  1. Willis Tower

    Version 1.0.0

    1,562 Downloads

The Willis Tower, built as and still commonly referred to as the Sears Tower, is a 108-story, 1,450-foot (442.1 m) skyscraper in Chicago, Illinois, United States.[3] At completion in 1973, it surpassed the World Trade Centertowers in New York to become the tallest building in the world, a title it held for nearly 25 years and remained the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere until 2014 and the completion of a new building at the World Trade Center site. The building is considered a seminal achievement for its architect Fazlur Rahman Khan. The Willis Tower is the second-tallest building in the United States and the 16th-tallest in the world. More than one million people visit its observation deck each year, making it one of Chicago's most popular tourist destinations. The structure was renamed in 2009 by the Willis Group as part of its lease on a portion of the tower's space. As of December 2013, the building's largest tenant is United Airlines, which moved its corporate headquarters from the United Building at 77 West Wacker Drive in 2012 and today occupies around 20 floors with its headquarters and operations center. The building's official address is 233 South Wacker Drive, Chicago, Illinois 60606. 2. Torre Mayor

    Version 1.0.0

    1,974 Downloads

The Torre Mayor (literally "Major Tower") is a skyscraper in Mexico City, Mexico. With a height of 225 metres (738 feet) to the top floor and 55 stories, it is the third tallest building in Mexico. From its completion in 2003 until 2010 (when it was surpassed by the 236 meter (774 ft) high Ocean Two in Panama City. t was also the tallest building in Latin America. The Torre Mayor was developed by Canadian businessman Paul Reichmann, who also maintains part ownership. It is also part-owned by a group of institutional investors. The building was designed by the architectural firms of Zeidler Partnership Architects and Executive Architects Adamson Associates Architects, both of Toronto. Located at Paseo de la Reforma, it was built by Canadian-owned Reichmann International on the former location of the Cine Chapultepec.[5] Construction work began in 1999 and was finished in late 2003. Due to Mexico City's high propensity to earthquakes, the tower incorporates several anti-earthquake measures. Torre Mayor is one of the strongest buildings on Earth in terms of earthquake resistance, being designed to withstand earthquakes measuring 8.5 on the Richter Scale. The U.S. Bank Tower in earthquake prone Los Angeles, California by comparison, is designed to withstand an 8.3 intensity earthquake. The Torre Mayor stands in the lakebed area where most of the 1985 earthquake damage occurred, It was built with 96 dampers, which work like car shock absorbers to block the resonating effect of the lakebed and its own height. These diamond-shaped dampers are seen architecturally on its perimeter. With this extra bracing, this tower can withstand earthquake forces nearly four times as efficiently as a conventionally damped building. The dampening system proved its worth in January 2003, as a 7.6 earthquake shook the city. Not only did the building survive undamaged, occupants inside at the time did not know a tremor had occurred. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Featured in ME:TMW Episode #52 comes the makeshift, towering edifices of the lower wealth drell people. Constructed mostly out of raw and spare materials, these monstrosities began sprouting from the ground during economic hardship, and the loss of civil governments on the drell homeworld. As a response to the lack of housing, these towering slum arcologies were a resolution to housing problems, but were constructed by the poor, and not the well off. These arcologies will provide your low wealth sims with some sub-standard roofs over their heads. At least it's something. This BAT requires SimFox's DarkNite modd for maximum suitability to graphics: In-game demonstration There are three available lot variations, with the BAT accompanied by a series of slums at ground level. The excellently made slums at ground level are credited to Wallibuk. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Basic Lot information: Lot Size - 2x2 (all) Residential - Parks & Recreation Growth Stage - 3 (R$) Dependencies METMW: Prop Pack Alpha (1.1 or later) METMW: Cision Motors Skycars + Hover Pickup Truck Slum Set by Wallibuk SimFox Day and Nite Modd by SimFox Installation Unzip all contained files into your SC4 plugins folder. When organizing the files, preferably put all folders and files contained in the zip file in a common folder [labelled to said author/group/project label ie. ME:TMW] to avoid future confusion. Author's Note **When releasing a lot of which includes this or any ME:TMW Project BAT (an exception for ME:TMW Prop Pack models from packs ie. METMW Prop Pack Alpha), contact me for permission before releasing the lots.** _________________________________________________________________________________________________________
