About This File

Meridian Condominiums, by Mattb325.
---------------------------------------

This is a purely fictional design for economical medium wealth apartments/condos that you see all around the world. Though basic in design, they are reasonably pleasant spaces: having only 4 apartments per floor; each apartment enjoys a wrap around balcony from all rooms with floor to ceiling glass doors allowing maximum light and air.

There are two model variants in the download: a 13 floor and an 18 floor building. These are arranged on 2x2, 3x2 and 5x5 lots. The 5x5 lot contains a prop family of the two models, so a slightly different version will grow each time you zone a 5x5 medium/high density tract while holding down the CTRL key.

The various lot sizes will house between 344 - 1,541 R$$ sims on the modern Houston and Euro tilesets.

Like all of my work, these are suited to both CAM and non CAM cities alike.

NOTE ABOUT DARK NITE vs MAXIS NITE:

This download contains TWO model files; one for dark nite users and one for the standard Maxis nite. If you are unsure whether you have a night-darkening mod installed, then choose the Maxis night version.
If you use the dark nite version, you will need a dark nite mod. (http://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/23089-simfox-day-and-nite-modd/)

What I love about this is that medium-density and high-density residential are the backbone of most larger cities in the game - as industrial and commercial are both supported by residential, it tends to exist in the greatest amount, and therefore it's where variety is most needed.

Mattb325's latest work is a versatile highrise residential design in multiple flavors with sumptuous nightlighting, careful texturing and lotting for a variety of lots and environments; the variety is successfully leveraged for maximum creative value! A wonderful addition to regions, thank you Matt! 5/5!

As a CAM player I'm so thankfull for these residentials. I mean, I have to fill 15 grow stages with nice residentials, With those bats from the original game it's not possible to achieve a really smooth growing curve and the biggest space in between rural tiles and mega city, in the middle, remains uncovered. There is a gap until today.

How to explain? In case you play with CAM, rural houses may make up grow stage 1 to 5 . ~35% of the stash.  High rise maybe stage 12 to 15, 20%. So level 6 to 11, and therefore 45 percent of the required residential buildings are settled in the mid-rise range. You'll need much more of them because along the growths-axis they appear longest. You could compare it with humans, where children and senior citizens don't have an equal age range compared to "mid-aged adults". If you didn't notice yet - your life isn't divided in fair slices. Childhood - the period full of magic is much shorter than ...

Err, now where did I get myself to? Back to topic, Fantozzi. And, err, sorry.

I'm always glad seeing these kind of residentials I still have much room to use. Thank you, Matt, for those Best-Agers.
