Okay, here me out...or if this exists somewhere let me know... If I understand correctly, once your region reaches a certain population, taller buildings will appear - regardless of the city tile's population. So theoretically, a town with a population of 30k could have a skyscraper if your region population is like 2.8M...if I understand correct. What I would like to do is edit the ordinance file, replace one of the bad dumb ordinances with an ordinance that prevents buildings from growing over a certain height. I know generally if your don't zone dense you won't have that problem - however I altered my commercial zones so LD is only for CS$, MD is CS$$ and CS$$$, and HD is CO$$ and CO$$$, so I can't prevent skyscrapers with just zoning. So is something like this possible? Would it just be using iReader and altering some line? If so, what line what exemplar?

Diagonal RHW-6S L0-L1 height transition not working?
tagehring posted a topic in NAM & Transit Networks
Should this transition work in RHW-6S? I deleted the diagonal road to ensure it didn't factor in to the problem, placed the height transition, and then connected it on both ends to existing L0 and L1 RHW-6S. No amount of clicking around the RHW network nearby makes it switch over to working. -
Does anyone know the height difference from the surface of the land to the top of the maxis in game water surface?

What are the floor counts for Equinox's buildings?
DeclanHaselhurst posted a topic in SC4 - Custom Content
I am very interested in @Equinox's buildings, but I don't know how many floors his buildings have. I haven't been able to find anything listing the number of storeys on said content, but I want to know how many storeys his buildings (e.g. Bosworth Tower) have. Can you give me some information? Thanks. -
Is there a way to transition to a different height with highways? I have a L0 highway and want to change to a L1 or L2. Wondering the same about rail. I can see in the menu there's an option to switch from subway to elevated rail, but I'd like to know if you could just go from subway to rail or rail to elevated. I've used the rail viaducts to travel over roads, but it seems they can only be built piece by piece whereas it would obviously be easier to be able have a draggable option to continue the network.

It turns out the game has a hardcoded height limit of 2770 (no idea why that number specifically), above this height terrain tools do nothing (except lowering tools which will instantly flatten the terrain to the limit before digging down, didn't test smoothing tools, though), and networks don't work (except pipes and subways, didn't test power lines, roads flatten the height to 2770, and everything else reports that the grade is unsuitable even if the terrain is perfectly flat). The game can still render terrain above this height, it merely appears that the terrain tools and networks are hardcoded in the exe to respect an arbitrary maximum height. (Also, this breaks down when you remember the game world was based on California to the extent that diagonal streets were disabled. I guess the game really was intended to be as abstract as SC2K, hence the lack of a way to properly terminate highways in the original game) This is problematic with SC4Terraformer, which sets the default height to 6000 (which is way too much), unless Simmaster is willing to take a look at this then Terraformer is overdue for an update to fix this bug. (This reminds me of a music-related situation in another modding community I'm in...)

Array out of range errors and How high is a Cim in blender units in Cities Skylines?
ScreaminAbdabs posted a topic in Cities: Skylines Modding - Open Discussion
Hi, I am sure this must have been asked thousands of times, except I cant find a quick answer. There are tantalising mentions of using 'the cim model' which I guess is this one? https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/resource-max-obj-file-of-male-cim-to-get-better-sense-of-scale-when-modeling.874872/ however this is for 3Dmax and I'm using Blender (and having never used Max don't know if the units match). My problem is that the replacement monorail station building I am working on is 1.37metres high in blender, and gets imported into city skylines at 12* scale sometimes, but sometimes this causes an array out of range (or something similar) error and I have to go up to 14 times. I have no idea why I get this error, nor why changing the scale fixes it, but its driving me nuts. My .fbx export scale is 1. If it imports ok at 12 times then the pedestrian routes all line up as do the platforms (which is nice) but they don't at 14 times, and the monorail platforms are the wrong height. I'm wondering if this array error is due to me getting the scale just wrong so city skylines cannot do 'something' and maybe if I knew the actual height of a cim I could work backwards and fix this issue. Then again I could just be wrong. In addition the station has stairs and I want to add a handrail onto these, but I'm stumped as to how high to make it as I cannot figure out how tall a cim is. If I do some simple maths my building is 16.44m (at 12*) or 19.18m tall (and wrong at 14 times). Can someone point me at a simple solution? Massive thanks in advance. (Oh if anyone's interested the Metro I have been working on is now testing in some saves of mine, so far it looks good). -
I know there is a way you can enable Topographical Lines in SC4. I just can't remember how to do it. They are like Contour Lines.

Building is "squeezed" when i import as asset.
Infrastructurist posted a topic in Cities: Skylines Modding - Open Discussion
Finally got the courage and interest to attempt to create some buildings myself. My first building is a 24 story modern art deco (but rather bland) office tower, but when i import it with the asset creator it is totally squeezed together, like all the 24 stories exist but the building is at least only 1/3 of it's height in Blender. Any help :D? EDIT; -
Hi guys ( and girls ). I am using Sudden Valley terrain mod, without any height modifications. Suddenly, out of nowhere it started to show snow ( white terrain ) on very low heights. When I save and get back to region, there is no snow. I tried getting out of game and restarting computer but same thing happens again. Any idea? I just saw it is an Easter egg from the developers

How to make Bridges High enough for Ferries
Cougar2004 posted a topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
How can bridges be made high enough for ferries to cross under? I've searched a bit on the forums but haven't found the answer yet. I have the latest (NAM 31.1), and no matter where I build, even when I terraform (raise the land up a bit on each end), the popup box that lets me choose the bridge always tells me that the the highest option is just barely too low for ferries to pass. I have a fair amount of water in this city, and therefore quite a few ferries and a seaport. A river splits the the city diagonally into two, so a bridge is needed. I'm sure someone has struggled with this problem before. Any ideas how to solve it? Thanks!
