    Oh, Cori!! Your thoughtfulness and dedication really know no boundaries! You didn't have to go through all this trouble! But thank you SO MUCH!! I see, maybe the way I like to make them (using custom bitmaps and the URK) it really can't generate .bld files, only the Building Architect can. I guess my next buildings will just have to be landmarks then. But now, thanks to you, I know why. Thank you again, OMG, you're the absolute best. p.s.: I called you Cori because that's what you say you prefer in your "about me"
  2. Hi, So, I got the SC3URK (Unlimited Rendering Kit) and, for the longest time before, it worked just fine. But since I downloaded it again recently, it just won't render replacement buildings. It renders landmarks just fine (.DAT), but not .bld files. The message says it was rendered successfully, but it won't show up in the buildings folder, and I can't find it in the game either. Does anyone know what could be causing this? Or had the same problem? I have several buildings I'd like to share that may work as replacement buildings (if people like it), like my previous "1910s inspired high-rise" I posted last Sunday. But I had to post it as a landmark (.DAT). :(( Thanks in advance for any response! ps.: I've already uninstalled it, downloaded it again, reinstalled it, and the problem persists. Also, I have the application in the "Apps" folder, as recommended, and all my .bmp files are stored there too.

    Thank you SO much for that comment!! One of my main concerns is to shade it in Photoshop (that's why I only use the URK when the bitmap sprites are properly finished), so as to make it blend in with the game. Like the slight gradient - lighter on top and darker at the bottom -, or have the number of stories match the other buildings in scale, etc, so I'm really glad it's achieving that goal!

    Hi! I wanted to have one of those early 20th century high-rises in my city, with a nice top floor and roof. (Original concept, done in Corel and Photoshop, rendered with SC3K U.R.K.) With some BTS aand some silly lore as usual. M.T. P.S.: I wanted this to be a .BLD file, to work as a replacement building, but my URK (the Unlimited Rendering Kit) has something wrong with it, because it can only generate .DAT (landmark) files. If anyone knows a way to turn a .DAT file into a .BLD file, or what may be wrong with my URK, I'd very much appreciate some help! Thanks in advance.

    You're right (and thanks for the like! ) I draw the files in Corel Draw, then shade them and add textures in Photoshop, then cut the sprites (with the pink background), and then I use the Unlimited Rendering Kit to render the file. This file is .DAT, so it works normally as a landmark. But you can also make it a replacement building. The trick to drawing them from scratch is respecting the 26°6' degrees of isometry, which is what the game uses.

    I made this because I never really liked the original SC3K Performing Arts center. I also added some BTS and a street view mockup. And some lore, because I can never do anything without lore (my entire city has it ). Feel free to skip it. Hope you guys like it. M.T. *fictional name. ** I have no formal education in Architecture, so I apologize to connoisseurs for any glaring structural or conceptual flaws. I also drew this portrait for my avatar, trying to evoke the style of Broderick Macaraeg, who designed the characters in SC3K.

Yeah, I had to take a break from these projects recently (most of them are not yet fully ready to render, or there are a few adjustments I want to make... I'm a bit of a perfectionist, lol), but I'll resume them soon, and be sure to post them here!

Threads where this kind of post is more adequate, etc. I'm really green here at Simtropolis, and I see you guys are a fantastic community, so I'd like to contribute as BEST I can.   13. Hey! I'm still a SC3K fan, not sure if there are many of us around here... So, there's this beautiful building in my hometown (it's a relatively "early" Niemeyer, for those who like his work) I find its massing and optical effects mesmerizing. So I've decided to use the Unlimited Rendering Kit to try and render it. Drawn using photoshop and Corel Draw. If anyone is interested, here's the .DAT file: https://file.io/ltX9P9TMJ5py Definitely not perfect, and I had to make a few changes, but I think it may still add some charm to a SC3000 type city, where most things are in straight lines.
