Welcome back,Thanks for all the feedback and encouragement. hahei - I sure hope one day I can make something worthy of Ben's Top Ten. I'll keep trying.terring - Thanks.00Stevo - The Building that looks like a computer chip is of course the Borg Entertainment Cube.Hyronymus - Yes, that underground station entrance is functional. You don't see subways going through it or anything but you do connect a subway line to it. This is the station ins question.I was hard at work renovating Avalon when it suddenly...

Welcome Back,TowerDude - Long live Simtropolis!dubaidude303 - I gotta represent.Velocity264C - Thankskatherman111 - So many people ask me where I get my buildings. Simple answer: ST/Exchange. 80 to 90% of all my buildings come from the ST/Exchange and that is where you can find the Tintin Destination Moon Rocket.TheHaso2011 - Sure, why not.Updates- NAM upgraded. I finally upgraded my Network Add-on Mod to the latest version. I think I had 2.9 or something. I didn't even realize I didn't have the most...

Welcome back,Thanks for all the feedback and encouragement.hahei - For sure the theme is cyberpunk, but there are a few Zones on the edges that are less dense and futuristic. I'm always experimenting with rural tools here and there.IL - The building the in last picture of my previous post is the by Cobb32118. I like the idea that my city sprawls as much underground as it does on the surface. Unfortunately in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0xVp3N-M84, the movie I posted a trailer for in my last entry, is a...

Welcome back,Thanks for all the feedback and encouragement so far.ggamgus - Yeah, like I said, I really love that borg cubemrblisterdunde - the rail on the coast is a rail to ferry port. I don't think there is one that connects to tram as far as I knowgman28 - Your observation about the trees has been acted upon. I used to just brush trees in randomly along the highways, but over the past few days I've been replacing them with ploppable seasonal trees. It looks much nicer now, but there are still places...

Welcome back,Thanks for all the feedback and encouragement.SimCoug - Thank you.gman28 - I totally agree with your observation. I've been thinking of relocating the elements of this Zone in a newer better designed one. This Zone was made quite a while ago when I had an obsession with avenues for some reason. There are a lot of older zones that I tend to re-do because they are ugly and follow more novice design principles.Schulmanator - Glad you enjoyed it, thanksNurelFayed - Thanks.frdrcklim - lol, I'm so...

Welcome to Ionica - Year 2198 - Population 5.5 millionI would like to start out by thanking all the people and groups whose buildings and mods helped make this city possible. Simtropolis is an amazing community and it has brought SimCity 4 to a whole other level. I'm learning new ways to play the game every time I come to this site and every time I download new add-ons, it is amazing. I've seen so many fantastic city journals and they inspire me to design better and more beautiful cities, thank you.The...

How the World Works"A dark future, an uncertain past, no one left to trust" - OniIonica is a futuristic city-state on the verge of the technological singularity. Companies like OCP, Cyberdyne Systems, InGen, Tyrell Corp., Weyland, and Megatech are all competing to advance genetic and cybernetic technologies, and to develop 'virtual intelligence'. There are a lot of concerns as to the implications of the advancement of these technologies and laws are currently being debated in the congress to determine...

Welcome back to In this entry we continue to explore the Sarai Ecological Community. Enjoy. All of the buildings that once stood in this mostly undeveloped area are now gone, except for the historic Von Roo Mill, which is now a gift shop. Here you can see one of the two models of homes available in the Ecological Community. All of the homes come with an Aquaponic Greenhouse and a swimming pool. Things like tennis courts, conservatories (which the model below has), statues, ponds, and playgrounds are...

Sarai

This Zone, Sarai, gets it's name from the biblical Sarah or Sara the wife of Abraham and the mother of Isaac. God changed her name from Sarai to Sarah as part of a covenant after Hagar bore Abraham his first son, Ishmael. The Hebrew name Sarai/Sarah indicate a woman of high rank and is translated as "princess" or "noblewoman".Sarai is a Zone where the dense city starts to taper off and give way to low density houses and more open spaces. Over the past few entries I have been drip feeding close-ups of the...

Marina Fun pt.3

My 50th entry! This is the third and final part of my Marina Fun series. This time I am using nbvc's modular marina add on. I've noticed that I'm very fond of paulvmonfort's HK Grand Terrace. I think it is because it is a very beautiful building that faces diagonally but isn't actually a diagonal building. The hard drive on my PC is dying and I recently ordered a new one. Hopefully I won't be out of the game for too long. Comments, suggestions, and questions are always appreciated. Thanks for visiting. Ln...

Around 6 months ago I was working on a University which I later abandoned in favor of other projects thinking I would finish it later. As my skill progressed and I acquired new BATs I realized that my grand vision for a top class University could not be achieved with my current layout and eventually decided to scrap the project and start again. While gathering material for my next batch of CJ entries I realized it would be a shame to let all this hard work go to waste so I've decided to show you the...

To kick off this 2014 season I give you a preview of what to expect in my CJ over the next few months. Some are projects that are nearly finished, others are plans I have for the future.AvalonThose who are familiar with my CJ will recognize the GIF below as Avalon, the heart of Ionica. I've almost finished rebuilding, all that is left to do is add a few more buildings such as The Shard London Bridge by Xyloxadoria and IFC2 v3 by paulvmonfort. It is still going to take a while for this tile to be complete....

Replies10000000000000: Awesome city!Extremely dense, but it doesn't lose any beauty The nightlighting is my favorite part! Thanks. For me, finding buildings with nice night lighting is key.vivapanda: You have put a lot of imagination in this: acadamic competition (absolutely awesome idea!), Stex godess, I like it! Thanks to this some sort of 'identity' is given to each building, important in such an enourmous city. Thanks vivapanda, I'm glad it has entertained you.SimCoug: Grid or not, that is one...

Thank you to all those who visited, commented, and rated my CJ in the past year. I was only able to bring you half the amount of entries as last year due to certain delays and complications (I spilled water into my computer), but I think the quality has improved a lot and I hope to continue that trend.Right now I'm just building up a lot of material so that when I do make a 'comeback' I will have lots of great stuff to show and I'll be able to do that a bit more consistently. Thanks to KonstantinII, I...

Welcome back toSun Bu'erThis small zone is located north of Tan Chuduan, the one shown in the previous entry. As we get further from the center of the city we are starting to see lower density some residential areas which are a preview to what lies beyond the dreamy spires of Ionica. The canal in this Zone is the continuation of a series that travels across seven small Zone above Avalon and it serves no real purpose other than to allow Sims to leisurely travel from one Zone to the next.Open your window and...

Welcome back toLast week a showed you a park my newest zone. That is just a fraction of a much bigger park called the Sarai Ecological Community in th middle of a low density residential neighborhood. This community, like many others in Ionica is based on the principles of Ecological Urbanism which is a theory of planning and design for urbanism arguing that landscape, rather than architecture, is more capable of organizing the city and enhancing the urban experience. In the bottom half of this picture you...

Welcome back toWell it has been a long time but I am finally ready to start making a return. I still have a lot of things to do before I get Ionica up an running again, but in the meantime I'll share a few new pictures from around the city and from one of the new Zones I've been working on for the past couple of months.Special thanks to KonstantinII who has been custom LOTing some BATs for me and sharing them with the rest of Simtropolis.Garden of St. Michael's church in Wang Chu YiRemnant of Camelot in...

Welcome back toSagittariusIonica was founded in the sign of Sagittarius which is why one of it's predominant symbols is the archer. This Zone bares the name of the stars under which our great city was born.Snow is rare in Ionica, but when it does snow it is a sight to behold. Lets hope whe have some for Christmas. As usual all of the mosaics are in high resolution and you can see the full size by clicking on them, enjoy.Repliesggamgus: Woww... Such a huge city. One would expect it to have 20-30 million...
