Lots of pics incoming. High bandwidth recommended. I'm taking a 2-3 month break from CJing so this is my last one for a while. Thanks to everyone who visited, commented, and rated this CJ. Enjoy! (Mosaics are cut in halves or quarters. Comments, suggestions, and questions are always appreciated. Thanks for visiting. ggamgus, Schulmanator, fan o SC4, Ln X, Huston, tankman, Lord Branham, Fox Thanks for your comments and support. Stay tuned. sarthakknight: im the first to comment !!! yeah its looks awesome bro how can you just ..............im wordless can't form sentences anymore btw how do you manage to place seawalls and piers?? Lol, you actually didn't manage to get first. Oh well - thanks. Not exactly sure what you're asking about. PM me and we'll discuss it. TekindusT: Only a skilled player could sneak the Westminster Abbey BAT in a city like Ionica. 'Nuff said! I didn't even realize that was Westminster. Thanks. suomi2005: Looks really good and I think the seaport is looking good too. I'm not an expert or anything but you might want to try to replicate some real world seaports by looking at some satellite pictures. Anyway that is the best advice I have to give. Keep up the excellent work Yeah I'll have a look at some sat pics of seaports. Thanks stockslips: my type of city exelent work... Loved the GIF, thanks.

Following Huston's example I'd like to share a few pics that I didn't have room for in my entries. (Don't worry Huston, this won't become a regular thing for me) Regular followers of this CJ will recognize Avalon in the pic below. I still have a lot of work to get that tile to 100% - it is tough balancing out residential and commercial. This church is in my tile with the Blitzball stadium. I've shown it before, but now the park and sea walls are totally different. If you go to my entry Opening Night Blitz you can see what I'm talking about. I'm currently experimenting with industrial seaports and the pic below is from a small test tile. Tell me what you think. The heliports in Avalon's industrial district. I originally had only 2 heliports but the demand for an airport was so high I had to add another one. Thank god I had the space for it. This small industrial area is from the tile where I'm testing out seaports. I could use some more futuristic industrial buildings if you know of any. The Huang Yaoshi Opera House neatly packed in amongst some W2W buildings. A rainy day for the residents of Peach Blossom Bay. Here is another example of re-made parks from my Opening Night Blitz entry. I changed it so that the park would have a more symmetrical pattern. This is a picture I made for my Wild for the Night entry but it was kind of redundant so I left it out. Comments, suggestions, and questions are always appreciated. Thanks for visiting. VicRusty, Neto Dari, fan o SC4, suomi2005, simlink, Titanicbuff. Thanks for your comments and support. Stay tuned. Xander Dax:WOW amazing, i love your marinas....i can never get the terraforming right when i try to make marinas for some reason. It can be tricky at first. I think having a Slope Mod helps and using the road tool to level out terrain is also key. ggamgus: Fantastic! I love your photoshop process! Glad you enjoyed it. Good to see you back ggamgus. sarthakknight: frickin mosses its fantastic !!! btw can you make a photoshop tutorial please the one i found there the process of layering and stuff isn't explained in detail?? Haven't forgotten about your request sarthakknight. Give me some more time. Thanks. BlackEpic: What mod?[is it a mod] did he use on the bay's edges (The wall like thing)[you may call me noobish, that's true anyway and i dont know what it's called] Could you be a bit more specific? westy177: Wow you fit so much in that medium city tile :0 Your photoshopping are impressive, I fire it up and get overwhelmed by the sheer variety of filters and effects kudos to you mate Photoshop can be a bit intimidating at first but it is easy to figure out by watching tutorials on youtube and experimenting. Thanks. TekindusT: We may know the technique, but we will never get that magic hand you have... Anyways, thanks for the tips! You make me blush so much Tek! Thanks. weixc812: Forgive me, my friend. I feel the before pictures look a bit better than the afters. There're too many skyscrapers in the after picture that it lacks hierarchy. mM suggestion is to control the height of the city, with limited tall buildings seated in important districts. Besides, your city is perfect and invincible. If you look at my city as a whole, not just this tile you can see there is more of a hierarchy of buildings. However, my city is supposed to be a super dense futuristic metropolis packed with skyscrapers. Huston: More neat stuff huh? Really loving the before and after photoshop shots as well. It's interesting to see SimCity 4 raw Ionica It was an entry in one of your CJs that inspired me to do a before and after Photoshop thing. Thanks. KonstantinII: I really like the city layout Hey KonstantinII, thanks. Benedict: Fantastic tutorial - what a cool idea to use a nebula, rippled, for water at night. And well done - in the face of some extreme competition, you've held on to the top spot on BTT for a second week. Sure has been tough getting up to the top this year, but the competition is great motivation to do bigger and better things. daTSchikinhed: wow, this is beautiful. I love those marinas. I followed up on the links that you posted for the dependencies on the Marinas. Only ones I couldn't find were Youcef's props, hopefully that won't be too important. SC4 needs more yachts and larger boats. We got huge ships, and we have a plethora of smaller boats, but not very many midsized boats of 50+ft or more. Also curious, what water mod are you using? I use the Brigantine (sp?), but it doesn't have a very good transparency depth. If you looks on the second page of the comment section in the Med Marina CJ entry you will find Youcef's props. I'm using the Brigantine water mod. The water looks like it has transparency and depth because it is quite shallow.

Here are a few 'Before and After' pictures from my newest tile that give a little insight into how I do things in SC4 and Photoshop. The first thing I did was Terra-form the waterfront and connect the roads and canal to the adjoining tile. At this point some of the marinas had already been placed but I temporarily took them because I needed to reassign them which is why they aren't in this picture. After the main roads were set I selected and placed my non-functional landmarks. This tile was actually being designed long before reddonquixote released Q1 or the Melbourne Star but I had already planned to have them in this tile the moment I laid eyes on them. I had no idea how big Q1 was going to be, thankfully it was released at the perfect time and I had the right spot for it. I originally used the British Airways London Eye as a placeholder for the Melbourne Star and it looked great but it was totally different and the night lighting wasn't as spectacular. When it came to zoning I started by choosing the locations of my principle functional landmarks, to eventually just determining a size and filling out the space. As I go along i fill unused spaces with parks and parking lots. For this tile I went nuts using paeng's Streetside Diagonal Parking. This is what my tile looked like right before pressing the play button: Everything went fairly smoothly except I forgot to build one essential thing at the beginning which dragged down the safety and land value rating of my tile. It was a Fire House. I found that out after my hospital burned down. It was pretty hilarious. There was also a sea to air airport I ended up getting rid of because it got dilapidated too quickly and didn't look nice. Even though a lot of areas were zoned there is still a lot of plopping involved as I let the city grow. I have a ton of BATs and certain things grow like wildfire so I have to go in there and micromanage a little, especially when it comes to residential buildings. The picture below is what my tile looks like at 100% completion. Before Photoshop: You can see that OlScare/Benoit's Marinas lack night lights and the water lacks texture and luminescence. Also, certain lit objects like trees and lamps don't seem to bounce light off of anything. I tend to start with the water effect. To do that I use the picture of a nebula or a starry sky and I apply an Ocean Ripple effect on it. Then I set the layer of the nebula to screen and I meticulously cut out all the objects it overlaps. Once that is complete I set the layer to 60-65% opacity and mess around with the levels to get the right amount of darkness and translucence. The next thing I do is create my light layer by copying the image and putting it in the background. My light layer is just a super brightened layer that is extra yellow and orange to imitate that night light glow. Sometimes I make it a white or blue. It depends on the mood. Then I go back to my main layer with a feathered eraser and poke holes where I think there should be more light. I like to darken my image a bit and add more contrast with the levels. I also like to play with the color balance a little. I tend to add a bit more yellow and orange as well as tone down the blue to counter that Maxis Night just a little bit. Finally I add the clouds in a new layer. They are just simple brushes I downloaded, no skill there. I've also been adding little lens-flares to lamps here and there, but I didn't do that in this picture because there aren't any that needed it. The key to lens flares is that they shouldn't be too in your face. Of course I've flouted that rule and gone J.J. Abrams many times, but I still find the best lens-flares are the ones that feel natural and don't draw too much attention to themselves. After Photoshop: Comments, suggestions, and questions are always appreciated. Thanks for visiting. Schulmanator: You put me in the mood for a vacation for sure!!! Time to pack my bags! Come on down Schulmanator. You'll get VIP service everywhere you go. Ln X: Amazing pictures and a great night scene, the reflections from the water are really cool. My only slight complaint would be the photoshopped clouds. The problem is they are too small, at these close zooms, and thus it gives the appearance of bands of cloud-shaped fog rolling in over the ground. I think the clouds should be bigger and the transition from white cloud to barely opaque should be greater. Because that is what it would look like from a distance high up in the sky. Thanks for calling me out on those clouds. Sometimes you get so close to a project you can't see the flaws. tankman: Wow what an amazing selection of pictures, your night images are probably some of the best. Golly, thanks. Making that Maxis Night work for me. TekindusT: OMG, perfection in 1080p!! Oh yeah! It's Next-Gen! Thanks. KonstantinII: For example, I find the facade or support of the Herald Sun tower looks a little old. Where did you get those new boat lots starting from 3rd picture? The link goes to CJ, not a download page. When describing the interior of buildings such as Q1 you should include real life pictures of the rooms like you did in Avalon Your Guide to the Bicentennial. Other than that I can say I enjoyed this update, especially how you used the banners Thanks for your suggestions. The boat lots are from OlScare/Benoits French Riviera CJ entry. I linked to that entry because you need to see the list of dependencies and gather them before you download the lots. reddonquixote: This is wonderful work! As a BATer there's no greater compliment than having our work used in CJs so thank you so much for inviting me to come and look. I really like how you've done the water. (I actually really like the clouds too!) I'll try and visit more often Thanks for visiting and thanks again for all your great work. Our CJs wouldn't be the same without it. sarthakknight: holy biscuits with missile oh man 1080p its awesome im awestruck dude it was so clear !! 100 likes for it bro (if its possible) Ah, if only you could give 1000 likes, then I'd be king of the world mwhahahahah. Thanks. dabadon5: Wow built a better version of a city i was trying to build, nicely done Took me over a month to complete. Thanks. Magneto: Very impressive! Thanks for the invite. You're welcome, thanks again for your help. Neto Dari: The contrast of light in darkness of the night was very beautiful. Glad you thought so too, thanks. fan o SC4:Beautiful, stunning, these are understatements. Thank you very much. Hellken: One of your best works. Now I'm blushing, thanks. Huston: There are no words currently to describe how I feel about this update. :| Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! Thanks. Benedict: Great update - and you're back at number one on BTT - well done. That took a while. I feel out of breath like I've just run a marathon. Thanks. Terring: Great work Hey Terring, thanks.

The weather is getting better every day and Ionicans just want to blow off some steam. Where do they go? To Peach Blossom Bay of course, in the Zone known as Huang Yaoshi. This Zone gets its name from one of the Five Greats of the wulin (martial artists' community) during the Song dynasty. A man nicknamed "Eastern Heretic" for being an unorthodox radical who behaves as he wishes without showing any regard for formalities or moral ethics. The nightlife in Huang Yaoshi is currently the envy of Ionica and is quickly becoming the hottest tourist attraction in the known galaxy. Time to go wild! (click on images to view full 1080p) Q1, seen in the picture above, is one of the tallest residential towers in Ionica and it is the tallest building in Huang Yaoshi. It offers 526 elite and exclusive one, two and three bedroom apartments rise up into the sky, capturing breathtaking views of Peach Blossom Bay. Each elegant, state-of-the-art apartment delivers an uncompromising sense of space, freedom and a sleek, modern design. It encapsulates world-class recreational, dinning and retail precincts with tropical landscaping, resort pools, day spa, meeting and conference facilities, a sophisticated dining precinct and complimentary secure car parking for resort guests. Ocean's 27 (below) is a chain of nightclubs in Ionica but the one is Huang Yaoshi is often considered to be the best. It has 5 different rooms, each with state of the art sound systems and luxurious VIP lounges for high rollers. The marinas are designed in the style of the French Riviera and it is almost a surreal experience to be able to go from densely packed high-rises to a relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere. Huang Yaoshi has two separate Mediterranean style Marinas; one in an L shape, the other in a T shape. The Grand Hyatt in Huang Yaoshi is an award winning 5 star hotels which features direct access and amazing views of the marinas as well as first class facilities which include; spectacular upper and lower lobbies, the restaurant Collins Kitchen; RU-CO (Bar of the Year); City Club, a state-of-the-art gym and a swathe of couture boutiques. The GT Tower next to the Grand Hyatt is one of the most unique buildings in Ionica. The facade renders the idea of undulating waves and it reflects the affinity for water which Ionicans have. The tower seems to be rising from the soil as if it moves at top and beautiful effects are performed by the light that reflects in the glass, making the building a very impressive sight to behold. Ah, Science and Religion side by side in harmony. Here we see the Gothic style St. Paul's Cathedral next to the high-tech and modern Eicosakis Biology Research Center. Both have unimpeded access and view of the marinas. The Militant Developments building seen in the picture below belongs to The Militant Group, a Real Estate and Banking conglomerate; the richest and most powerful in Ionica. They own practically all the waterfront property in the city. The Militant Group faced many charges of corruption over the years but they always prevail in court because their lawyers know all the loopholes. At least they are devoted to making the city look nice. The Spinnaker, modeled after a special type of sail that is designed specifically for sailing off the wind from a reaching course to a downwind, is an observation tower open and free to the public. At the top is a triple observation deck, providing a 360° view of Peach Blossom Bay. The first deck features glass floor which visitors can stand on. The highest of the three observation platforms, the crow's nest, has only a wire mesh roof, so visitors are open to the elements. A series of four mid-rise Suites Hotels known as Les Quatres Jardins lines the southern side of the T-shaped marina. The rooms are luxurious but actually fairly cheap to rent out. A constant influx of visitors allows them to keep the price low and still make lots of profit. The building in the top right corner is the Tong YQ Library. It has a number of facilities including an auditorium, cubicles of Ionican culture, an atrium, meeting room, Internet room, small mosque, café, cafeteria and Energy Corner. On the other side of Peach Blossom Bay is Peach Blossom Island which has mainly low density residential and commercial buildings but at the waterfront there are still a few mid-rise and hi-rise apartments designed to provide amazing views of the city across the bay. The Redemption Lighthouse is now well over 80 years old but it still illuminates the harbor as brightly as ever despite the fact that its actual usefulness has long since passed. These modern walk-ups (3 of 6) right at sea level in the T-shaped marina are probably some of the most exclusive residences in Ionica, but maybe if you know the right person (me) you can get one. They feature private docks and residents are seconds away (on foot) from virtually every landmark shown in this entry. The perfect place to end the night is the Ionican Star Observation Wheel. Spectacularly lit and open 'till 4am on Fridays and Saturdays, it is 120m tall and has seven spokes forming a seven pointed star. One complete rotation takes 30 minutes and provides uninterrupted 360-degree views of up to 40 kilometers, encompassing all of Peach Blossom Bay. Special thanks to: - OIScare/Benoit for unofficially releasing and providing the long list of dependencies for their beautiful custom marinas from their amazing CJ entry: Med Inspirations - French Riviera - Magneto for patiently teaching me how to reassign building types . - reddonquixote for releasing a wonderful series of Australian BATs in late 2013 - early 2014. This tile wouldn't be the same without them. - nbvc whose content is indispensable when creating water scenes. - KonstantinII for creating an Ionican Banner which I'm using everywhere now. Comments, suggestions, and questions are always appreciated. Thanks for visiting. Wallibuk, raynev1, agnostiskbarn, slickbg56, Neto Dari, Tonraq, sejr99999 Thanks for your comments and support. Stay tuned. fan o SC4: Each picture has so much going on, but that's a good thing. And those condos with the pools, overlooking the marina, they must cost a fortune. Also no word to describe the quality of your marinas, they make all other marinas look bad. Heh, thanks, but I'm still playing catchup to people like paeng and OlScare/Benoit. pingpong: That yacht club, is simply FABULOUS. I really love the contrast between day view and night view. Thanks, I just can't deny my love for the night lights. Schulmanator: Impressive work. I wanna visit! Come soon Schul, thanks. KonstantinII: It looks like this zone is a bit older than the other ones. And I really do like the small park next to the boats complex. One who lives in the tall condos might take a walk there. I meant this zone seems older in style, of course it is the newest one you made. Maybe because some of the buildings look more weathered, that's all. Yeah I think it looks a bit older cause of those PEG Marinas, also despite a few hi-rises most of the building aren't that tall. Thanks. blunder: That marine luminescence never gets old. Yeah, but I've kinda backed myself into a corner where it feels like I have to do it every time now. Thanks. scissors: Really nice to see the Vesteda (two times) in a different setting then from when I look out the window here in Eindhoven. It fits perfectly well in your city as well. I love the Vesteda! How lucky you must be to be able to see the real life version of such a beautifully rendered BAT. Thanks. sarthakknight: oh man i wanna visit this beautiful modern city !!! why u no real?? awesome update though!! Wouldn't that be nice. Thanks sarthakknight. TekindusT: Oh, the night mosaics...! If you liked those then I think you'll really appreciate the pics in the entry above. Thanks. tankmank: Great mosaics. I like the use of the raised parks, rarely see them used, and i think they work great. Bixel was a BAT master, I wish he'd drop a few more on us. Thanks. Richie99: That marina!!!OMG this is so gorgeous that I feel like starting work on the marina in my port city right away.Great stuff and your pictures are cool as always. Inspiration is the first step. Glad I could be your muse. Best of luck. Thanks. Casper3141: Has a Miami look to me anyways with all those skyrises and then a great looking harbor across the street, I like how you have used the maxis freeway through the area, seems to blend in just right Hah, maybe I was inspired by watching so much CSI Miami while playing SC4. Thanks.

Archon is a little Zone located at the Northwest corner of Ionica's densest area, Avalon. It is an ideal location for people who commute to the CBD for work but want to live in a place that is slighty more relaxed and easy going. Archon is also the home of two of Ionica's biggest news media organizations: the Herald Sun (a national print journal), and the CBC (Cosmic Broadcast Community, an intergalactic news agency). Tall and luxurious condo buildings line the waterfront and offer spectacular views for those lucky enough to live there. The Yacht Club is open to all, but those with memberships get discounts and VIP service. The marinas are all public but the majority of boats docked there are privately owned. Like all the Zones of Ionica, Archon is filled with parks where people can escape the oppressive concrete jungle as well as bring those boisterous kids or pets out to drain some of that energy. A complete view of the Marina. When the sun goes down Archon is famous for its Yacht parties. It is also famous for its Yacht party fines and lawsuits. Ionica has fairly relaxed laws when it comes to partying and drinking in public. However, the environmental laws concerning pollution, especially of water are very strict. Quite a few Yacht owners who have held large parties on the water have payed out heft sums to the city for throwing trash into the water. That money goes to keeping the water as clean as possible. Nights in Archon aren't just for partying, there is also a lot of business that goes down. Many of the biggest CEOs in working in Avalon bring clients, partners, and guests to discuss and negotiate deals here. Some of the most significant mergers and aqusitions made in Ionica are rumored to have been brokered in penthouse suites on the top floors of high-rises in Archon. Comments, suggestions, and questions are always appreciated. Thanks for visiting. TekindusT, Pwel28, Terring, simcityplayer15, Vitor13, gigius76, Schulmanator, sarthakknight, elavery, Tonraq Thanks for your comments and support. Stay tuned. Richie99: Nice pictures and the city must have taken lots of effort to achieve. What seawalls do you use? Thanks. Those are JENX Paris Quais de Seine seawalls. jmsepe: I suddenly ran out of words again. I could feel how tedious to make these updates are and they are definitely worth it. Tedious makes it sound like it's no fun. I would call it meticulous. Thanks. Roman_Samudra: Why a LNG Tanker ships manage to squeeze into city canal? In another words.... fabulous.... Technically it isn't a canal, it is more like a river that goes out to the sea. Thanks. tankmank: Looking great, and nice contrast between the skyscrapers and the ecological community. I was a bit worried it would clash. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks. RepublicMaster: I love the night shots, the water effects are spectacular! Yeah I'm having a bit too much fun with that effect right now. Thanks KonstantinII: I like how you have actual pictures of your city for the header and replies. I think you should make a different picture of city for the header every time from now on. By co-incident or not, I had a dream that I was driving on the highway through Ionica. Maybe I actually teleported myself? I would love to make a banner for each entry but that is a lot of work cause it is actually kind of hard to find pictures that are just right. I'll be changing it a bit more often, but not every entry. Thanks. zlotka: Lookja very well. Good job What is the tower with blue lights on top? I believe you're asking about the Equity Tower.

Here is a little preview of some of the things I've been working on recently mixed in with a few older things that have been improved or renewed. Below is a picture of a STEX Temple in Acropolis. I built this Zone a while back, but I just recently got around to adding some finishing touches. The next two pictures are from the newest tile I've been working on. I'm virtually complete and I don't want to be too boastful but it looks pretty amazing. Part of that is due to the fact that I'm using some of the newest top notch BATs and a certain set of custom marinas by OIScare/Benoit. Just a beautiful day in a little Zone we've visited before called Sun Bu'er. This little ecological community on the other side of the canal is also in Sun Bu'er and the canal you see flows into the marina of my newest tile which is connected to this one. A little slice of a small Zone I made to test out some PEG Marinas. I'll make a full update for this later on. Ah, now we get to the real meat and potatoes. The mosaics below are from the mostly redeveloped west side of Avalon. The roads and public transit have been vastly improved and this has allowed for much better use of the space. I'm still having a bit of trouble balancing out the Commercial and Residential. I need to make a few non-functional landmarks or reduce the amount of jobs for some of the big skyscrapers. Obligatory night shots. Comments, suggestions, and questions are always appreciated. Thanks for visiting. Schulmanator: Looks great! But I think I swatted a fly. Will that change the future? Or the past? Great Scott! I believe you changed the future for people in the present and you've changed the past for people in the future. Thanks. KonstantinII: I like the images. Only one moment. I see a canal going over a railroad. Wouldn't it be better for the railroad to go over the canal instead? Where does all the water go? Thanks. If you look closely you will see that there is a canal lock which allows the water to go over. Since both rail and canal were sunken I thought it would be fun to try having the canal go over the rail since this particular canal has a piece to allow sunken road or rail to pass underneath. Vitor13: That perfection! Thanks Victor. APSMS: No. Even with the fact that the underpass is a little shallow. Railroads/trains can't climb hills. Realistically speaking it'd take half the city to get a good slope to send the rails over the canal, which of course defeats the point of a sunken rail line. Some nice pictures here, though the clouds are a little distracting at times. I think you could use a ground to elevated rail piece from NAM and that would only take 4 or 5 squares. Thanks for your suggestion on the clouds, hard to hold back sometimes lol. rathefalcon: Beautiful. I especially liked the parks, and the night scenes had a great effect. Thanks rathefalcon. Stay tuned if you like those night scenes cause I got a whole bag full and it gets better. Roman_Samudra: Is this real life? *slaps my face...* Heh, thanks. Here is some ice for your swollen face. jmsepe: The awesomeness is too much to be defined. Thanks jmsepe. Terring: Awesome Hey Terring, thanks. NielsC007: Great work! Thanks. sarthakknight: I'm very very impressed by your update hell its cool !!!! and beautiful btw i want to know whether you would like to be a part of our cj union ?? if you are interested [url="http://simcitybuffs.icyboards.net/forumdisplay.php?fid=73"]http://simcitybuffs....play.php?fid=73 i would like you to submit an application here and then it's all easy . you are very very talented and we would love to have someone like you in our union!! till then cheers!! i forgot also please give your skype id. I am honored by your offer. We'll discuss this in a pm. Moerp: Dem' details O: This is more like art, than just usual playing There certainly is a process. Thanks Moerp. Richie99: Nice.I like the cloud effect. Thanks you Richie99. TekindusT: One more foggy and epic update! Hey Tek, thanks. Huston: Ionica - Where art and functionality collide to make a realistic urban masterpiece. I'm just following the footsteps of masters. Thanks. pingpong: As sweet as dream! Heh, that's kind of how I see it. Thanks pingpong.

It is still spring but the citizens of Ionica are yearning for those hot summer days and even hotter summer nights. Why can't it just come tomorrow? Well it can. Just use the Chronometric Reassignment Matrix App on your phone. Et voila! You have now been transported to summer in Ionica. Just don't interact with anyting or you could create a paradox that will unravel the very fabric of space time. (images now in 1080p) feeroz123: Another big one ! So many lights, so many buildings ! Looks very well planned. Brilliant work !! Where can I get the blue building having 'CIS' written on it? Thanks feeroz. That is Ill Tonkso's CIS Tower Manchester. Tonraq:I like it very much Thanks Tonraq, stay tuned. Schriefer:Wow! Another amazing update, as always, it's just perfect. Glad you liked it Shriefer, thanks. tankmank: Another great update, once again using BATs i never would have thought of using, they work all so well. You're making me blush, thanks. NielsC007: Looks great! Thanks Niels. Gugu3: Nice! Thank you Gugu. TekindusT: I never thought you could fit that "gothic" skyscraper in Ionica's skyline, but you have proven me wrong. BTW, I would say that this lighthouse is a bit pointless, among the kilowatts of light your skyscrapers are emitting! Keep the magic, man! When I saw NoFunk's One Detroit Center I just knew I had to fit it in somewhere. Glad you liked it. Yeah the lighthouse is useless, it is a vestige from a time before skyscrapers. andisart: Amazing! Sweet, thanks. sejr99999: thank you this is an excellent urban area with lots of nature to enjoy as well looks like a large city that is very livable with an interesting mix of building styles. Thanks for your support. Huston: The pictures in this update seem especially colorful, and the vividness of the corals in the baywater really adds to the scene Thanks, I'm really fond of the corals these days. Fox: Great job .. love the water front and the editing .. magnificent!! Thank you very much Fox. gigius76: Looking at these pictures you can say only one thing: it was done by Militantradical! An unmistakable style! Nice, thanks gigius.

A fuller view of that magical zone where Diamond Lake and the Black Stones Lighthouse can be found - Sierra. Enjoy! Comments, suggestions, and questions are always appreciated. Thanks for visiting. KonstantinII: Masterful city scene. I see all the buildings, asian style, 20th century "blocks", and modern buildings. Nice metropolis. Thank you very much KII, took a while to put together. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Schulmanator: Awesome! Henry the Octopus gives this 8 thumbs up! Thanks Henry. Let me shake all of your hands. feeroz123: So many new buildings !! Drooling.... Very nice city layout. Looks complex in traffic network. Thanks. I spend a lot of time thinking about which way buildings will be oriented and laying out the roads. tankmank: i like the building choices and layout, it gives a dense, highrise feel but mixed well with lots of open space for breathing Exactly what I was going for. Thanks. Schriefer: Awesome!! Really beautiful pictures and editing. The rain effect was great too. Glad you enjoyed the rain, thanks. TekindusT: The fog, the skyscrapers, the mystery, the nightlights, the kiloooooooooooometric update! I love it all! One of those updates that proves sometimes size does matter. Thanks. rewright: This is quite an update, and catches the energy of a large metropolis. Glad you felt it. Thanks. Neto Dari: Wow, very good, the modernity enchants. Indeed it does. Thank you. Vitor13: Our amazing that! Thanks. Lord Branham: Marvelous work!!!!!! Hey Branham, thank you. Paulobergonci: i like the buildings, nice choice. And the roads are pretty cool. Thanks. I'm using PEG UT Avenue Medians. dabadon5: When most simcities have a large amount of high rises it often looks like a mess, but not with this one, Very beautiful and well put together. Many of my cities were a mess at first. Takes some time to learn. Thanks. magalenin: Simply perfect! Thanks magalenin. paulmc: Very cool, I love the glow on the water ! congrats ! Yeah, glow on the water is my new thing. Can't stop doing it. Thanks. city89: very real looking but where did you get the low rise buildings in china town i been looking and asking all over and no one wants to help me. i would love to know so i can give my china town some flava and spice. If you want help with specific buildings just ask. Many of the Chinatown buildings can easily be found on the ST/Exchange by using the search terms: Japanese or Hong Kong. Thanks. 3ZZZS: Wow, just wow. I love the layout of the city. The metropolis just has this really nice feel to it! 10/10 Thanks 3ZZZS, stay tuned. SimRico: Nice addition to the weekly tour of featured cities. We're always happy to have you. Thanks. NielsC007: Amazing, great work! Thanks.

Break out your holographihc projectors, tonight is Summoning. What is Summoning? Summoning or The Summoning is the opposite of Halloween which Ionica also celebrates. Whereas Halloween is about celebrating death, demons, and sorcery, Summoning is about celebrating life, angels, and white magic. Summoning is actually a relatively modern creation and was unintentionally started by Holografic graffiti artists. In the mid-twenty-first century a group of Holo-Artists decided to set up a massive prank with new holographic technology at the time. They broadcasted holographic images of spiritual apparitions all around the city in order to make people believe that angels were being summoned from the heavens, and it worked. It was like the first time people heard Orson Well's War of the Worlds on the radio. For a brief moment many people actually believed in magic. After that it became a yearly event and eventually Mayor Jon Daily had the night of March 11th officially declared The Summoning. The best Holo-Artists from around Ionica are now commissioned by the city to create displays around the city. Freedom Rising by Jack Wilder in Pater Kodama Angel by Alex Zhang in Sierra A Greeting to our Friends in the Feline Galaxy by Thaddeus Bradley Beckoning Angel on top of the Tressler Insurance Tower by Henley Reeves An ode to Van Gogh's Starry Night by Arthur Lemay. In a big city like Ionica it is rare to see the sky full of bright stars but during Summoning anything is possible. (Original image by Solemone) If you live in Sierra you don't need all that fancy holographic technology to believe in magic because you already have Diamond Lake and the Black Stones Lighthouse. Skyward Spirits by Jasmine Blaine in Pater Finger of God by Dylan Rhodes in Avalon This is the hologram that started it all - The Summoning by J. Daniel Atlas in Avalon. Special thanks to Houston for giving me a tutorial on how to create hologram effects. Comments, suggestions, and questions are always appreciated. Thanks for visiting. tankmank: What a great update, the lake is so beautiful, especially at night Hey tankman, thanks. feeroz123: Awesome !! That lake deserves the name.. Very well created!! Glad you enjoyed it feeroz123. juliok92012: I Love the Farol at night, Very Good. Don't wanna toot my own horn too much but I do too! Thanks. blunder: Love the night luminescent effects in the water. Great stuff. Thanks. It was actually a last minute idea. gigius76: Amazing update! The picture with the lighthouse is art. I hold your praise in high regards. Thanks. freemunchies: Which seawalls are those? They fit really well! I also really like the detail you put into the water with various mmps! Those are JENXPARIS Quais de Seine Riverbank walls. KonstantinII: Grid busting! I really like those diagonals. The whole city feels like San Francisco The raised transit park fits well. The one I downloaded wasn't transit enabled for some reason. I did something and it got undemolishable lot syndrome. After that I was able to pass my freeway right under it but not destroy it. Thanks KonstantinII. I hate un-demolishable lot syndrome. TekindusT: As charming as usual! I love Ionica! Ionica loves you too Tek. Thanks. Schulmanator: Raised transit parks FTW!! Awesome! First time I have seen that! First time? Really? Makes me feel special. I'm glad I popped your RTP cherry. Huston: Love the effects on the water! Really does make it the much more beautiful! Thanks. I was kind of inspired by something you did in your Pyronatalis Christmas entry. Crazyforsimcity: Now this deserves a clap! Love it! Cheers, thanks. pingpong: Oh, the lighthouse, the boat, the sea and the sky, so charming and so calming Hey pingpong, thanks. Lord Branham: Your city is gorgeous! I am in love with your water and sea life; you are truly an artist!! Glad you enjoy it LB. Gugu3: Nice pictures! Thanks. SimRico: Back in Ionica on another Around the World Tour Of Featured Cjs and love it! Heading over to Chinatown to one of my favorite spots and get "Phatt and Phed!".. Will have to jump on the plane early in the morning, so better make my rounds to say hey to my friends here! Hilarious! Hope you enjoy Summoning. Schriefer: Amazing pictures! Nice job. Thank you Shriefer.

"If you want it, you can have it, all you gotta do it believe in magic." That's what they said while building Sierra, this small but beautiful Zone that looks out onto Diamond Lake. It is called Diamond Lake because legend has it that on a clear night when the stars shine their brightest you can dip any object into its waters and it will become encrusted with jewels. A little bit of music to set the mood... Very expensive Ionican real estate that looks out onto Diamond Lake. The view is amazing, you'll see. How 'bout a round of Tennis on one of Ionica's first Raised Transit Parks? The Twin Lions of Sierra, two black onyx lion statues, still hold their guard after hundreds of years. The beautiful blue Talavera Office Park looks down on the Twin Lions and out onto Diamond Lake. Executive offices must be sweet! If you come to Sierra don't forget to stop at Benny's Bistro Barge. The food is great, inexpensive, and the view is amazing. Of course the main attraction which can't be missed is the Black Stones Lighthouse. You can admire its beauty from land or you can charter a tour to take you on the water if you want to see it up close. I suggest going on the water because you can also get a great view of the marine life. If you're lucky you already live in the Orion Tower and have the best view of the entire lake. When the sun goes down you can understand why the builders of Sierra believed in magic. The best time to get on the water is when the light of the moon or the bright stars pierce through the water of the lake. Only then can you truly appreciate how the Legend of Diamond Lake came to be. Been to Benny's Bistro Barge for lunch? Well you need to go there again for dinner. After the sun and a bit of booze flows has set the atmosphere becomes a bit more lively. Their dinner menu is also amazing. If you're up for more adventure head down to a bar near the Twin Lions, if not get a bus. Workin' late at my job in the Talavera Office Park to get a promotion so that I can have one of those sweet executive offices! Now that we've had a few drinks lets go for a Tennis rematch. Comments, suggestions, and questions are always appreciated. Thanks for visiting. Moerp: It's just awesome, you really brought kind of a exotic feeling in your pictures, just great! Glad you got the feeling I was trying to convey. TekindusT: Amazing update and amazing pictures! Thanks Tek. KonstantinII: I just like this feeling of a dense city. Even though everything is tightly packed together it does not seem out of place. Looks like in these shops items can be bought for a price much cheaper than in malls Avalon. Also you can use these futuristic asian buildings for this district. Thanks for passing along those buildings. I actually have some of them. I may have used them here but you just can't see them from these angles. Gugu3: Very nice Chinatown you have there! Nice, thanks. freemunchies:Great job! All those buildings go really well together! They were all carefully selected. Thanks. Schulmanator: Nice! Looks good and quite real. Sweet, I kinda took a page from Bastet and gigius. MatTSW: I can feel this Chinese chaos. And this guy w CCCP blouse... Heheh, yeah that guy. He was looking pretty dazed so i managed to snap a few shots of him just standing there like that. Fox: Fantastic looking Chinatown area.. very envious. A feeling I've experienced when visiting your CJ. Thanks. jmsepe: Nice Chinatown there! Where did you get those buildings, btw? Tough question cause there are a lot of buildings but you can find some of the newest Japanese W2W buildings here. tankmank: Lovely Chinatown, i like the use of SC4 pictures and self taken photographs it adds a lot more to the update, transporting you to the streets. It is a shame that in SC4 you can't go down and get street views of your city. Lord Branham: Fantastic work, really reminds me of the Chinatown in San Francisco! Ah yes, I didn't realize that. The front gate is kind of reminiscent of SF's Chinatown, except it isn't on a slope. Schriefer: Nice Chinatown! It's really beautiful! Thanks. SimRico: Was planning my trip to Ionica for months! Glad to have added this stop to my Weekly Around The World Tour of Featured Cities! I am off to some night-life fun and see you at the net sun! Hope you had your fill of really amazing food in Ionica's Chinatown.

Although Asian cultural influences can be seen all around Ionica there is still one place everyone lovingly refers to as Chinatown: the Fenghuang (Phoenix) Street Market in Walden II. Every side street is packed with activity and the odor of food, good and bad, attacks your nose from all directions. This is the southern entrance of the Fenghuang Market, it is generally considered to be the front entrance of Chinatown since it faces Sao Sing Sa park but others consider the North side the entrance because it faces the street with a tram line and station. At the end of the day it doesn't really matter it just gets a bit confusing when you make plans to meet at the front. (All of the photographs in this entry are taken by me.) Streets in downtown Ionica can get pretty packed but they are nothing like Chinatown where it so full of people you're practically walking shoulder to shoulder with the person next to you. The north gate of Fenghuang market on a rainy day. If you didn't bring an umbrella just pop in the nearest 7/11 and buy one, or wait it out one of the famous tea houses (I recommend Pavilion of the White Peony). Even the alleys are filled with little shops that sell all kinds of cheap knock-off bobbles and trinkets. It feels just like Hong Kong. The brown Kowloon-style building at the top left of this image is one of the oldest buildings in the area and inside you can still find one of the best, multi-Micheline star winning Dim Sum restaurants: Drunken Immortals (4th floor). The market gets even busier at night when business man and women come looking for some food and entertainment, but don't worry there is plenty of that to go around. Jenny's food cart around the corner from the Apple store sells some of the best Korean food in all of Ionica. Order anything and you are guranteed to be satisfied. If you're hestitant I recomment you at least try the Hotteok, a cinnamon and brown sugar pancake, fried on a griddle (too delicious!). Freddy Wong, a lively shop owner in Fenghuang, stares blankly at shoppers as his long day of work nears an end. At the end of the night street vendors pack it up and go home for some well earned rest, leaving the streets eerily desolate and silent. Comments, suggestions, and questions are always appreciated. Thanks for visiting. Schriefer: Great job again! You details and editing are so perfect... Thanks Schriefer. Gugu3: Very nice! Thnk you very much. blunder: Congratz on 50 entries! This CJ has so much win. Wow thanks. I'm glad you see it that way. TekindusT: These mosaics alone are a master on how to use everything with "HK" in front of its name! I'm honored by this compliment. HK is one of the biggest inspirations for Ionica. NielsC007: Good job! Thanks. Lord Branham: Fantastic work again!!!! You are so brilliant in your layout and tedious work ethic, which is clearly evident in your cities!! Love it! Thanks Lord Branham. Stay tuned! KonstantinII: I'm nominate you! Thank you so much Konstantin for all your support and your help. feeroz123: So many lights all over the entry ! Twinkling ! *** Just call me Mr. Sparkle! SimRico: Landed in Ionica just now on my weekly Around The World Tour of Featured CIties! The good folks of The Docs sends their Greetings as well as the Peytoners-Stepford Islanders. Staying at the highrize district and plenty room service as welll as cultural events to take in.Will stay overnight after an eloquent dinner and off i go tomorrow morning for the next city! Hope you enjoyed your stay. We'll roll out the red carpets for you any time you want to come back. SimCoug: Sorry, I'm trying to play catch-up and I just noticed this entry - awesome work with those nbvc marinas! Yes, be sorry, be very sorry. Thanks. Benedict: 50 entries is a fantastic achievement - great to see Ionica last this long. And this was another wonderful update. Hopefully you'll be back in business soon. Hey Ben, my computer is up and running again. SC4 up and running for the most part. Thanks.

My 50th entry! This is the third and final part of my Marina Fun series. This time I am using nbvc's modular marina add on. I've noticed that I'm very fond of paulvmonfort's HK Grand Terrace. I think it is because it is a very beautiful building that faces diagonally but isn't actually a diagonal building. The hard drive on my PC is dying and I recently ordered a new one. Hopefully I won't be out of the game for too long. Comments, suggestions, and questions are always appreciated. Thanks for visiting. Ln X: Nice! Great mosaics and habour area. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks. TekindusT: This is pure magic, once again! Thanks. I've cast a spell on you and now you're mine! Schriefer: What!? It's perfect *------* Great job! Hey Schriefer, thanks. Schulmanator: Awesome pix! I feel your pain on the computer... I tried to update iTunes and all I got was a fried CPU! Thanks Schul'. Update iTunes, then fried CPU? Damn that sucks. At least a got a solid 7-8 years out of that hard drive. I think it was a power outage that crippled it. KonstantinII: Love all the sights! Where did you get the small boats, in the water? They are nbvc Sailboats and Divers and Boats. gigius76: Beautiful mosaic. I really like the colors of this city. Thanks gigius76. Huston: Damn, hope you can break some ground on progress, losing data is always #####. But the work on right now looks really great. Now you're making me feel the need to start backing up my files (got no back ups yet and my last ext. hard drive was practically fried so I lost any backups I had there too ). Thanks. Yes you need to backup your files. I have 2 sc4 backups. One is on an external hard drive, the other is on a USB stick. I need a bigger USB stick for backups tho because my plugins folder is nearing 8gb. tankmank: Looking great, i loving the way everything fits so well Sweet, thanks. feeroz123: Nice one. First time I saw the walls inside water ! Brilliant. Glad you noticed that. Thanks.

Those of you who visited my Christmas CJ entry have already seen bits and pieces of what I am about to show you. This entry is the first of a three part series where I will show you some Marina styles I experimented with. To create these Marinas I used nbvc's Marinas, nbvc's Modular Breakwater Set, JENX Quais de Seine (revisited) which I don't like as much as the originals, paeng Castle Walk and Castle Walls, kazuki's Red Brick Walls, Walls Pack 2, and a variety of underwater mmps mainly by nbvc. Enjoy! Click on images to see full resolution. Comments, suggestions, and questions are always appreciated. Thanks for visiting. TekindusT: I would love to see some Simlympics coming from you! With that mix between the realism and the impossible that has amazed a lot of people here! Thanks, I hope my Simplympics can live up to expectations. I've already seen some really good ones in the past. gigius76: A bigger scale marina is amazing! I like the symmetry. Hey gigius76, glad you like it, thanks. If you look closely and from another angle you can see the symmetry is only 90%. Schulmanator: A seriously ambitious project! I look forward to seeing how it goes. Thanks Schulmanator, good to have you along for the ride. Stay tuned! KonstantinII: Very impressive Thanks for your continued support KonstantinII. Fox: You certainly did stun me with with update! Love the university gardens and the marina .. amazing as well as the Olympic area. I love the .gif at the start, really shows how drastically you've changed the place from the original, but some of the ideas have been good. Thanks. Last time I actually meant that I hoped I would stun you with the next iteration of my University, not next CJ entry, but I'm glad you were stunned anyway. Lord Branham: Absolutely marvelous!!! Cannot wait to see more of your wonderful world! Thanks. You won't have to wait long. Ln X: THIS. IS... simcity!?! I've got to admit you seem to have all the styles dialed. Fully modded SC4 certainly is a whole new monster. Thanks. It has taken me a while to get to this point. If you go look at my earlier entries you can see that. Huston: Ahh, I can't wait with all the stuff you've prepared for future updates Thanks mate. krbe: So the airport has been abandoned in favour of a spaceport? Not the worst idea, but I still believe you'd need an airport for more "local" trips. And yes, they are daunting, especially the runways which you are likely to need anyway... But remember BriPizza has made us wide-runway tiles (finally)! Maybe a bit more work, but the result is infinitely better. You ought to move the spaceport (and especially launch pads) away from built-up areas though... Just in case they trip over and explode. What about a major air- / spaceport and minor airports in cities though? Unless you're a fan of HSR of course. The suburbs looks quaint and liveable - and a lot better than they do up here in Copenhagen! And the marinas... Those are looking really good. I'm used to large systems of piers and boats close up to cities, so any wealthy areas with lots of water and islands around would have lots of boats floating around. Whoa mega comment! I love it. The airport has been abandoned in favor of a spaceport/airport. It is going to be two things in one I hope. The spaceport you see in those pictures are really outdated concepts. I will make sure to have any rocket propelled spacecraft away from built up areas. Thanks for passing along those BriPizza wide runway tiles. I will use them for sure. dossenaandrea: WOW!!! where did u get that pedestrian bridge in the 5th picture? thanks I believe it is the Bendy Bridge by Murimk. Bipin: Great work! I love how you've used my turbo roundabouts, just as intended! Thanks. When it is finished you'll see that there is a turbo roundabout on each side of that bridge and when surrounded by buildings it looks pretty damn cool. Only problem is that the night lighting is too dark for Maxis Night. I still need to take a screenshot of that for you. Gannet: I've never attempted a large metropolis myself. Maybe you can zoom out a bit, and show us a mosaic of the whole region, how everything looks as put together? Still needs a lot of work. My region in currently composed of 29 functioning tiles that are all precisely connected and maintain continuity. #1SithLord: Simply amazing. The amount of detail that went into each aspect of your city is simply incredible! Awesome stuff! Glad you notice it. Thanks. Xander Dax: Amazing!, though where did you get the red asian monument and trees from the park in the 12th picture?. Thanks. I provided a link for the Asian Monument here.

To kick off this 2014 season I give you a preview of what to expect in my CJ over the next few months. Some are projects that are nearly finished, others are plans I have for the future. Avalon Those who are familiar with my CJ will recognize the GIF below as Avalon, the heart of Ionica. I've almost finished rebuilding, all that is left to do is add a few more buildings such as The Shard London Bridge by Xyloxadoria and IFC2 v3 by paulvmonfort. It is still going to take a while for this tile to be complete. Even after I press the play button and allow buildings to grow I am going to have to go in and manually place a few buildings. If you look closely you can see my custom lot of the Shanghai Oriental Pearl Tower which uses the base texture of the red brick walls that have become part of Ionica's style. GIF below may take a few seconds to load. This is a closeup of some of my zoning in Avalon. Some buildings are placeholders, others are non-functional landmarks and space-fillers. I recently pressed the Play button and I've realized that I've zoned too many commercial areas. I usually like to have an even ratio between commercial and residential but right now my commercial is much too high. New City Hall and Government Administration Center in Veritas Veritas used to be a very cluttered and dense metropolis much like Avalon. Now it is being rebuilt from the ground up as much more neatly organized and spacious area. There is still a lot to be done in this tile. I'd say it is only 30% complete and it is going to take quite a while to finish because many of it's elements are very ambitious. I also just acquired NAM32 and that has added a whole bunch of new things I have to learn how to use. Simlympic Park in Veritas These are a couple of close up shots of the area around the main Stadium. Can't show you that much right now because it is in a fairly raw state and I don't want to give away everything just yet. Suburbs/Low Density Residential Areas If you've been following my CJ then you've seen a few attempts at making low density residential areas. I intend to have more of these this year even though I haven't started work on any yet. There are a few things I need to get sorted out with SAM; just need to delete a red brick override mod I'm using. Shouldn't be hard. Marinas My next few CJ entries will focus on three tiles in which I experimented with nbvc's marinas. Some of you have already seen parts of them in my Christmas CJ entry. I need to re-download some PEG marinas because I have missing dependencies and need to figure out what they are. I also recently downloaded Olscare and Benoit's Mediterranean Marinas along with all the dependencies. Not sure when and where I'll use them. This is a bigger scale marina I have in the works but it is going to take a while for the rest of the tile to be finished so you probably won't see it for a while. Little J-Town Ionica features a lot of Asian W2W buildings but I've never really made an fully Asian area before. It is kind of a small homage to the all great Japanese style CJs. This area has been finished for a while, just waiting for the right time to show it. Ogma University Another big project for this year, as mentioned in my previous entry, is Ogma University. I want to start rebuilding it soon, but I also don't want to get sidetracked from completing other things I've nearly finished. Industrial Seaports Currently the only industrial seaport in Ionica is in Avalon. My city needs more, a lot more. After I download a few more modular seaport sets I'm going to start construction on a few test tiles where I will experiment with certain construction styles and determine which are the best. This has a very high priority and I should be starting pretty soon. Hopefully you'll see more examples of industrial seaports in the next few months. Industrial & Agricultural Areas This is another element that is lacking in Ionica and is on my high priority list. I want to do something like in the pictures below but done on a really massive scale. Just have to figure out where I want to put it. Airport/Spaceport A while back I was working on an Airport which I later abandoned in favor of another idea. I'm still acquiring the materials necessary to construct it and it will probably take a while for me to get to it. It is quite a daunting task because I know it will be very difficult and will take a lot of time but Ionica will not be complete until I have constructed it. The Military Industrial Complex Ionica is not a nation of war but I do believe it should have the means to fight them if necessary. This is another idea I probably won't start working on for a while, but it is always in the back of my mind and I'm on the lookout for modern and futuristic military BATs. That's it for now. Your comments and suggestions are always appreciated. Thanks. Lord Branham: I rather like it!! Just out of curiosity I was wondering if you could tell me the name of the colored building at the bottom of the first picture and the name of the white marble house in the second picture near the top? I think the first building you are talking about is the Old University and the white marble building is the NYTB Metropolitan Club. nos.17: I absolutely love it! I have never seen the university pack used to this extent. I would suggest that you add a lot more parking, whether it be above or underground, and some mid-rise on-campus student housing/dorms. Definitely +1 Thanks for your suggestions. If you look in the last pic where you see the whole layout of the University you will notice that I had already started a few mid-rise residential areas for the students. Good call on the parking. TekindusT: I concur with your opinion, I also find it really tight. With that variety of BATs you could perfectly cover a 4x4 tile only with university-related stuff, why not trying it? I'm sure it will be epic. Thanks TekindusT, part of me really wants to do it on a really big tile, but at the same time I realize the bigger the tile the longer it will take. I'll have to think about it. Huston: That's quite the university you've built, and Tekindus' suggestion of building it on small city tile. Very ideal. Hey Huston, thanks. Like I told TekindusT, I'll have to think a bit more about the tile size. One thing I didn't mention in my University entry is that I want to have a Prothean Reaserch Department area where I use some of your ME BATs. SimRico: Very nice Thanks. 47ply: I like it good job Thank you. Stay tuned. Basilins: A castle in a university ? I'd heard such a thing, so I suggest that you can put something else instead of the castle. Yet, it looks well. And in first picture, there is a huge walking way between the building. You can put a forest park in there. There are trees but if you put forest in or around the campus it would look better, I think. It looks the university more "green". Good job.. Thanks a lot for your suggestions. I definitely want to have a forest somewhere in or around the campus. You and a few other people have commented on the castle in the University; I'll think long and hard before placing it in my new one. Schulmanator: Looks cool. I like it! Hey Schulman! Thanks. John2098: It looks great! You should post is on the ST/Exchange. Thanks John2098. Unfortunately for you this University is not a consolidated Lot that can be downloaded. However, you can download the Clayhurst Starter Pack which i advertized and make your own unique University. #1SithLord: Nice University! What majors are offered? Thanks. If I had to make a list of all the Majors it would be way to long. Ace❤: Great University Militant! Having visited Harvard, Emory, and M.I.T campuses recently, I totally see what you're going for. Only thing I'm hesitant on is that castle. It just looms over everything... Good suggestions. The reason I have the castle is because of the European/British element I wanted to add. I had this idea that the land the University is on was donated by some royal family or nobility which is why there is a castle on the grounds. If I decide to keep the castle I will certainly think long and hard about how and where to place it. Maybe it shouldn't be directly in the campus but further away, maybe overlooking the campus would be nice. Lord Branham: Thank you very much, and once again Marvelous work!!! My pleasure. Fox: Stunning layout of the university .. and I love the choices for the sporting facilities. Thanks, I hope to stun you even more with the next one. Hazani Pratama: Great University! Good to see you Hazani, thanks! KonstantinII: It is realistic. Are the gray streets functional? You can use these buildings for your university I'm pretty sure the grey streets are functional because they have a piece that connects to streets and roads. However I have never pressed the play button on that tile so I don't know for sure. Thanks for passing along that list of buildings. I had most of them and some of the ones by kellydale are the reason I decided to restart my University.

Thank you to all those who visited, commented, and rated my CJ in the past year. I was only able to bring you half the amount of entries as last year due to certain delays and complications (I spilled water into my computer), but I think the quality has improved a lot and I hope to continue that trend. Right now I'm just building up a lot of material so that when I do make a 'comeback' I will have lots of great stuff to show and I'll be able to do that a bit more consistently. Thanks to KonstantinII, I finally managed to get the Loteditor working and I'm crafting some custom Lots that I'll hopefully be able to share with you if they're good enough and I can get permission. I would also like to thank all the Modders and BATers whose hard work, creativity, talent, and devotion keep SC4 alive and make it better than ever. The following images are from some of the new tiles I've been working on. After nbvc released these marina's I decided to give them a try. I was also inspired by some of paeng's and Fox's work, but I'm nowhere near that level. The last three mosaics in the series are x-masfied versions of images I used to create the video in my previous entry. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

This video is best when viewed in 720p. Enjoy. darkaliendude: im sorry if this was already asked. how do you make those gifs? they're so cool. Photoshop + tutorial found on google. tankmank: Looking great as usual. I love the mix of buildings and the use of rl images from Hong Kong and Dubai. The night shots are so beautiful with all the different colour lights. Thanks. sri2: Needless to say, i am stunned by your cj once again. just a question, though, are there any lower-income neighborhoods in Avalon? just wondering, as the whole place seems dreamy and expensive! Thank you. I've always imagined that the lower-income neighborhoods are actually underground. I have I few ways I intend to show this in a future CJ entry. Titanicbuff: love the last pic and how the stadium is lit. Thanks. I just took the lighting that the BAT already had and made a gif. RepublicMaster: I'm enjoying that nightlife. Hope you had fun. Thanks. Lord Branham: Absolutely Marvelous!!! Love your usage of buildings from Dubai! My family and I visited the great city over the summer and it gave me so much inspiration for my own city! Definitely a city to visit in ones lifetime! Once again phenomenal work! Wow you're so lucky. Sounds like you really enjoyed it. It is always good to try and take inspiration from cities you've been to. I went to Hong Kong a while back and the way I make my cities and place buildings has changed a lot. KonstantinII: I like Avalon very much. I think I'll visit Ionica someday. We will roll out the red carpet for you! Thanks KonstantinII. Hazani Pratama: Party Time! House music! TekindusT: You had my attention at "night out", but the update has just blown my mind! I'm really glad you enjoyed and drew inspiration from this entry! Thanks TekindusT. elavery: Some amazing stuff here. Same thing could be said about your CJ elavery. Thanks. nedal2001: This looks like a very lively, very colorful place to be. Your pictures are incredible. Thanks nedal2001, stay tuned. Ace❤: Agreed, I hate trolls like that. The animation and city life in every single pixel of these pictures is absolutely gorgeous MilitantRadical. Don't let them get you down. 5/5 from me. Oh well it happens. Thanks Aceheart! APSMS: The RHW is a separate network, so it will not interfere your existing MHW (Maxis Highways). Make sure to leave the Maxis Highway Override unchecked (project Symphony), because that will affect your MHW. The RHW itself, however, has no conflict (I have both in my cities). Wow. Thanks a lot for this information. Things just got really interesting. cityguru: I like major metropolians! One of the latest pictures is Avic Eric lol. Yup. Eric is one of the best chefs in the city. Thanks Fox: Fantastic update and love the idea of those rooftop bars and lounges .. remind me to buy you a drink my friend next time I drop in to favorite city. Thanks for that drink mate, but I have to warn you I don't kiss on the first date. Sylvio Jorge: So colorful and beautiful! I love the feeling of the CJ. I usually hate dense metropolis, but you make them look alive with parks, canals and historical buildings. Simply stunning. Well there are just so many amazing BATs i can't ignore. Thanks. SimCoug: Another great update - very colorful! Me too! And I know it's going to bite me someday. Yes, forgetting to save your photoshop files will bite you in the ass, like it did me this week. It would have saved me a lot of work. Thanks. Thanks for your support and comments.

Every once and a while I like to pull back the curtains to show you what I'm doing behind the scenes. Lately I've been alternating on working on three Zones. The first is Avalon which I've been working on repairing for months. Avalon is the only Zone that has survived the move over to my new region (Ionica) and I don't want to start from zero because I think it has some distinct features that are part of Ionica's identity. In the GIF below you see Avalon in 4 stages of development. The first one, with a lot of beaches, is Avalon c. 2058. The second is from 2198, right before the bicentennial. The beaches have been replaced by rocks and retaining walls and there is an updated version of the bird's nest stadium. The third is from around 2238 in which substantial changes in the upper 3rd of the Zone and the core have been made. The final image in the GIF is from 2250, and that is what Avalon currently looks like. I am very close to being able to press the play button and am almost itching to do so, but I have to do a few final checks. One of the biggest improvements which I haven't shown here are the subways. It would be too embarrassing to show you what a mess they were, but that has been sorted out. I also changed the Bird's nest stadium because I intend on using it somewhere else. Best to click on this GIF to know which image is the first. I forgot to put a date on each pic. The island in the lower third of Avalon has been totally changed. For a very long time I had a Maxis airport there but it doesn't make any sense to have an airport in the middle of dense city so that has been replaced by two heliports. As you can see the roads used to be a total disaster so I've attempted to bring order. Shout out to Bipin for the Turbo Roundabout which I am using for the first time here. Older versions of Avalon had huge problems of roads crossing rails but now i've used either elevated roads or underpasses to improve the flow of traffic. The waterfront has also been improved with two shipping ports and the coast guard. Again, the convoluted network of avenues has been simplified and rails have either been elevated or directed to subterranean lines. A highway that cut across the city has also been removed because it was redundant. This is the newest Zone I'm building called Walden II. It is on a medium sized tile connected to Pater (the blitzball zone). The canal you see is the continuation of the canal that runs through Pater. They are moonlight Downtown Canals. This is a picture from Veritas. I'm currently remaking the Zone from scratch starting with City Hall, which you see below, and the government buildings I want to have at the center. Terring: Impressive as always Thanks for staying tuned in. TekindusT: I love the magical and mysterious aura everything has on this CJ... Thanks. Kind of going for that Wally Pfister Dark Knight look. Ace❤: The reflection of that cruise admist all those skyscrapers is hauntingly beautiful. Amazing work! Thanks. It wasn't originally my plan to have an entry featuring Photoshopped yachts, but after I tried that one I was like: "Eureka! This is it." simcityplayer15: Wow, what amazing sites you've built here . It looks so active. Great city and job good sir I'm glad you like it. Thanks. sejr99999: thank you for this tour of your splendid city at night Love it! Thanks. 80sreject: You are an artist, beautiful! Yes, go ahead, stroke my...I was going to say ego. Thanks. Lord Branham: Marvelous!!!! I still adore your mastery of this game! Love the last picture!!!! Once again Bravo!! Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks. sri2: amazing. and the last pic- just stunning. is that actually a stadium, a lot you got somewhere? seems very nicely integrated here. nice job! Thanks. It is the Zanarkand Blitzball Stadium. Schulmanator: VERY cool! Nicely done and looks AWESOME! Thanks. KonstantinII: Where did you get those boats? Unfortunately the are Photoshopped in there. Hazani Pratama: Beautiful! Thanks. tankmank: Amazing once again, love the use of the canals in your city, it breaks up the urban expanse and skyscrapers. One suggestion would be to download a different train for your railway, i think it would look a lot better Thanks for your input. I've been meaning to get a new train for my railway but just kept putting it off. Your comment gave me the right kick in the butt I needed. This pic is for you. RepublicMaster: Everything fits nicely! I like the canals and the photoshopping brings out feel of the update! Thank you very much. ThomasSimpson: Fantastic! It looks really good, I like the way you built the city up around the cove. Thanks. It was something I was planning for a while but didn't know how to do until my 'skills' reached a certain point. CorpusDei: That 2nd to last picture, with the curving RHW and SimPeg Parks (IIRC) doesn't even look like SC4 any more - it looks way more amazing. What a fine compliment. Thanks a lot. I think you are looking at a simple avenue. Unfortunately I don't have RHW and I don't think I can install it right now. Sylvio Jorge:SO beautiful! Like CorpusDei said, it doesn't even looks like SC4 anymore. Awesome. Thanks. kalsim23: Is that the Zanarkand blitzball stadium from Final Fantasy X? It is indeed. SimCoug: Great work - I really liked the last image with the moon reflection. Thanks. I almost wanted to go with the boy in the moon logo from Dreamworks. It didn't work as well.

Ionica is a waterfront city and when the weather is right you can always find many of it's citizens in, on, or by the water. August is a special in Ionica because it is the Nautical Festival month where events like rowing, sailing, paddling, and yachting take place all around the city. It is at this time of the year, when it is a bit cooler, and the breeze a bit stronger, that Ionicans like to stay out on the water late into the night and early hours of the morning. The canal that crosses through Sagittarius goes through 12 other Zones and can take you all the way around the city. However certain areas are restricted to certain sizes of vehicles. The speed limit is also very low and there are heavy fines for violating those limits. They are strictly for leisure. The cruise ship and ferry port in Avalon is an access point to nearly every corner of the city. Even though the water is considered quite clean (not suitable for human consumption) in the canals, people are forbidden from swimming. This is simply due to the fact that some parts of the canal can be very narrow and other boats can pose risks to swimmers. Every citizen with a motorized marine vehicle must have a separate license to use it in the canals. This requires them to know the safety regulations when navigating through them. Speed regulations are highly enforced during Nautical Month because there is much more traffic on the water, even at night (in certain areas). The canal in Pater (the Blitzball Zone) isn't connected to any other canals. It simply cuts across Pater and Walden II. The canal also preserves the stream that was once in it's place. Until construction finishes and more ports are open in Veritas again, the best place to be during the Nautical Festival is Pater where the Blitzball stadium floats in the middle of an octagon that opens up to the sea. Every August the hotels, waterfronts, and ports, welcome hundreds of thousands of people from Ionica and around the Sim world. Terring: Very beautiful, I like the layout of the buildings Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. KonstantinII: Gotta love those suburbs. Seemed like everyone else was having fun with suburbs, so I decided it was my turn. Thanks. Hazani Pratama: nice city! Thanks for following along so far Hazani spursrule14: Thanks! sri2: 10th pic down Find the brown box. And excellent choice of buildings on the diagonal roads. Love it! Good eye. Glad you enjoyed that arrangement of those buildings. i wasn't sure how it was going to turn out and I actually forgot a specific element I meant to include. RepublicMaster: I see it. Nice city! I like that suburban high street! Sweet. Thanks. Lord Branham: As always, a splendid job! I just stare in aw at your magnificent parks and use of water! Once again marvelous work and looking forward to you next post! Really happy you enjoyed it so much. I'll keep pushing myself in the hope of meeting your expectations. SimCoug: Is that like a SC4 version of 'Where's Waldo'? Great images - the diagonal streets with those repetitious apartment buildings gives a very futuristic feeling. It could be. The brown box of course wasn't intentional, so i decided to turn it into a bit of a game to avoid having someone nitpick it. Thanks. tankmank: Can't believe i've never seen this CJ before. It is a great mix of different buildings that i would never have thought would go together. Great work, i can't wait to see more Hey tankmank. Thanks for taking the time to look back on my CJ. Good time to start following because I'm in the middle of some major construction right now. Gonna take some time to complete, but it will hopefully blow away some of the stuff I've already done.

Welcome back to In this entry we continue to explore the Sarai Ecological Community. Enjoy. All of the buildings that once stood in this mostly undeveloped area are now gone, except for the historic Von Roo Mill, which is now a gift shop. Here you can see one of the two models of homes available in the Ecological Community. All of the homes come with an Aquaponic Greenhouse and a swimming pool. Things like tennis courts, conservatories (which the model below has), statues, ponds, and playgrounds are optional. Below is the second model of house available in the Ecological Community. Each house is as energy efficient and self sustaining as possible. To achieve this, all of the homes have geothermal generators, which make them independent from each Zone's localized power grids. BBQ Night, every night. Keep an eye on your small dogs, I see a couple eagles over-head. Sleep well Ionica. Replies Ace❤: Always nice to see a highly detailed update from you. Great work with the parks. Perhaps those pesky kids were aiming for the flamingos? Thanks Ace. Feels good to be back. Nah, the kids weren't aiming for the flamingos, it is just what happens when you have a lot of birds around ball parks. Terring: Very nice Thanks. Forthwall: Pretty I like the parks! Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks. 89James89: Some very nice neighborhoods you've got there. Cheers. James Thank you. Huston: The really vibrant colors in these images make them really 'spring to life' (It would've been a pun if it were a season before ). I have to really admire the way the park is laid out, very serene. Let's just hope that the number of flamingos hit this year by rogue baseballs are zero lol thanks. I like to bump up the saturation of bit to get that vibrancy. Yes, lets pray for those poor pink birds. Shortsonfire: Wow, love all the vibrant trees here. So many different types. Your park section is very unique, love all the different colors. Thanks. Took a long time to build. I'm glad you appreciated it. Hazani Pratama: The Park is Amazing! Thank you. KonstantinII: I see the ecological communities. All as is planned. Nothing left out. Nice to ride a bike though this park! Thanks for your help so far. i haven't had a chance t encorporate all your lots yet. More to come. kissflp: Very nice park indeed, exciting and lively. Where did you find that baseball field/ballpark? Thanks. I can't remember off the top of my head. Maybe if you post it in the Can't Find forum someone will know. SimCoug: Great ballparks - Wasn't it Randy Johnson who killed a seagull, or some type of bird with a fastball? Baseball and birds do not mix. Thanks. Not sure who it was who killed a bird, but I've seen a few examples as far as I remember. Lord Branham: Magnificent! I love the use of the water, it reminds me a bit of my home town where the houses back right into rivers leading to the lake! Great job as usual! Cool, I'm glad it evoked that memory. Thanks. Thanks for stopping by.

Welcome back to Last week a showed you a park my newest zone. That is just a fraction of a much bigger park called the Sarai Ecological Community in th middle of a low density residential neighborhood. This community, like many others in Ionica is based on the principles of Ecological Urbanism which is a theory of planning and design for urbanism arguing that landscape, rather than architecture, is more capable of organizing the city and enhancing the urban experience. In the bottom half of this picture you can see the BATs KonstantinII customized for me so that they'd be able to connect with paeng's parks. Thanks again KonstantinII. Nothing like being by the pond on a hot summer day. Boats are free for everyone, if they are available. So far this year no flamingos have been hit or killed by a baseball, but on freak occasions it does happen. Replies: KonstantinII: Good entry my friend! How do you have the birds flying around? Thanks buddy. Those are JENX Fauna birds from SC4 Devotion Aaron Graham: Lovely pictures!!! Thanks. Schulmanator: Very cool! Some unique spots here for sure! Glad you enjoyed, thank you. Gugu3: amazing pictures! Thanks. Terring: Nice and interesting Thank you. Hazani Pratama: Very Nice! Thanks SimCoug: That is a great park - I like your mix of content. Good to see you back! Nice to be back, thanks. Been keeping track of some of your new stuff, but haven't chimed in recently. Michelot: Awesome! Yeah, thank you. 89James89: Looks really really nice, just read through the entire CJ and loved every minute of it, right from the looks at the older cities and the redesigns they went through, up to the sprawling urban metroplois that has become Ionica. Really nice work. James Glad you took the time to catch up on my CJ. My city has gone through quite an evolution and it continues. Thanks. pingpong: The waterscape is surely adorable! Glad you think so, thanks. Huston: Spectacular contrast between the urban sprawl and natural scenes! A very tranquil looking atmosphere to sum it all up Thanks. I've been building it for a long time. It has been quite tedious layering all the detain and trying to get everything right. But it is paying off. urielgarcia: Love the flamingos and the pond...the mmp add a lot to the scene. The do indeed. I'm happy I had this chance to use em. Thanks.

Welcome back to Well it has been a long time but I am finally ready to start making a return. I still have a lot of things to do before I get Ionica up an running again, but in the meantime I'll share a few new pictures from around the city and from one of the new Zones I've been working on for the past couple of months. Special thanks to KonstantinII who has been custom LOTing some BATs for me and sharing them with the rest of Simtropolis. Garden of St. Michael's church in Wang Chu Yi Remnant of Camelot in Lady of the Lake Park, Avalon. This is from my new Zone called Sarai which features a huge park in the middle of a low density residential area. Sarai Rowing Club on a lazy afternoon. Then night falls... Replies: Schulmanator: Awesome! An enjoyable tour though some well designed areas. I think a vacation there is in order this summer! Thanks. There is a place for you in Ionica anytime. Summer is especially beautiful here. ggamgus: Fantastic! Sorry about your PC being down... but this is great work, I love it. Thank you. Finally got it up an running a few months ago. Felt like it would never be fixed. KonstantinII: The whole overview is nice. Veritas is so huge I don't even have word to describe it! You provide a good living status for your people. The metropolitan area looks very realistic. Dubai is like nothing compared to this. I think the small houses in Hao Dantong somehow don't fit in with the rest of the city. You don't have to put a big university campus in a crowded city like Veritsas. I use the small buildings of hdorriker's university set. They are compact enough to blend in with the city and provide all it's education needs. Think of them as sub branches of the main university. http://community.sim...esidence-halls/ Most big cities don't have a sprawling university in the middle of the CBD. Just Saying. Thanks. I feel Veritas is kind of cluttered. I'm going to have to work on it a little. I want a big university, but you are right that it shouldn't go in Veritas. I have in mind something like Oxford/Harvard/Yale. Throw in some MIT as well. Huston: Beautiful montage of your city zones! And the photo-editing is great! You really don't make it obvious that your using the default building lots and you really seem to have talent for blending different styles as well which is just remarkable because not many people seem to do it effectively like you have! Again, amazing work. Glad you appreciate it Huston. It is all about being selective and picky. Titanicbuff: That city is HUGE But I'm not compensating for anything. RepublicMaster: I love the journey throughout all of Ionica! Your canals are one of the highlights! Keep up the great work! Thanks, I put a lot of time into those. Glad they stick out to you. dubaidude303: Totally stunning! Awesome work Thanks dude. (I always have to it that way) City Builder 9111: Wonderful to see all of it again! Long Live Ionica! Thanks for your blessing. Hazani Pratama: Great! Thanks. Terring: Fantastic work man Thank you. Harbin91: Hate to be an air traffic controller there. I imagine it could be quite a nightmare. Unless the air traffic is controlled by a super sophisticated AI, yeah - lets just say that is how it works. Forthwall: Gargantuan update, had to wait a bit, but it was worth it - 100%. Congrats on 1 year and lets hope for many more Glad you stuck with it to see it all. Yes, lets hope. Hellken: Well, what can I say? This is stunning and fantastic! Thank you very much. Thanks for stopping by.

Welcome back to Sun Bu'er This small zone is located north of Tan Chuduan, the one shown in the previous entry. As we get further from the center of the city we are starting to see lower density some residential areas which are a preview to what lies beyond the dreamy spires of Ionica. The canal in this Zone is the continuation of a series that travels across seven small Zone above Avalon and it serves no real purpose other than to allow Sims to leisurely travel from one Zone to the next. Open your window and touch the clouds. In the last entry I called these suburbs, but they are really just low density neighborhoods. These areas were designed based on principles of Ecological Urbanism which is an evolution of, and a critique of, Landscape Urbanism; a theory of planning and design for urbanism arguing that landscape, rather than architecture, is more capable of organizing the city and enhancing the urban experience. The main focus of this type of design is to adjust the relationship between the city and nature. Each modernist home has three rooms and two basement levels with an easy to use and maintain self sustaining Aquaponics system. Each home is also equipped with a small backup geothermal generators which means residents will have power in case the local power station blacks out. I wonder what the modernist home looks like from the inside... Oh wow, nice bathroom! Replies: ggamgus: That is totally awesome, dood! D: *uses rusty time travel machine to go to Ionica* WHOA!! D: Thanks ggamus. Those darn time machines and their rustiness. We'll welcome you with open arms. Schulmanator: That park is awesome! It's all good but I like the very well laid out park the best Thanks Schulmanator, I'm just having way too much fun with those paeng parks right now. dubaidude303: Wow! Really did it up this time! That suburban area looks amazing! Great work dude! Thanks dude, the 'suburban ' area is just kind of a concept, but yeah I think its working pretty well so far. Forthwall: Excellent work! Is that a loki wanted poster on that building ? Thank you. lol, it isn't a Loki poster but I can see how it looks a lot like him. It is an advertizement for Gaius Baltar's book, My Triumphs, My Mistakes, from Battlestar Galactica. RepublicMaster: Nice shots, very Vibrant Thanks RepublicMaster. Hazani Pratama: Cool City! Thank you. Fox: Ahahaha .. thanks for the response .. I love it! As for the update.. love the little residential area on the edge of the city last two pictures), very pretty and unique. But I have to admit, I'm not a fan of those town houses.. it looks very alien in the center of the city like that and they kind of look like sore thumbs poking out. I can see what you are trying to accomplish but perhaps a better idea might be to make them in to a circular formation and have the park/paths in the center of the circle. Thanks for the great feedback Fox, I see what you are saying. I think that it would look better on a bigger scale. What I did was just a small tile and that didn't give a lot of space to fully realize the concept. I'll have to do some more 'testing'. what12311: Very good work, I hope to get as good as some of the other members on here one day. Thanks, so do I. KonstantinII: Where to get those cubic buildings in the first picture? And the small low density houses in the last picture. Both of those buildings are by rp2004. stonie03: The park from the last two pictures is amazing And it's all thanks to paeng. Well, I'll take a bit for credit for a bit of imagination. spursrule14: i like the look and design of the residential area, very different and exciting :bd Thanks. I like the idea of old meets new so we'll see how that progresses. SilverCyric: Wow!! Amazing work. I especially liked the elevated road/split. The night lighting on that is superb!! Thanks for sharing with us Thanks. Yeah that elevated split road sure gets people, thanks bripizza. Thanks for stopping by.

Welcome back to In the Meanwhile While I'm currently working on a medium sized tile that seems to be taking forever to finish, I've also completed a few areas which I will share with you in the interim. Below is a neat little neighborhood that is located in Tan Chuduan, a small zone directly East of Prince Five Weapons. This neat little area was designed to give residents some breathing room in an otherwise very cramped and massive city. Each apartment has a two story single residence occupying the bottom right of the building. Above that are three apartments accessed via the glass-walled staircase. These are very highly sought after properties, but there will be more neighborhoods like this constructed in the near future to alleviate demand. Here is a quick concept of a suburban residential area I have been working on which is near the edge of the city. Replies: Altec: Merry Christmas ! =) Thanks Altec, Happy New Year. Fox: Thanks for the follow up.. glad to know that I'll be able to party with my Borg friends in Ionica somewhere still..lol Nice update, some of the effects are a little too distracting, but the feeling of christmas is definitely in your City tonight. Best wishes and merry Christmas. You're welcome. Enjoy partying it up with the collective, i doubt you'll be able to resist. Yeah, to quote George Lucas: "I may have gone too far in some places", but it was more about the atmosphere than showing off my work. ggamgus: Your entries are always above my expectations, totally amazing... Keep it up! Sweet, thanks ggamgus. Schulmanator: Ho ho ho! Looks festive! Happy New Year Schulmanator! Congrats! Hazani Pratama: Nice Effects! Thanks Hazani. Efkin: merry christmas and nice effects Thanks, Happy New Year. RepublicMaster: Very Nice update, as always Glad you enjoyed it, thanks. dubaidude303: Look's great! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Thanks dude, Happy New Year. raynev1: Looks fantastic . Great video too. Thank you Raynev, glad you enjoyed it. Happy New Year. Benedict: I like your Christmas changes to the banner. Congratulations! Ben's Top 100 2012 #6 Thanks, kind of a last minute thing. Whoa #6, amazing! Thanks for everyone's support. Welcome back to United on Christmas Get warm and close the ones you love. Santa is on his way, hope you've all had a good year. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Replies: Jacob Guajardo: Wow nice job . Thanks. ggamgus: I love that park, in the second-to-last picture. Glad you enjoyed it, pretty much gotta thank paeng for most of that. dubaidude303: Look's great man! Really like the new improvements! Thanks dude, been doing this alongside expanding my city. This has been ongoing for the past few months, really hard to rebuild parts of your city compared to making one from scratch I find. Especially if you made a lot of amateur mistakes the first time around, but on a tile this size you don't want to have to rebuild everything. Schulmanator: Awesomeness incarnate! Keeps getting better Thanks, still has a long way to go. Forthwall: Excellent work! Who is Forthwall and why is he using Mastof's avatar? Oh, hey! thanks! City Builder 9111: Magnificent!!!!!! Thank you. KonstantinII: I don't see any barsoom buildings... Sorry, didn't know that I had to put them in right away. I have a huge backlog of BATs that I'm trying to find the place for, I don't just put down the buildings I download right away. Also, there is stuff that I'm playing around with in the background that you don't see so just be patient. raynev1: Fantastic job , I must say you got me good , when I started reading this entry I didn't look at the pictures yet , and something caught my eye , the picture changed ,I thought , but was not sure . I bet it took me over half an hour to view this update , and I enjoyed every minute of it . Very , very nice entry . Keep up the great work . Thanks raynev1, I'm really glad to hear you took that amount of time with my entry and that you enjoyed it. Hazani Pratama: Very,Cooooooool City! Thanks. Fox: Love the before and after pictures, very well done, love some of the improvements. The Dubai Tower is my favourite with the added canals around it, although I hope the Borg cube was relocated and not destroyed .. lol Glad you like it Fox, thanks. Unfortunately that Borg Entertainment Cube at the heart of Avalon was destroyed, but it is a chain, there are lots more in Ionica. SimCoug:Great work with the before and after pics - those can be tricky to pull off since it usually involves some planning. Thanks SimCoug. Yeah they sure are tricky. Don't know how you do it, but I have some backups of my city at different stages, especially Avalon, so I just load up different versions of my city, take pictures of a general area, then line it up in photoshop. I should probably have put dates on the pictures because it is kind of difficult to tell what actual order is. Thanks for stopping by, see you in 2013!
