Ouisconsin County - Morgan Town: Rival to the South <DoW Update 116:03.17.15> South of Ouisconsin River, Konrad Morgan bought up a large portion of land and settled a town, Morgan Town. Morgan and his associate James Smith laid out streets. Settlers soon bought up lots. Audalaus Moorland built a textile factory and development exploded. Chester Avenue currently serves as the main road through Morgan Town. Moorland Textiles on Ash Street and Prospect Avenue. More and more houses are filling the original city grid. St. Stanislav Catholic Church. Wauwatosa Plank Road meeting up with Abeline Parkway. Morgan Town. First crossborder merging of two city tiles for Ouisconsin County. Map of Morgan Town. Some maps distributed by speculators and land sellers deny the existence of Cass Town to the north. Cass Town maps also depict the Morgan Town as a swamp unsuitable for settlement for prospective settlers. Of course, anyone with decent eyes could see signs of development of both sides of the river. Hope you enjoyed this update. You probably noticed some anachronisms like street lights and cars in driveways. I'm not an expert at this like SimCoug. I think the feeling is there for a old-time start to this city. Any tips, suggestions? Leave comments! Additionally, the great debate has started - to play SC4 or C:S!? I haven't bought C:S, yet. I barely have enough time to play SC4 as it is, and I've already put a bunch of time into this "reboot". If I do get C:S, I'll most definitely have a city journal for that game...but I think I'll still very much work on this city, too. We'll see how C:S evolves. Replies: Mymyjp: Wow...the amount of work required to create a map is amazing... Makes me appreciate the available maps out there!!! Excellent tutorial..I am ALMOST tempted...lol Yeah, but I like it, haha.- Read More

Welcome back! If you stuck around this long then congrats! This is the update where I finally get really good! Just kidding, I'm mediocre at best. I'm entirely relying on good looks and humour. Anyway, look at the industry! Trees help with pollution, right? Well I put trees in the middle of all the factories. Fire hazard? Maybe. Looks alright? Sure! Also, I'm pretty sure these doughnut trucks are going to eat the dude on the scooter. He should've gotten a motorcycle like all the cool kids. THIS MAN HAS A SANDBOX! As does his neighbour. I want to play in it. Do kids go inside the high school? Everytime I look they're always chilling outside. No one ever goes in. Ah well, at least I still get to see all the high school girls. Sorry... That'll be my only Mathew Mcconaughey reference ever. I promise. Quickly look over there! It's a new residential district! I could probably use some work at taking screenshots. I'm sure there was a better angle to take it at. Stick around and I just might learn something. And finally... Farmland! Because why not? Burning down buildings, building farms. Ahh, good times. It's just like when I used to play SC4 and shared it with all of you. Until next time! - 3

Suburbs
Welcome to my new entry! The reason I named this entry "Suburbs" is because I started this map with all the intentions of creating a medium sized suburban area next to my capital. But as you all know by experience (I think ^^). Once you start a new area and youre in the right vibe, things can end up completely different as they were supposed to be... This said I think the pictures speak for them selfs. oh, one more thing there is a slight chance you've reconize some areas in the photos from previous entry's. Thats because of what i've mentioned earlier. I got lost in the moment!! Anyway Enjoy it !! CSR It started out small but became bigger and bigger! and ofcourse there's also a lot of nature, so that the sims live healthy and in harmony with nature So as you can see city's keep growing, and before you know it your complete map is full and its time to start a new one! And with that automaticly a new entry!! See it soon... Hope you enjoyed it, feel free to comment CSR -

Hartford
Hartford Hartford is a small seaside town located 36 km north of Redfield. Though most of its neighbors are exurbs, Hartford survives mostly on its own. CJ #1 From Scratch to Pensatucky
Hello everyone and good morning for those living on the old continent! Welcome to my first CJ from Cities Skyline, named Rock Valley from... Well.. Rockefeller ^^ that's me.
Caution : I've linked the screenshot directly to my steam account, and had to enable HTML for those to work well. Please report any error or not showing pictures, thanks!
I wanted to create a town from nothing. No prebluid track or highway, just a small sandy track from the outside and here it is, Pensatucky is born. I'm going slowly, so every decision is rational and well thought. Step by step, my city growth peacefully. The second decades of the 20th century isn't finished yet but the town has nearby 2000 inhabitants! I let you discover the first pictures of this town. You could also download the savegame of this point on the link at the bottom of the page!
Enjoy, comment, and subscribe!
First sign of life in the Rock Valley back to the 19th century. The rural settlement stand between two quite strands and is nearby a pleasant lake.
As you can see, the community is small but spread all others the map. If there's on thing that my first abandonned cities teach me, it's the importance of room. If you build your town compact, arrived at a certain point, the amount of infrastructure needed make you destroy part of the city, and the result of freeway in tiny space for exemple is desastrous!
The Fox Lake is home of multiple middle classes families which enjoy the peacefull mood of the neighbohood.
In 1920, a bridge is built, and connect Pensatucky to Concord Heights and to the northern counties. Currently, the power is provided by two wind turbines, but it's not enough, and the city is planning to build a coal power plant on the hill north of Concord.
At the convergence of the stream to the Rock Valley River, a small industrial area specialized in wood has grown. A scenic path enable citizen to have a panoramic look of the river! What a pleasant place for hiking
Somewhere upstream, the city has built a dam to prevent dry period or flooding on spring, and the reservoir was transformed in a pleasant and relaxing park with some view on the city.
Back to Pensatucky, the nearby hills has been colonized by houses which residents wanted scenic view from their backyard.
In north, the Vermont Height Power Plant has been built, and now provide enough power to feed the city for a long period. Are we close to the industrial revolution?
An aeriel view of the region as it stands actually. I had to delete the field in order to upload the savegame with no dependancy.
And for the last, the actual city as it is in the savegame with names. I encourage you to use unlimited money mod because the city is now in red. The next step is the building of a railroad track to enable a better transit for goods. You can watch me streaming this cities and maybe others from steam in my profile - http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198067447346/home/Subscribe to see more screenshots!
Feel fry to like comments, share and subscribe!
You can also have a look yourself at the savegame which is downloadable at this link -> http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198067447346/home/( It's current version 1.1, others version will be upload separetely ) -

Chinatown!
North of Downtown Saturnia lies Chinatown, the quintessential of such. These are dense districts with similarities to those of... wait for it.... China! The place is dense, but one can find peace at the castle that towers over the district. Another essential of the neighborhood is the Chinatown Gate. The Zen Garden is another popular place amongst Saturnians. It is peaceful, serene, and as quiet as this place gets. At night, this is Saturnia's brightest district, emitting light visible miles beyond... - 4

C:SL Smokin Hot: Bobsville pop 10,000 cims
Bobsville:Smokin Hot Bob's dog pondered the fact of why no one listens to him, after all he is the only sane cimulated lifeform with any ounce of intelligence, but it was his lot in life after all. After sneaking into the basement he engaged the hyper time dilation device sending bob into overdrive. The mayor appreciated this as the city's budget bloomed and the towers grew... Once time returned to normal bob decided it was all too much for him and he decided to take his pesty canine for a trek to observe some of the cities new developments. The mayor had gone train crazy blowing most of the towns cash on new rail links and metro connections to augment the struggling bus networks . This had an effect of attracting a few tourists and hundreds of train spotters. Bobs dog remarked that the local high school was smoking hot, bob began talking and fantasising about the new librarian Wendy Whistlestick, whom had recently arrived to start a new life after her home was destroyed by godzilla in SC2013... Bobs dog smacked bob round the back of the head in frustration as he pointed with his paw towards the school and a flock of chirper birds fluttering around in a frenzy... #School on fire... Brave fire fighters to the rescue. Thanks for visiting Bobsville please visit again... Trainspotters please stay clear of the tracks. #Trainspotters cause heavy delays on rail network -Mayor lew1984- Read More

2015-03-11: Expansion and improvements
Like with the previous entry you can see all the below images (and more) in this imgur album: http://imgur.com/a/eZtHh So today saw a lot of expansion and improvements to the city. It grew by about 3 tiles and is now covering 8 tiles in total (not fully developed yet) The city now has an elevated highway which helped relieve the busy roads in that area of the city quite a bit. This area provides decent cover from rain. The new waterfront district features lush homes and high quality of life. City progress so far.I love the free hand road tool. It is really space inefficient but it looks soo good. Public transport sees a lot of usage here. It features about 10 buss lines and 4 metro lines, around 5.000 daily commuters in total so far. Not bad for a city of roughly 30.000 citizens I think. The city needed lots of workers, and commercial. Something I was unable to fulfill properly using only the free hand road tool and zoning, so a more grid based city popped up on the other side of the highway. Even though parts of the city is grid based it still features lots of open spaces and green areas for the citizens to come, breathe and relax for a while. This gate symbols the gateway between the new and the old city. Also it helps break the repetitive grid pattern that I had to resolve to. To commemorate the industry which made the city into what it is today the city decided to erect this monument. And this is how the industrial district has developed so far. Traffic is a mess. Even with two highway connections and a cargo train terminal, every time the traffic is somewhat under control the district expands with new and better businesses which in return drives the traffic up again. I accidentally San Francisco'ed a highway intersection Oh look, a new frontier. We are going to conquer the other side of the river. This new district is made up of several circle roads connected together with paths and parks. This is the first step across the river the city has made so far, but this area of the city will probably see heavy expansion in the future. To help reduce the commute and traffic on the roads a rail line was established. Right now it connects the new settlement across the river with the old town and the industrial area. But uhm. What's that mountain in the background? It looks kinda odd. Uh, a volcano. Hopefully dormant. And the view from up here is kinda nice. Birds eye view of the entire city as I left it before I realized it was in the middle of the night and I had to get up to work in a few hours. - 3

Staying in Dashin...
My dear friends, First, I would like to express my gratitude for all your wonderful comments to my journals...I never take anything for granted and knowing that my hard work is appreciated means a lot to me. This journal is probably one of favorite. A lot of work went into it and I do hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I am not sure when my next entry will be as I have been convinced to try out the City: Skylines game. I am not sure if I will enjoy it as much as SC4, but I won't know until I try it! In this journal, you will see my first attempt at a mosaic (be kind lol), the hotel, parking and bus station areas near the airport. Enjoy! A huge thank you for the individuals who have the amazing talent creating the wonderful tools used in my journals!!! And a very warm, heartfelt thank you to you guys! Cities: Skylines - High Density!
Things are building up so fast, it's hard to keep up! I'm at "Busy Town" now. And that gives me lots more options. One of the options it gives is tree-lined streets. No time for messing around! I'm already at "Big Town!" And it's a big upgrade as well! I have access to high density and office zoning now! "Big Town" gave me the option to buy another tile. I have access to almost this entire island now. I wasted no time putting bridges on it. I'm keeping this one a quiet little area. Let's look around now! Here's a small area on the other side of the expressway. I have access to expressway tiles with sound barriers now, so I will be putting those in eventually. I'm planning some good stuff on the other side of this river. High density buildings grew quickly. You can't just drag high density zones over the old zones. You have to erase the old zones first. This can be done by right-clicking or using the zone eraser tool. Let's have a look at street level! This line of retail commercial looks good on a tree-lined street. I now have access to subways, so I'll be putting those in eventually. I put in residential high density as well. So far, I've not been told of any traffic issues. That's good. A hospital is now available to me. As is a university. This is essential to office growth. Next, I'll be connecting these roads together! Until next time! - 6

Entry 12: Burn Everything Burnable!
Replies: AlejoEcheverry: Thanks glad you like it and glad I could help with your problem. Mmyjp: It can get pretty cold up here so be careful in that bath alright. Glad your enjoying my story telling, I'm just suprised people actually read the text walls let alone enjoy them lol Kim Sunwoo: Yup we have to get rid of it somehow and burning is always the best idea. Also glad you don't find the budget images boring. Titanicbuff: Thanks glad you don't think its rubbish. Always a plus! slickbg56: Thanks, I'm glad its looking lifelike as realism within the restraints of the game is what I'm aiming for (with a lot of tongue in cheap of course) Entry 12: Burn everything burnable! Only if it's trash of course because burning houses and such is just silly (unless your house in in the landfill in which case it'll also be incinerated for energy). Anyway as you have probably guessed we have the whole incineration electric plant thingy up and running now. Below is the continuation of the last entry which we didn't actually finish because you know, stuff. Anyway when we last left off we had just decided where to actually build the power plant thing and that was on as island in the middle of the river (for safety reasons mentioned above). Anyway, one of the problems with building something on a island is that you then need to actually get stuff to it and given that shipping all the garbage from Central Garton via water would be entirely impractical and stupid we needed a bridge. Below you'll see the proposed spots for this bridge to the island Now all of them had up and downsides (well ok one of them didn't really have any downsides and was chosen but screw it I'm going to talk about why the other two blue arrows were bad ideas). Also it might be a good time to point out that despite all our brilliant planning, somehow as the gridded topography readings show, we'd managed to completely overlook the fact that the island really isn't very flat. Anyway this issue kind of killed the bottom choice as the island was too narrow to actually receive a bridge and traverse the terrain (OOC: I may be using only Maxis stuff but I'm still going to have realistic bridges without insane slopes) which was a pity really as the mainland side was perfect. Moving up the next one was thrown out due to the fact that we'd have to bulldoze and relocate a load of people in Sharbury and given that they weren't too happy with us building the damn power plant in the first place, upsetting them even more might be a silly idea (plus it costs more to buy purchase the houses then rehouse the people). This then left the top choice as the perfect option. Not only was there room on either side but it offered the closest link to the Tipton dump where the majority of the rubbish would probably come from. Fast forward a few months and construction on the bridge has finished with minimal damage (a couple of farms were made smaller but that was it). You can also see here that the dockside where the garbage brought by water will be transferred to the dump ready to be burnt and a small ferry for links from the mainland side of the river. (OOC: Also you can see that you don't need a slope mod to get decent slopes lol). Anyway with the initial traffic thingy's laid out (network, that's the word), we got to work building the actual power plants and the dump. Fast forward a year or two and here is the, by now named Gull Island (on account of all the Seagulls that the dump has brought in. We would also like to point out that we try to make sure as few Seagulls as possible also get incinerated) complete with dump, a large incineration plant some recycling (was told it was good for the environment, got to put all those cookers back into use) and some industrial (hell the island is going to be a dump anyway may as well fill it with dirty industrial). In the above image you can also see the new power lines to power the island side of the river. This then allowed us to demolish all the state owned wind turbines and with a few tasty cash sums buy and demolish all of the private ones as well. On with the island though, as you can probably guess, it hasn't really stopped growing and with spreading population on the mainland side of the river meaning an increased workforce pool, this is currently what the island looks like. Also while were at it here's the current budget after building everything and running the dump and incineration plant. As you can see although were still making money the schools and other services may now have to wait for a while. We also had to start yelling at people to recycle as the dump was beginning to fill faster than the incinerator was burning it (OOC: Enact some ordianances). And finally, to actually finish this entry unlike the last one, lets take a look at the island and the growing mainland side of the river complete with overly long and obtrusive island labels. Right till next time where I'm sure I'll find some other things to waffle on about (text wall for the win and all that). Till then James - 12

A metropolis growing...
Hey, there. Welcome to this new entry of my city, I've made some changes these couple of days I've been playing. First of all, thanks everyone for comment on my last entry, I took in mind some of your advice, and I really appreciated it. I got a pretty shot from one of my downtown neighborhoods, it certainly seems as one in New York City. Loved It Really loved this NYBT stuff they got there. And this noisy but awesome and exclusive area, close to my Metropolitan Area Downtown. This actually seems like a London neighborhood. I also loved those matt bats. And, to finish my downtown area shots one of downtown itself at night. These are from Riverside County, actually next to Woodlands Downtown. And the Toyota Center in a normal day (that is, when no event has place in it). And some shots of the most exlusive zone. And, I have a question, do those houses surrounding my soccer stadium adds realism to the city? And the business district of Riverside, not that big as my Downtown. And a night shot and this last one of my whole Riverside County urban area And coming soon, a good entry of my second biggest city, West Woodlands... - 3

Marina Bay (part. 5)
MARINA BAY Marina Bay is a coastal district of New City, this district has been characterized by a very solid economy thanks to its tourism industry. But in this district also is a large amusement park, a giant soccer stadium, the International Airport of the Americas and the International Port of the Americas. Marina Bay is divided into several sectors. Sector 5 This sector is the most important economic wide Marina Bay, here are the newest hotels in the city, but are also built huge office towers. This area is also known as the Asian district because the vast majority of businesses established here are from this source. Residential areas present here are home to some of the wealthiest families across the city, so it is normal to see vehicles of Italian, German and English most exclusive brands. Its beaches are the most famous second city but its hotels are extremely expensive. Over before it started!
It's been almost 12 months since I wrote my second entry in this city journal. It all promised so much, everything was ticking along nicely. That is until I came across an issue that even now isn't resolved. I've just learnt to operate the game around it. The issue in the main is detailed in a thread I set up in the forum: To cut a short story even shorter, the terrain texture disappeared mid-save during a session, and once I exited to the region view, the entire city tile was gone! As you can see from the screenshot, the population from the tile is still being counted, and it's still in the region folder in My Documents, I just can't click on it! Anyway, so I just wanted to draw this journal to an unfortunate premature close. But I am working on a new journal. Coming soon: The Democratic Kingdom of Bastutoland. - 3

You Got to Love the Suburbs...
Replies for journal "My City...Your Home" Hello my dear friends and welcome!!!! A new city has been created: Falshin (in order to preserve the little bit of sanity I have left). The mayor, Frida Cakubara, is a baroness and she is a wild one. Since she doesn't like to attend the nobility court at the royal palace, she asked her cousin (the King) to give her something meaningful to do (with the passing of her husband, she needs to keep busy). He therefore gave her the responsibility to establish Falshin. And so it begins... The usual overviews...As you can see, it is truly just the beginning... Construction of some of the residential homes. Not much to see, but I thought it looked cool...lol Chapel and cemetery..question: why so many tombs for a city of less than 8k? reply: that is a good question...I will get back to you on that one... The main interchange at the entrance of the city. Not massive, but efficient!!! SUBURBS GALORE!!!!!!! Let the frenzy begin... Now, if you love fishing and canoeing, this is the place for ya!!! Celebrate good times COME ON!! Let's celebrate... Now I know, this is the regular, city stuff...but let us face it...It it so much fun to create!!!!!! LOL Hope you enjoyed my entry! A big thank you to all our creators of bats, textures, mods, etc. A very special thank you to all who continuously follow my journals and provide encouraging comments that allows me to continue this awesome hobbie!!! Urban news: A new commercial zone is planned and will be, in the future (at the end), huge skyline towers, same as the other commercial zones inside the Rimouski's downtown. Winter 01-02 will be mild, but long and snowy. March will be cold. August 01 was dry and hot. Crime news: October 23rd, 01: A robber have gunshoot the cashier to have money at the first small store at the west of the street just below the Boulevard St-Laurent (Rue Corrigan). Fitz-Ailwin: Thanks! And yeah, I guess it just turned out that way. HUDSON Hudson is probably one of the least known places in the world that could actually be referred to as somewhat known. Although it may be cute, safe, clean, and idyllic, none of said things is the reason why. but we'll get to that soon. First, let me show you a few pictures of what makes a perfect hick town. To start off, there's the main street. Like so many other main streets in the world, this main street is called Main Street. It span across a whopping 80 meters and is the home of such businesses as Ellard and sons, Auntie Mabel's bakery and Pat's Pawn Shop. Fancy, I know, but that's nothing compared to the breathtaking town hall. Three stories high! And it has a bell! Found residing on the best lot in town, right on the eastern end of Main street. Since Hudson is a shoreside town, it would be foolish not to show off the magnificent shoreline. Filled to the brim with cattails, rocks, and man-made garbage. The reason I chose a picture with the only apartment building in Hudson is this very building is where, in 2006, a security camera captured one of the most viral videos on the internet of all time. See, there's what makes Hudson kind-of-famous. If you want to see the video in question, I'd kindly advice you not to. If you want to know why, I'm not sure I'm allowed to tell you, so let's move on. This is just what it looks like. A weed farm. A small part of why Hudson is kind-of-famous. I know what you're thinking. It's not like this is the only weed farm in the world? Well, then, let me ask you this; what other up-and-running weed farms do you know about? And there you have it. It's a weed farm that everyone knows about, even the police! They don't really seem to mind, though. Police in this town would probably rather protect it then make a weed bust. Welcome to rural america. - 8
