The Meeting Place
The southernmost extent of Ecotopian influence, The Meeting Place is where the industrial Highlanders meet for trade with the burgeoning Ecotopian economy. Many Ecotopians who work in the region commute to the Highlander's factories, located up the mountain via railway. Although the cities are Ecotopian designed and constructed, a sizable portion of the population are young Highlanders looking for adventure and a chance to explore the world via Ecotopian high speed rail, which begins from the main urban centre across the channel, Centre City. (Keep in mind I'm still working on the backstory and my cities are evolving to fit. This is also my first time with a city journal. Requests, comments, and suggestions are welcome!) Keeping to the Ecotopian glass themed architecture, the new central rail station of the Centre City mimics the arched glass of the terminal station of Ecotopian high speed rail system (E-Rail). They are also connected via light rail, but are only a few minutes walk between. This is the southern terminus of the entire network, and as a result a thriving centre of business and mixed-use skyscrapers. The view from the train down from the highlands entering the city is a thrill for many a young Highlander leaving the sagebrush and drab brick cities of the open country. The Centre City has kept intact an old growth redwood forest, although sadly only a fraction of the former forest remains. From 'The Centre' it's possible to catch a water taxi to the University (free tuition) and country club, open to the public (reservations recommended). The old caldera of Mt. Erebus is a popular destination for weekend outings in the harbor and a distinct landmark for the few arriving flights that still ply the airways. The last eruption of Mt. Erebus buried a small fishing village in the 19th century. Many older buildings remain from the previous city upon which 'The Centre' grew from. During the war, the city was protected by the channel and steep cliffs, the old suspension bridge blown with an entire enemy armoured column. Along the coast to the north is a commuter town connected by rail and populated mostly by Highlanders pining for coastal living. At the end of a cul-de-sac is the local park headquarters, full of information about hunting trails and tramping along the coast. Numerous national park information kiosks dot the landscape around the cities, a convenient dropping off point for the outdoorsy citizenry. A thriving commercial avenue in Port Moresby is a major job centre for inter-region partnerships and is connected via ferry, bullet train, and commuter train. Surrounded by luxurious turquoise shoals, it's a happening beach during the week. It also has the first vertical farm in Ecotopia, still in operation, providing fresh fruits and vegetables to the local denizens. The old radio station was integral in maintaining civilization and organising reconstruction during the confusion times following the calamities of the mid-21rst century. A busy network of rail lines facilitates the transfer of industrial technologies and finished products throughout the region. Here industrial facilities manufacture the integral components of Ecotopian bullet train and Highlander diesel-hybrid locomotive technologies. Vertical farms have sprouted among the railways, sending fresh produce without delay to hungry Ecotopians and Highlanders alike. A mutual past of ecological destruction unites these two regions in tragedy. This has led to the reforestations of large areas and an agreement to maintain wildlife habitat for aquatic species, fragile coastal ecosystems, and slow growing high-country shrublands. All inhabitants are free to enjoy the wild outdoors with the privilege of hearing nothing by the winds and the waves. Flights are few and far between and all aquatic transport is powered by electric motors and backed up by sails. The Meeting Place is a unique and fast evolving group of cities, a true utopia for those lucky enough to call it home. -

Fields Community This community is located between Lakefront and Franklin Park and north of New Boston. It is a central plot of land on the regional map and for many years had no thru roads. All has changed with the Connecting Communities project. Now we have a high capacity thru multi-lane road. Here is an interesting photo I found. Cay Island. The Vegas of Metro! - 10

At a population of 74,159 Chehalis is the Largest city in Gray's Harbor County. Manufacturing, R&D, and white collar office jobs are mostly clustered around the downtown area. The city is made up of individual neighborhoods, each with it's own flavor and mix of small businesses. Downtown is home to several high-rise buildings clustered along the waterfront. While not as small and quaint as nearby Gray's Harbor, the city maintains a small town vibe with its compact, walkable downtown and mutual respect amongst all citizens. Salish Square is in the middle of downtown and attracts business people from nearby offices looking to get a breath of fresh air during their workday. Parks and community gardens providing free produce to neighborhood residents are common. Sense of community and a 'we're all in this together' attitude permeate throughout the city's neighborhoods. Westminster College(named for my alma mater) lies south of downtown and has far fewer students than Pacifica University. The school prides itself on small class sizes and it's use of a non-traditional grading system. Classes in the spring are commonly held outdoors and the college hosts a year-round farmer's market each weekend. Of the two main institutions of higher education in the county, Westminster is considered to be a 'Hippy School' where students can frequently be found wearing hemp clothing and birkenstocks. Gray's Harbor Regional Airport is served by Horizon Air (to Portland, Eugene, Vancouver, and San Francisco) and Air Canada (to Calgary). The airport bills itself as a convenient alternative to Sea-Tac airport in Seattle in an attempt to draw more passengers, but the airport has remained mostly small with most movements made by general aviation aircraft. Lying on a peninsula to the north of downtown, the Port of Chehalis is the industrial heart of the county. Goods from around the county are shipped by rail to either the Port of Chehalis or the Port of Gray's Harbor to the northeast. With the high demand for more dense housing and office space, the city and county have been considering razing the industrial zone and port to make way for new development. Debates have been plentiful between business leaders, citizens concerned about the city losing its small town vibe, and the city itself. Consensus building is an approach commonly used in the city government, neighborhood input will be taken into consideration, environmental impacts will be filed, and an election on the issue will take place. - 2

Undergrounding 880
the 880 highway runs along the eastern shore of the San Francisco Bay between San Jose and Oakland. Its route crosses the Coliseum complex, and thus the new project area. A decision was made early on that the freeway would be submerged. Taking up over 150 acres, including on and off ramps, the highway took up valuable real estate. Moreover, the highway divide the project from the local shoreline, a natural park that would only improve the desirability of the developments to come. The low-density industrial and commercial sites between the freeway and the Bay would be located within the project area. This, combine with under grounding the freeway, would allow for more parkland, environment restoration, and a more liveable environment. for the new community. Undergrounding any freeway is never an easy or cheap proposition. But because the surroundings area lacked urban density, the cost ($240 million) was manageable and easily covered by the increase in land values and grants from environmental restorations funds. The tunnel would be built directly east of the exisrting highway, allowing traffic to flow freely. Time to move that Church! And at the northern end, the off ramp that fed directly into the stadium's parking lots would be eliminated. And with that, major construction could begin! Coming up next, Transit Connections! -

The vanishing of Manshin
September 12, 2014 - Breaking news. A massive earthquake has hit the region on Manshin, making the region vanish in the ocean. (Real world: massive computer issues/reformatting was required). A loud cry was hear throughout the world, bringing chills to all those who heard it (Real world: I screamed so loud that I believe all my neighbors heard me.) Today is a day of mourning (Real world - downloading). For all of you who praised the beauty of Amshin (first city of Manshin), thank you. *sniff*. I bid you goodbye for now. Some survivors are now looking for a new region to rebuild their lives and hope to create a new Manshin (Real world: searching for maps and creating a new journal). *wave hand while walking in the sunset" Oh please......lol...even that is too much for me! lol -

Newbourne is in a bad economical state.
Newbourne is in a very bad state in terms of income and expense by month, and it is getting worse. With a population of just over 23,000, and most of them are high wealth ($$$), we decided that we needed to fund electricity, water, and education services more. Yeah, big mistake. You see, after we funded these services more, the income kept getting lower and lower than the expense, sending the city into a major recession. Currently, the population is under 22,000, with a mix of $, $$, and $$$ residents. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how we can get out of this recession? Please comment below. -

Welcome to my new CJ
Hi and welcome to Jimmy's Sandbox. Since I don't like building huge regions, and rather would work on certain cities, I figured I'd start a CJ not based around a region. Anyway, welcome back to Newport, a city of approx. 30,000. On this cloudy day of September 12, 1972, Newport's workforce is alive. Meanwhile, quietly lurking in the City Hall, Jim Rogers, Dept. of Planning head, is contemplating the destruction of the recently abandoned Pacific Bond building (the Art Deco one which takes up about a whole block), in favor of urban renewal. However the older townsfolk have a strong disapproval. Polls are open outside of the City Hall. The Downtown is large, the largest one in the entire county. The city is rapidly expanding it's tourism department, jobs are available today. -

1852 - New Ways
Every single metropolis that exists these days were born at unexplored, strategic areas. And Freemont was not different. In 1852, the first steps of this prestigious city were made. Beyond the vast forests, lied soft hills, numerous rivers and even a lake. Called Wallace Lake, was an excellent place for fishing. This is the home of Albert H. Manchester, one of the first pioneers of the region. Thanks for a simple idea from him, Freemont Bay's days of untouched nature were counted. At the lone road of the region, East Road, the first steps of a succesful public transportation company were taken. This is just the beginning... NEXT UPDATE: Learn more of the villages located in Freemont Bay. -

Historic Reed River City Winchester's downtown core is gorgeous, but there are many other different areas of the city to look at as well The riverfront also has a popular beach right near downtown in the neighborhood of Waterview, famous for its swanky condo buildings and towers and the historic Regal Theater, the only movie house in the city. Mostly high wealth residents live here with exception of Granite towers a middle class high rise. The antique Country Club district is full of incredible homes, both old and new and is famous for its brick streets. There are houses here running in the millions. High-end shopping area Industry still plays large role The more suburban Northern shores area Southern Shores area in its entirety Which would you choose, North or South? THE HISTORY OF DIMSDALE (1957 to 2014)
the town was planned and funded by millionaire mark dimsdale he started building the town on the costal shore line of simnation he was from the UK ofcourse the governament refused at first because he was not one simnation citzens so there was nothing he could do of course this was before world war 2 which he lost some of his money to fund the uk army after the world war ended he was only left with 50 thousand pounds but in exchange for the simnation's currency the simleans it means he has two million simoleans but the goverment accepted this time and simnation was in bad conditions and the economy was falling the country was going to bankrupt to the ground so the accepted and he imported materials and cement and other tools and brought workers from the UK TO start building the town and the british governament accepted because this is the town where they will establish the british embassy and have diplomatic relations and economical ties with simnation so they also agreed to help mark to fund for it's construction it began it's construction on the 7th of september in 1957 to 1962 the town established it's basics like townhall , resdiental building , and food court district, a casino , powerplant and coal powerplant and water etc it was small and it's population was 5,534 this picture was taken in on october in 1962 and on the left was the industrial area to provide the frieght for the office buildings in the town in the future in 1964 mark dimsdale died leaving everything to his son he didn't complete his father's dream unfortunatly he took most of the money invested in united kingdom stocks which lost with all of his money and left the town without step 2 of it's construction adding schools and hospitals to the town so people fleed the town because there were many sick and uneducated people and without services , after the british governament saw the town's conditions he was sent to prison for not taking care for it because it was under UK supervision so zack's nephew took the town and he did a very good job at first that the UK started helping him to complete the construction of the town he planned an extension for the town in 1967 and construction started late 1969 that's the picture when construction started late 1969 and the town's population started increasing and kept until 1978 here is the picture of the food district in 1981 it was the most fun place for 80's teens to hangout at that time and get ice cream the picture of 80's teens in the food district DISASTER after a large fire broke out in the food court district in 1986 in the town's best burger resturant killing at least 12 and injuring 17 others in the food district that was the only disaster that happened that caused investigation in the town they discovered it was a gas leak in 1987 in 1989 7th of september it was the holiday of the town's establishment and many things got renewed such as the town hall and the construction of the extension was done and as reward simnation governament built a house for the mayor (louis) his house is the the last one next with the blue roof to the fire station and population increased to 11,344 after many years in 1991 the town's started building apartment building to get more people in the town the town began changing as parks and education system attracted wealthy people to the town major changes happened as years went by but the town never forgot there mayor louis as he passed away in 1993 , his son matthew took over and he took his father footsteps to build the town he build the town's first park he named it after his father louis park it was next to the office building to give you mix of nature and the town's view in 1995 the park is next to the blue office building the town made it in sim nation's national news paper to the top 100 places to visit in 1996 matthew wanted to attract tourist but he had a problem with the mass transit system so he made and planned a bus system and made a worship house to attract tourists but what was special about that worship house that anyone could pray in weather it was muslims chrisitans or jews all of them were allowed to pray next to each other to allow them communicate with each other and push for inner peace the town's picture in june in 1999 the worship house is the white building on the right side with the glowing green dimond on the top this view of the town from the right prospective side on the 1st of january in 2000 it's population was 20,770 it became a big tourist destination and the UK give the town to be under simnation's governament rule and become one of simnation's cities after it built it's embassy in 2001... the town became richest town in the area because the land was rich in oil and coal and was planning to add a processor and tv factory soon in 2015 to become one of the top export's in sim nation the food district changed and got rebuild and became the downtown there was new galleria built there that attract tourists he also added many parks that sim nations newspaper wrote an article about it with the head line called "green town" here is the view from the downtown in 2014 and that is the history of dimsdale future plans in 1 st of september of 2014 they are going to build a stadium and going to add a streetcar system and extened some of the town and adding an airport stay tuned.... p.s this is not the dimsdale from fairly odd parents i hope you liked it -
