03 - A tour in Ostprawa
Hi all ! Today, we are going to cross the small Prawa river and explore Ostprawa, the eastern twin-city of Westprawa. Together, they form the consolidated city of Prawa, which is to be the capital of the Prawinian province. Actually, Prawa is reaching the 1.200.000 prawinians citizens are the increasing population become a growing problem for the planners of the city council. In fact, due to a very strong politic of welcoming emigrants and workers from all around the world (mainly from central Europe and northern America), infrastructures progressivelly need to be tranformed and upgraded... ...but that's another problem ! Ostprawa, like its western counterpart, is the place of several main institutions : The Neuberg Research Center, or PwNRC, is probably the most important center for treatments against cancer. Numerous scientists of the world are working there, and the Center is also a place of important scientific congresses. The Prawinian Cinema School is also a well known place for cinema lovers and future conductors and producers. Ostprawa can be a nice city to visit, as it has many touristic places, like museums, art galleries, concert halls... Soon, a new marina will be opened too, and you can be sure it will increase numbers of visitors in town ! So, you can easely book an hotel in Ostprawa and, if you can afford it, try the Borovy Hotel***. The major difference between "Ost" and Westprawa is the trade center building complex, which, to be honest, make the western city very jealous ! Finally, the city is also an urban experimentation place. As most of the city is of middle density, the prawinian planners face the problem of overpopulation and need to boost the housing capacity of the town. In this optic, 10 years ago, it was decided to create "block complexes" (nicknamed as "bK"), scattered all along the city. These complexes are groups of identical high density building, gathered on a large zone, and connected to the rest of the city by roads. Usually, planners try to add every needed structures to the complex, in order to make them almost independant of the rest of the urban tissu. That's all for the moment... See you later ! - 3

The Old City - Just a teaser
Hello everyone, This is my first City Journal, and although I've been playing Sim City for a lot, this is actually the first city where I played with mods and BATs provided by Simtropolis and Sc4Devotion. So, this is the city of Zvondon (no relation to London whatsoever, I just like naming cities after myself). It is the Capital of Zwo's United States and this pictures show the city's oldest part - the upper city. While old in its nature, many parts of it have been built and rebuilt through the centuries. Many of the old medieval buildings gave way to bigger, sturdier and more lavish buildings of the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries so this part (and the city in general) has a certain mish-mash of styles. Nevertheless, the old city spirit is very much alive in this part of the city. So let's begin... The eastern gate is the main entrance to the upper city One of the bigger squares in the upper city is dominated by these medieval army barracks (one of the earliest structures in the city), as well as the church of St. Egidium. To the south, the internal part of the southern gates can be seen. Further west, the building that served as the city's first seat of power can be seen. It is said that it was located right next to the western walls so the city rulers could remain always vigilant and be promptly alerted about incoming invaders. That is all for now, if you happen to like it, let me now and i'll continue with it and make a proper city journal (and a backstory too). P.S. The city is still developing and I'm still learning what mods there are and how to use them, so if you happen to have any suggestions or criticisms, you're more than welcome to share them. -

Dieppe in Detail
REPLIES Mymyjp - Thank you, the FAR intersections do look pretty Tonraq - Thanks, while tedious, I love what can be done with RHW slickbg56 - Thanks ================================= So as I mentioned in the comments on the last update, I discovered tree controlers and had to re-forest my city, here is a view of the water supply before and after, originally I hand plopped each tree, the new one was done with god mode tree tool much quicker and easier. BEFORE AFTER Anyway, lets dig a bit deeper into Dieppe. As I mentioned before, it's a small own in a rural setting. Just a reminder of where we are and how to get to where we're going... (Click for full sized) (Click for full size) Here you can see I-4 passing by the town, and DR-1 passing looping around to the north and east. There are 2 main routes into the city from I-4. One is the major exit directly onto mainstreet which I showed last update, the other is via DR-1 which connects with I-4 in the north, then follows the coast down before crossing the Montague River and heading south through the province. The Main street exit from DR1 is an interesting combination parclo & trumpet that I was quite happy with the result. Since we're on Main street, lets see a bit more. Here you can see some of the suburbs that have grown up around the outskirts of the down town area. In the top corner you can see part of the I-4, Main street exit. More suburbia C.R. Judd Elementary School tucked in among the middle class homes. And lets finish up with a view of some small factories that have setup shop near the city due to the low cost of labor- Read More

America City - december
Hey, guys, after almost a year I'm here again, but just to let a spoiler of my next city in Eucadia region, in december I'm going to finish it. SOON -
In Part 1, continued along I-20 per our normal plan, but we took a slight detour to go into detail about San Andreas. Now we turn our eyes to the eastern coast of our main attraction, Andremore. This picture shows Kendallport which contains the main commercial ports for the entire metropolitan area, and Krystalport, the navy port. But before we go there, let's look at the neighborhood of Juanita Heights. Juanita Heights has a very walkable waterfront which features a mall, a shopping center, and several high-end stores on the lower floors of the small office towers. In the main square is a statue of Jenova...those who know her history know her history... those who don't........... don't... Anyway, she looks toward the north which can be seen even from the small office towers in Fairfax. Inside the statue is an elevator that tourists can take to the top and peek through her eyes to see the various cityscapes of Geminia. Moving over to Kendallport, here is the cruise ship port from which some international cruise liners leave. Andremore is not a popular spot from which cruises leave because it is so far from the tropical south, but demand has been increasing for more northern cruises (and even some longer term southern cruises), so there are plans to add many more cruise ports to meet the demand. The commercial ports of Kendallport look more like those to the left of the following picture with long docks, parking garages, and freight train stations to carry goods throughout the metropolitan area. Then there is Krystalport, the Navy Port. Not much to say about this except... it's a Navy Port... and good luck getting that big a** ship outta there! Leaving the main commercial ports to cross the bay are the Sapphire Bridge for cars and the Ruby Bridge for trains. The two bridges take you over to the minor ports---Tungsten Port, Port Pacifica, and Port Atlantica. The Sapphire and Ruby bridges empty out right into Port Tungsten, which isn't really a port so much as it is a pier. It used to be a port, but it was redesigned to be more of a park for the industrial workers in the area. It's not very popular... Port Pacifica however is a very thriving area with skyrise apartments, condos, and hotels. On the north side of Port Pacific (across from the actual port) is Pacifica Mall which has high-end shopping to match its high-end clientele in the neighborhood. Even the areas surrounding the mall are loaded with high-end shopping and restaurants. Here, nestled between two fancy residences is Riverwalk Park which is at the tip of the Riverwalk itself. Small bit of Trivia... there was actually a petition going around to get the name of Riverwalk changed to Baywalk since "Riverwalk" is a minomer (... it's not on a river). Because of its historical value, the name was never changed. The Riverwalk is loaded with small stores at the foot of the high rises on the hill. Traffic trying to get to Riverwalk. Between Port Pacifica and Port Atlantica are the Oceanic Marinas which sit along the Oceanic Inlet. There is sport fishing, Yacht clubs, and plazas with plenty of shopping, activities, clubs, and restaurants. The land value of the residences within walking distance of this area is astronomical. This exit of of I-5/405 is NOT the best idea if you are trying to get to Riverwalk... just an FYI. This IS the correct exit. Honestly, if I had to pick any place to live in this city, it would be here---easy access to the Interstate, within 3 miles of downtown (straight-line distance... not driving distance), great neighborhood with great schools and healthcare, walkable---unfortunately, it's expensive as all h***. Here are the actual Port Atlantica ports. Leaving Port Atlantica to the north takes you over the Diamond Gate Bridge into Geminia via San Andreas. Some locals really dread taking the bridge because the bridge provides a spectacular distant view of the Andremore skyline which is about 2.5 miles west, so they slow down to look at it... some even take pictures. There's a healthy amount of middle-fingerage going on when crossing this bridge, practically at any time of day. You will see why in the next journal which finally shows DOWNTOWN ANDREMORE... which is really what all this fuss is about. Here is a shot with all of the ports and piers in Grid E5. And now the obligatory clean overhead shots of Grid E5.

Brooklyn
As promised, eposide 2: brooklyn! As we drive out of Manhatten from the north we arrive in Brooklyn. The main avenue of Brooklyn. The recent high rents in Manhatten has given Brooklyn a major boost. The north east of Brooklyn is know for it's tiny roads and trams. The edges of Brooklyn with the cinema. The forest area is very populair to build but the major has decided to keep this a green area. The main attraction of Brooklyn, the stadium! This area is even populair on not match days since it has free P+R. Some low developed industry area. And some better developed industry area. The agriculture area in Brooklyn is under high presure to build houses, still the major wants to keep it like this. -

International Village Parks and Resorts Continued
Thank you everyone for the kind comments and the welcome! I'm glad to see some familiar faces from years ago and some new faces! I'm not sure how consistent I'll be with my updates, but as I've some free time tonight, here's a few more updates on Chihiro's International Village Parks and Resorts. The Great Petrovar Lodges Golf and Spa Located north of the Petrovar National Convention Center and Hotels and east of the European Villages, is the Great Petrovar Lodges and Spa. Guests are immersed on the rusty majesty of the Petrovar wilderness. From nature trails, tennis courts to golf greens to the spa house, this is one the most expensive resorts in the city at $600 a night for the cheapest room rate and the most expensive stay at $3000 a night. Grand European Resort and Spa The Grand European Resort and Spa at the European Village aims to replicate the splendor and luxury of major European cities. Each room is decorated and inspired by a capital from the Parisian rooms to Venetian rooms. Located smack dab in the middle of the International Village and the Pangea Lagoon, guests can get on a boat and easily go to the Asian Village, American Village, African Village and the resorts by the convention centers. The Wedding Pavilion at the Grand European Located right across from the Grand European is the Wedding Pavilion. With a quick five minute luxury yacht ride, the pavilion is located smack dab in the center of International Village at the Pangea Lagoon. The pavilion has views of all of the four regions. Cape Augustine and Atlantis Beach Yacht Resorts Located just north of the Great Petrovar Lodge is the Cape Augustine and Atlantis Beach Yacht Resorts. Cape Augustine Resort (the gray buildings on the center bottom of the second picture) aims to replicate a quaint New England American town. Atlantis Beach Resort (top right on the second picture) brings the excitement of the Bahamas to Chihiro. In the center of both resorts is a lagoon where guests can rent out kayaks and yacht boats to explore around the resorts. The Villas at the European Village The Villas at the European Village aims to give guests a more warm and cozy feel as they are immersed in the European countryside environment. A unique recreation for guests is the winery and vineyards. The Asian Village and Resorts Last but not least in this update is the newly renovated Asian Village and Resorts. On the bottom right is the Korean Temples and the top right is the Himeji Castle replica. The top center is a Central Asia museum and is inspired by the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul. On the bottom left is the outdoor bazaar where guests can walk around and buy items from all over Central to East Asia. On the top center left, is the Yamanote Boardwalk Resort and Spa where guests will feel immersed in the center of Tokyo during their stay. On the far right along the Pangea Lagoon is the lagoon pavilion where guests can come to watch the nightly fireworks show at the lagoon. The fireworks show plays smack dab in the center of the lagoon and can be seen from all four international villages. That's it for tonight, I hope you all have a great day! Thank you for reading. Any comments, suggestions or questions are welcome! - 2

Port of Mayumba Tour
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2dCkWDcrq7s Port of Mayumba Tour Hello, hello, Welcome to Nyanga! I hope you enjoy your stay here and make sure to visit all the wonderful sites to experience what Nyanga has to offer! Today we will be looking at the old port of Mayumba. At this location the original European Settlers came and met with the tribesmen of Nyanga, and so began the arduous journey which makes what Mayumba is today. The port is a thriving hub of markets, industry and crime, so lock the car doors and put up the windows... Fruit and vegetables are being unloaded and sorted, to be ready for shipping, some of it ends up on the street markets or in local shops. Trucks also stop here for rest stops or a tire change. Some factories are located here as well, such as D'acton's chemical production facility (the factory lot in the centre) and Patriot Protective's workshop (on the left). Some of buildings here have been around since colonial times, where sugar was processed from the plantations. There are also some warehouse depots throughout the port, where storage facilities and smaller factories are located One of the busiest freight terminals is the bulk freight dock, everything from food, to chemicals and clothes is shipped out from here. The boats though are small and mostly head north to neighbouring Gabon, some go to Nigeria, Ivory Coast and Equatorial Guinea. Here are the grain processing docks. Wheat, maize and hops and brought here by truck for processing and then shipped all over the world. These mills are owned and operated by the government, but have been infamously known for the poor conditions and terrible quality housing provided for the workers. The coal docks take up the majority of large shipping traffic in Mayumba. They also take up the most space in the port, by having a massive coal storage yard. In some effort to provide housing for the workers employed at the port the government built council houses and flats. Sadly they were poorly constructed and not properly mainitained, today they are riddled with crime and are in very bad need of re-development, but many workers have no other choice and have to live here to keep their families alive. Our last visit for the day is to one of the many very busy street markets at the Portside Townships. These usually occur all through the week and many stalls and shops continue selling right through the night. You can get everything you could ever think of at these markets, much of the stuff like food and some clothes are not terribly bad quality, but stay away from any electronics or branded clothing, these are almost always fakes and a waste of money! You also have to watch you pockets, pick pocketing is a frequent occurance in any city around here. We're back at the hotel, I hope you enjoyed your day out! Thanks guys for the comments on my last post! They are much appreciated!! -

Verlinn
Welcome to my first entry! Today, I will show you the pictures of my latest city in regio Randstad, called Verlinn. This city has been inspired by the Berlin Wall after 1990, and I thought it was a nice idea trying to divide a city into two parts. There are two ways through the wall, because Simcity mechanics don't like it when not everything is interconnected. Empty Lots. Really.
Many thanks all for the comments to the last entry. Special thanks T Wrecks! Empty Lots. Really. The reason for the empty lots is the aerial bombardment during the last big war. Many houses had to be demolished after. These Lots remain unused. Its true. Flak Towers (anti aircraft) were built. Heres one. From other angles. The tower is now the Museum of Natural History. More empty lots visible here too. This space was turned into a wonderful plaza. No buildings here, either. Few buildings on this station adjacent lot. - 7

A Satellite Photo of Kennedy Island
I created this Journal and then was distracted by all the happenings in the real world. After so long... here is a screenshot of the entire region I have been working off and on with for almost a decade. I will post close-ups of the cities as I work through them. Note: This region now has over 50 million people. The original screenshot is also 19MB, so I had to resize and compress to upload it here. -

Singidunum Journal 02
After its fall to the Avars in the early 7th century, the ancient city ceases to be mentioned, and its fate on the subsequent centuries is obscure. The Slavic Beligrad, the "white city" (named for the color of the stone it was built from), had been established by the 9th century on the site of Singidunum, within the First Bulgarian Empire. It is first mentioned in a letter written on 16 April 878 by Pope John VIII to Bulgarian prince Boris I Mihail. With its new name, Beograd would eventually be restored to its earlier strategic significance. This is my version of Singidunum. -

30 - Random pictures
Thanks for the comments guys. So, 20 days without an update... And Here I am with a few pictures for you from around the region. As you can see below, I've extended it to the left, making a shoreline with a seaport. I think It's the best way for me to play the game, extending a small region a few tiles each time I finish them. (All pictures are available in full size, 1280*720) A closeup of the airport. I still need to work on the ground markings as it's really bare right now. One of the dam up the river. The lake at the top is a popular area for tourist, hikers and people in need of relaxing time in the several hot springs hotels. The lake has its own marina for the rich and the less rich. Back in the city, a Kamiyama main line local train passes a freight train near the local substation. The suburban railway line. A shrine on top of a little hill in the southern suburbs. I hope you liked this small update. - 37

A Far Milestone
(background information provided in forum post) Although there aren't many pictures of the city's beginning days, reports suggest that the city started with a few highways criss-crossing the region, as is typical of the mayor's habits. He crammed dirty industry in a corner and built out from there. Fast forward, and the region's slums gentrified into towering complexes. At some point, in lieu of subway lines to supplement the overloaded bus system and road network, he established the unprecedented elevated rail network to provide more space-saving techniques and reduce the massive congestion associated with large cities. Additionally, he built rail lines connecting to some neighboring cities and their industrial districts. At this point, the entire region has 6.5 million residents total, with most of them crammed in the city's expansive and dense suburbs. This is an overhead view of the region. The CBD is situated in the center, complete with a huge mass of skyscrapers and that massive one. To its left and right are the suburbs that supply the many office workers that commute to the CBD. They also contain huge commercial shopping complexes that are clustered in their city centers. Much of the CBD's garbage is disposed of here as well, thanks to the healthy tax revenue that the many residents provide. Farther out, massive industrial complexes that span kilometers flank the city core. Many of them are high-tech industries, although some of the older complexes are predominantly manufacturing industry. This transportation map shows the expansive highway and railway network of the city. The blue represent the elevated rail, subway, and tram systems, and the red represent the ground rail. This network is far more expansive than that of Sigmar City. An overhead view of Sigmar City CBD. This is where the city originally developed. Two major strips of offices line the riverbanks, one on each side, with miscellaneous residential restricts along the flanks. The huge residential housing on the lower side of the image was once the industrial powerhouse of the early city. At the left, the tallest building in the city, a four-kilometer giant, stands as the ultimate landmark. A close-up of one of the borders between commercial and residential neighborhoods, showcasing the architectural diversity of the city. The two prominent brown buildings are among the mayor's most favorite skyscrapers in the entire city. The mayor admires their imposing yet beautiful stature in his city's skyline. A shot of the city's original CBD before it eventually encompassed the entire area. Here we see the greatest juxtaposition of skyscraper styles. Gothic and Art Deco skyscrapers stand side by side with gleaming glass giants of captivating geometry and architectural features. Note for example, the triangular building with the iconic green diamond. It is one of the most distinguished buildings of the city. On the left side you can find skyscrapers of older architectural styles. A close-up of three buildings employing more antique architectural styles. A close-up of some more modern buildings. Note the distinctive differences in window colors, from the bright blue to the yellow-greens, to the glaring whites. A close-up of some more distinguished buildings, complete with colorful facades and authoritative auras over the illuminated streets below. Switching gears here, this seaside neighborhood also contains a variety of architectural styles. From the gleaming blue skyscraper on the left to the classical red-white condos near the bottom, this still picture contains a dynamic palette of color and creation. It also shows the mayor's fantastically crafted elevated rail system, blending seamlessly and without aesthetic disruption. The main sports complex of the city, with major and minor leagues alike flock to from outside the valley. They are conveniently situated next to the main university, whose smokestack can be seen on the bottom. The highly gentrified neighborhood that once was the center of the city's dirty industry. Instead, towering apartment blocks and office buildings occupy the space that dirty factories once did. If you look closely on the left, you can see the antiquated city jail, which, judging by the amount of development nearby, has had no considerable effect on land value. Most of the people there probably committed white collar crimes so they can't immediately hurt you. A close-up of one of the city's many elevated rail stations. One of the best investments the mayor has ever made. Two luxury condominiums side by side. It must be so amazing to see both the river and the bridge right at your window. A group of identical smaller luxury condominiums in the gentrified industrial district. Finally, a time when "Twin Peak Towers" is actually an appropriate name. Those views must be spectacular. Plus, the elevated rail is right at your doorstep. A close-up of the city's tram system. Although not as cool looking, it's been far more flexible than the elevated rail system. It isn't as widely developed, and resides mostly in the gentrified industrial district. But as the building-at-the-right's message says, the city transit authority has set its vision higher. There are plans to expand it further. Not everyone in the city lives in some fancy condo. Here's a series of housing projects, housing the lower income residents. They're mostly safe to be around and live in, even at night. MOSTLY. Can you say "cookie cutter housing" ? As talented and able as the city planners are, they're apparently too lazy to look for developers that don't believe in cookie cutter housing. Nevertheless, this is one of the city's middle class residences. Commuting out of there can be quite a hassle, even with the rail system. This shows the complexity of the transportation system in the city. It weaves (mostly) cleanly throughout the many highways and roads and buildings that would otherwise block its path. A busy railroad area of the city. Another major investment of the city was the introduction of passenger rail to subway transitioning. At last, both systems could be seamlessly connected via ways other than a straight up elevated rail to rail lot. Although, those were used later albeit with far less frequently. The rail system is one of the most used transit options both between city segments and within them. Now where does the mayor live? Despite the grandeur of the development, he still lives in a humble mansion like his other mayors in SimNation. Well.... Not exactly. The mayor's house is part of a gigantic and technologically advanced complex with a ludicrously gigantic skyscraper at its center and a multi-leveled farm. It's suspected that the mayor's real establishment is that very skyscraper, with hundreds of floors and balconies, most of which serve no obvious utility. It is so huge that ground-level stabilizers are required to keep it still, with in themselves are powered by a complex underground machinery facility. Some people suspect that they are offices for the mayor's investors. But why would a small group of investors desire a tower 4 kilometers high just for their offices? The world may never know....and the thing is, there's talk of developing a complex of these towers in the southern suburb. Equally mysterious is this industrial complex at the center of one of the riverbank sections. It looks like a communication array of incomprehensible function or purpose, although it's assumed to help the residents. Some suspect that this is a facility desired specifically for the demand of the mayor's secret investors. A gift from one of the mayor's investors, this beautiful park with a fantastically sculpted metal statue overlooks the city as some great angel guardian. At the back, a small oriental themed sanctuary caters tourists. A close-up of the statue. It has been the subject of numerous poems ranging from well-crafted stanzas to over-abstract, perplexing hipster interpretations. -------------------------- But what of the suburbs and industrial districts? What do they look like? Here is what one of them looks like. The main giants here are towering shopping malls and apartment blocks that seemingly stretch forever. Commuting here isn't fun, as thousands of cars pile on the highways and avenues. It doesn't help that the rail system is congested too. But hey, that's the consequence of holding over 2 million people. At least it hasn't driven the city to bankruptcy. The suburbs have a noticeably higher amount of high wealth residences than the CBD for obvious reasons. This complex has four 5000 person condos right near each other! (aka Ong Condos). Another line of seemingly well-developed complexes. The last residential street is full of luxury skyscrapers. Behold! The industrial sector! One among many, these monotone flats contain thousands of high tech buildings that power the city's economy. I guess you can go cookie cutter style with industry too. At least the buildings look nice. -

St. Florence County's deepest gorge...
You're looking at the Kardesheean Gorge. It's the deepest gorge in New England and has been exploited many times online. The Rayjay River runs wild beneath with its raging waters. The Kardesheean Gorge is empty and worthless, and yet millions people flock to see it's shallow existence year after year. Sure, it's nice to look at, but it lacks substance and depth. It's the Kardesheean Gorge: talentless and unworthy of notice. Kardesheean Gorge: it looks great from behind, but once you get to know it, you realize there's nothing but emptiness and it's not worth your time. -
