This building along with a few of the adjoining buildings once housed a few different food and beverage distributors in Portland, Oregon for many years. The building is now known as North Coast Seed Studios, the outside of which has looked the same for decades, probably because the majority of paint used is now on the art they create inside. I kept this one as an industrial lot since it had a great vintage industrial look to it. Also had to improvise the 'back' side of the building since Portland loves to have industrial buildings in big clusters and this one is up against another building. Thanks to @sejr99999 for testing these one out.- 3 Reviews

Wholesale Seed is a former distribution company in Portland, Oregon, located in the industrial section of the Irvington neighbourhood just off the Willamette River. It has since been rezoned as many buildings like this have been and is now an art studio. It appears it has not been re-done at all for many years, maybe even since it was first built as seen by the faded signage and very old wood siding. 1x2 C$$ wall to wall design and zero dependencies. The 'front' of the building was used as a railspur back in the day so use your imagination when placing it.- 2 Reviews

Clatsop County Heritage Museum located in the north westernmost corner of Oregon in the neat little town of Astoria. Formally just called Heritage Museum, built in 1905 it served multiple civic uses including city hall, library, police station and jail. Eventually it landed in the hands of the local historical society where it is used as a museum/historical archives. Mostly true to the original building save some small details on the columns and window frames which I just could not get to look properly in Gmax. The building also exists on an incline making it necessary for me to give it a different set of stairs without a ramp on the south side of the building (right side of the building in game). And the back of the building which isn't really visible since it now has another building almost right up against it. It costs 1/10th a normal museum operating costs, it has one dependency which everyone probably already has (BSC Mega props) for the flora and one for the sign which I made and included with the download. Thanks to @sejr99999 for testing the lot. -

This small warehouse is located in Portland, Oregon near the Slabtown district, an interesting neighborhood that seems to be a neat mix of light industrial and also high wealth residential. No idea what this building even is or any other information about it, just a neat inconspicuous little warehouse that caught my eye in street view. Only thing I can guess is from the look of it, it's an early 20th century design with some refits. Just a boring little 1x2 lot tailored for wall to wall, and also to be against a back wall as well like many industrial blocks in Portland are. I made it CS$ since whenever I try to assign a lot to be industrial it never appears naturally in game. I changed it from green to a natural brick color since the green did not mesh well with the roof textures and I wanted to give it the legacy look of the time frame which it was most likely constructed in. -

An old brick industrial building that has been converted to a public storage facility in Portland, Oregon. A medium sized building designed to be wall to wall on a corner, it's not quite on a corner but next to train tracks in actuality. Doesn't have as many jobs as most buildings of this size considering it's just a public storage facility but as such it barely consumes much power or water to balance it off. The building was originally Portland Seed Company, formed in 1892, making this the oldest and largest building I've made so far. -

Suomi Hall is the meeting place of the Finnish Brotherhood of Astoria, Oregon. Long engaged in the local fishing and canning industries, the Finnish population of Astoria is widely regarded as one of the most influential and proud nationalities in the city, at one point boasting the largest number of Finns west of the Mississippi River. The Uniontown neighborhood is historically the center of Finnish cultural life in Astoria, and where radical socialist newspapers were published in the early part of the 20th century. The hall itself was built in 1886 by the Finnish Temperance League as a social hall for Finns. In 1910, the entire building was moved to the waterfront of Uniontown, where it currently resides. In 1947, the building underwent renovations, the roof parapet being added at that time, as well as the iconic neon sign. The building has underwent a wild series of facade and structural changes, growing to over twice the size of its original footprint. What you can see from the outside is almost completely its post-1947 design, with the exception of the gabled section of the roof, dating back to its original 1886 layout! This lot is a 3x2 eyecandy landmark, and I think it fits due to its historical value, however feel free to turn this into a commercial lot if you want. DEPENDENCIES: BSC Texture Pack Cycledogg I had a lot of fun making this, so enjoy! -
Hey everyone, Its been a few years since I've had the opportunity to update my City Journal. But I'm glad to be back and publishing content again. Unfortunately, this time around, I don't have as much time as before (work, life, family... you know, stuff...)... so I won't be able to write up all the detailed "tours" that I did in the past... but I am hoping to get lots of screenshots out of the various regions that I have been working on "offline" (including the San Francisco Bay Area where we left off in 2014... as well as other North American cities, and even a few Asian and European cities as well). Anyways, here's an updated shot of Downtown Portland... grab a coffee or microbrew, stay dry and try not to look like a Californian... Hello everyone! I've lurked here a little bit, but I feel it's about time I introduced myself properly with my first Cities Skylines series. My intent is to post regular videos following the usual structure, and I'll share them here as I do, but since Simtropolis seems to be at the core of the community, I'll probably also share screenshots, behind the scenes chatter, etc here. This is Cannon Cape, a project I've been working on for a few months now. Inspired by the Oregon Coast, it will feature an extensive list of custom assets created by myself and others. I'd really appreciate any feedback you have, regarding the city or my video editing. I'm brand new to asset creation, video editing, etc, so I have a lot to learn and any tips will help a lot. Otherwise... I hope you enjoy!

Seaside and Gearhart Oregon taken from terrain party GPS map(18km, 1:1 scale). Scenic ocean side city right next to Lewis and Clark's path to the Pacific(Lewis and Clark River). Abundant in all in game resources. Ore and oil in the mountains, with fertile farmland near the river flood planes. Highway 101 and Lewis and Clark Road placed by hand based off google maps. Hand modeled beach sloped correctly(no steep cliff drops), abundant in driftwood and scenic rocks. Lewis and Clark River, Little S Fork Lewis and Clark River, and Necanicum River modeled with water props. Water props placed so that ocean currents do not flow into inland river(you can dump waste into the ocean without it coming back into the rivers). The Lewis and Clark River drains out of map(north end) and can be used for waste dumping. Negative current water props placed near the rocky, beach side mountain to pull waste currents from the beach(pulls to the southwest corner of map). IRL non-existent railroad placed from north to south end of map(follows Lewis and Clark road for northern part). Railway connections on extreme north and east end of map(accessible with 81 tiles). Highway connection on extreme east near the railways connection(accessible with 81 tiles). -

Portland, Oregon a map by: blunder ------------- Installation: This map is in .png format and requires either Terraformer or Mapper to import. 1. Navigate to your Documents/SimCity 4/Regions folder and create a new folder with your desired region name 2. Copy+paste the config.bmp file into the folder you just created. 3. Open SC4TF, open the new region, import the .png file, save and quit. 4. You must open and save each tile for it to display your terrain mod instead of the terraformer/mapper elevation color overlay. ------------- Description: Portland is the largest city in Oregon state, USA. It lies in the Pacific northwest along the willamette and columbia rivers and is surrounded by mountains and forests. This huge map stretches from West Crater in the east to Scappoose in the west, and from Lake Merwin in the north to Canby in the south. This map is 72km x 80km and made from satellite data. It is mostly terrain and scale accurate. I didn't include all of the wetland ponds or sloughs in the Columbia basin. Which turned out to be a good thing because I made an error with the watermask, and 'fixing' it led to all waterways being 4 tiles too wide. I can live with that because i don't have the several hours it would take to redo the waterlayers. Map made using satellite data, image editing software, and drunkapple's invaluable advice. (I HIGHLY recommend using Gobias' Sudden Valley terrain mod, Vancouver BC beach mod, and Inside Passage water mod, which is what i used to render this map) For questions, comments, and requests please see my Map Thread over at simpeg.com Happy Gaming! -

Canon Beach is located on the oregon coast. This map contains Seaside, Ecola state park and Tillamook Head, Canon Beach, and the shoreline down to Smuggler's Cove. This map is 8km x 30km and made from satellite data. Terrain is scale accurate. Map made using satellite data, image editing software, and drunkapple's invaluable advice. You must open and save each tile for it to display your terrain mod instead of the terraformer/mapper elevation color overlay. ------------- Description: Another map from central Oregon, the Sisters/Madras area is just north of bend and downstream on the Deschutes river. Map features the canyonlands on the deschutes near madras, the flatlands of Oregons high plains, and the crest of the cascade mountains. Volcanoes on this map are Mt. Jefferson, Mt. Washington, Three Fingered Jack, and Belknap Crater. This map is 64km x 60km and made from satellite data. Terrain is scale accurate but has been lowered to give a snowline i like and to flood the lower part of the Deschutes river. Deschutes a map by: blunder ------------- Description: Sitting atop the spine of the cascades in central oregon lies the headwaters of the Deschutes river. From its headwaters near the Three Sisters, Broken Top, and Mt. Bachelor volcanoes it runs south through alpine meadows and forrests of Ponderosa Pine. At the bottom of the map the Deschutes turns northeast and flows through Sunriver and Bend, Or. and continues northwards on its way to the Columbia. In the southeast of the map lies the Newberry shield volcano. This map is 60km x 56km (15x14=210 large tiles). It is projected from 1/3 arc DEM satellite data and is scale accurate, although I've lowered the elevation 500m so that the snow line comes out nicely with Lowkee's Terrain. It has volcanoes, small rivers, open plains, forested mountains, and countless cinder cones. Also, be sure to watch out for cougars and bear. ------------- Installation: This map is in .sc4m format and requires either Terraformer or Mapper to import. 1. Navigate to your Documents/SimCity 4/Regions folder and create a new folder with your desired region name 2. Copy+paste the config.bmp file into the folder you just created. 3. Open SC4TF, open the new region, import the .sc4m file, save and quit. 4. You must open and save each tile for it to display your terrain mod instead of the terraformer/mapper elevation color overlay. I HIGHLY recommend using Lowkee's most excellent terrain mod of ridiculous awesomeness over at SC4D to play on. Please see map thread at simpeg if you have a request (and be sure to check the request guidelines at the top please). Note that if you want a smaller map of just the city of Bend, OR, blade2k5 has already made a map for that, just search the STEX. Thanks for looking and enjoy. -
