  1. Greetings, everyone. I'm having a problem trying to make a diagonal GLR line cross a diagonal road (in SimCity4 Deluxe Addition + NAM35). I can't seem to find an appropriate puzzle piece. Is there a way to do this, or is it impossible? (For reference, see attached image. Note the gap where the GLR is supposed to go over the road.)
  2. My tram cars have disappeared on only one of my tram loops. They were there for several days, but they vanished yesterday and have not come back. The query tool shows them as operational with the same amount of traffic as before. I have not added or subtracted any mods or content. Obviously, I have the NAM installed and I am using the TTC_Tram mod and the European Bus and Tram Stops mod. As I said, it is only affecting one of two tram loops. The picture below shows the affected area.
  3. Trying to query my census repository and I keep hitting a nearby GLR->Subway transition piece, which would be fine if I wasn't so far zoomed out (which I suspect is the issue). I hear the subway sound and then I get a gnarly CTD like hovering a puzzle piece over a TE lot. Running with NAM 35 on a fully patched exe. (I'm really tired of losing my work - as this has happened 2 times now I've found myself doing things three times over..... >:-| ) Edit/update: It appears it is happening now any time I query the transition piece - though I swear I've queried them before without issue.....
  4. Hi everyone. I have started to play with the ground light rail and before i go crazy building something i end up having to abandon, i have noticed some things in my random attempts and want to clarify what is possible or required, starting from the most important and in descending order of importance. 1) i have mainly focussed on the 'draggable' version using the elevated rail override. I have the latest NAM (35) but noticed this: Is this still needed or one of those things that has been integrated in a more recent NAM update? 2) At some stage i want to have a section of 'tram in avenue' or 'tram in road'. These are puzzle pieces, i have played around a little with them but am i missing the menu location for some kinda connection piece to hook it up with the 'draggable' part, or is such connecting not possible? (I.e. i would have to use the GLR puzzle pieces everywhere instead of the draggable version if i want to have the tramway enter a road or avenue) 3) i have seen (i'm sure) a GLR in road bridge. I think i may have even downloaded such a thing, but how to place it / where on earth does it live? It doesnt appear in my road bridge menu when dragging road. Sure this must be either obvious or impossible, but either way it's beaten me for the moment. - I know how to drag the glr bridge when it is not in road but my sims would really prefer not to have a second river crossing if at all possible! 4) This one is more of an idle wondering than directly required but i have downloaded a few stations, does anyone know of any that are a bit less 'postmodern shiny glass'? I have a couple of older looking ones too but they are quite pretty and somewhat grand. I'm after something a little grittier, for a blue collar quarter so any ideas would be highly appreciated. Thank you for reading
  5. GLR/Subway Transit Hub

    Version 1

GLR/Subway Transit Hub LOTting by Nilo7 MODding by B22rian Size: 328 KBs Overview: This is my second Lot. It is a similar style to my GLR to Subway Transfer Station, obviously the only difference is the second GLR track in the front. I'd like to thank Cogeo, McDrye, and the RTMT Team for creating the props that I used as dependencies in this Lot. Functionality: This is hub, so that is how it functions in SC4. Commuters can transfer between any one of the lines. Stats: Size: 3x3 tiles Plop cost: 200 Power: 0 Water: 0 Monthly Cost: 90 Pollution: 4 over 6 tiles Capacity: 50,000 -You can find this hub under the rapid transit tab under Transportation, along with the other subway/el rail/GLR stations. Dependencies: Sorry, there are 4 dependencies, they're all small though. London Underground Station Resized by McDrye Semi-Transparent Train Station Models by Cogeo Roadtop Mass Transit V3 Installers by the RTMT Team JRJ Pedestrian Overpasses 1 by Jeronij http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1031 Note: I have included a DAT file labeled "RTMTV3_PropF_Subway_McDrye_Black". It is created by Cogeo, not me. You will need this DAT file for the two black subway entranace props behind the real subway entrance. This is an optional detail, you can keep it or remove it. Note: For the last dependency, you will need to have an account at the BSC Lex to have access to download it. Once you are signed in, you should see a download link. The BSC LEX homepage is here: http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/Default.htm If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. Hope you enjoy! Thanks, Nilo7
  6. The M

The Metro, or M, is Alexandria's subway system. With 4 lines and 30 stations, and a light rail line with 23 stations, it's unusually comprehensive for such a small city, particularly in the United States. Today it serves more than 150,000 riders each day. Each line is named after the color as it appears on the map, except for the Brookline Shuttle, which is orange, and the Capital Connect, which is lavender. Every line is subway and elevated rail, apart from the Black Line, which is light rail. Black Line stops are marked with dashes, but stop at the regular stations as well. Sanders used to be called Pullman Street, State House used to be called Central Station, and Capitol Commons used to be called State House (I know, it's confusing). The Madison Black Line Stop is actually nearly directly in front of Sanders Station, but for realism purposes and aesthetic reasons it made more sense for the Blue Line to continue straight west. History of the M Starting in the late 19th century, Alexandria had a network of rail lines running across town. From the west, lines ran from southern Yorktown and the Industrial District, in what is now Kensington. These converged roughly where Sanders Station is today and rose up onto a viaduct. This continued east, stopping at a Chapman Avenue station, and crossed the Seneca River. The Yorktown line then headed northeast before curving east to College Park, while the Industrial District line turned south, descending to ground level. It had two branches: one to Industrial Park, where Acton Park is now, and one to Brownsville, via Hartford and Burlington. The tracks were extended beyond College Park on the first line to Brownsville in 1908, closely following the present alignment of the Blue and Purple Lines. The Halifax line, some of which is still in operation, ran from Halifax to Central Station, near the State House. It passed under Chapman Avenue and ran along the same route as the Capital Connect does today. This line is still in operation. Additionally, two streetcars ran through Alexandria: the downtown Chapman Streetcar, opened in 1908, and the East Side's Brown Streetcar, opened in 1912. All of these were privately owned and operated. By the late 1940s, ridership on the train lines was declining, in part due to the rise of the automobile as the dominant form of transportation. When I-85 was completed in 1956, the lines' fate was effectively sealed, and they closed in 1959. However, with Alexandria growing and congestion increasing, it became clear that Alexandrians needed another way to get around. Studies commenced in 1963, and in 1964 recommended the construction of a rapid transit system. The plan was finalized in 1966, calling for purchasing the old rail right of way and rebuilding viaducts on the East Side with a tunnel under I-85 as well as elevated rail in Seneca and subways downtown. The Blue and Purple Lines would take the same route and stations as the old rail lines on the East Side, but would dive underground to cross the Seneca River. They would stop at Mattapan Square, then diverge. The Purple Line would stop at Camsden Square, the State House, and Central Station. The Blue Line would stop at the planned Robert B. Reich Convention Center, Pullman Street, Ellis Street, and Wellesley Hill. The Red Line, starting at the State House, would head north, stopping at the Convention Center station, continuing north into Seneca with an eastward curve through Kensington. The Chapman and Brown Streetcars would be converted into modern light rail, with their own rights of way and a tube under the Seneca River connecting the two. Construction began on January 25, 1967. Halifax wanted its own line, and the Green Line was added to the plan in 1968. The lines opened in phases, with the Blue Line from Brownsville to College Hill first, then the Red Line from Fisher Street to Kensington, then the Green Line from West Halifax to Yorktown, and then the Purple Line from Burlington to MacArthur. The Black Line opened next, followed by the underground section from Brownsville to Burlington, and finally the downtown subway. The system opened with the full Green Line, the Purple Line from Brownsville to Central Station (which has since been renamed State House), the Blue Line from Brownsville to Wellesley Hill, the Red Line from Fisher Street to State House (which has since been renamed Capitol Commons), and the Black Line from Hartford to Madison. The system has expanded several times since then. The Red Line was extended from Capitol Commons to Hartford as part of the Acton Park redevelopment in 1992; The Black Line was extended to Warren Street in 1998; the Purple Line between State House and Sanders and the Brookline Shuttle was built as part of the Capital Connect in 2015; and the Black Line branch to Newton was built in 2016. Today, 157,000 riders take the M each day, or 38% of all trips made within the city. Alexandria has the fourth-highest transit ridership of any U.S. city. However, problems still remain: the system's proved too popular and the network is over capacity, particularly on the Red Line. The Alexandria Transit Authority is considering options to address this, but no plans have gained traction. A Blue Line train leaving College Hill. The original brown-brick viaducts were restored in 1968. A Black Line train on Brown Street. A Green Line train. Yorktown residents refused a concrete viaduct, so the tracks were placed on an embankment.

  8. SM2 Gogar Tram Depot

    Version 1.0.0

We have a Freight Yard, a Hump Yard, an Intermodal Terminal and a Train Yard. Time to give our city trams a place to rest too no? Therefore I present you with a modestly made tram depot called...SM2 Gogar Tram Depot! It is a close replica of the Edinburgh Gogar Tram Depot thus the LHD design. I hope there is someone here that has seen it in real life and can attest to its likeness. What looks like "pink" gravel, used as the base, is actually crushed salmon colored bricks made from recycled construction material. I made many of the props you see in these pics and gave them all the necessary angles in order to mimic the real ones including an entire set of GLR catenaries with a total of 13 different angles. You will also find many other props in the pack that reflect the same angles. Off course the base texture is totally custom made as well for the best possible effect. I made the lot with TE in mind therefore you will see your tram automata run across the lot. Connect it to your GLR network and watch the trams run East/west and vice versa. There is also 2 entry/exits for visual road connections and one more GLR entry/exit that will also connect visually. You will find it in the Miscellaneous network tab. $196 $$104 and $$$13 jobs are provided for any sims that wants to get off their lazy pixel bums and finally get to work. Its an electricity hog therefore you will need at least 650Mwh to keep the lights on and 500 units of water per month to wash all those tram windows..... It will cost ya... 35,000 clams to plop it. 850 bananas per month for the lease. And 1,500 silver pieces to bulldoze it. Also, at 30x14 tiles it will need a sizeable chunk of real estate therefore plan ahead Big thanks to mgb204 for making those wonderful depot buildings. (Robin I will exploit those depots till the end of time, lol). Have fun and show it off on your next CJ. 9. Public Transport in Allster - part 1

Hi everyone Today I haven't much to say or rather write Allster is almost 1 mln citizens city so you could imagine how big it is. Traveling over city by only your legs will be difficult, so there is many public transport networks around the city of Allster and whole metropolitan area. Today i wanna show you one of the network which is a tram. The tram lines start operates as a single line in 1946, after a Second World War. From 1946 for today tram lines are still operated by the same company TRAM Allster. Today tram network have 6 lines which connecting the major districts of the city and is still developing. Below you can see a tram network map and some pictures from the tram stops Oh I almost forgot - tram stops names are only in Polish because some of them cannot be translated but instructions and communicates are in both languages So enjoy and don't forget to buy a ticket Thanks for visiting!
  10. MGB - RDP Starter Lots

    Version 1.0.0

This download contains five starter lots which can be used with my Rail Depot Pack (RDP). Two small 8x3 (GLR/Rail) and 3 large (GLR/Rail/HSR) lots are included. All lots are Network-Enabled for the correct transit types. Large lots also include a road connection for access to the lot. All lots require Electricity, Water and Road Access, plus provide a small number of jobs. For full details of Lot Properties, see the included readme file. Find them towards the end of your Misc. Transit menu. These depot lots utilise the features in RDP as follows: Automata Props - These lots will show your installed automata upon them. Timing is used to change the trains throughout the day. Compatible with all RDP texture options. Select your style during install of RDP. Additionally there are three styles of lots, allowing support for the following Catenary options: Plundere's Catenaries - Requires additional dependency Plundere's Catenary Essentials Rivit's Reskin of the above - Requires RUM for RRW German-style Catenaries - Additionally Requires SFBT Lichtsignale & Oberleitungen Props. Note: Only the large lots are supported for this style. No Catenaries It is possible to mix and match between these options, but you can only use one of each lot. Dependencies (Required for all Lots) MGB Rail Depot Pack (RDP) BSC BAT Props - T1 Vol2 BSCMegaProps JES Vol01 BSCMegaProps JES Vol03 Network Addon Mod SHK Parking Pack HSR Lot Only: HSR Stations Essentials Don't forget to install any of the optional catenary options you need (above). Limitations of linked-Automata props By utilising the resources inside my RDP dependency, these lots are able to show the installed automata upon them. Whatever automata you are using will appear, but in some cases they may not appear to fit together properly. There is simply too much variation out there to support every possible setup. In an attempt to make them as compatible as possible, I've based them off the fantastic automata made by Vester. This is because it offers such a wide variety of trains that I can verify will look as intended when used with these lots. The following automata packs have been tested to work with these lots: GLR/El Trains: VDK GLR Train Mods Vol 3 VDK GLR Train Mods Vol 4 Passenger Trains: VDK Japanese Train Mods Vol 05 VDK Train Mods Vol 06, Super Express Trains VDK Trains Mods, Volume 08 HSR/Monorail Trains: VDK Train Mods Vol 7 - HSR Of course, the option exists to simply move the props as required using the Lot Editor, where results with other automata are not ideal. You are also totally free to modify these lots and release them. They have been lotted/modded to provide great functionality whilst keeping dependencies small. I'm sure some out there can create much better looking lots than I, but all the difficult modding is done for you this way.
  11. Riverside Parkway

From the album NAM Showcase - Monthly Challenge #5

The arterial roadway stretches through 3 cities. The image highlights the Verport portion of Riverside Parkway containing a LRT (24 Verport-Parkside Line) right-of-way at the middle of the roadway.
  12. Hello Mayors, Happy Halloween wishes to all of you. 1) OK are their some good tram mods? I need to have good looking tram models. 2) The texture of the tram-line and its sideways... Can they changed from the default whitish, creamish color? Thank you
  13. I am sure this is a really simple job if I can find the right piece of track but I'm drawing total blank. I want to connect my road tramline to an avenue tramline I'm about to build and I just cannot find the connecting piece. Please help me. I've been at it for 45 minutes and its driving me mad.
  14. Suburban Luas GLR Station

    Version 1

Guess who's back modelling Irish buildings? I'm very proud to present to all of you the first Luas GLR station for Simtropolis which was based on Milltown Luas stop on the Green Line. Luas stations are very simple and contain a variety of objects for easy embarking and disembarking, perfect for suburban GLR stops for SimCity 4 to feed into your elevated rail or subway network for the inner-city. I plan on modelling more Dublin and Cork buildings throughout the year, excuse my lack of uploads; I've been busy with my engineering degree Dependencies: None! Note that there's a custom icon instead of the usual grey background, it's the Luas logo in the Miscellaneous section Up next? Pearse Station, Stephen's Green Shopping Centre, or more Luas stops (Harcourt/Ranelagh/Charlemount). Comment below with your preference! ~ Ed ~
  15. Problem with FLUPs.

I have European texture installed in NAM, so why is here american lines when I make underground GLR? Or I'm doing it wrong? Here is little image, if you don't know what I mean.

  18. MGB Rural GLR Mod

    Version v1.10

*** v1.10 Update now available *** Contents This package contains texture overrides which will modify your Rural GLR Network. Two versions are included for LHD or RHD users, road textures are the Euro Versions only currently. Load Order To ensure these files load after the NAM, please ensure you copy the folder in the zip file into your My Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins directory without renaming it. Then remove either the LHD or RHD file keeping only the one that matches your setup. Dependencies NONE Notes: Due to the generic nature of this mod, all road/rail crossings have no sidewalks and appear transparent, this is intentional. If you are still stuck or have any comments, feel free to comment in my shack on Simtropolis or visit me at my regular hangout on Simpeg. For users of either Paeng's Sandstone or Super Light Asphalt, you can use the version included in my Sandstone Euro NAM or Super Light Asphalt Add-Ons mods respectively, as these include the correct sidewalks at crossings.
  19. Version v1.20

Contents This package contains texture overrides which will add Moonlight's Super Light Asphalt sidewalks to Tram in Street and a Rural GLR set compatible with Magneto's Super Light Asphalt Mod. This mod is designed to be used as an AddOn for Magneto's Super Light Asphalt Mod: Although you can use this mod as a stand-alone mod also if you prefer. The included textures are all Euro versions, both LHD/RHD options can be selected from. Load Order To ensure these files load after the NAM, please ensure you copy the dat files in the zip file into the same folder as Magneto's Super Light Asphalt Mod. For stand alone users, please check the readme for further instructions. Also note it will need to load after any mod that changes the textures of Tram in Streets. Choose only the LHD or RHD file where both exist, and again refer to the readme for more specific instructions. Dependencies NONE Notes: Just a quick thank you to Magneto for his work on bringing the Super Light Asphalt mod to so much of the NAM. If you are still stuck or have any comments, feel free to comment in my shack on Simtropolis here:
  20. Hello, I tend to build cities that have GLR systems that serve a section of the city as well as elevated rail/subways that serve the whole city. I was wondering if there is a way to separate the types of trains used on GLR and subways/elevated rail. For the GLR, I want some sort of modern streetcar or tram. For the el. rail/subway, I want to use a heavy rail type train such as those used in the NYC subway. My question is basically about the possibility of having two distinct trains, one for GLR and one for subways/el. rail. Thanks
  21. Version 2.0

Original file had problems with no trams appearing at all and sims were using bus instead GLR. joshua43214 made another version but it was not working at all, cars would not cross even with one way road trick. This version is all fixed bus stop is removed and sims use GLR now. Note: You need the original Shmails files - Shmails GLR Avenue just replace the lot file with this one. Also you must demolish the older GLR Shmails stations in your city and re-plop the new station to work, and remember to drag one way roads for both directions up and down inside station's boundaries only.
  22. I was using the SFBT tram mod and using a reskinned tram. Both would show up on the tracks at the same time. The reskinned tram has much smaller cars so they flow along the track. The SFBT one is a single car and looks fine in the stairs, but bounces and looks janky going through turns. Is it possible to reskin the SFBT tram to be smaller cars or use 2 trams at once? Im just trying to add a little variety to my tram lines. Is there a replace and addition tram option like there is for heavy rail?
  23. So, i am playing my copy of SimCity for years, always preserving plugins, when I moved the game to another computer. Somewhere on that way i have lost my tram/GLR textures and i have the ugly one, Maxis default for elevated train. Can u tell me how can i return to the nice texture and where can I find it? Thanks guys!
  24. HELP! so many buses.

I know there is a mod available, I just can't find it. I have GLR running in my city as the main and only mass transit system, but with each stop also being a bus stop, my avenues are often filled with buses and not Trams. can someone tell me where I can download the mod to eliminate some of these buses.
  25. Super Light Asphalt Mod

    Version 0.9.9

The Super Light Asphalt Mod is a retexture mod designed to extend the effect of Moonlinght's Super Light Asphalt Sidewalk Mod to NAM components. It will change the default sidewalk concrete texture and replace it with an asphalt texture (a must-have for asian CJs!) Installation Detailed information in the readme file. Dependencies -Moonlinght's Super Light Asphalt Mod (optional, strongly recommended) -Moonlinght's NAM roundabout fix or equivalent (optional, recommended) -NAM 31 or higher (strongly recommended) Supported features -Elevated rail over road & avenue -Flups -GLR -NWM -Overpasses -Tram in Avenue -Tram in Road -Tram in Road textures variations -Tuleps -NAM stations & transitions -RTMT stations -Turbo roundabouts -Draggable overpasses Unsupported features -Extended draggable GLR -Rural GLR -RHW -Tram on Street -US T-RAM variant -Street & Road roundabouts UPDATE (03/2013) Added draggable elevated networks (to be found in the update folder). UPDATE 0.9.9 (12/2013) Turbo Roundabouts & ELR Over Avenue textures have been added for NAM32 compatibility, as well as other minor fixes and additions. The update is exclusively aimed at the sandstone version; development for the concrete version is discontinued. Still, the Turbo Roundabout & the flup rail plugins can be used by both versions of the mod without any visual disruption. UPDATE 0.909 (08/2013) Another variant is available! All GLR textures, including Tram-In-Avenue & Tram-In-Road medians have been redesigned with sandstone background. To use these, install the z_Super Light Asphalt Mod (sandstone) following instructions in the readme. You don't need the older version (concrete) to make the new one (sandstone) work. In case you use the sandstone variant, please note that the mod will not change the median textures of BATs, such as Tram & Tram-In-Avenue transitions. Credits -to Moonlinght, for the sidewalk mod -to Mandelsoft, Ganaram D. & Memo for their technical assistance -to all developers, for providing the tools -to every member of the NAM team, past or present, for their contribution to the NAM -special thanks to the modding community for all the hard work that keeps the game alive and make it unique.
