Bergen Fish Market & Tourist Information Center, by Mattb325. ----------------------------------------------------------- While the combination of a fish market and tourist information center might seem a little peculiar, it is indeed, a real thing. Inspired by the Bergen Fish market, this building acts as a reward. Almost shaped like a wedge of sushi, it is clad in dark timber that is punctuated by brightly colored fins that light up at night. I have this building an overhanging prop: when placed, the cantilevered section can overhang the water, piers, seawalls/marinas, roads, streets, etc, for a more dramatic effect. This building is offered as a non-conditional reward that has a somewhat similar base function to the farmer's market (but is altered substantially). It provides 31 very desirable civic jobs, boosts commercial and residential demand and lifts caps for R$ and R$$ residents so is a great option to help when residential demand drops. This building is: * Offered as a reward without needing to meet pre-existing conditions. * Located in the REWARD Menu * Can be placed more than once in a city. * It DOES NOT over-write any ingame or custom rewards. --------------------------------------- STATS: Lot size : 4x2 Plop Cost: $4,500 Monthly Cost: $20 Budget Item: Government Buildings Occupant Groups: Reward, Park, Health Other Jobs: Jobs$: 20, Jobs$$: 10, Jobs$$$: 1. CAP Busting: R$: 20,000, R$$: 140,000 Landmark Effect: +50 over 22 tiles Park Effect: +75 over 27 tiles Pollution: Air 1 over 2 tiles, Water 1 over 3 tiles, Garbage 9 over 0 tiles Power consumed: 3 MwH Water consumed: 3 Gallons/Month Bulldoze Cost: $400 --------------------------------------- NOTE ABOUT DARK NITE vs MAXIS NITE: The main dependency pack for all of these Civic Bats are split into two dependency files; one is for dark nite users (and other night-time darkening mods, such as Gizmos or Mashty's night-mod) and one for the standard Maxis nite. You must select and install only one file - depending on which night version you use. If you are unsure whether you have a night-darkening mod installed, then choose the Maxis night version. If you use the dark nite version, you will need a dark nite mod. (http://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/23089-simfox-day-and-nite-modd/) --------------------------------------- DEPENDENCIES: There are no dependencies required --------------------------------------- To install, simply unzip the contents of this file into your plugins folder.- 1 Comment

Offshore Pontoon, by Mattb325. --------------------------------------- Made as a request for a fellow SC4 player, this offshore pontoon is used for boats to moor in open water. Typically used by tourist boats, offshore pontoons can also be used to moor much larger craft. The design is loosely based on the pontoons that surround the Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor. This 3x2 water lot is found in the water transit menu. In order to light up at night, there is a small power output of 1kwh per month, but otherwise the lot produces no garbage/water, etc. The lot has a completely transparent base texture and the model has custom LODs to enable you to MMP under the pontoon (as I have done in the screenshots) Boats sold separately. --------------------------------------- NOTE ABOUT DARK NITE vs MAXIS NITE: This download contains TWO model files; one for dark nite users (and other night-time darkening mods, such as Gizmos night-mod) and one for the standard Maxis nite. If you are unsure whether you have a night-darkening mod installed, then choose the Maxis night version. If you use the dark nite version, you will need a dark nite mod. (http://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/23089-simfox-day-and-nite-modd/) --------------------------------------- DEPENDENCIES: There are no dependencies required for this lot. --------------------------------------- To install, simply unzip the contents of this file into your plugins folder. -
High Wealth Tourists using cars their own cars.
Tayyab posted a topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
I don't know people are still playing SimCity 2013 or not, but this is the only game I still play from time to time. Coming to the point, In my city, High Wealth Tourists (in purple color) are coming from Ferry Terminals and Airship Hanger which is normal but they're going out of the city through cars, I've Maglev Stations all over in my city and Double-Decker Bus Terminal with Bus Stops. I've placed Ferry Terminals, Airship Hanger, Commercial Buildings, Landmarks, and Casinos all of them close to each other, Medium and High Wealth tourists are commuting between them on their feet but ONLY High Wealth Tourists are using cars to go out of the city and this thing is creating all kind of problems in my city from Police to Fire Fighting to Omega Deliveries to Student Enrolling, I don't know from where they're getting cars and why they're not using the same medium they're coming into the city, you can see the attached screenshot, there's congestion only at the incoming lanes with High Wealth Tourists. Any Suggestion?- 1 Reply

Hi there, I'm having a problem getting hotels to spawn; I'm building a gambling/culture city that is going pretty well, at the moment the city have 5 casinos (1 luxury hotel full with $$$ gambling addons, 2 sleek and 2 cheap with full $ and $$ gambling addons), all the 3 possible landmarks (Edificio Copan, Empire State Building and Sydney Opera House) and the Pro Stadium; the city have all forms of public transportation except streetcars (3 ferry and boat terminal, one train station and 1 municipal airport with 4 passengers addons and 4 runways); the city have a draw of 65k/85k with more then 1k tourist/h and it's going decently (1kk$/day profit) but I'd like to get some hotels. The problem is that no matter what I do they somehow refuse to spawn; I tried running the Sydney and Pro Stadium events everyday for quite some time, bulldozing some medium density commercial from all wealth class every day and the city is not at the beginning of year 6 but not a single hotel spawned; I could plop them with the plop mod but before doing that I'd like to get some hotels to spawn naturally. Is there anything that prevent hotels from spawning while playing offline? Am I doing something wrong or am I being just incredibly unlucky? Thanks in advance for helping, Paraffine

1st Place entry from Tourist Attractions (S3-04-W) Weekly 72 Rep 27 Bonus Points 56 TOTAL Points Challenge Results Data | Leaderboard Rankings [Larger Resolution] 4.2 MB Far from any major cities and only connected by an average-speed country road are several old-style villages tucked between the mountains with stunning views of the ocean. Many of these towns changed over time as tourism grew, which led to the construction of hi-rise resort hotels and a subsequent influx of beach-goers and yachtsmen. This particular town is one of the smaller ones and lacks any marine facilities, but many people will sail over here due to be able to take in the grandeur of the towering rock face that surrounds the town on three sides. This causes the town to have longer than average "nights." Today we are catching the town in the later part of the morning, and the pitch-black shadow caused by the eastern rock face has almost receded. The two resort hotels in this town are seasonal, and tourist season has just begun. The beach is not particularly full and the hotels are just getting started up for this year's tourists, which explains their empty parking lots. The fancier hotel to the east has already sent the first two of its white and yellow shuttle buses to the city to pick up customers from the airport - a 40 mile drive. One of them can be seen heading west on the country road. The larger hotel on the west end of town already has its first group of patrons - a large group of foreign tourists filling two chartered buses. The crowd currently gathered on the beach is watching a mid-sized cruise liner slowly make its way through the water. The ship is based in the city 40 miles away and so it's a frequent sight in many of the coastal towns in the area. Another sight to behold is the multi-million dollar yacht that has also entered the scene from the west. It would also appear that there are some people on jet skis racing each other. The beach generally gets 3-4 times as full when tourist season is in full-swing. Lastly, the bleak building at the base of the mountains is a corporate office where bigwigs meet to discuss future plans for the city's dominant oil company. A small group of black cars can be seen making their way up the hill to the site. All cars and other vehicles are static models Photoshopped in. Photoshop was used extensively for this image.© 2016 MushyMushy

2nd Place entry from Tourist Attractions (S3-04-W) Weekly 43 Rep 16 Bonus Points 42 TOTAL Points Challenge Results Data | Leaderboard Rankings [Larger Resolution] 1.2 MB Located on the island of Cephalonia in the Ionian Sea, few beaches across the globe can compare to Greece's breathtaking Myrtos Beach. Due to it's remote and rugged location, the beach is completely inaccessible by foot - the only way to reach it is to traverse your way down a series of steep hairpin curves. Once you make it there however, you'll be rewarded greatly with pristine, warm Mediterranean waters, perfectly soft white sand, and of course, incredible views. There's plenty to do as well - surfboarding, windsailing, boating, or you can just soak up the sun if you wish - why don't you come visit today?© 2016 korver

"El heróico e impoluto alcázar de la muy noble ciudad de Aurora" (Or "The Aurora Alcázar" for short) is a former fortress/palace built in the sixteenth century by Simspanish conquerors on the city of Aurora, it's located at the top of a gentle hill on a site once occupied by a Simztec shrine. Today the building functions as the Regional History Museum, indeed the three surrounding gardens lay bare a testimony of the passage of time. The east garden shows what's left of the Simztec shrine, it's remains unearthed in 1925; the north garden, unchanged since 1867 was designed following Simeuropean (?) style, popular on the simmerican (this is getting a bit silly ) continent at the time; lastly, the west garden features a meteorological observatory built in 1906. The Alcázar is part of a major urban park and it's one of the most visited tourist attractions in the city of Aurora. Phew! built it from scratch, took me over a week to make it look decent and there's still room for improvement, but anyway, I hope you enjoy this image and it's brief history!. -

Welcome to the central area of Highline, this area has many visitors to this area either to catch a game at Highline stadium or to just relax around the harbour or the park area near the stadium. Most of the visitors to this fine area either coming in with a cruse ship straight into the harbour or via the extensive tram system throughout the area. -

Introduction: Tourist in Jakarta uses this bus for city sightseeing Double Decker Bus as Tourist Bus: This mod replaces Tourist Bus in the game. Copy the package file to your SimCityData folder, remove your old Tourist Bus Package (if installed), and enjoy seeing this bus rides in your city. It's only texturing for the time being. because I'm frustrated with 3D modeling actually (especially the UV mapping thing). Perhaps, Oppie, Takuoma, Tobse, etc could give some tutorial. LOL Should you find any bugs, please feel free to inform me by posting a comment. -

Tourist city with no industry or education
AusQB posted a topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Is it possible to create a culture specialization city with strictly only residential and commercial zones, and only basic services such as fire, police, health and mass transit (power, water, sewerage, garbage and education all provided from the region)? I'm working on one right now, but people are protesting about having no schools. Should I just ignore them? Is it just a reminder of the happiness I could be gaining, or do they slowly lose happiness without it? I don't actually have much education in the region yet, both my first two cities were heavily industrial (coal and oil respectively) to provide the basic necessities for the region, but both have grade schools. I'm planning to set up an education hub next with at least two universities (just for shits and giggles). EDIT: They are actually protesting that "there was no education". They are now leaving their wealthy modern city to attend crummy grade schools in polluted industrial towns. EDIT 2: Now there are some people threatening to leave if they don't get education. I guess it can't hurt to put down one school. However, if I only had to choose one, which would I go for? A university is just far too large for this city, but are there any factors that differ between the other three besides their capacities? I don't suppose a few libraries would suffice as a substitute for schools? EDIT 3: It obviously makes sense to have a high school as the gymnasium boosts tourism. I don't suppose it matters if I have two high schools and no grade school.
