CAN-AM - no boat automata sailing along [Solved]

Hello, Is there any way to change the "texture" (let's call it so, but it's a prop really) of the default NAM canals to something different? The reason I ask is that most of the plopped waters that already exist in my cities are either PEG's or deep blue Tahoe plops. I would like to just continue with this hue rather than add a new one and think of how to make tranitions from one into the other. Any help will be appreciated. -
Adding a taxi/uber mod that act as mass transit would definitely be interesting! The second link I think would be ideal.

Replaces the 3 Maxis taxi models and adds one new instance. 01.01.2023. Mercedes-Benz E-class W213 ( 2016-now ) sedan and wagon. Transit-enabled taxi and bus stop with automata generators. Version 3.0 Long ago I worked the night-shift as a big-city cab dispatcher so this lot creation is a bit of nostalgia. Suffice to say, in the wee-hours of the night, the clientele in the cab business gets very interesting. As quoted from the 'Taxi Driver' movie, All the animals come out at night. ________________________________________________________________ *** This download was updated. See the Changelog at the bottom of the page.. *** ________________________________________________________________ There are 3 2x2 lots, 1 1x2, and 1 3x3 lot in this download 1.) The basic lot with bus and taxi access and no transit-enabled road running through. Technically, all the lots are transit-enabled, meaning they all dispatch buses and taxis. 2.) A transit-enabled lot which must be connected to a road on 2 sides, and can be placed inline with a road. Cars, buses and taxis will flow through. The transit switch allows pedestrians to exit or enter cars, taxis and buses from the lot. 3.) A 2x2 transit-enabled lot as above with Cobble-stone base texture. 4.) A 1x2 version of the Maxis textured lot, also functions as a bus stop and only requires one side, any side, as all the lots, for automata to access. 5.) A 3x3 Commercial lot with large parking area. LEProp was used to add the title, description and icon to the lot, as well as for defining characteristics such as maintenance cost and how much power and water the lot uses (not too much). The secret to success is to not get frustrated with the quirks of each program; perseverance and patience will triumph. (mentionable quirks include ILive reader not giving an option as to which open file to save, and sometimes an icon in LeProp must be repeat-loaded and saved in order to appear. Also, the LE tends to easily crash as more lots and props are added.) So put on your cab dispatching cap and get those animals safely to their zoo habitats. When you answer the phone just say, SimCity Cabs. ________________________________________________________________ About Taxi Automata Taxis are a form of transportation available in the SimCity series. Taxis usually spawn only around rail stations and airports, although occasionally they can be seen elsewhere in the city. Like its real-life counterpart, the taxi is not a form of mass transit and taxis are usually run by private companies, therefore, taxi fares will not be included into your mass transit taxation panel. Taxis in the game are simply for aesthetic value, as they do not transport passengers, and sims do not use taxis as a method of transportation. Going to a strange town and finding your way about can be a challenge. You've just stepped off the plane and made your way through the terminal. After about 15 minutes of getting lost and collecting your bags you reach the street! Now what? You're supposed to go to this hotel but don't know where it is or if it exists at all. Rather than getting mugged on the way to the EL trains, just flag down a taxi and tell them where to go. It's not 2013 yet so you can get a nice whiff of stale cigarettes while being charged a pretty penny to realize you drove the longest route to your final destination! About the Upload- This mod converts the Taxi into a modified Chevrolet Impala. There are 3 different liveries included, based on various taxi companies from the United States. The liveries included are loosely based on the Yellow Cab Co, but can blend into almost any US-themed setting within the game. The liveries are not dependent on each other and can be used together. Dependencies? None required. -

I brought you an independent taxi repaint of Tokyo Kojin Taxi Cooperative Association (東京都個人タクシー協同組合/ abbr. as Tokokyo, 東個協) based on 'Taxi Crown Victoria' by Parker W Young. Tokokyo is an alliance formed by groups of independent taxies in Tokyo Met area, they just operates as a organised taxi service, but still they are independent (Hmmm?). Be advised 'Tokyo Musen' (東京無線) version is WIP and soon will be released, also the scale of vehicle is different from the others. What's with all those taxis/cabs jamming my city?

Hi there, My current city is getting jammed by thousands of yellow taxis/cabs every other morning. It is so bad that the city remains jammed for the entire day. They seem to pop out of commercial buildings (maybe hotels) or the airport. I am not sure where they are heading or why there are so many. By my airport there are so many that maybe 95% of all cars are taxis. The pity is that there is no actual dashboard/leaderboard to monitor how many taxis are generated in your city within a day. Surely it surpasses all other forms of transportation. The funny thing is that I don't seem to get this drama every day, some days trafic is just fine / fluid. Any ideas? Regards, WJ -

Thismodd will replace the default yellow taxi with an elephant from theanimal automata. Be warned that this will not be compatible with othermodds that replace the default yellow taxi. 2 sets of cabs. 1 set to replace the game default cabs and 1 set of additional taxis. All are of ford crown victorias, except 1 taxi is a windstar van. Now all of the cabs in your city can be that familiar yellow color. What we have here is a new transporation method. Sims take cabs! It is a 1x1 lot which you place near any road, which gives every pedestrian a ride to the office & back. Small plopp fee & no maintence (private business). There is also a 1x1 RoadTop lot which you place on the roads to save space. What it basically does is the reverse of a parking lot. Instead of turning cars into pedestrians, it turns pedestrians into cars. While this concept has been implemented into an older lot (rent-a-car or so) by someone else, i've decided to make some taxis. This is how it works: - Sims walk up to one of these stations, either from their home or some kind of MassTransit station (btw, taxis in this lot are not considered MT, but rather just Cars). They then convert to cars which takes them anywhere their own regular car would take them. - At the end of the day, they need to get back. Since they arrived at their workplace as a 'car', the simulation thinks its their own car and thus they just ride straight home. Think of it as taxis patroling the commercial districts. The next morning it starts over. Sim gets on MT to next taxi stop & takes a ride to work. <- this though depends on what is fastest. I've noticed in my tests that some sims prefer walking to one of the taxistands instead of taking their own car on the same road, which would be faster. I have also noticed that sims prefer using taxis on occations, instead of taking a bus which on a road actually travels faster. Though this is probably do to the fact that the taxi takes them directly to the work place, and if they would ride the bus or some other 'faster' MT they would have to walk from the station to the workplace. Anyway, just so you know, taxistands are common in metropolitan areas where taxis just park and wait for customers. You can find a lot of them in Vienna, Austria. No change made to anything else. ** changed one screenshot - the roundabout in the last made the transit arrows look kinda wierd. Besides, this is a better example ============== UPDATE VERSION 3 ============== - Added taxis driving up & down the streets - thx to darkmatter - Fixed a bug, that i originally concidered a feature, that would change cars back into pedestrians (simulating arriving passengers). This gave it a dual function of being a taxi stand AND a parking lot. Fixed that! Now it only converts pedestrians into cars and thats it! <- works out better this way. - Added description texts to each lot Lots are IMO complete now and i won't update them again unless a bug surfaces.
