SM2 Union Crane and Shovel Company Rail side plop version An 19th century building still in use today. There are quite a few of these structures still around, mostly in European cities. Some are abandoned, some have been renovated in to modern businesses. Yet others have actually been converted in to residential condos. Hi fellow simizens. I am genuinely aware that this is simple question and trust me, I really can't believe I am asking it but... How do I lay a single track railway with NAM39 installed?? I know, ok, it's simple right?...I've literally spent the last couple of hours trying to work it out but to no avail...I'm so sorry...I am truly ashamed EDIT: S*d's Law prevails and the moment I posted this and went back to SC4...I found it!

The Silver King Coalition Mines Company Terminal Ore House, an industrial structure in Park City, Utah, was a terminus for a double ropeway Bleichert style aerial tram system. The mine sent ore from its shafts along the tram to the terminal building in Old Town. From there it was taken away in rail cars. The terminus building is now gone but most of the towers are preserved. This building has been the subject of a few model railroad kits and kitbashes by others. I used Sanborn fire insurance maps, elevation drawings, and many available photographs, to model the ore house, boiler house and tram towers in Gmax. Caveats: The structure has been widened on one axis to sit on two rail lines 16m apart properly in SimCity. One siding on the prototype was bent to pass around a building, so I've done the same here. There were scale houses near the terminal structure which I haven't found good reference for, and haven't included. The rail cars are East Coast coal cars, not Western ore hoppers. Credits: Big thanks to the Historic Harbor team and Simmer2 for all the props for people and stuff on the ground. The ore house, boiler house, steam pipe, tram towers are my own work. Installation: Unzip to plugins folder. Removal: Bulldoze the lots and remove "Plugins/CT14/Silver King Coalition Terminal". Lots: Ore House It may look old and grungy now, but it was real fancy back when it was built! Landmarks: 4x8 I-HT plop, 200 jobs, with 2 STR connections for visual only, no through rail. Place on a spur. Aerial Tram Towers The towers aren't especially tall (about 15m) but they have LOD to clear any small buildings, etc in the path. Parks: 1x1 tower plop, 3-tile overhanging prop for total of 4x1 size, no effects. There is an unnamed prop family for towers (0x5f85e970) with variations on ore buckets and tower textures. When placing the lots, the helper arrow points in direction of cables. Four lots are included for base texture variations: Grass, Dirt, IRM I-D, IRM I-M. I'll try to make this as succinct as I can. I've reinstalled the NAM because I wanted to change some features. (I uninstalled the previous installation first.) Years ago there was double track/rail available for trains, but apparently that no longer exists in NAM...? Regardless, I couldn't find the double tracks I was used to working with years back, so I resigned myself to the fact that I'd have to deal with single rail and forget about continuing the railroad of a prior city I'd been working on way back when. The problem I'm having is that I can see how to use the puzzle piece for ground level single rail, BUT...I can't find the straight piece I'm supposed to use to drag from the starter piece. So the point of this topic is....help, please. How do I get single rail layed out? EDIT: Never mind. Just ignore what I said. I apparently need glasses (or perhaps to look a bit more closely), but I didn't realize double track IS still part of the game. It's the DTR. DUH!! And I figured out you lay DTR over the single track starter piece, and voila.

I looked for an answer to this question, honest I did If I drag STR to a neighbor, it *appears* to connect, but does it really? (I seem to recall the RHW uses special neighbor connector pieces, but I haven't found one in the Rail Menu - though it could be hiding somewhere).

Ortho Rail, Bus and Subway Station Transport Hub, by Mattb325. --------------------------------------- This is a fictional high capacity through rail and subway station designed to provide transport links with the orthogonal STR and DTR railways. Owing to the unique way I have designed this station means that in addition to being placed on flat terrain like most stations, it can also be used as a sunken STR/DTR station or as a raised berm STR/DTR station. It will work with most levels of the hole digger or raiser lots that come with the NAM, although visually it looks best between -15m and +15m. (Meaning it will work with +/- 5m, +/- 7.5m, +/- 10, +/- 15m, etc, etc). Now you can have a fully functioning station for any sunken depth or any raised height. This is quite unlike my earlier sunken station from 2011 which forced you to use a -15m trench. The station can easily be placed under NAM overpasses and works with default Maxis rail or the RRW re-skin. Freight will also pass through this station. This single lot handles all of these options to save on menu clutter. While I have made many multifunction stations before, this really is something quite different from all of my previous stations given how many uses one single lot can have. The platform area is a large overhanging prop and the railway station also provides a link to the subway and bus network. You do not have to link the subway or bus functions if you don't want to; the station functions perfectly with just a rail and road connection. However, a bus connection enables sims to use other bus stops on your city tile to get to the station, and connecting to your subway will allow SIMs to switch trip types to get to and from work in the quickest possible time. Having the subway function enables the station to cope with dense inner city applications, while the bus connection is great for outer suburban areas. The freight connection also enables it to be useful for farming communities. But, as stated previously, the station works perfectly with just a rail and road connection. To place, simply line up the station with the rail network and plop down. You then repeat the process on the other side of the tracks. Or you can leave the other side blank if you wish, either option works just fine (which is why this is also suitable for STR). If you have used the diagonal and FAR-3 versions of this station, then you are already familiar with the process for placement. You can then use car park fillers, ped mall pieces, parks/mmps or just plain old zoning to decorate the surrounding area as per the pictures. If you are using the station as a sunken or raised station, then fill the adjacent tiles with your favourite walls or even MMPs. The best thing about these stations is that you can have the platforms placed underneath NAM road overpasses and the sims will then use the elevated networks as well. The stations also provide 33 jobs: there are underground stairways adjacent to the entrance to provide access from one platform to another or just to cross the tracks :-) If you want a seamless look in all of your rail networks, I have also released a diagonal version and a FAR-3 version using this design. --------------------------------------- STATS Rail, Bus Station & Subway: Lot size : 1 x 2 Plop Cost: §200 Monthly Cost: §5 Budget Item: Mass Transit Menu: Rail Capacity: 130,000 Demand Created: Jobs§: 30, Jobs§§: 3, Jobs§§§: 0. SM2 True STR Sidings are here! Sidings are used mostly as a parking spot for trains and they are found practically in any nation that has a rail network. This pack consist of 12 different STR sidings. They are from 16 to 22 tiles long! Made with dozens of proprietary train props families for maximum diversity. Every time you plop one it will have different railcars showing on the lot so that even if you plop them side by side they will look different. I also made a custom rail design overlay therefore almost all of them have different rail design. GLR Off Road&Avenue Single track End points !

GLR & Tramway´s are getting back to old dual direction operation. Loops at the end of the line are fewer. GLR & Trams in SC4 now are architect on two track dual direction. Double track one way, aswell Double track one way or single one way stations would be nice. Some extra pieces one way and T switch or X cross over like pieces would be nice. Cosmeticly showing a one way direction loop or a tailback end point would be nice. Sory for the rough schema I produced I hope it will make things much more clear ! Above you see a normal loop where all trams enter one way and depart the other way. Below is a tailback track end point where trams switch driver heads and reverse back. First a switch to go into the loop single track and another swithc making it again double required aswell reversing it back. Second there can be cosmitic pieces maybe as the crossover may reverse the direction. Little inspiration of the rail crossover by strangiatotheme Dual way trams are know quit common in my area, mostly GLR, but recently aswell as normal tramline, so I would be interested or this is posible in SC4 or this maybe utopia for ever ! Hello everyone. I present you with SM2 Heritage Roundhouse. In the past, rail roundhouses were extensively used all over North America as a repair facility for trains, specifically locomotives. They were designed with that characteristic roundish design in order to take less real estate when building a train repair facility. Coupled with a massive turntable, they greatly decreased a rail yard footprint. There are a few still in operation (very few) and they are mostly used to house old and retired locomotives donated by railway companies. Sort of like a museum for engines. Some have been converted into retail space while keeping the nostalgic feel of days gone past by displaying old engines and equipment on the front of the building. This lot represents months of preparations and lots of specific props making. Together with a detailed and realistic custom base texture, I tried to capture reality as much as possible. Vester's latest train engines prop pack fits this lot perfectly due to the many angles he released. Also with the usage of a clever trick, you are now able to pick different textures (companies liveries) from 5 different texture packs he released along the engine prop pack. Once you install vester's prop pack you must choose one of his texture colors in order for the locomotives to show properly. The lot is 14X14 and is designed to allow either freight and passenger trains to cross the DTR section at the bottom of the lot, the other rail exits/entries will only connect visually and so will the street stubs. Plop cost 45,000 Bulldoze cost 4,500 Power consumed 190 Water consumed 120 Maintenance cost 220/month It will also provide 34 jobs. You will find it under the rail menu. This lot makes use of an extensive array of timed props with multiple angle designs in order to achieve a sort of animation with HD props. There are also many other timed props so that the lot looks livelier throughout the day. Action starts at 7am and keeps going until 6pm (closing time) after that time the lot will look empty because everyone has gone home but for one person and one vehicle, the night security guard on the left lower rail hut area. From time to time you may see overlapping timed props, especially at the turntable sequence, this is due to game lag and depending on the speed of your processor you may or may not see it. Wait a few game days and it will correct itself. Dependency list. This package contains models and two lots to allow you to switch from Rail (RRW Style) to an underground subway network. Included files MGB_RRW_DTR to Subway Ramp_453bcaf5.SC4Lot Lot file for DTR Rail to Subway converter. MGB_RRW_STR to Subway Ramp_1fc6cdcf.SC4Lot ** NEW ** Lot file for STR Rail to Subway converter. RRW Ramp_Resource.dat Required Models and Props. RRW Ramp Paths_RHD.dat Path files for RHD users. Most users should install this file. RHD is for sims driving on the right side of the road. zRRW Ramp Paths_LHD.dat Alternate path files for LHD users. DO NOT install this file unless you are using a LHD setup for SC4/NAM. LHD is for sims driving upon the left side of the road. Install Simply extract the files in the included .zip archive and place those you need somewhere in your Plugins folder. If you use my other mods, you could place these in the root of the z____MGB Mods folder, but it's not specifically required. Please ensure previous versions are removed completely before installing. It should be noted that I have amended all the original files, which should be considered as obsolete. Usage When you want to switch the rail network to subway, find a suitable space (5x1) for the ramps and place either the STR (Single Track Rail) or DTR (Dual Track Rail) variant as required. You will find these lots in the Misc. Transit menu, just after the bus stops usually. Make sure you draw rail through the lot completely to activate the paths on the ramp. Then switch to the subway tool (Shift + T), to continue the network from the ramp with subway. You can either switch to subway from here on out, otherwise you can build a second ramp for the rail to continue. Limitations As with all such lots, when you switch to subway only passenger traffic can continue through the subway. So either find another route for your freight traffic or perhaps consider using the dedicated URail pieces that come with the NAM. Due to the nature of LODs, i.e. you cannot make them below ground, the rail automata must "collide" with the LODs when entering the ramp. However, upon testing I found I preferred for the trains to enter into the ramp, despite the glitch, as opposed to disappearing at the beginning of the lot. The point being, this is not a bug. Details / Stats Cost to Plop: 2,144 Monthly Cost: 20 Bulldoze Cost: 309 Capacity: 66,000 Otherwise the lots are neutral, causing no pollution, requiring no power/road access and providing no jobs. Hello everyone and thank you for downloading my lot/s. This time I created a much needed freight yard more suited for farming regions. It could also be placed in any industrial settings if you wish. SM2 cnut Grain Shipping. Just like its namesake, it is a grain shipping facility. Farmers bring their grains, (wheat, barley, corn, oats and so on), on trucks which are then weighted on drive on scales. Grains are then vacuumed from the open trucks and are sorted and stored in their appropriate silos. Grains are then pumped into specially made train cars and shipped to mills where they are turned into flour, corn starch, cereals etc. This lot will also allow passenger trains to go through it so you will see both type of trains traverse it. SM2 Rail Service Yard 2 Hello fellow player. Yard 2 is a tad older than Yard 1, there is even an old abandoned steam locomotive sitting in a corner just rusting away. Also you can see the rail tracks are really old as well. Train cars will come and go throughout the day as will workers. The base of this lot was repaved a few years ago with 3/4 inch crushed limestone when the economy had an uptick due to a local factory re-opening for business. Both passenger and freight trains will pass through the lot and like Yard 1, it is not a freight yard but a holding place for trains and it acts as a small repair facility for minor issues. After many requests for a popular modern train station remake I decided to use Simgoober's wonderful SimTropolis train station model for the first one. More will come! SM2 Rail Service Yard 1. Hello fellow player. This lot is one of 2 of a STR (Single Track Rail) set I have been wanting to release for a while. So, I decided to make this lot a bit..uhmm animated. I achieve it by creating a few dozen timed props and some are in families. Every time you plop this lot some of the train cars will change configurations, furthermore, the service rail line (the one nearest the gravel road) will display 2 different convoys. Between 5am and 1pm you get the tanker cars and the first shift repair crew. One of the tanker blew the air brakes and you can see the crew making that repair. Between 2Pm and 4am you will get a convoy of train cars loaded with beets but one of the wagons has a very serious issue. The left front axle bearing retainers broke apart shearing the massive bolts therefore a crane had to be called in to lift the wagon onto a flatbed truck and bring it to a better equipped repair facility (I think they will write it off). 80% of the other train cars will appear and disappear according to preset times throughout the day in order to simulate activity It is fully rail transit enabled, just run the STR rail through it and watch both passenger and freight trains run across the lot. Custom texture included It requires power and water. It also provides 38 jobs. Open the zip and drop "SM2 Rail Service Yard 1" folder in your plugins and have fun.
