UK Road Networks - NAM Equivalent
mangojuice replied to mangojuice's topic in NAM & Transit Networks
Thank you @rsc204 for your input and advice. I'm beginning to understand what you mean here as I have been trying to figure out how to go about recreating this... Pretty much the regular run of the mill UK junction and before actually trying I kinda figured that it would be simple....- 6 Replies

Hi everyone especially my fellow UK mayors... I've just started my first region in 10 years and already I have come to a grinding halt...so I'm asking my fellow UK mayors (or anyone really) their thoughts on NAM UK road network equivalents... My way of thinking is as follows: Motorway - NAM RHW6 Dual Carriageway - NWM4 Avenue (My brain can't get past the word "Avenue") Single Carriageway - NWM2 Avenue or possibly RHW2? Thoughts anyone?

Hi everyone. I've been searching through the NAM menus for a road FLUP under RHW specifically RHW6-C and I've reached the conclusion that such a thing does not exist in NAM - am I correct?...Please tell me I'm wrong and I've missed it.... Many thanks.

Thank you @Tarkus I actually have that video of yours already downloaded as a learning aid (along with your FTL vids) but I didn't realize that they are the same drag patterns. Here we go...all sorted

Ok, so after a few days of experimenting and trying to learn NAM I finally decide to start a region (my first since playing 10 years ago) and BAM! I run into my first problem and after spending 3hrs trying to sort it myself and reading through the NAM Documentation I'm still at loss - BTW, I know that the problem is me and not NAM. So, the first thing I decide to do is to lay down the main transportation arteries, the first being a RHW - 6C. Please note that I decided to learn RHW "on the fly'... Yay I managed to create my first diagonal....all good so far... Coming in for my 2nd diagonal to bring the highway back on the straight & narrow.... Well...that ain't right.... To try and create this curve I have tried: Dragging the outside lane so it is one tile ahead of the median and the median is one tile ahead of the inside lane then starting from the outside lane dragging the diagonal. The inside lane will still not drag. Dragging the inside lane so it is one tile ahead of the median and the median is one tile ahead of the outside lane then starting from the inside land dragging the diagonal. The inside lane will still not drag. I've tried clicking all over the place in the hope that the inside lane will lose it's red "nope I"m not going to be dragged anywhere". I've read the NAM documentation titled "Constructing Diagonals and Base Curves" under the RHW and as far as I can make out there are no 'Wide Radius Curves' or 'Multi Radius Curves' available for the 6C. I know the problem is me and I'm doing something wrong or missing something...can someone please point me in the right direction to correct this curve... Many thanks for any assistance offered.

City crashing with NAM installed on 4 GB RAM system.
mangojuice replied to SC4Fanatic2004's topic in NAM & Transit Networks
I run SC4 on my 4GB laptop with the full NAM40 installed and never had a crash yet. I will also mention that I do have the 4GB patch installed and my cpu count is set to 1 via the SC4 Launcher. -
Hi all. So, I'm trying to learn the basics of RHW before I start my first region and I came across this piece... I am continually reading through the NAM Documentation and unable to find this piece mentioned (although I will admit I may have missed it as there is a small library's worth of documentation ). What is this piece used for and how does one use it please? Many thanks.

What is happening to the city tiles after being saved...?
mangojuice replied to mangojuice's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
@rsc204 Coincidently, I have been running in both windowed and fullscreen (through SC4 Launcher) and I have the latest (last) Nvidia driver and I'm running at 1366x768x32. I've been terraforming my region all afternoon... Open city tile > Plant Trees > Save > Exit To Region > Open Next City Tile > Repeat...and what I've noticed is the few times that this glitch occurred, if I reopened the offending city tile, save again then exit then the glitch would correct itself (it may take a few attempts but eventually the tile sorts itself out)...- 6 Replies

What is happening to the city tiles after being saved...?
mangojuice replied to mangojuice's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
Unfortunately no, I have the "Save Warning Disabled" Mod installed. I'm beginning to think that it may have something to do with the thumbnail. If I remember correctly, you can save with a thumbnail or save without a thumbnail, correct?- 6 Replies

What is happening to the city tiles after being saved...?
mangojuice posted a topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
Hi everyone. I was wondering why this is happening and if possible how to correct this issue: As you can see from the image the problem does not occur all the time after saving city tiles and is not region specific but I'm at a loss as to why this happening and how to correct it... Laptop Specs: Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1 CPU: Intel Core i7 2670QM RAM: 4GB DDR3 Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M Has anyone any suggestions/advice please? Many thanks.- 6 Replies

Hello again fellow Mayors & Mayoresses. I started a city tile just to play around with the NWM/NAM when I noticed the condition of the three CS$ units below: Are they depreciating/on the way to abandonment? If so, why please? I realise that the pollution is high but they don't care about that. Is it because there isn't enough workers employed there? Also, this leads me to something related that's been on my mind...if a R$$/R$$$/CS$$/CS$$$ depreciates down to $/$$ can they recover back to their original state if the conditions are corrected and met or do they stay at their depreciated condition/value for ever more? Many thanks in advance peeps

Street/Road Lights Not Working
mangojuice replied to mangojuice's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
Ahhhhh, as I'm only playing test tiles at the moment I haven't actually plopped a power station and opted for the power cheat in Buggi's cheat menu...maybe that is the problem I'll have a look when I get home... EDIT: That was the issue, no power station plopped - Street lights won't work with power cheat.- 4 Replies
