    Hello everyone. I present you with SM2 Heritage Roundhouse. In the past, rail roundhouses were extensively used all over North America as a repair facility for trains, specifically locomotives. They were designed with that characteristic roundish design in order to take less real estate when building a train repair facility. Coupled with a massive turntable, they greatly decreased a rail yard footprint. There are a few still in operation (very few) and they are mostly used to house old and retired locomotives donated by railway companies. Sort of like a museum for engines. Some have been converted into retail space while keeping the nostalgic feel of days gone past by displaying old engines and equipment on the front of the building. This lot represents months of preparations and lots of specific props making. Together with a detailed and realistic custom base texture, I tried to capture reality as much as possible. Vester's latest train engines prop pack fits this lot perfectly due to the many angles he released. Also with the usage of a clever trick, you are now able to pick different textures (companies liveries) from 5 different texture packs he released along the engine prop pack. Once you install vester's prop pack you must choose one of his texture colors in order for the locomotives to show properly. The lot is 14X14 and is designed to allow either freight and passenger trains to cross the DTR section at the bottom of the lot, the other rail exits/entries will only connect visually and so will the street stubs. Plop cost 45,000 Bulldoze cost 4,500 Power consumed 190 Water consumed 120 Maintenance cost 220/month It will also provide 34 jobs. You will find it under the rail menu. This lot makes use of an extensive array of timed props with multiple angle designs in order to achieve a sort of animation with HD props. There are also many other timed props so that the lot looks livelier throughout the day. Action starts at 7am and keeps going until 6pm (closing time) after that time the lot will look empty because everyone has gone home but for one person and one vehicle, the night security guard on the left lower rail hut area. From time to time you may see overlapping timed props, especially at the turntable sequence, this is due to game lag and depending on the speed of your processor you may or may not see it. Wait a few game days and it will correct itself. Dependency list.     SM2 Rail Service Yard 2 Hello fellow player. Yard 2 is a tad older than Yard 1, there is even an old abandoned steam locomotive sitting in a corner just rusting away. Also you can see the rail tracks are really old as well. Train cars will come and go throughout the day as will workers. The base of this lot was repaved a few years ago with 3/4 inch crushed limestone when the economy had an uptick due to a local factory re-opening for business. Both passenger and freight trains will pass through the lot and like Yard 1, it is not a freight yard but a holding place for trains and it acts as a small repair facility for minor issues.   6. Hey everyone. I realize I don't participate too much into the forums, but I have downloaded from this website religiously for years. My glitch deals with a particular issue. This primarly affects the R$$ and R$$$ low density houses. For some reason, my houses will have lawns that will stretch out into the streets, covering the pavement. In other cases, I'll have houses that will not show the lawn from the house, but the pre-zoned land. This tends to affect the Maxis R$$ and R$$$ houses, as I've had no issue with the plugin downloaded houses. Hope that this is descriptive enough and that I'm not throwing anyone off. However, I do think this is something I downloaded years ago but haven't been bothered to remove until just recently. Any assistance will be appreciated.

    Rail Yard and Spur Textures, Mega-pack 1 VERSION 1.02 In this mega-pack are base and overlay textures used in the creation of more realistic railyards and industrial rail lots. Included in this set are rail spurs, multi-track switches, roadcrossings, and some miscellaneous base and overlay textures. The primary use for the base and overlay textures is for prop placement within the lot you are trying to create. So far, all props work normally no matter where they are placed on the tile, eg; train cars and locomotives used as props will appear and disappear according to their schedule if that is what they are supposed to do. Static props will remain..., umm..., static. I have created mainly BASE textures so that road overlays can be used with the track textures that have room for them, eg. track textures that use 1/2 or less of the tile space. It is understood that you can place more than one overlay texture on a tile, but this increases the number of objects used by the SC4Lot file. The ability to use a single base texture with only one overlay cuts down the number of objects used by the lot file, enabling you to place more props. **VERSION 1.02 NOTES: These are the very same textures that were released back in 2006, with ONE exception: They have a different TGI number. The reason for this re-release is that the original TGI numbers used "0" as a wealth indicator which may or may not cause a problem when the Lot using the original textures became abandoned, the rail textures on the Lot then became "randomized",...sometimes,...not a big problem if the Lot was a Rail Station, but on Industrial Lots that are 'plopped' it would cause some visual discrepancies,...no game crashes, just the Lot looked odd after abandonment,...solution then was to re-plop the Industrial Lot. In VERSION 1.02, the wealth indicator was given the value "4" which would prevent this randomization effect. You can still use both packages as my older Industrial creations have not been updated yet with this package. Over time and Real Life permitting, Mega-Pak version 1.00 will be phased out. In Version 3 (aka. ncd Railyard Texture Mega-Pack Vol01 v3): Both in the original Version 1.01 and Version 1.02 the whole textures set was accidentially duplicated and doubled the file size. Instead of the original 4 MB size the cleaned up file has a size of 2.01 MB. For removing the outdated/old versions you will find the Cleanitol_Railyard Texture Mega-Pack Vol01 v3.txt. Run the script with one of the third party Cleanitol Tools: nos.17 Cleanitol (new tool) BSC Cleanitol (old tool) Special Note on Textures used in the Lot Editor: Please keep in mind that textures by themselves CAN NOT be 'transit enabled', only lots can be 'transit enabled'. Also, you can transit enable the lot that uses these textures, but the game's automata will only use the 2 tracks in the center of the tile if it is used for Stations(Freight and Passenger). The game will ignore the tracks on the left and right side within the tile and if you transit enable a tile with only a single track running through it, you may see train automata running across empty ground. The only exception is custom made Path Files, which is beyond the scope of this Texture Pack. Future lots using these textures will possibly have custom Path Files. Let me know what you think. Be Constructive! As of Network Addon Mod V37 the default rail has become the RealRailWay (RRW) (instead of the original Maxis Rail). The textures in this pack are meant to be compatible with the original Maxis Rail textures, but you can find RealRailWay compatible override sets for this and many other rail textures in the following: NCD-BSC RealRailway Texture Pack V2 by eggman121 and rivit replaced by the Real RailWay (RRW) Reskin 3rd Party Lot Support v3.48 (SC4Evermore) and on the Simtropolis STEX. Installation: Copy/extract the ncd parent folder into your plugins. If you extracted the ~Documents folder into your plugins, too, it's highly recommended to keep it, but move it out of the Plugins folder. Un-Installing: To un-install the textures, simply delete the following file from your plugins: Railyard Texture Mega-Pack Vol01 v3.dat If you use this texture pack, please give credit where credit is due.

    No city or region will be complete without some junkyards and scrapdealers around. They may not be pretty, but quite useful to anybody who is into do-it-yourself repairs. Here are two scrapyards, one for rural (3x2) and one for urban (4x2) settings.     The Modular Railyard System (MRyS) is designed to allow users to construct Freight Railyards of various sizes and layouts. (Future expansion sets may accommodate Passenger Maintenance Yards and various Industrial Rail Spurs and sidings). In this set are 14 Transit Enabled start sections which function as freight rail stations and 24 expansion/end/joiner/divider sections that are used to complete the railyards. These expansion sections are Dirty Industrial Lots that provide jobs, while the start sections increase job demand and handle the freight capacities for the expansion sections only. Special note: This package is not intended to function as a Freight Station, but to simulate the function of a large railyard. The start sections should act as the freight stations for the expansion sections only. [-further experimentation and updates will improve this function, but for now, consider this package to be the final beta.] Please make all suggestions for improvement in the support threads listed at the bottom of this description. The Railyard components are further categorized into small(24 tile start section), medium(32 tile start section), and large(48 tile start section). Even though the small yard section is relatively large on the game maps, please keep in mind that real-life Railyards are, by their very nature, very large real estate hungry enterprises. Anything smaller, is just a freight station or siding. Although I used jestarr's rolling stock to populate the yard sections, you can use the LotEditor to replace it with any rolling stock you want. There are other freight cars available on the STEX, and off-site exchanges such as Gizmo's. The idea for a 'modular' railyard system was originally proposed in NCD's support thread "Of Railyards and Steelmills". Later, Frankie_Grove and aleking got together to discuss the prospect of creating a Modular Railyard System that would enable the user to make different size railyards from component Lots. I showed them some of my research and was invited to come up with a 'Basic' design for the project.     Someone is getting rich in SimCity building all those roads and skyscrapers. The Buildright Construction Co. is happy to take the rap. The yard is where all that equipment goes at the end of the day. This was done on a landmark blank lot and 5x5 squares. Cost 125S to place and no mm.
