    An old favorite of mine revisited... Here is a small set of modular lots designed to build your own marketplace in any size and shape around the Kingston Market Hall. DEPENDENCIES * Kingston Market (see notes below) * SG 01 Mega Props * Paeng Texture Pack v103 ~ Optional ~ * Small Market Hall by Kwakelaar DEVELOPER NOTES The needed dependency BSCBATProps Gascooker Vol04 is INCLUDED in the 'Kingston Market' install package from SC4D! * That file might also be inside one of GC's megapacks - I prefer the very small Vol04 though, as it contains no 'ballast'. Your mileage may vary! Kingston Market is a functional COM landmark with jobs (see in-game menu for details) - so it needs power, water and street access. There are no reward conditions. The original 'timed' functions were preserved. The Market Stalls are plain eyecandy landmarks, but need a little power and water. The three additional lots by Kwakelaar are optional. If you don't want to use them, delete that file (paeng_KingstonMarketStalls_Kwa.dat). All lots are at or near the end of your Landmarks menu with custom icons. INSTALLATION Just drop the whole bundle in your Plugins. You may also opt to install only certain items - remove the ones you do not wish to use. To un-install - first, bulldoze any lots built with this addon, then remove the complete folder from your Plugins. To keep your in-game menu tight, move all *.SC4Lot files from the dependencies to a safe location outside your plugins. It is NOT conditional either - build it anytime you want (or rather: anytime you can afford it). By default the Power Plant comes with a patch to prolong its lifespan. If you prefer your plant to delapidate over time (and possibly blow up), just remove the patch (z_Age_Patch) from your installation. You may also want to take appropriate measures against the high pollution and water consumption. The lots in 'Part II' are regular IND items (ploppable), providing I-D jobs and tax income. They need power, water and road access - see the in-game menu for details. You can use them for your 'Nuclear Facility' or as standalone industrial items.     This Abandoned Parking Lot was made by Paeng and originally was uploaded onto the PLEX (or appeared there as a forum attachment)and hasn't been available according to my best knowledge. I made this readme to collect all the dependencies into one place for easier access with updated links. Please note with the permission of the Simtropolis Staff Members (Cori & Cyclone Boom) and Catty-CB, this file has been uploaded on behalf of Paeng. It was not available anymore due to the unfortunate demise of SimPeg. All the works in this download were created by Paeng. Installation: Unzip the whole bundle, or COPY the "Paeng" folder from the *.zip into your plugin folder. You don't need to keep the "Documentation" folder. To uninstall, bulldoze any instance of this lot in your city, then remove the file(s) from your Plugins.     This set will make it possible to construct a double-sided perimeter fence around special industries, airports, prisons, secret facilities or anything else you want to protect. The set has seven pieces: 1x1 straight 2x1 straight 1x1 outer curve 1x1 inner curve 1x1 inner gate (access to inner area) 3x2 main gate (eyecandy) 2x1 main gate (transit enabled) Also included is a set of four path textures - concrete (default), asphalt, red stone and plain dirt. Choose one of the textures only (or rename the one you want to use with the prefix 'z_...', i.e. 'z_asphalt.dat'). You can exchange the texture for another one any time, no need to re-plop the lots. Make sure the 'keep_this_texture.dat' is installed all the time, as it contains the custom overlays. Of course you can also change the path texture with anything you please using LotEditor. The eyecandy gate can be used for any buildings that don't need direct road access. For all others you can use the transit enabled gate.     View Album If you're up to it - put on your hiking boots and come along, the plan is like this - A cabin boat will take us across the lake and into the river, where we hire a punt to take us up to the first in a series of rapids. From here we hike up a rocky cliff and through some dense forest until we reach the clearing with an ancient mysterious stone circle. After a short meditation we'll continue through the forest to the edge of the cliff. We'll cross the gorge via the old Kawarau Bridge and on to the small viewing platform that offers a spectacular view of the rapids. From there it's an easy walk down the side of the cliff until we hit the road and a nearby busstation. The bus will take us straight to the next pub... :-) Hours later - the video taken during the hike... Okay, go cure your blisters... :-))

    No city or region will be complete without some junkyards and scrapdealers around. They may not be pretty, but quite useful to anybody who is into do-it-yourself repairs. Here are two scrapyards, one for rural (3x2) and one for urban (4x2) settings.     First of all, the Kudos - to Voltaire and Ace Bovenopdeberg for creating the fantastic airport props. And to SimcityFuturist, who came up with the (brilliant) idea to turn some of them into a large Bus Terminal. Now for myself I wanted the terminal more modular (my pet peeve ;-) and also better fitting into a more suburban setting, as the current design rather has a strong 'inner city' feel to it. So here is my re-lot of SimcityFuturist's Regional Bus Terminal - with a few additional wrinkles... ;-) LIST OF ITEMS * 14x5 - main Bus Terminal * 14x2 - Bus Parking (large) * 7x2 - Bus Parking (small) See Dev Notes below for more details. See the included Installation Guide (PDF) with a precise listing of the needed items. You'll be able to reduce that complex bundle to a tight 2Mb and free your menus from any items you do not use! So what else is different in this pack? * Smaller footprint - the lot has been resized to 14x5 (before: 14x9). * Modular - instead is has now separate Bus Parking (14x2 or 7x2) for more flexible layouts; in tight spots you could even skip them, e.g. to replace them with underground parking or similar. * More Capacity - the terminal now has a capacity of 35.000 (before: 1.000), so there should be no more traffic jams. Note: Capacity was raised in v1.1 * Added COM Boost - it also gives a slight boost to nearby COM. * Added Jobs - the additional Bus Parking has no traffic switches, but generates some jobs (80 or 40 CS$$). Naturally, you can also use the Bus Parking strips as standalone items (without the Terminal). If you do so, plop any Bus Stop(s) of your choice to provide traffic switching capabilities. * Mac Capacity Bug - fixed in this version. * Complete re-lot - to match the new footprint. Gives it a less 'inner city' feeling, so it's also suitable for more suburban areas. * Reduced dependencies - you can skip the SimFox Trees, BSC MEGA Props CP Vol01, BSC MEGA Props CP Vol02, VIP CarPack vol1... even the NAM is not mandatory any more. Big deal, you might say - but hey, less dependencies always feels safer - after all, we never know what the guy next door uses (or not)... ;-) * MMP friendly occupant sizes - to add more trees and greenery, just use any from your own arsenal of MMPs.     A little tribute to all the content producers who make the extra effort to write a meaningful and precise documentation for their offerings. And a tribute to all the folks who make the extra effort to actually read that documentation... In that spirit, this is a regular library. The only difference is that you can get any of the many books for a lower price than normal - over 100.000 titles for a maintenance cost of 350/monthly. Kudos as well to Prepo who once batted this little jewel, now set on a new lot for modern surroundings.     Sometimes we would like to have a sizable area that is not criss-crossed by uniform streets and roads... but we can't because in most cases we then lack road-access for the lots. This set offers a bag-of-tricks to get around that, so you can make apparently un-connected open spaces - useful for industrial compounds, warehouse districts, waterfronts, large parking areas and more. LIST OF ITEMS * 3 transit-enabled Extenders (straight, cross, Tee) * 2 transit-enabled gates * 3 perimeter fence sections (1x, 3x, curve) * 2 under-bridge extenders (left, right) DEPENDENCIES * Murimk Prop Pack Vol03 - Industrials * Grunge Concrete Set * PEG Security Fencing Kit * SHK Parking Pack * SPOT (Orientation Helpers, optional) DEVELOPER NOTES See a demo on how to use the TE extenders here! The lots are mostly neutral and cheap to plop. The apparent lack of props and lotted items is on purpose - players are supposed to have most possible freedom in designing their own scenes using IND lots, fillers and MMPs (i.e. Murimk Prop Pack Vol03, GridBusters and similar items). That should help building dedicated IND areas... Be creative ;-) You can get additional visual interest by using different streetside mods and SAM streets (the core set also works as an effective 'SAM Stopper')... A bit challenging at times, but well worth the effort. You find all items at or near the end of the 'Transit | Misc' menu with custom icons.     This mod will simplify and straighten out all industrial lots - I-D, I-M and I-H. FIX! Unfortunately there was a mistake in this mod - the various stages and densities were not properly represented. That has been fixed, but --sorry to say-- you'll have to download and re-install the mod. Sorry for the inconvenience! USE ONLY WITH FRESH CITY TILES. DO NOT JUST RUN THIS MOD IN ESTABLISHED CITIES! You first need to bulldoze all default industrial lots! (See notes below...) One of the biggest problems with default industrials is that Maxis dressed them with a rather nasty base texture (no offense meant) and the staggering amount of 5(!) props, creating plenty of boring repetitions. To make industrials more interesting, their footprints were reduced to a minimum and most of the forever repeating props have been removed. This will allow you to build up small industrial pockets, where the creative use of 'bulldoze and re-plop', making lots 'historical' plus some seasoning with custom items, props and parking lots can transform even the grimiest industrial area into an eyecatcher. DEPENDENCIES ~ none ~ DEVELOPER NOTES The chaotic I-D texture has been replaced with Grunge Concrete, I-M now has a more neutral concrete look, and the I-H comes with a very clean-looking light concrete. Because of the small footprints there is no over-abundance of these texture and everything blends nicely and/or as much as you want. So basically you work with your IND lots as always - just zone your parcels and let them grow. As usual you get an array of lots with different sizes from 1x1 up. The main difference will be that your lots are now packed even tighter than before. And look better... :-) The rest is just a matter of setting your industrial fillers and MMPs to work :-) USE ONLY WITH FRESH CITY TILES. DO NOT JUST RUN THIS MOD IN ESTABLISHED CITIES! You first need to bulldoze all default industrial lots! Actually that is not hard to do, given the 'transient' nature of industrial material. But do make sure you catch them all - best would be to pause your game, use the 'Zone' view and remove (de-zone) all IND structures, then re-build with the mod in place. Your city might take a temporary hit, but experience shows that the books balance out rather quickly... Industrials are pretty sturdy INSTALLATION Put the whole bundle into your Plugin folder.     Yes, we finally can! What?! Yes, after all these years it is now possible to have nice PedMalls with all kinds of motifs, making them in effect regular little 1x1 parks that can be put together to form larger parks or alleys or plazas or such - all with full pedmall functionality... and teeming with life! With that in mind you can now really plan for extended car(e)free pedestrian malls and shopping miles that are more than vast, empty and cold looking blobs of concrete (or "marble")... For this purpose I included 20 different 'PedMall Parks' for you to enjoy. CAUTION! This is not your average 'Drop'n'Plop' Mod! You MUST read the ReadMe, all the way to the end! Otherwise your CPU will melt down, your RAM will delapidate and your Monitor will catch the Pixel-Error-Pox! I won't reprint the whole ReadMe in this description - the installation instructions need to be read in peace and quiet. So here and now just a quick overview... DEPENDENCIES * NAM (I presume you're up-to-date with that * PedMall NAM Facelift Mod (! More info on this link in the ReadMe !) * SG Vol 01 Megapack * Porkie Props Vol01 and Vol02 USING THE PEDMALLS IN THE GAME The new lots are all under the FIRST pedmall icon (the white one with that awful single centered lamp post). The specialty here: Plop a piece, move the mouse away and back again, click - a new piece will plop (so no need to bulldoze, just always move the mouse out and back in)... that way you can cycle through all the attached PedMall Parks in an endless loop. Be aware though that they plop totally random, so you need a little bit of patience if you are after a certain piece or a certain order. And yes, you can rotate the piece between clicks to get a different orientation. Otherwise they function just the way any default PedMall functions. See the additional screenshots for some impressions. DEVELOPER NOTES All items of this set come with the Maxis Default base texture ('white'), but can be treated with your favorite sidewalk mod - like the image above shows them with my 'Sandstone Mod'. The items are all numbered (an enclosed image shows the numbers of the park pieces) - so for any you do not wish to use, just remove the corresponding DAT file from the folder. !     A set of handsome bike paths combined with alley parks to get your bikers off the busy roads and avenues, at the same time providing nice stretches of small parkways for a leisurely stroll... See a full catalog of all included pieces in the included ReadMe! How to Plan a Bike Path These bike paths are wide enough to have 2-way bicycle 'traffic' - so they are only built on one side of a road. Note that they don't form regular 'networks' with criss-crossing intersections (cross or tee), but instead they usually follow a stretch of road or avenue, detour around COM properties and sometimes just end at some road intersection or a particular building, e.g. a school, a park or similar. Since they do block development, you need to be creative in your zoning and in planning your bike paths. Make your zones either face a side road or detour your paths around some of the developments. Combined smartly, you will not 'lose' too much road access. See Readme for more information!     To further strengthen the logging operations in your region, here is a second MTP-style addon. It refreshes many previous items and adds a number of new ones as well. Most of it lives off old proven dependencies, but a few new ones had to be added - see the 'checklist' below...     Okay, riding the wave... ;-) so you can all use the fabulous props just released by Shok, here is a whole range of ready made parking lots for many occasions - small, medium and large, straight and diagonal orientation, with different pavements and accessories for $, $$ and $$$ areas, COM as well as IND... All the lots have Park'n'Ride functionality and provide a small income (Business Deal) to compensate for your valuable real estate. * Allow some loading time for the second screenshot - it's an animation showing the change of vehicles during the course of a day... LIST OF ITEMS Small - 14 lots (1x1, 1x2, 2x1) Medium - 6 lots (2x2, 2x3, 3x2, 3x3, 4x4) Large - 4 lots (6x2, 6x3, 6x6, 7x4) DEPENDENCY SHK Parking Pack DEVELOPER NOTES All lots come in various configurations and are kept in separate files so you can easily select and install just your favorites. Move any lot you do not want to use out of your Plugins to a safe location. All cars are timed prop-families, so you get a lot of variety and 'movement' during a day. If a lot seems to have too many repetitions, bulldoze and re-plop for a different mix until satisfied. The pieces are located in the 'Transport | Miscellaneous' menu with custom icons. You'll notice that the ingame menu indicates things like $, $$ or $$$, IND or COM, straight or diagonal - this is not so much saying where you should use a particular lot, but wether it uses plain concrete, more fancy accessories, straight or diagonal parking bays and so on... Of course you can use any of the lots wherever you feel they'll fit in. All parking lots need a little power and generate very slight pollution. The values (including plop cost and monthly income) depend on the size of the lot (see ingame menu for more details). Note1: THERE ARE TWO *OPTIONAL* MODS INCLUDED! 1) For all who do not care for the extra income there is a small (optional) mod that will cancel out the business deal from every lot. 2) For all who prefer to have visually transit-enabled driveways there is another (optional) mod which does just that. Both mods are packed in additional ZIP files (included in this download). Unpack and install these additional ZIPs ONLY IF - * you DO NOT want the lots to generate income; and/or * you DO want transit-enabled driveways. If you are happy with the default lots, store the optional ZIPs in a safe location (together with the documentation). Note2: A word about the 'SHK Parking Pack' - this will be my 'standard' dependency for all my cars and parking textures needs in future lotting projects. Don't hesitate to install it - you'll get good use out of it :-) INSTALLATION Put the whole bundle into "(My )Documents\Plugins". You may of course opt to install only certain items - just remove any lot(s) you do not wish to use - but make sure you always keep the Resource file (KEEP_parking_resource.dat) installed. If you install the optional mods, keep them in the same folder as the core lots, but maintain the provided z_folders. The mods must load AFTER the core lots. It's more expensive to plop (higher capacity) but lower on monthly cost than the urban jail, since the inmates plant veggies for their own support.     This Prepos Automobile Shredder Re-Lot was made by Paeng and originally was uploaded onto the PLEX (or appeared there as a forum attachment) and hasn't been available according to my best knowledge. I made this readme to collect all the dependencies into one place for easier access with updated links. Please note with the permission of the Simtropolis Staff Members (Cori & Cyclone Boom) and Catty-CB, this file has been uploaded on behalf of Paeng. It was not available anymore due to the unfortunate demise of SimPeg. All the works in this download were created by Paeng. Installation: Unzip the whole bundle, or COPY the "Paeng" folder from the *.zip into your plugin folder. You don't need to keep the "Documentation" folder.   23. Paeng's Sandstone Mod

    These Mods - one for sidewalks and one for base textures - will replace a number of default textures with new custom textures designed mainly for rural villages, towns, suburbs and small cities. Basically it is meant to freshen up all those places using a lot of the default sandstone or an overdose of 'white' and 'pink' faux marble - mainly sidewalks, plazas, fillers and to some extent also the bases below buildings. The default sidewalk textures will be replaced with a new texture set for high, medium and low wealth/density. All base textures and overlays related to the Maxis default sidewalks (Pink, White and Grey) as well as the default Sandstone can be changed to the new Medium Wealth (key) texture with this mod. The Dirt Sidewalks along agricultural developments change to a new texture more related in color as well. Installation The default (and recommended) scenario will install the 'Sidewalk_Mod' with all-wealth-dependent sidewalks (high, medium and low wealth/density) and the 'Base_Overlay_Mod' with all the new base and overlay textures. The unpacked Mod resides in the folder 'zzz_PaengTextureMod' to ensure that it loads last. Keep it in the root (1st level) of your Plugins, don't put it into any subfolder. Developer Notes Control Freak Options Both parts of this mod can be configured and customized in numerous ways. The included ReadMe has a highly detailed section for all who'd like to get into it. For all who'd like to 'Read Before Download' first, there is an Online Version Available. Extras A 'Texture Pack' provides all the new textures and can be used for any individual lotting projects.     This park system combines three updated versions of previous park sets - Monument Park, Urban Gardens and White Sands Park. Mainly I wanted to create the possibility to lay out a good variety of parks, paths and gardens for any type of city - particularly with options for different path textures to be used on the same city tile. You can now have three very distinct park-styles in your city, each with its own character (layout, props, textures) - and you can mix and mingle them any which way you please... and even exchange or unify textures as you desire.     To give your city a bigger variety of gas stations, here is a set of ten different brands in various shapes and sizes, based on the great set of models released by Heblem (LBT). Chevron - 5x2 (14 Jobs) Conoco - 6x3 (15) Petro Cnd - 4x3 (13) Shell - 5x2 (11) Esso - 4x3 (12) Exxon - 5x3 (15) Lukoil - 4x2 (16) Mobil - 3x3 (9) Valero - 4x4 (10) Cheapo - 3x1 (3) All of them are growable commercials (CS§), with a moderate number of jobs, as each of them also has a little store/foodmart on the grounds. The lots are meant for corners, so keep that in mind while zoning. They grow early in the game, so make those you want to keep historical right away. At least one of the sides is usually kept pretty open, so you can combine the station with other industrial lots to make larger truckstops or rest areas by the highway or similar. I included some pictures of possible combinations in the readme. TIP: If you want to force-grow the stations at a later point, temporarily block Maxis' COM-buildings, zone for proper size (with CTRL), then run the game for a while. After stations have developed at your chosen spots, make them historical, remove the blocker and continue as usual.
