View Album My initial situation (hard, medium map, valleys) until year 6 - I laid out a basic village plus blueprinting the Trade Posts and planned expansion across the river... with the fewest people possible (17 adults and 7 kids), meaning I did not have too many resources yet... I spare you the pains of the growing years with starvation and disease, cheating traders, fires and other calamities... so we jump right into year 115, where things have already settled a bit... The original village has filled...

Adamson

View Album Today we visit Adamson, a small community at Mt. Adam's eastern flank... It boasts a highly modern W2E facility, along with some old-fashioned, on-the-way-out logging... Modern times have arrived with the new university complex... New shopping center started a building boom... The brewers are here to stay though... Adamson features some ambitious bridges and tunnels for roads and railway... The Kingston Market draws many visitors from the region... All in all a rather peaceful town, even at...

Mountain Hikes - Part 2

View Album Well, here is just a very small community from Mt. Adam... Actually more of a tourist location :-) * A full update with a somewhat larger town will come soon - I just finished putting in the new railway system from the latest NAM... and needed some getting used to it LOL... See you soon ;-)

Just Another Waterfront

View Album Well, you might have gotten the feeling that the above photo-tour is somewhat... incomplete. And you are right - that city never survived... You see, it was built on the of side this guy here - Then one day I SimGod decided to unleash a little bad weather and disaster and have some fun... yeah well, that lasted until I blacked out and did something... very... VERY... wrong... So here is just a parting shot - the last we'll ever see of this once-well-to-do town...

Satellite City

View Album A suburban beehive... Across the river - the Mountainview Heart Center Right to Left: New Heart Center, Admin Building, Old Heart Center, Emergency HeliPad, Labs, Nurse's Home... the large ranch-style house is the 'De-Tox Farm' (where rich kids go cold turkey) - Night views -

Goober Town Part III

View Album Still got a little backlog from 2013... But finally got around to wrap up this city... :-) A quick look at a modest CBD... But main focus is on the story of the large produce yard - established in the 40s, it had reached a point where it was just too small for the many products from the region (and the large modern rigs)... an overview - The old North Fruit and Vegetable Yard, where drivers would get into fistfights frequently over who could pull in or out first... it is scheduled to be torn...

Rising High

View Album Here is a city that took me quite a while to grow... But first for something else - some of you have been asking about my regions and why I don't usually show them... Well, as I have explained a number of times, I do play regional, but I am not really meticulous about it. Too often I just get side-tracked, usually during the development of custom content. So I start a "sideshow" in one of my regions, but suddenly it develops a life of its own and doesn't really match up anymore with the tile it...

A Little History

View Album A short excursion to one of the more historic places... The Old Mine museum... The old town, now mostly turned into museums, galleries and different cultural spots... Old station building... Cottages for rent... Fresh water... Small high-wealth marina... Blunder's Point... Not much to see at night - many of the spots are closed... Time to head home... ;-)

Goober Town Part II

View Album Well, I got side-tracked and lost the thread a bit... anyway, here is Part II of Goober Town :-) An overview of the newer burbs and housing projects... The old church with its well kept cemetery... The Eastside housing project... Riverside College... Recreational canal walk... Ouch - not good! A series of locks... Small hamlets like this are all over the place... A look at the old and very small docks and wharves... Hey - there is a mugging going on (bottom center)! An old freight station... New...

View Album This town is caught between old and new... (and ugly) ;-) It has invested in wind power, but still needs the old coal power plant... Some clean industries have settled in the area... Alas, the city had a problem. The defunct mine shaft turned museum draws a moderate number of tourists... But the derelict industrial compound failed to draw high profile investors... a sad sight at day or night. Some entrepreneurs then decided to bring entertainment and nightlife to town - with mixed results, as...

Goober Town :-)

View Album This city is still growing in many parts, while some districts are mostly done. So our extended hike will take a few days... We start in the north-west corner with some remaining farms past the waste facility... Next time(s) we'll visit fancy eastern suburbs, small docking services, the district's huge freight truck station, dense downtown RES and COM, and some small nearby 'hamlets', all busy restaurating... and with some facilities still under construction...

Middleton

View Album A look at the central part of Middleton... mainly its CBD, the sprawling high-school... and a bit of the residential fringe... , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , Off to the countryside again... ;.)

Mountainview Railyard

Well, I'm terribly sorry, but I got hit with sanctions for exceeding my bandwidth (the manner in which this has been done will be a matter for a rant at another place and time)... So here are the images, a bit hapazard because the upload module is not comfortable - but at least the pics are available... I'll fix everything up once I get these issues sorted. Thanks for visiting :-)

View Album Just a little project on the side where I tried to bring a tamed shallow river into my inner city, providing some relaxing river walks and urban canals to my sims... so this is basically more of a 'proof-of-concept', not a true update ;-) (click for full size)
