[SOLVED] SC4 laggy / stuttering on Linux with Bottles
Han Solo posted a topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
tl;dr: If you're having performance issue when running SimCity 4 in a Bottle, try changing the Runner to something other than soda. ------ I've just recently had to install SC4 from scratch on a new Debian Linux PC. My installation method of choice was installing the GoG version of the game, using a Bottles "Bottle" which was created using the "Gaming" preset. After installing the game, I configured the resolution and colour depth using command line arguments, and installed the latest version of dgVoodoo2. Other than that, I also installed NAM and CAM but the game is otherwise stock. When playing the game and using right click and drag to move the camera, the game was intially slow to repond and then, when trying to move the camera for a second time, the game would not respond at all. Subsequent attempts would result in the camera either moving a very small amount or moving the desired amount... or not moving at all. It seamed to vary according to when I attempted to move the camera. It was also more severe at higher zoom levels. Clicking on UI elements was much the same story. Sometimes nothing would happen when clicking on a menu item or the exit button. I tried making various changes to the dgVoodoo2 config. I also tried following @MegaMiku's instructions for gettting dgVoodoo2 working on Linux. I thought I'd found the cause of my issues when I saw that DDraw.dll was not present at all in my WineCFG's Libraries menu (there is a ddrawex entry though). The next thing I tried turned out the be the fix I was looking for... I selected the SimCity 4 Bottle. Then under the Options section, I clicked "Settings" and in the "Components" section, I changed the Runner from Soda-9.0.1 to sys-wine-11.0. The change takes seconds and seams to have resolved my performance issues. So my advice to any fellow Linux and Bottles user is, before trying any other more involved or time consuming fixes, try just changing your Runner first. -
This guide is for Linux users who are trying to get dgVoodoo 2 work on WINE and Proton through Steam. The instructions are intended for Steam users running SimCity 4. Before starting, make sure to download (and install if needed) the following: Working installation of WINE, Winetricks, and Protontricks you can get these through your package manager of choice. A copy of dgVoodoo 2_79_3, this is because newer versions of dgVoodoo 2 do not work on WINE as reported in this thread, you can get this version from here. You now should have everything you'll need for the rest of the guide. Open and extract your dgVoodoo2_79_3 file, in here you'll want to open up these two folders. From MS Look for the x86 folder and copy all four dlls into your SimCity 4 apps folder. Then for the Cpl folder look for the x64 folder and copy and paste dgVoodooCpl.exe to SimCity 4's apps folder. Then lastly copy the dgVoodoo.conf file into the apps folder as well. Now launch Protontricks, and look for SimCity 4 Deluxe: 24780 and select it. Select the default wineprefix then run winecfg. Once in winecfg, select the libraries tab. Then add the following overrides: D3D8.dll, D3D9.dll, DDraw.dll Then click apply and OK. That's it for configuration within wine. Now all that is left to do is set your dgVoodoo 2 settings as usual, if you need more information on how to setup dgVoodoo 2, just refer to this thread. Following all those steps you should now have dgVoodoo 2 working in SimCity 4 on your Linux distro of your choosing. Happy modding and building!

Hello, I've been trying to run the game on Linux for some time now but have been encountering issues. First up, my system specs: Kubuntu 22.04.4 Ryzen 5 5600H RTX3060 Mobile 32Gb of memory The issues: I'm unable to launch the game through steam using proton. I've tried every proton version available through steam's menu. The games window pops up and then immediately crash. I've tried to use parameters suggested by other people on Protondb, mainly PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1and PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1 but to no avail. I've got the game on Gog as well so I've used the non-DRM installer to test if I could have it to work, but neither Play on Linux or Lutris were able to work. I've followed Handyman's guide and I was able to create a wine profile and it works, the game launches which is good. But the performance is abysmal to the point that even an empty city is unusable. I've applied the 4GB patch following memo's how to here and it patches fine. I've also used a script similar to Moose's script here to get the game in windowed mode and it works. Alternatively I've used a W10 VM using VMWare and again, it works but the performance isn't good. (it's a VM so I wasn't expecting anything anyway, this was mostly to test) Ideally, I'd love to keep using it through steam (I like having my profile keep track of things) but I can settle for the DRM free variant if it's the only one that works. If anyone has some info, insight etc, I'd love to hear it.

I just wanted to draw your attention to my Winewrapper (x64) for macOS (10.15.4 and up) with SimCity 4 Deluxe that I made. maybe one or the other finds it quite useful. All you need is the GOG installer of the game. Just click install game in my "Game Config" app, select the exe and the rest is automatic. The wrapper already brings everything else with it. This also includes the 4GB patch (which runs automatically) or Java SDK if you want to install NAM. Basically, this Game Config app is almost the same (except for the mod management) as the SC4 Launcher for Windows. Mods can be installed/placed in ~/Documents/SimCity 4/Plugins. Download PS: By the way, I have a few other wrappers on my website (SimCity 3000 for example).

Hi all! New to the forums, I've been enjoying SimCity 4 on my Mac for a bit but I'm thinking about switching to the Windows version for better compatibility with a few plugins (most notably night lighting on custom lots--also the Simfox Day and Nite mod is giving me a CTD; I think this is a function of Mac incompatibility?). Is the process as simple as I hope, and it's just a matter of copying the contents of my current Plugins and Regions folders to their equivalents under my new installation of the Windows version? Also what's the best way of actually downloading the Windows version on a Mac? Will Steam even allow me to do this?

I have managed to get PimX Installed, the file chooser opens and the program opens but when I try to drag a file from the right side to the left column I get the error. I expect I am probably missing a .dll or service. Any help appreciated. The back trace file is attached below. backtrace.txt Thought I should add some system info: Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS AMD A8-7650k radeon r7 APU AMD Radeon graphics GNOME 3.28.2 Wine 3.0 SimCity4Deluxe(Gog) installed and running rock solid

Recently Valve has released the beta of Steam Play, a Wine fork that allows Steam to run Windows games on Linux. This has sparked and exploded fast in the Linux gaming community, since there is a lack of titles in this platform and because gaming was a main obstacle for the migration of user from Windows to Linux. There is a big table database of the community testing many titles with Steam Play. I have tested this tool with Steam on KDE Neon 5.13 and I installed SimCity 4. It works fine, seems to work even better than using Wine rawly. It installs in the home folder ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/SimCity 4 Deluxe/, and there is no special difference in this. The main problem here is I don't find the user folder (the SimCity 4 folder that is in My Documents), I don't know where it is generated, where could be, or if the plugins and regions should be placed in the game files. With this problem it may gonna complicate to install NAM or other plugins that use installers. The shortcut parameters works normal, just I have to find out the way to specify the user folder. Finally, if other users are using Steam on Linux I invite them to join to the experiment and find out a solution for those small problems mentioned before.

Greetings, fellow SimCivilians and Mac users. I am so glad this community persists. It seems I am late to the draw often when it comes to things like technology. I started playing SimCity 4 Rush Hour on a G4 Mac only in 2009, and a bit later on my MacPro 1,1, which I still stubbornly use now as my only computer. I love Snow Leopard and seriously dislike every Mac OS since then for a variety of reasons, so am determined to use this machine as long as I can. Meanwhile, I recently got nostalgic/excited to reacquire and play SimCity 4 again, which I had eventually let go, and am glad there has been a bit of life breathed back into the game thanks to the updated reissues in the wake of the disaster that was SimCity (2013). SimCity is a fantastic game, despite its many flaws and challenges, and I love how much the world community of fans has done to make it a much better game and keep it going long after the shelf life of most games. You folks here are amazing. Truly amazing. So, my DVD Deluxe copy (the old original Mac release) arrives in the mail on Monday. I only had to pay $7.50 for a virtually new, intact copy I found on eBay, yay. Meanwhile, I have been preparing to get reinvolved, especially since I lost my games related backup volume which had all my accumulated mods and maps and information: I've been busy making many downloads here again and from SC4D to reassemble all those plugins and mods, and see what's new and improved. The I-HT fix is complete and I see we've solved the Prop Pox problem (not that I can utilize it yet). I've been reading up on all the latest info, especially as Macs and my options for how to play the game again are concerned. I have virtually never used Windows in my life, and was only vaguely aware that it was possible to run Windows on a Mac, since way back when my MacPro 1,1 was introduced (but I didn't get mine till, what, five years ago, when it was already "old technology" and cheap.) Reading about the disappointing Aspyr port for the new Steam version which did -not- add the EP1 patch or night light fix, Ive been contemplating, and discussing a bit here elsewhere already, my options for how I want to go about playing this game at this point. So, following are the parameters I have to work with. Please help me figure out what would work best for me, because I keep waffling as I read more information about each option—none seems very easy or ideal. The Steam version is out of the running, because that would require an update in both my hardware and my OS. What I have to work with: • MACPRO 1,1 "quad" core 2.6 GHz, using OS 10.6.11, 11GB of RAM. • A Crucial SSD I am also just now acquiring, my first ever, which I know I will be happy to have, whether or not it will speed up the gameplay at all. It should speed up load time I would think at least. Does that sound likely? I know I am still limited to 3GB SATA speed with this older MacPro instead of 6GB. Oh well. • GRAPHICS: two options: I had been using an NVIDIA GeForce7300 GT video card with my MacPro while I was using this computer for the game my last go around. I eventually upgraded the card to a Radeon HT 5770, which actually slowed down graphic performance for this game rather badly. It got intolerably choppy scrolling across a city. I was really surprised and disappointed to see that, but I was mostly interested in playing CIvilization 4 at that point, which was running nicely enough with the card. That's when I abandoned this game until now. I still have the NVIDIA in slot 2, and I suspect I'll have to use it with the game, if I want to play on this machine again. Would the only way to do this practically be to switch cabling to my monitor from the NVIDIA when I want to play? I could run a second monitor simultaneously too, I suppose, rather than keep swapping every time I want to play, though I wonder how that might affect the game graphics, running two at once. That's my first query, is there anything I should know or am missing regarding the graphics card situation here? Is there a way to get the better performance the Radeon should be providing, or will I need to use that NVIDIA which is more native to the way the game graphics were designed to run, but less powerful? • In the process of researching things related to the game, I just now really learned how Boot Camp works on a Mac and about the existence of WINE, which sounds very cool in function, less so in utilizing. Each of these is tempting, so I can play the patched Windows version. Pluses for Boot Camp include that it is going to run faster and more probably reliably than in WINE. Downside is having to buy Windows (I'm advised to go with XP), and it's selling for $100 on eBay! Wtf? It's ancient. I also really dislike the thought of having to boot up in Windows just to play, because I use my Mac as a continual music server and other things, while I am at home/playing a game. I can't do that practically through an actual Windows environment. So, the downside is the expense to buy an old overpriced OS I have little other use for besides running some of the exe files related to SimCity like the SC4Mapper I've not been able to use before, plus losing my Mac environment/background I am so very fond of. Please be aware, I'm not super tech savvy in this stuff. I am pretty good at researching new information, basic logic, organization (I'm good with my plugins), and following explicit directions. My eyes start to glaze over in a hurry when someone throws a ton of tech jargon at me that a non-coder is not likely to comprehend. I need this kind of stuff coming from the approach that I know nearly nothing that a normal casual computer user would not know. I know next to nothing about anything coding related. Reading about configuring and installing WINE sounds daunting and problematic to me so far. I did (in anticipation) already download the Winebottler app which -appears- to make it easy and does most of the harder work for me. Or does it? I do like the idea of being able to run Windows version SC4 right from within my Mac environment and still be able to run iTunes and have access to my music library, email, internet, etc. On the other hand, WINE sounds potentially very twitchy and challenging to get working properly, and I suspect it could take a long time, a lot of hunting down answers for issue after issue, seeking a lot of advice in stages here, etc. just to understand all the things I have to do to get it successfully running satisfactorily. Or maybe it's not that bad a process. Like I said, I'm no dummy, but my mind is not primarily mathematical—it's intuitive and reasonably logical when someone explains things very concisely, so I understand the what, how, and why of things. So, that's my primary query here: For someone in my situation with my hardware, software, and limited understanding of or patience for coding/nonintuitive kinds of computer tinkering, what route would you advise? WINE? Boot Camp + XP? Work with the Mac version as before? I can live without night lighting and I know the NAM has largely addressed the pathing errors of the Mac version, despite the Mac version never getting the EP1 patch. I forget...was there anything else very critical or annoying that was not fixed for the Mac version that hasn't been fixed otherwise here by the modding community? I will have the Mac version back in hand Monday to get started on seeing how things are performing at this point. Help please, from much more knowledgeable computer/Mac people than me. Thanks so much. I love this place. I'm glad to have a reason to return, but I also feel like I missed out on the glory days of this game, catching only the tail end of it years ago when I first played it.

TLDR; SimCity4 runs perfectly in wine 3.0 on Arch Linux. NAM 36 does not. I have installed the GOG version of SimCity 4 Deluxe on Wine 3.0 (32bit) and it runs perfectly. If you are interested, please leave a post below. If there is some interest, I will post more details. It is a small script to install Wine and Winetricks but, for the initial tests, it will be crippled. I have tested, the functional version, dozens of times on my system and it has worked as expected. My concern is not knowing how my scripts will work on different hardware combinations. Even though I have 4 different installations, they all live on one physical system. My hardware is all pretty new, so if it is run on a slower setup will there be timing issues that I don't see. It would be irresponsible, I think, to release it without some basic testing on other systems.

guide How to use Wine with SC4D, NAM, Modding Tools
Handyman posted a topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
How to use Wine with SimCity4Deluxe, NAM, Modding Tools **ATTENTION: Recently began having problems with Ubuntu Gnome 16.04 and SimCity4. After an update, the game would only run in software mode. I have done a lot of digging to try to find the exact cause, but so far no luck. I have gone back to Ubuntu Gnome 14.04 until this gets fixed. About ten years ago I made Ubuntu my only OS, after dual booting with XP for about a year. I had only one regret, I could not get SC4D to run in Wine. I tried a few times over the next few years but still had no luck. Then a couple of years ago I decided to dig in and get it running. My first success came with the help of PlayOnLinux, finally! I used this setup until, recently, I decided to try working directly with Wine without the extra layer of PlayOnLinux. So I dug a little more and eventually I gathered most of the info I was looking for on the interweb. Much of this was, things I didn't know I needed to know, until I knew them. Now, I had a lot of info, but some bits seemed to contradict other bits, so I began to develop a repeatable, controllable, procedure that would allow me to test a defined set up, document it, rinse and repeat. The process I settled on, exposed the unreliable information, but gave rise to more questions. I dug around, got some more bits, and started again. This time it all came together. Eventually, I settled on a kind of combination set-up method using wine / winetricks / wine tools. I'm more of a nuts and bolts kinda guy,so this satisfies me. There are other ways to achieve the same results, and I may tackle them some time, but for now, I am concentrating on using this method to install SimCity4Deluxe and some of the modding tools. As a part of the testing process I developed sets of instructions, so I could repeat a particular set-up, exactly the same, multiple times. After using them for awhile, I decided they were solid and they might be helpful to other people. So I edited them into a more readable format and added some, (I hope), helpful information. Currently, I have finished these; ∘Wine How To - Install Current Stable Wine ∘ Wine How To - Install SimCity4Deluxe (plus updates) ∘ Wine How To - Install NAM ∘ Wine How To - Install GoFSH ∘ Wine How To - Install Gmax Extended ∘ Wine How To - Install ILive Reader 1.4 ∘ Wine How To - Install SC4-PIM X ***(Currently this will install and load but does not run as it should.) Credits: Most of the information I gathered was from WineHQ, Winetricks, Ubuntu forums, SC4Devotion forums, Simtropolis forums, many sage postings by 'A Nonny Moose' (found these everywhere), along with bits from numerous Linux editorials.- 32 Replies

Hi there, Loooong time lurker (going back to when CXL was the hot new thing on the block), first time poster here. Recently I've gotten back into SC4...again...but haven't been able to play it the way I'd like to due to not being able to use my physical CD copy on my beefy Linux desktop. It's not fun trying to zone on a touchpad, especially when the laptop is running 8.1. (Blech. Otherwise I'm as emancipated as A Nonny Moose in that regard - speaking of which, I do hope he is alright...) Today I got an email from Steam announcing that SC4 had gone on one of its seasonal sales, and that got my interest going again in getting it working on my lovely Kubuntu setup. I apologize in advance, as I'm sure this subject has been covered time and time again, but I haven't for the life of me been able to find enough reasonably current information to tell me how well it would work, and how, exactly, to make it work. Wine's app database was of little help, since the last result gave it a Platinum rating...without elaborating on any special steps that might be needed. And that's not even getting into all the sorcery needed to make it work on modern Windows... So, the TL;DR gist is: what's the best way to get a clean, digital copy of SC4 working on Linux with minimal hair-pulling or frustration perusing hundreds of forum topics for just the right solution? In case they're needed, here are a few basic specs: Kubuntu 14.04 LTS, kernel 4.4 Core i7 CPU, NVIDIA GTX 745 GPU current Wine 1.9 (though I can use 1.8 if it makes a difference) 24 GB RAM Thank you very much in advance! And apologies again for asking a question that I'm sure has been asked many times before...

If someone is playing SC4 over wineskin ... Some issues (CTD, CJK input and LotEditor)
alicenychto posted a topic in SC4 Mac Users
Hi, recently I wrapped a Simcity 4 (an old Deluxe Edition CD) on my Mac with wineskin. It was inspired by the Reddit discussion and I managed to work out with lightning plugin buildings and BAT. I have been also running LE, iLives and gmax with wineskin. To switch its language I copied a backup of my old locale file (cause I am no longer using windows machine) and modified the registry file with regedit. Though, even if the game can load the maps with non-english filename, the save file will get destroyed once it's being saved and a blank map will replace it. Getting a bit confusing ... I have been working with a bundle of plugins (Plugins folder of 1.6GB including NAM's newest release ver 34), and I haven't encountered big issues... Another small issue could be that sometimes the game will CTD frequently (though I tried to eliminate it, such as limit the CPU core to 1), in some maps. Normally these maps may have some extreme terrains, tunnels, etc. But I noticed another case in a smooth terrain, thinking it might be because I used some plugins (maybe SOMY's HD residences?). However the maps with NAM I'm thinking if it might be the CPU usage overheat that caused CTD ... but is there a way to make the game support multiple core and larger RAM occupation? For the LotEditor, in Windows usually Ctrl + Up/Down is used to move an object over Z direction. But the Mac OS X has already reserved these keys to the Mission Control. I don't know how to deal with it... Sorry for my poor english ... Thank you in advance... -
I'm unable to run SC4 in hardware mode. When I launch SC4, I receive these error messages: Hardware Error Could not initialize DirectDraw. SimCity4 Could not initialize the hardware driver. Using the software driver instead. I'm using Ubuntu 15.10 together with Wine 1.9.1. Installing DirectX 9, 10 and 11 libraries, didn't fix the problem.

Install Simcity 4 through steam on Ubuntu 14.04.3.
FooFox posted a topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
Wow!! I read on this forum years ago when I last played this game. Great to see this game still gets so much attention these days. Anyway, I'm one of the unlucky ones who bought this version of Simcity 4 through steam. So I realized, no problem! Simcity is supported, and I know steam is also supported on Linux, and since Simcity 4 is supported through steam, everything should just work out. It doesn't. I got Wine and steam installed and logged into my Steam account. When I "install Steam" i get a message box saying "Simcity 4 Deluxe is not available on your current platform." I suppose steam is confusing itself, or I don't know how to command it installing something into Wine, and that creates this particular error message. I cant find answers to this question online, the only guide that explains a installation procedure in linux is from a cd/dvd box. I hope that doesn't mean I can't install the game. So I hope it can be done, one way or another. -
What about a tri...(hips) through Wine Country...(hips!) ?
tariely posted a City Journal entry in P.R. Crastina's Travels (SC4)
P. R. Crastina barely remembers that trip. Too many tasting fests. But she got the pictures, so she must have been there. -
Greetings fellow SC4 Deluxe Players, I've been playing this "game" now for something like 12 years and while I get considerable enjoyment from it, there are some things that I haven't done recently that I am now trying out, maybe for the first time. First of all, I play on Ubuntu (14.04 LTS at the moment) under control of the Windows Executive layer (wine-1.7.21) using the X-org default driver for my AMD RS780 chip set which is no longer supported by AMD [ATI 3000] on this version of the Linux Kernel. So I have a few vicissitudes to deal with. While the game runs well in hardware rendering mode, certain things, like FLUPs, work better in software rendering mode. So, while I have scripts that give me either, I use the software script most of the time. This locks me out of HD textures. You know something? I don't care. It is just an ego trip for some. Anyway, today I tried something I don't remember ever doing in the past. I had some infill to do in one of my large tiles and I was thinking that there is always top of the chart CS$ demand, so I created a CBD of 4 x 4 low density commercial lots. This is on the other side of an elevated highway connected to a small industrial area. The interesting thing is that I got all the same buildings on about a dozen lots and no others were built. I've concluded that the BATting fraternity have not created any 4 x 4 CS$ lots, or at least none that I have. Maybe they've missed a bet in not doing so, or I've just not picked up the right ones. I tend to avoid lots that have many dependencies I don't already have. Comments?

Welcome to the Bay Area, a gorgeous area of mountains, bays, coves, and islands. Nearly every city has a waterfront. The area is blessed with a wide array of natural beauty and resources. The beginning of this area is in Frankfurtsville, a modern metropolis of over 80,000 population. Even so, the point where the coast line turns a sharp 90 degree lies the most charming part of town, the Old Bavarian Quarter. Its water views are unprecedented in two directions. It is a wonderful place for a jog, walk, or get ice cream from the many quaint shops in the "old town" and sitting by the bay for a nice afternoon. Oh, don't forget the good wine, as the Bay Area is known for its Mediterranean climate and fabulous wine. A quick teaser. The Bay Area is not just a wine country of course. It is a high-tech center. It has a thriving casino city to be featured here shortly. Here is sunrise and the light on the old Bavarian quarter. An Inn here costs around $300 a night. But it's worth it. Cruise ships dock at the waterfront ferry terminal. Look, the ship is shiny in the morning glow. It's hard to open your eyes. Welcome to another day. Welcome to the Bay Area.

Fedora Core 13: SC4 install - "please insert disk 2"
simstompoli posted a topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
Hi everyone. Seeing the SC4 debacle made me feel nostalgic, so I downloaded disk 1 and 2 of SC4 to get a city up and going. Overview: Any way disk 1 is mounted, the autorun loads up perfectly and installs. The trouble appears when a pesky little message pops up and says "Please insert disk 2". After mounting the second image every way under the sun, the installer just cant see it. This should install just fine, even though my version of linux is many years old and not supported any longer. The internet is littered with this very issue. The installer trips over finding disk 2, and falls flat on it's face. There seems to be no "autorun" file on disk 2, this is a shame. Steps taken Sofar 1) Mount the iso of disk 1, install, this works great. 2) Mount the iso disk 2 in linux, cant see it. Install all known 3rd party "disk mounting" linux software just for kicks, cant see it. Install all know Windows disk mouting simulator on linux with wine, still cant see disk 2. Try to manually launch any file in disk 2, installer cant see it. All previous Windows games I have tried, installed just fine. Has anyone found a solution to this? It is a pretty prominant and widely seen error. Disk 2 is sitting right in front of it's face, as plain as the noon day. However, the installer is as blind as a bat and just cant locate disk #2 to save it's life. The only thing left to try is actually burning off the disk to a CD, but I think this is an unecessary step that wastes plastic and pollutes the earth.- 2 Replies

SimCity 4 and Rush Hour Custom Resolutions in Wineskin
heat33330 posted a topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
I hope I posted this in the right place... I'm running SimCity 4 and Rush Hour in Wineskin but I can't get a custom resolution for it. I set up the 'Virtual Desktop' to display in full screen in 1920x1080 but it just displays in the highest resolution in the game in the top left-hand corner. Any help? -
Welcome to the Linux Corner of Simropolis. I started this topic here in General Off-Topic because is necessary a single topic for all the Linux related issues and topics. This is because all the linux related topics are scattered around this forums and are too short; and this need some more order. So here is the new topic, hope so this will not be forgett so easily as the others. Starting with this news from The Linux Mint Blog, with the header Linux Mint 13 “Maya” RC released! LM13RC is featuring the desktops MATE and Cinnamon, seems to be that the team of LM had discarded Gnome-Shell after all the instability of this desktop reported in the Linux Mint forums. Hope so this new version will come more better and fixed than the actual one, LM12. ----The rest of threads in ST about Linux and related topics---- The objective of this list is to link the another threads about this topic and don't left them isolated, if some is needed from them. If I forget one or there are more in the another forums, just link it in a post and the list will grow.

After a ridiculously long wait, I can finally present my first BAT, Shottesbrooke WInery. The BAT & LOT work on this was finished earlier this year (after months of work, well documented on my main thread at SC4D). But it has taken until now to get all the modding finished (thanks to my main partner in crime, Dobs!) Shottesbrooke Winery is a real world, family owned business (my family), in the Mclaren Vale wine region of South Australia. (http://www.shottesbrooke.com.au/) The first Shottesbrooke vineyards were planted in 1981 and the winery was built in 1994. Shottesbrooke produces a range of reds & whites and will be sure to please the discerning sim wine connoisseur. This winery is a farming reward lot that will become available when certain requirements are met. Namely you need to grow 4 vineyards (by zoning for agriculture), as well as having 10 parks and 150 R$$ residents. Unlike maxis farms, the vineyards won’t leave your city’s water pollution charts looking like some sort of Chernobyl size disaster has taken place. Also the winery itself does require water. Bottoms up! Stats Building Category: Reward Lot size: 5 x 5 tiles Lot Wealth: Medium Wealth Jobs: IM 66 Plop cost: 142,752 Bulldoze cost: 717 Monthly cost: nil Max. Hate wasting money on overpriced drinks at your local bar or watering hole? Do you enjoy a nice cabernet with your Saturday evening meals? Or maybe you and your frat buddies need to make a last minute trip to stock up for this weekend's rush party? If so, then this pack is for you; presenting ten different liquor stores and junior markets over a series of 25 different lots, carrying everything from cheap bear to expensive champaigne. Included in this upload are the following establishments... Ladd Liquor Ken's Corner Kegs Red's Liquor Mart Hal's House of Liquor Bottom's Up Liquor Pink Elephant Liquor Bernie's 24 Hour Liquor Vinnie's Vino The Booze Barn Cap & Cork Fine Wine and Spirits The majority are CS$ stages 1 through 3, while the last three are CS$$ stage 1. Jobs range from 11 to 30, and lot sizes are mostly 1x1 and 1x2, with some 1x3 and 2x1 thrown in for good measure. Stats have been compiled in accordance with prior uploads, and all have nightlights as well. And there's not a single dependency in the bunch... So whether your tastes are as exotic as pricey French wines with unpronouncable names or as simple as a bottle of Thunderbird in a brown paper bag, there's something here for you. Just be sure to give your buddy the car keys after that second or third drink - that is, if he isn't more blitzed than you are. Enjoy!- 35 Comments
