Arts Centre Melbourne, Australia The Arts Centre Melbourne is a performing arts centre consisting of a complex of theatres and concert halls in the Melbourne Arts Precinct, located in the central Melbourne suburb of Southbank. It was designed by architect Sir Roy Grounds. The Spire The new spire was completed in 1996, and reaches 162 metres. The spire is illuminated with some 6,600 metres (21,653 feet) of optic fibre tubing, 150 metres (492 feet) of neon tubing on the mast and 14,000 incandescent lamps on the spire's skirt. Hamer Hall Hamer Hall is a 2,661 seat concert hall – the largest venue in the Arts Centre complex, used for orchestra and contemporary music performances. It was opened in 1982 and was later renamed Hamer Hall in honour of Sir Rupert Hamer (the 39th Premier of Victoria) shortly after his death in 2004 Source: Wikipedia This is my 11th BAT. The Arts Centre Spire & Hamer Hall occupies a tile space of 16x6. It is an Opera House, and costs §68,000 to build with a monthly cost §330. Opera Houses provide an educational boost to older Sims. Also included in the download are: 1) Separate Hamer Hall filler-lot. Hamer Hall is also an opera house, but has no associated costs, all costs are attached to the main lot. This is optional, place drectly under the Hamer Hall prop. If you don't want it, just delete the folder "Hamer Hall". 2) A small power generator. For some reason the BAT doesn't light easily with the standard city electrical grid. To get it to light up it may need its own generator, placed directly next to the Spire/Hamer Hall lot (hide it under the prop). Its small so will not be noticeable in-game. It outputs 6000 power but does not cost anything extra. If you find you don't need it, just delete the folder: "Power Generator". 3) Separate Optional Download: City Road Underpass (tunnel entrance). Only included for anyone that wants to build a road tunnel under the Arts Cente Complex, as in real life. In-game, there are no costs and its not lit. The Arts Centre Melbourne comes in four colours (Blue, Red, Green & Purple), all four colours are available in Darknite and Maxis night versions. Important: only download and install one choice of colour. Once I work out how, I plan to release a multi-colour changing version as well. There are no Prop dependencies, although the Dark Nite version requires SimFox_Day_n_Nite_Modd. Instructions: Download ONLY one choice of colour in the xx_DN zip file for Darknite version, or xx_MN for Maxis night versions (not both) Please visit my Melbourne BAT thread to see my upcoming projects.

  8. Hobart Tasmania - Boreal

    Version 1.0.0

Welcome to Hobart, a city of about 200k (in real life) on Tasmania Island, Australia. The River Derwent cuts through the center of the map leaving plenty of building space on either side and lots of opportunities for bridges and tunnels. This map should prove fairly easy to build on, with flat, fertile expanses leading to riverside beach heads, some gentle and some not-so-gentle slopes leading into the mountains rich with ore. Add to that a few spots for oil production and 145,000 trees for forestry, and you'll have industry opportunities galore. Of course, all transport types are connected. I experimented with terrain textures again, and if you like the textures and colors in the map above, here's what you'll need: Terrain Texture Replacer mod: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=416966387&searchtext=terrain+texture Texture Set: http://imgur.com/a/krTtf Photoreal LUT: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=408932281 Cheers!

Let's play on this map of Australia! Not as big as the real country, but still a fun replica for Cities Skylines. There is fertile land, oil and some ore placed around the map. I think it's fun to try making smaller cities around the map, but choose the way you want to play it. To be able to play the whole map, you need to have the All Slots unlocked mod . Hope everyone likes the map! Cheers Jonas Installation Place the .crp file in AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines\Maps

  12. Introduction I've had many requests to make Q1, so I've decided to take up the challenge. The reason for a new thread is, well 2 reasons... 1) My other BAT thread is for Melbourne BATs, Q1 is located in Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast in Queensland 2) Mainly I want to try something suggested by SkyscraperTowerBuilding: Normally BAT threads are where BATers make stuff, then post the results. What I want to do in this BAT thread is show you the behind-the-scenes-making-of Q1. But I don't just want to show case my amateurish, clumsy, inefficient modelling techniques, I'd like very much if other BATers can follow along and where they have suggestions on how to do something better, or differently, it would be great if you could chip in, I think it could be a great opportunity to learn off each other and do something a bit more interactive and informative. On with it... I always start my BATs with a Prototype. A prototype is just a very basic version of the model. What this allows me to do is plan out what the BAT will look like in-game, mainly with respect to lot sizes. The Q1 prototype is a little bit more advanced than I would normally make, here's what we're making: i hope you enjoy following along...

  21. Greetings! I'm Cattail, currently studying abroad, and I play Simcity 2013 from Japan. Anyone else out there who plays during/ around my UTC+9.00 time zone? For example: Australia, Korea, Phillipines, SEA, Taiwan? I'm pretty bummed out by playing alone these days. :/ So I'd be happy if I get to join an active region where people play together, build great works and not just dwell in their little plot of lands and totally ignore the chat. Building and managing a great works alone is pretty meaningless by the way. :/ I play almost daily from around 8pm to about 12am UTC +9.00. So if anyone is interested in inviting me to their party, or would like to play on a region together, let me know. Look me up on Origin: Cattail113. PS: all my other friends are on Steam, and they don't play simcity. Sad.

The Melbourne Star Observation Wheel (previously Southern Star) is a giant Ferris wheel in the Docklands, Melbourne. It is 120m tall and has seven spokes, reflecting the seven-pointed star of the Australian flag. It opened two years behind schedule in December 2008, but closed 40 days later due to structural defects, and was subsequently dismantled for major repairs. The wheel itself was scrapped and replaced, but the original support structure and passenger cabins were retained. It did not reopen until 23 December 2013. One complete rotation takes 30 minutes and provides uninterrupted 360-degree views of up to 40 kilometres, encompassing the Docklands precinct, Melbourne’s CBD, Port Phillip Bay and as far as Mount Macedon and the Dandenong Ranges. (source: Wikipedia) This is my 20th BAT. Melbourne Star Observation Wheel is an overhanging prop Landmark, occupying approximately 7x9 lot space. Download either the Darknight or Maxis night versions (xx_DN or xx_MN respectively) not both. If you're unsure, download the Maxis Night version. There are no Prop dependencies, although the Dark Nite version requires SimFox_Day_n_Nite_Modd. Known conflict: Some users have reported a conflict with Dirty Industry Freight Station uploaded to the STEX in 2004. If you have this BAT installed you will get a visual glitch on the Melbourne Star Observation Wheel at a specific zoom and rotation. You will need to decide which BAT you will keep, or live with the glitch if it doesn't bother you too much Please visit my Melbourne BAT thread to see my upcoming projects.
