Hey guys, I'm with a little problem here I've been using DAMN Manager for years with no problems, but I had to change my PC last year and had to reinstall all my plugins and apps on my new computer. This time, DAMN Manager for some reason don't obbey the columns configuration I set them on the app settings menu. As you can see in the pics below, it only appears in this list format, even though I select the options to the menu show up in 3 columns format. I tried all, to edit there, in the .ini file, click in reindex, reinstall and etc but it just doesnt change, it stay that way. of course its not something that make it unplayable, but this way takes longer to get into the LOTs that are located in the bottom of the menu. Also another quick question - is it possible to store MMPs in the DAMN Manager? I tried with the MMP Project but couldnt get it to work, I click them and nothing happens, even though in the description of the plugin you can see he uses DAMN Manager with these MMPs there. Thanks in advance

So, I'm bringing this up, for a few reasons actually, but, I'm seriously wondering if maybe work on something like this should be done? First, I've already had an idea for something like this for a while, and been wanting to implement it, but, it's taken a bit of time trying to get many of the ideas together for it, and the key aspects, but, I've got quite a few notes, and if people are actually interested in this, I can open a new thread in the SC4 - Custom Content board. To add on to this, I've been coming across some rather interesting mods that I think would be great to have unified in the game. There's the big ones: CAM, NAM, SPAM, IRM, AMPS, and even DAMN. But, there's also some smaller ones, such as Paeng's Industrial Facelift mod, and some wonderful Maxis relots and updated lots (such as the Maxis Seasonal Lots). Of course, it's not just these either. Like, we've now got a couple OpenSC4 projects going, along with various other projects, such as the CAM Revival Project, which are great in my opinion. But, I'm thinking that we need to work on unifying everything. I know it's a lot to ask for, but, we're certainly seeing more players make requests of such things as having SPAM and CAM actually work together (among many other smaller requests). I myself am working on my own little project, which if I can get it done the way I'd like, would simply be a stepping stone to the bigger project that I've got in mind. And this leaves us with a couple of questions: Would it be a good idea to start this unification project? and (arguably the more important one) Would people be willing to shift their efforts on the mods they're currently on to help unify everything? Keep in mind a few things here: As mentioned before, I've got ideas for what can be done, and even how to solve some of the problems that'll likely plague this project NAM would very likely be the one exception to this unification project due to it's ongoing work, and of course due to how solid it is. I can't even begin to fathom the kind of work needed to get the NAM to conform to this project (it might be the other way to some extent) All work on current and active mods would not be dropped/ignored, but, shifted to work towards unifying everything. And I'm bringing this up, because I'm beginning to feel as though I don't really have much time to suggest this before we get past a point of major resistance, where most of the work towards these other mods will have been done, and that editing/adjusting/updating them would be more of a hassle, than if we caught it early on and began to guide everything and move it towards a common goal. And, I know it would be huge and ambitious, but I believe we can actually do it, because we've got so many people interested in the game currently, along with people joining mod teams and reviving older mods. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. And, if we really do have the interest in doing this, I can set up a new thread going over the project idea, and going into detail about everything.

Is there anyone that has a functioning and useable DAMN setup on Mac that could perhaps help me figure out what I'm missing (if anything)? I can install via SSPTools, add lots to menus, generate an index, and get the "link" and then separate menu window in the game, however nothing shows up in the DAMN window. I have it installing DAMN inside the app package, not just inside the SimCity 4 folder inside Steam's directory, which seems to be correct (I wasn't getting the separate menu window to show up when I had it installed in the folder instead of the app package). Am I missing something, is it just not possible to get it working on Mac, or do I have to go through the hassle of virtualizing the Windows version of a DAMN manager to get it to work properly?

Hello, Happy New year everyone! With the Damn managers I can't set the maxitems for ploppable lots or subfolders higher then 50. I tried to delete the settings.ini in the plugin folder to reset the program. After I restart the program a new settings.ini will be made, I try to reset the max items but ingame nothing changed. I took a test to change the resolution of the news menu there is no change ingame either, gues the settings are stuck or something?? Can anyone give me a hint? Greetings Ernest

DAMN manager, icon not displayed in game menu
hugues aroux posted a topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
Hello, as you can see in the picture, some icons in the DAMN menu (in the game) disappear! Of course, the icons exist (PNG in .sc4lot) and are visible everywhere else: in the DAMN manager, or in the game menus in "normal" mode (without DAMN) ... The Exemplars of these Lots seem quite correct (in my opinion ;-)). I also looked at the Exemplar recreated by DAMN, and don't see what is going wrong! Is this a DAMN bug? Have any of you encountered this problem and know a way to fix it? -
Looking for help with Daeleys Advanced Menu Navigator (DAMN)
ThisIsMyName posted a topic in SC4 - Custom Content
Hello. I haven't played SC4 in several years, and downloaded it today. I copied over all the mods I had from my original saved plugins folder to the new folder, and everything seems okay except that DAMN doesn't appear to be working. I've tried searching the STEX for it to see if I missed something and can't find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated -
Hello guys. I encountered some problems running the damn manager on my laptop. The first is that DAMN manager is uncapable to load the previvew image for every single lot. I've noticed that in the comments of DAMN manager release someone has been through the same(he/she used win7). The second is that when I click the 'Add' button the DAMN manager turns into a zombie process. Sadly that Yild has terminated developing this tool since 2015, I wonder if anyone can help me with this issue or recommend alternative tools, I'd be very grateful. (OS: win10, and my SC4 is downloaded from Steam.)

I've been trying to get DAMN to work on and off for a few months, after reading the instructions and ect many times over I still can't get it to function. I install it, and the DAMN directory is in the program plugins directory (as opposed to the my documents directory) which is correct? I tried running the indexer after installing it, and adding a few damn menus under the DAMN/ROOT folder(just the RTMT damn menus as a test) along with the default plugins that come with it. The main DAMN menu shows up in the game under the news window, but is always completely empty. It just has the navigation buttons and the 'open additional menus' button, but other than that it's completely empty of any actual plugins including the default ones that come with it, nothing is listed at all. Am I doing something incorrectly? Thanks.

I recently downloaded and installed the DAMN and I was wondering if there was a way to keep the lots that I have organized into the DAMN from showing up in the SC4 Menu?

Using DAMN Manager with Steam version of SimCity 4?
Pixelrage posted a topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I've spent the past two weeks attempting to get DAMN Manager to work with the Steam version of SimCity 4 and I just give up. It doesn't work for me, and I simply don't know why, or what to do. I'm guessing this has something to do with permissions. I saw this in the readme file: This is exactly my issue. Open the News Ticker in-game and nothing appears. The thing is, the Steam version doesn't have a shortcut with an "Apps" path. The Steam shortcut just says "steam://rungameid/24780". I've tried everything. Uninstall, reinstall. I've tried installing it in the Urgent Advice box, same issue (blank screen). I've tried running it + a copy of all plugins in the default plugins area (Documents/SimCity 4/plugins) and in the Steam plugins area (Program Files x86/Steam/SteamApps/common/SimCity4 Deluxe/Plugins). Same issue. I realize that DAMN Manager was created years ago and is basically abandonware at this point. I'd be eternally grateful if someone could help. I'm frustrated and I have so many mods that the game is unplayable without something like DAMN Manager, yet I just cannot get it to work no matter what I do. -
Hey folks, Not sure were this should go so I apologize if it is posted in the wrong thread. I use the damn, it's working ok I guess except that I have quite a few lots that when I attempt to plop them they cause a CTD. The lots aren't really anything to intense pretty ordinary. They are fine if I remove them from the Damn and plop them from the regular SC4 menu. Just the Damn is a problem. So far I have about 30 lots that cause the CTD's. I was wondering if anyone has had the same problem and may know a solution? I've looked at the lots in question in ILive Reader but not sure as what I'm looking for if it's the way they were modded. TIA Robdragon

After a lengthy effort on creating DAMN menus on basically all of my ploppable lots, I tried to run the game and found several problems: some damn'ed lots cause a CTD when plopping them, regardless of doing it from the DAMN menu or the lotplop or buildingplop cheats. The same lots, if they were already plopped on the saved city, aren't functional at all, instead appearing completely empty and lacking all stats. It is possible to demolish them, though. As a derivate, functional lots affected by this stop working, so --for example-- my city ended completely littered when trying to use cheetah mode a couple of minutes. I used the DAMN manager (because for some reason I wasn't able to make the SSP tool to work, maybe some security block on java?), and some weird things happened with it too: some lots lacked a correctly formatted preview image and caused a CTD on the manager some others had corrupted images that hung the manager several times, when saving, directories moved one level up, getting their folder names mixed with the upper level. in an ocassion, for no apparent reason, an entire directory simply vanished while working on another one. Is this some kind of already known behaviour or bug? Is there a known cause and fix? I really don't want to fall back on scrolling eternal menus, but at least they work consistently...

Hey all, Hope I have this question in the right place if not let me know. I'm trying to locate in put into Damn some of the SC4 lots like the ones in the rail menu and the Nam stuff. Also Damn was working fine until today it keeps greying out. I hit the menu button in the news ticker but that just gets Damn to work for about 3-4 seconds then greys out again. Tried restarting game no help there. Also trying to insert the SPAM stuff in Damn also and can't find it. If I go into File Explorer it's there but in Damn it's not. So if anyone can steer me in the right direction would be appreciated.

Version 1.2

SP DAMN Introduction This is a collection of alternative menus using Daeley's Advanced Menu Navigator (DAMN) for my Superparking Modular Parking Lot series. Version 1.2 includes support for the Base Set, Diagonal Expansion Set, Extension Set & Addon Pack 1. Future updates will roll out support for newer expansions when possible. Package Overview Update 1.2: The base and diagonal set individual menus have been depreciated in favor of the combined menu. For users that want the individual menus still, you may download them by viewing the previous versions below. There is one package included - this contains menus for every single set released up until this point. Inside you will find two folders, Superparking and zzzzzz_DAMN_Hidden. Superparking contains all the menus, while the hidden folder hides the existing menu icons in the parks/misc trans menu. Install Instructions Drop the Superparking folder inside your DAMN/Root within the SimCity 4 install directory Plugins folder (not documents). For CD/DVD users, the default is - C:/Program Files (x86)/Maxis/SimCity 4/Plugins/DAMN/Root For Steam users, the default is - C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/SteamApps/common/SimCity 4 Deluxe/Plugins/DAMN/Root Drop the zzzzzz_DAMN_Hidden folder into your standard My Documents/SimCity 4/Plugins folder. If you still want access to the original menu icons, feel free to delete this folder entirely. Dependencies You will need DAMN for these menus to show up/work. Bugs There are a couple of missing icons for a couple of the lots, though this doesn't affect the actual lots at all. Thanks to Daeley for creating this ingenious menu system, and yild for creating DAMN Manager.- 8 Comments

As part of the work towards the new RTMT 4.0 we want to find out about DAMN usage and what does it work on and more importantly what doesn't it work on? We appreciate any comments you want to make on this, and also if anyone has any thoughts regarding the use of MML in the RTMT we are happy to get them as well. -catty RTMT Team

I'm still having problems with the DAMN, hoping someone might know an answer. Whenever I plop a hidden lot I get a CTD. This happens only for hidden lots, not for 'only' DAMNed ones without hiding. Tried reinstalling, using a testbed with only a handful of stuff and always the same. Someone's got an idea what the problem could be?

Hi guys, I´m still idealising my SC4 and think the Damn Mangager is a great invention in it's gameplay. BUT I have a little annoying problem. When I open the manager as usuall, I can switch through different sub menues like butter. while I´m in a menu and build one of them lots - the "Damn Manager Menu" turns from black typo to a grey color and I cant choose another one for eg a different tree or whatever. I always have to press "Open Damn Menu" in the news ticker to be able to choose/build another one, which results in a lot of scrolling. Hope anyone can help me. Much obliged

DAMN-NAM DAMN is short for Daeley's Advanced Menu Navigator This is a collection of menu's created from the NAM 31.2 installation. This is version 1.0 and includes all NAM 31.2 E-Series controller items with the exception of the following Project Symphony, Canals, Maxis Highways and Hole Diggers (These can be added later if there is a strong demand for them). DAMN-NAM includes menus for the following categories, subcategories and all associated pieces: Avenues El-Rail FLUPs (Flexible Underpasses) GLR (Ground Light Rail) HSR (High Speed Rail) Monorail NWM (Network Widening Mod) One Way Roads Pedestrian Mall Rail RHW (Real Highway) Road Street TuLEPs (Turning Lane Extension Pieces) The only dependency is Daeley's Advanced Menu Navigator or DAMN. There are special instructions for installation for full compatibility with these menu's in the readme.txt file included. **Please note that some of the menu entry's are not functional and will have a placeholder image. To use entries that have placeholder images use another nearby entry and then tab to it from there. This will most likely change in the future when a design change can be made in the NAM that will allow these menu's to be made compatible. **Also if upgrading from an older version please replace your damncontrol.dat with the new file in the zip since it allows the root menu's to function. If you don't do this the root menu's appear but are not clickable. Upgrade instructions are now included in the readme.txt file. Enjoy! -

Hello! I want to introduce my first creation for the fans of SimCity 4. DAMN Manager DAMN Manager is an alternative to the commonly used (I hope ) program SSPTool and DAMN Plugin by Stefan Wertich. It is a tool for creating files for Dealey's "Daeleys Advanced Menu Navigator" plugin aka DAMN. The program to use is very similar to its original, has some new features: adding the original lots of SimCity, menu items can be created automatically using custom templates and a few minor additions. I have written this program because i had have some problems with the original SSPTool. To not bore you any longer, I invite you to download the program, all (or almost all) the information can be found in the help files included with the program. Any comments are welcome, especially those critical. If you have any problems with specific plugins, give me it's name and a link where to download the plugin. The program includes the language files in English and Polish (polski). ps. Please forgive me if the English contains errors. If (dare I say when) some will see (help file or user interface), please let me know. pss. Manager has been tested on Windows XP, VISTA (64bit), 7 (64bit) and 8 (64bit - clean install). -
Need help with DAMN - not working properly
wunderlong88 posted a topic in SC4 Modding - Open Discussion
Here's what I've done - I have read the guide at Simpeg.com and installed DAMN - SSP TOOL & SSP TOOL DAMN PLUGIN per the instructions - in a nutshell I did this: - Download and install (unzip) the 'SSPTool_Complete.zip' to your desired folder. - Download 'SSPTool-DAMN Plugin' - no need to unzip, just remember the location where you saved it. - Start SSPTool (double click the 'SSPTool.bat' inside the installed folder). - Select 'Tool | Install Plugin', then select the 'SSPTool-DAMN Plugin' ZIP archive (hopefully you do remember where you saved it to) and press 'OK'. This will install the plugin to the correct folder. - Restart SSPTool so it can complete the install - now a menu called 'Plugins' and the 'DAMN' plugin itself should appear. - Press 'Install DAMN' in the lower left corner of the DAMN plugin to install DAMN; select the options to your needs. - Now you can start the DAMN Manager and manage your DAMN menus. I've done this multiple times and I always get the same result - when I start SC4 I see the blue open menu link in the newsticker but I never see anything except for the 3 icons. I have installed the addon file structure that was available and this does not show up in the menu area. I see the Damn root & support folders in the simcity program plugins but there are no damn folders except zzz_damn remove in the my documents plugins folder. This only appeared after I attempted to use the Manager in the SSP Tool to begin setting up my menu navigation. Neither the original file structure in the manager (which I removed) nor the new structure which I created appear in SC4. Just the blue link for Open Damn Menu - which gives me 3 icons - arrow, home, ?. I have tried installing and uninstalling 4 or 5 times - nothing changes. The damn plugin in SSP does appear to be there - I see the installer, manager, etc. I've used this installer as well as installing manually. ANd yes I've run the index file (or in the case of the SSP Tool install, it does it for me). I notice there are no files listed in the index window - it begins and ends but no folders show up in between as I've seen in online screenshots of the index file. After setting up folders/subfolders and installing files using the manager I do have .dat files in my root menu. I have Windows 7. I'm very frustrated. Any ideas??? -

This plugin allows players to have larger size news windows. Specifically, there are now five larger sizes you can choose from. Considering the current news window to be Small, the new sizes are Medium, Large, Very Large, Extra Large. You pick one, but you can swap it out for either of the others (or just go back to Small) any time the game isn't running. The default Small window is 228 pixels high; the Medium news window, shown above, doubles that to 456 pixels. Of course, as you can tell, it's still possible to overflow this window with news, especially if you open some items. So there is a Large size, which is 700 pixels tall. For people with 1080p monitors, there is the Very Large size, which is 884 pixels tall, and for people with 1200p monitors, there is the Extra Large size, which is 1000 pixels tall, and which is shown in the picture on the right. Finally, for people with 1440p monitors who want to use the maximum amount of vertical space for their news windows, there is now an Extreme size. Although the Extra Large size just about fills the available space on a 1920x1200 screen, it's still not too hard to fill it up, especially if you use it for DAMNmenus. If you have the Urgent Advice Dialogs option turned off, these menus automatically show up in the news window. You can see how you can balance the amount of news you have with the size of your menus. In addition to the five news window sizes, this plugin also contains a special version of the file customMenu.dat. When installed, this file allows DAMN menus always to open in the news window, regardless of whether Urgent Advice Dialogs are turned on. This mod has no dependencies.
