Hi Friends, I have made some progress with the Bald City. Covering fairly large city tile with MMPs is taking even longer than I thought it would, and I keep distracting myself by adding things that I don't need to that serve to make everything much more complicated. Perhaps more on that in a future update. Today I present to you just a few pictures. The beach / dunes and the start of the ambitious MMP river. I hope you enjoy. If you have any tips or ideas, please comment below. 1. The very edge of the tile, beach and dunes. If you don't like this picture you probably shouldn't bother scrolling further to be honest. We have a lot of beach and dunes. 2. I assume the crane is lifting some pipes to an area out of shot. I plopped it thinking it would be a big brown box (there are a few MMP big brown boxes that continue to bamboozle me). Once it wasn't a big brown box, I thought I'd let it continue to crane. It's not hurting anyone after all. To be honest I would like more construction type lots, it's something I have never really downloaded. I think I remember having a giant skyscraper foundation once, but something more mundane, (new homes under construction, road work, laying gas pipes) would probably suit my current style more. 3. A wide shot because I love these houses so much that I wanted to get them in the picture. I'm trying to focus on building nature and 'unbalding' the tile, but these things deserve to be seen more. 4. A second wider zoom showing us the area to the east of the houses shown in 3. 5. a dash of beach, a slosh of dune, a hint of seawall. I've had this set of retaining walls in my plugins folder forever, but it looks particularly at home here I think. 6. A bit more beach and a bit more dunes. 7. Important question: What does one plop on top of a sea wall such as this? I want a nice path my sims can wander down, but everything I tried looked far too manicured (to be fair, most of them were 'parks'). If you have any ideas for something that my sims could stroll along, I would appreciate it. 8. I managed to use the notorious JRP river gate pieces and combine them with the JRP suburban canal pieces and bit of a ugly hack at the LOT editor to get this, the transition between my MMP river and the game water. I'm quite pleased with it, a number of people helped with this picture. I have already shouted them out over in the "Show us what you're working on" thread and it seems rude to summon them here, but they know who they are! 9. Finally the area behind the 'river gate' / sluice affair. I've tried to create a sort of floodplain, but I think to be honest it's all a bit squished in here because the terrain in this region is actually reasonably hilly, and this kind of area makes sense on flat ground. To avoid massive cliffs each side I've had to keep this area reasonably compact. Join us next time as we travel further up the MMP river towards the bald campsite. (That's a campsite with no trees, not a campsite specifically for the bald).

Before we begin, be it known that the will of the Revered Spirits of the St'ropoli Dimension has been taken into consideration and the texture for beaches all over New Udanani has been changed to "HD Sandy Beach" - according to the results of the vote. And now for the update... As the years went by, The Activators steadily built up their industrial base. All these actions resulted in accelerated production of wide array of resources that, in turn, sped up the growth of their cities. Mining industry has always been the key element in this "virtuous cycle". This activity was keenly embraced by private companies based in Industrious Hills - the first city in which "rare earths" and coal deposits have been discovered. Nadir Mining Company, which laid claim to these deposits, constructed traditional, shaft-mining facilities atop Dal Xanth Hills to extract and ship these resources out. However, much larger project has been completed by the Activator Mining Syndicate - a state-owned company which discovered vast deposits of limestone and useful concrete aggregates within Kuun Lan Plateau. This discovery and the intense need for construction materials, turned the entire area into the largest open-pit mine in New Udanani... Kuun Lan Mines became a huge draw for Activator workers and the more resources they extracted the more money could be reinvested in the mines. Modern conveyor belts, crushers, vehicle maintenance facilities and a broad array of employee benefits soon followed. Employment in the mining business became an attractive and interesting way to make a living. A large portion of the materials obtained in Kuun Lan ended up on the Activators' own soil with the city of Industrious Hills being the main beneficiary of the new opportunities. Thanks to cheap and abundant resources The Activators were able to build the first, large-area shopping center, a minor league sports stadium and some R$ neighborhoods in this city. But even after the construction of all these facilities was complete, a large surplus of resources was still available and The Activator Tribal Council authorized a trade mission in order to try to sell some of the remaining goods. The Activators have thus gone to great lengths to dig out an artificial river harbor and build a cargo port through which their ore could be efficiently exported. All of these projects would probably have an eccentric, industrial appeal were it not for the fact that the extensive mining and building activities triggered several environmental processes that have only recently been linked to the latest developments... One of the problems identified is the way in which mining byproducts are disposed of. Uncovering valuable deposits in Kuun Lan, requires the removal of huge amounts of ground from the excavation sites. All of this ground is being piled up by the edge of Kuun Lan Plateau and then forgotten about... Kuun Lan Plateau, however, is known for fairly strong winds sweeping across the landscape all year long. This causes the dumped ground to quickly dry up into dust and travel all over the place, covering large portions of nearby meadows with dark, powdery sand. Wind has caused some of this dust to travel East as well, migrating into Industrious Hills area. Moreover, the ground dug out during the construction of artificial port basins have undergone a similar process and, likewise, started to be blown about the place. Although it may sound insane to outsiders, The Activators have welcomed the phenomenon and the dust-covered expanses have been accepted... as a form of development... As long as a piece of land is covered with something, The Activators are happy. But apart from travelling dust, experts have also noticed a slow but steady drop in the local water table levels - a phenomenon frequently associated with the mining areas all over the world. This, rendered the main water source in Kuun Lan unusable and forced some of the citizens to move to lower parts of Kuun Lan Plateau, where proper aquifers could be found. Not coincidentally, the process have also exacerbated the travelling dust issue as low moisture meant the ground became drier and loose. Regardless of The Activator's eccentric affection with the new features of their landscape, the processes initiated in their cities did not have a localized effect. Although not toxic or directly harmful to health, some of the pollution and dust from their industrial sector entered Cualescet River, resulting in a visibly murkier waters around Designers Bridge. As can be expected, rivers carry the pollution downstream. This is where another problem occurs as Cualescet passes through the Smileyface territories... Of course, this Southern tribe was not amused to see the waters along their coast getting a maroon tint... - Lady and Gentlemen, someone upstream, most likely The Activator tribe is tainting waters off our coast. We need to discuss possible solutions and counters to this situation. Said The President of The Smileyface Tribe to his cabinet of ministers. The officials understood the gravity of the situation - clean environment was one of the principles for the society's happiness. When the water pollution started to increase, the Minister of Social Satisfaction alarmed the rest of the government that satisfaction ratings in Tralfamadore (the city most affected by the problem) dropped as much as 18% in just two months - an unprecedented dip, never registered before. - Mr. President, I believe that me and my colleague, Minister of Environment, have a good, short-term solution to this challenge - said Avalan Tekhriti, Minister of Economy and the only female member of the Government - after the recent survey that we jointly ran, we have determined that Tralfamadore's hi-tech companies are able to design technologies to filter the already polluted water. At a cost of course, but it's still worth it. - Yes, it's true - "CleanAir Co." and the new "Environes" companies are working on water filtration engines as we speak. Meanwhile, my Ministry monitors the quality of all our aquifers to make sure that the drinking water is clear and safe for consumption. - Thank you dear Colleagues - said The President - I welcome your initiative and your hands-on approach puts smile on my face. However, we also need to find, or shall I say, confirm the culprit behind this sudden deterioration of our local environment. - Mr. President, if I may, this requires proper reconnaissance - replied General Baasan Ranktutru, the Smileyface Minister of Defence. - I suggest sending out a couple of SSSDs (Stealth Surface Skimmer Drones) to gather samples and intelligence upstream... This way we'll learn who or what is the source of pollution clogging our waterways. - Whatever we do, let's do it fast... - said the Minister of Social Satisfaction - Happiness and peace of mind is our ultimate goal and we need to protect it. Either the polluters understand that, or they will pay the price. - Speaking of which - added General Ranktutru - we also need to prepare ourselves for the further deterioration of the situation and... probably a direct military action. Just in case. - What do you mean General? Are you suggesting an open war with whoever has done this? - Well, you know me well and I think you know that I am not a particularly hawkish type of politician... But this is just a possibility. Our customs and laws are clear - either they smile with us, or they don't smile at all. What I'm saying is if this problem persists or spins out of control, we need to shut down or target the cause of this threat ASAP. - As controversial as this idea is, I consider it entirely logical - The President opined - General, you are authorized to make all preparations necessary but you are not allowed to take any action on your own. We shall wait for the results of the reconnaissance and the effectiveness of filtration methods offered by the Tralfamadore's companies chosen for the task. Let's act Colleagues! For the happiness and smile! The unexpected problem only further antagonized The Smileyfaces against The Activators. The former tribe had already been disapproving of the latter's tightly-packed, suffocating cities. However, the ongoing construction of R-2 highway resulted in many Smileyfaces eagerly waiting to meet The Businesspeople which, if you remember from this episode, have received a high happiness rating from The Smileyfaces as the most desirable allies. By the end of this episode, The Revered Spirits of the St'ropoli Dimension are kindly requested to once again help determine another custom texture for New Udanani. This time, the overall terrain texture (grass?) is put under your vote. The possible choices are displayed below (sorry, no Italia Mod - it's just too obvious... ) The previously selected "HD Sandy Beach" texture will, of course, be retained for the beaches. Comment replies: @Ke|is - I'm happy you liked The Mirror and the last episode! It's always nice to have you around. @tomz16 - It's very nice to hear - thank you. In fact, your CJ inspires me as well! @TogaMasterJohn - The Slackers are just lucky - that's all there is to it! Unfortunately I forgot where is the template for port information directory, so I won't post any details just yet.

Description: While boardwalks, coastlines, and other resort towns feature many of the brand name hotels we may recognize, there are always the quirky ones that stand out for one reason or another. Some cater to the local upper crust, some are smaller inns founded by an owner who wanted an excuse to move a tropical island, and others will allow you to meet an actual shark, provided you sign their waiver to hold them harmless, of course. Sharks' Bight Hotel is a fictional resort hotel and its fictional social media presence can be summed up in its #bightme campaign to recruit more Bight Club members. Comes with one ploppable and one growable lot. Stats: Plop Cost (bulldoze): 11000(100) Lot Size: 4x3 Jobs: 397 Growth stage: 8 Wealth: Medium Power: 44 Water: 44 Pollution: 5/6/15/0 @ 1/1/0/0 Dependencies: The amount of liability Sharks' Bight Hotel will assume in its waiver for you to meet an actual shark, their cuddly great white mascot named Jacques. I think that's what it was. -

The sample lots are found in the Parks Menu. To install the textures copy and paste the 'Elements Textures DAT' folder into your User\Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins folder. _________________________________ ABOUT the TEXTURES, INFO FOR LOTTERS and GAMERS The texture images are derivatives of images from a variety of commonly, freely shared sources, hand re-worked for use with SC4. The design of the textures leans toward lower contrast, saturation and brightness as more usual in realism, and for dimmer screens. If using them for creating and distributing SC4 lots the '.FSH' file may be extracted and included as a '.DAT', but don't re-distribute changed associations between the image and the ID (instance) as that could impact another user of the file. No crediting is required, but no claim of original artwork should be made if redistributing them with SC4 lots. The Texture ID Range was assigned by the BSC Texture Index at SC4 Devotion. https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=2101.0 To redistribute variations of the textures or to make your own, request and use a unique personal Texture ID Range at SC4D. ---/--- -

Welcome back for more MMP's! Its time to introduce a wider variety of sand colors and textures therefore I bring you SM2 Sands. 8 new colors and textures in 2 sizes. Large and small. As a bonus I have included a twigs, tiny rocks and branches MMP which I named SM2 Beach Clutter. Also as an extra bonus I made a nifty little wrecked boat that can be used either above or under water. For a grand total of 18 separate MMPs! All models are in HD, they are slope conforming and will also plop underwater. (When plopping MMPs under water you may not see it plop immediately, if thats the case, please zoom out then in or rotate view and the MMPs will appear correctly) Make sandy paths, beach scenes, mountain scene, lakes scene, construction scenes etc. Making a coal mine lot? No problem! You now have black sand which can simulate coal bits and dust! Your imagination is your limit. You will find them all under your Mayor menu. No dependencies! Have fun and post some pics for everyone to see. Simmer2 -

Here I present my Sahara terrain mod. This mod (I personally think) is unfinished due to lack of work and textures, but I decided to upload it because I'm unsure If I'd ever complete it and I hope someone may make use of it. This mod replaces your terrain with soft sandy textures representing a vast dry desert, dunes poking out of the summer haze. This mod has no dependencies, and contains 2 of my other mods, the Sphinx Rock Mod, and the White Gravel Beach Mod. These 2 dat. files are optional. All other files included in the download are required in order for the soft sand heated by endless summer suns to appear. -

AKNOWLEGDEMENTS: This mod would have much harder to do without the work of Rivit, creator of GoFSH and the original Coastal Modd. My job was simply to create and replace some images, then letting the program to do its magic. DESCRIPTION: When planning my upcoming CJ, based on a volcanic island, I noted the lack of a black texture to match basaltic sands: the available ones were granitic, grey sands, or overly black and unrealistic ones. This newer sands should match adequately in any volcanic or basaltic coast, from Iceland to New Zealand, provided they are match with a dark cliff texture (there's an upcoming one from this part!). This mod replaces textures both for terrain and beach lot sands, including custom ones. COMPATIBILITY: Just asure you this mod is loaded AFTER anyone changing the default sand textures. Also, being an SD texture, this is not compatible with HD terrain mods (like Gobias' and Lowkee ones), because they read the images as being four times bigger, stretching and pixelating them in the process. Also, those mods usually include their own sand textures. LICENSE: <-- this time there's no typo This mod has a Creative Commons Attribution - Non Commercial 4.0 International licence, what means you can use all its content directly or creating something derivately, while you give explicit attribution to all previous authors, and while you don't charge for accessing or using this content or a derivate you create of it. To create the textures, I used a sand texture made by tatyana. SUPPORT and HELP: I made a development and support thread on Simtropolis, you can visit it with the following link: matias93 Unexpected mod workshop -

Heblem submitted a set of terrain props in 2010. It contained sand props that could be painted onto the terrain. I thought that these props would be useful for making paths and trails, but they are too large for that. So I used Model Tweaker to make smaller props. Now I can offer you the four sand textures by Heblem in two smaller sizes: Small and Extra Small. You can paint them on your terrain, you can use them on your lots. Dependency You need one dependency for the set to work: HBS Flora Prop Pack vol.01 If you want Heblems original MMP's too you also need: HBS Tropical Flora Pack (Mayor Mode) I made the props, Paeng made the MMP's. Thank you Paeng! Have fun! FrankU -CB Edit: Fixed dependency links. -

Lol, NOT TODAY BOYZ. Actually I'm still working on it, but first update should be out soon. Anyways, today we have Masel, Atlantsia. The marina of it that is. Embassies Part 1+Around the CBD will be coming soon, so stay on the lookout for that . BTW, for some reason my automata is messed up at further zooms, not sure why. There are still some cars visible from these zooms, but much less than when I zoom in. Without further ado, here is the update: The Marina at Masel, formally known as the Masel Bay Marina, is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the city for avid boaters. The Marina is lined by large condomoniums and hotels. Rental centers for yacht and speedboat rentals are open 12 hours a day starting at 7:00 A.M. Along with the many residential estates, a large variety of restaurants, diners, clubs, theatres, and other attractions bring the marina to life at night. The Sierra Complex is a cruise ship port, located half a mile from the marina. The Antebairah Hotel located Jebel Barudekh Ave. is the most popular hotel in the marina district. That's all for today! Ciao guys . Comments and ratings are always appreciated Psst, Fox. Foxy, that grey building next to the triangular blue building in the marina pictures is your embassy. Just lettin' y'know!
