A Complete Conversion For SimCity 2000 Special Edition Win 95. Explore new heights and discover new buildings as you reach to the new exodus! plenty of content. Includes replacement buildings for SimCity 2000. Much greater than the original, these building Tiles function properly to add a realistic gameplay experience. INSTALLATION DIRECTIONS!!!! You may need an archive tool that Unzips compressed files such as WINRAR, its what I use. Then extract the file named 'Jays' Empire Megalopolis'.MIF to a folder called " SCURKART' , its 'where your SimCity 2000 is stored, or you can make an entirely new installation folder location just as long as you can find it! LOL Usually you can just double click on the File," Jays' Empire Megalopolis. MIF" and it will open to SCURK, or just right click and choose to open with SCURK. From there you will be able to access the goodies! From the main game. At the main menu of SimCity 2000 Special Edition there will be as follows.. LOAD CITY START NEW CITY EDIT NEW MAP LOAD SCENARIO WATCH WILL TV ***LOAD TILE SET*** QUIT Click on load tile set and it will take you to a directory screen, LOOK IN, SCURKART, or where ever you extracted to and select the tile set, " Jays' Empire Megalopolis.MIF. Once selected it will take you back to the main menu, from there you can choose what ever you want. When you begin the game you'll notice that mostly everything is different! IN GAME Once you have started a new city or what ever and your in the game, you can load the tile set from there by, clicking 'FILE' at the top left hand side of the screen and selecting," Load Tile Set". It will take you to the same directory . Look In.. The folder where you extracted , " Jays' Empire Megalopolis.MIF and selet it! It will Change every thing over to my awesome tile set.
  2. Hey guys, not sure if this is allowed but I was wondering if you could give me some advice on getting a new laptop. Needless to say, playing SC4 will be one of its main uses so I'd like to make sure I choose a suitable one. I currently have on an old Packard Bell Kav60 with processor N270 1.60GHz and 1GB RAM. I was recently offered a guaranteed pre-owned Lenovo X201, which has dual-core i5 2.66GHz and 2GB RAM. Any issues with it? Aside from game performance, I would want a laptop which is: - Light-weight and compact - Quiet - Durable - Affordable (i.e. dirt cheap) What should I look for, or avoid? Any input will be greatly appreciated, thank you.
  3. Hi people! I want to play SimCity 4 again, after years and years! My question is: what do you think I need for an optimal play and the best - and most modern - experience of the game? Actually, I want to install this game on my older laptop (bought in 2013), to play it, casually, when I'm not at home (otherwise, I usually use my more recent and more powerful gamer desktop PC, bought in March 2019)... Older laptop characteristics: CPU: Intel Core i5-4200M (dual-core 2.5 GHz, with Turbo Boost up to 3.1 GHz) GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760M (2 Go) RAM: 8 Go DDR3 Maximum screen resolution : 1600 x 900 Operating system: 64-bit Windows 10 Home => My desire is to play the game smoothly in 1600 x 900 (with a better use of the RAM), and with a small selection of the best and most needed mods and company, etc. ... Oh, and also I think I saw a pop-up with things (CDs?) to buy, when I signed in? Be aware that I can be prone to buy them, I mean I'm OK with that too. What would you suggest me, please, and how to install all these suggested things? Thank you in advance! (sorry for posting this thread if it sounds a bit stupid )
  4. This shows a solution to the traffic problem on the highways and inside the city. It gives a way of making interchanges that are not actually interchanged roads or highway off ramps but actually interchanged highways. Each highway is interwoven with it's opposite allowing for highway ramps to take traffic to each side of the city without making large curved off ramps from one side to the other. This is a link to my Steam workshop asset which is a finished solution for making interwoven highways: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=492851621 , "Perafilozof's highway change side" And if you want to see how to make it manually you can watch this video: https://youtu.be/IY9BLxMkO5g
  5. ok ok, so know that I wouldn't use ''one of the best'' lightly, especially for this community, but I'm rather convinced that should this mod be created it may just bring a whole new aspect to the game and it is one that might just be nearing as good as a mod for larger City tile numbers (which ironically is how I came across simtropolis, anyone else remember the mod whcih finally let us build bigger cities? ) So my thought is this. A mod which causes time to run simultaneously accross all cities in a Region. The only way I imagine this would realistically be possible in a relatively simple manner is this... It doesn't actually happen simultaneously, but rather the mod just keeps track of time passed while in one City, and when one saves and Exits this value is kept track of and upon entering the next City that value for amount of time passed while in the other City is the amount of time the City runs before one can do anything to interfere! so basically one spends, let'S say, 2 years (730 days) in City 1A and then saves and Exits. scratch that above kinda, i just realized, it would actually Need to Keep track of not time passed, but rather the date, or some value like that. I might think of exactly how later but basically it would Need to be done in a manner which accomodates the fact that one might pass 2 years in City 1 another 2 months in City 2 and then 3 months in City 3 and all that time will Need to add up and be passed upon entering City 4. but basically, like i said, there Ends up being an amount of time for which the City one just entered will run, before one can interfere (pause Option off, you got News? it'S gonna be treated as though ignored. The landfill filled up? too bad you can build more once the time has passed. Oh no your Budget suddenly went down due to a powershortage because ur landfill is empty and chaos errupted and ur about to go bankrupt causing all your neighboring deals to no longer be in effect? you're gonna have to watch it happen ) The only Thing which would Need to be implemented is either a way for available firetrucks to be sent out automatially, or fires still causing the game to pause and allowing one to send out firetrucks- but you wont be able to build a firestation so ya better have enough) so while time passing might nt be a big deal for an empty or unstarted City, It will get more and more difficult the more built up the Region is since all the cities will Need to be in a state which causes them not to ''go to hell'' so to speak, for Long enough. One can still build across all of them since while paused no time passes for any the other Thing i just realized, is this...(just a lil note here, I came across this idea while htinkin about how neighboring deals can easily be abused--i know i know, if one is willing to do that one might as well use a Money cheat simply-- but anyways) So the other aspect is that if possible, there should be a value for how Long one can continue to do something, or to what extent. What i mean is this...lets say you got a landfill and ur gettin garbage shipped to you, well, there is an amount of garbage which will come in at a certain rate, and the landfill will fill up (or maybe u got a WTE plant so it stays the same). So there is still an amount of garbage space left, which would Change though relative to how the neighboring cities' Situation changes and it would be nice if These values could be applied (i.e if i spend 10 years in City 2 which is sending garbage to City 3 and after 8 years at the current rate City 3's landfill is full then the deal Auto cancels at that Point--after which one can notice this and go to the other City)...idk im not tryna think more about how right now, but ill prolly touch on this later again. for now I'm just interested in the Responses. P.S (I'm fairly newish to sc4 though sc2k n 3k were some of the first vid games i ever played) and I have as good as no actual modding experience
  6. Best Films of 2015

2015 was a pretty good year for movies. As someone who goes to the movies quite often, I saw some good ones and some bad ones. Let me know your favorites (and least favorites) SPOILERS The best movie I saw in theaters this year was Star Wars: the Force Awakens. I'll admit that part of the allure is that it's a Star Wars movie. I had gone on a binge of the original trilogy before seeing this, and the hype was up. When the Star Wars logo appeared on screen and the opening theme started playing... that was a special moment. That was when the reality that "I'm seeing Star Wars in theaters" kicked in. Oh, and by the way... My second favorite was The Walk. This is a pretty biased decision, as anything revolving around cities and architecture is going to be on my list. It's still a good movie, and it's excellently filmed. It's still a great movie, but one I found pretty underrated. It didn't do too good at the box office, and I'm pretty sure I was the only one at the theater not AARP eligible. My third favorite was Inside Out. I found it exceptionally creative, even by Disney's standards. And considering that Disney is the epitome of creativity in the film industry, that's saying a lot. It took abstract ideas, personified them, and made them memorable. The explanation of how Riley's mind works was also extremely thought out (pun intended) and worked despite its complications.
  7. UPDATE: I'm happy to announce this list has now become a full blown collective initiative, with many of the people I contacted giving us their support. As such, I have decided to write a Guide on Steam that will set some Guidelines and Best Practices for authors who wish to participate. I'm calling it "Steam Workshop for Dummies" . As always, I'm open to change this but I really like this title and I think it has some punch to it and will catch the eye. I ask everyone to be patient as I work on this project during the following days/weeks, I'll try to be as quick as possible updating this topic, but this is quite a big undertaking and I am working alone most of the time. In the meanwhile, please feel free to continue suggesting authors, or discussing this initiative in the comments below. Open the Spoiler to view the List as it is so far. (Very incomplete - If you're not on it yet and should be, don't worry I'll get to you. If someone is on the list who shouldn't be, don't worry I'll get to them. So much work lol. If you wish to volunteer to help me with the formatting, linking or other tasks, feel free to inbox me or add me as a friend on Steam. hyperdrive_engage (Road Color Changer) I really like hyperdrive_engage's work so far with re-texture mods and his "removers" are very useful. His mod really helps bring the numbers closer to a realistic feel. PopBalanceMod Sims firehouse (Terraform Tool for Asset Editor) Sims firehouse is not only a friend and a gentleman, but also a very high standards content creator. Most of his work has been on intersections so far, but he shines for his re-working of the Terraform tool by rollo for the Asset Editor. Please be patient while we update and complete this topic, come back soon!
  8. Hi all. I was just wondering what mods are a must have when playing SimCity 4. Like what mods would be needed if you were planning to build a successful city or urban area. And also is their a mod that can change the texture of the ground to a more realistic dark green and make more realistic looking trees like pine trees. Thanks.
  9. Best mods for SC4 on Mac

After a 7 year hiatus of playing SC4, I am at it again, but have no clue as to what Mods are worth the effort. I already have NAM for Mac, any other suggestions would be great, as it seems there are some great Mods just not sure what combo would be most useful. Thanks
  10. Here you can post the best pictures you made in Simcity. I'll start:
  11. Hi, All! I have a relatively simple question and I'm hoping the wonderful members of ST can provide some kind of help. This week, I just procured another copy of SC4. My intentions were to build my plugins folder slowly as I build cities, while also learning the art of lot editing to fill my maps with essentially all custom content (as we see so many members of ST do so masterfully). After loading it into my PC and downloading some of the basic plugins as a start (NAM, terrain mod, Mapper, maps, etc), I found that my PC is far too outdated for me to run this game with the intentions that I have. So how large of an upgrade would I have to make in order to smoothly operate SC4 with a deep plugin folder? I'm open to any suggestions, whether they be to simply upgrade my current system in some way or even if I should go as far as to buying a gaming computer. I just figured that the community who is always posting beautiful work filled with custom content must have an idea of the computing capacity necessary to the run the game in such a manner. I thank you all in advance for the help!
