Who were the original advisors in SimCity 2000, and what became of them? I know that the Fire Chief was the Group Chief Accountant of Maxis at the time, and who, probably got the boot when Maxis were taken over... so who were they all and what became of them?

I am looking for some lost from the web SimCity 2000 utilities. One utility made it possible to change a city name and mayor name of a saved .sc2 file. Another utility allowed you to edit the neighbors of your city. Another allowed you to create your own scenarios. And there were some tools that allowed you to do some modifications to the cities. I tried looking for these utilities but all I am getting is 404 not found on every single one. Where can I find a working link to these utilities?

I am having an issue with SimCity 2000 Special Edition where if I try to place a label (sign) on any park/recreational plop or power plant, I always get an error message that says, "You can't place a label here at this time." I Googled that error message but only unrelated results showed up in Google. I searched again with quotes and I got "No results for" "Searching without quotes" and the same unrelated results. I know that it is possible to put labels on parks and power plants because several cities that came bundled with SimCity 2000 Special Edition have labels on power plants and recreational plops. See attached screenshot of error. Does anybody know what the problem could be?

Hi all! I'm new to Simtropolis, but I've been playing Sim City since Sim City 2000, which means, over 15 years, as scary as that number sounds to me. :/ I'm a big Sim City 4 gamer. I love to develop regions and cities. When I heard about Sim City 2013 I had to try it out! So, I spent 2 hours playing the trial run and thought I would write up a review. You can check it out on my blog: http://mnmmariam.wordpress.com/2015/07/05/my-sim-city-5-2013-review-my-new-sim-city-story Let me know what you think! And hope you all have a great post-independence day Sunday =)

sc2000 So cities can run themselves... Into the ground.
tgp1994 posted a topic in City-Building Games
Hope you all are up for some nostalgia... I had installed Sim City 2000 awhile ago, since as long as I've lived, I've never properly played it. I've played Sim Copter, Streets of Sim City, and even found my way around SCURK. But I've never play, until just recently. At any rate, I wanted to play the Flint scenario, since it's somewhat close. The first time I played, I was in about 7 years; industry, commercial, and residential was picking up and I was adding some dough to the treasury. I guess I thought I had lost though, so I read up on a strategy guide Setting Industrial tax to 0% and won in about three years. I left the game on the budget window, thinking it would stay like that. Boy, was I wrong. Essentially, 82% of the city was somehow reduced to rubble. I'm guessing a gang war broke out so the other side did ok? It seems like I still managed to generate a nice chunk of cash, so I guess I'll keep playing... On a slightly unrelated note, does anyone know if the water distribution simulation is bugged? I can have a surplus of water capacity, yet some parts of the city connected to the water main don't get water.
