CURB - Concrete Urban Retainers by Bipin - Remodelled & Retextured!

First off, I am totally taken with these walls! :3 There is a distinct lack of extremely well-done sunken highway walls methinks. And I agree with FaintForrk, a straight filler and possibly a half of the ramp pieces would be very nice to have. (ie straight would be the middle section of the ramps piece, to fill the gaps between overpasses/ramps) (half would be ie the offramp half and onramp halves separately). -

Voltaire, these packs make me want to make airports, rather than just plop whatever to make my sims stop complaining that cars can't float the other continents... And I want to say that the level of research and effort you are giving is appreciated! These are definately great and deserving of 10's!

It doesn't compare to some of these, but SR 8 in Akron Ohio, was overcongested *before* it was finished decades ago. The point southbound just before the blue bridge over the valley is a blind corner where for no freaking reason, people slow down. You're going 55mph, then suddenly 20mph. You get around the corner, and 55mph again! They fixed the 20 foot onramp/offramp distances a bit now, but they are also dangerous. Imagine merging onto a sunken 4-lane highway from a dead stop with all of 20' to get into 55-70mph traffic! Also, at the Central interchange, you have three lanes on SR 8 northbound. Right lane is merged two onramps from I-76, they have to get in the middle lane or exit, people in the middle need to get on the right to exit, and left lane are not paying attention... equals fun merging times.

Although I do not grid all of my cities (just the CBD), I typically use highways as beltways to skirt around the city, with suburbs outside and C+I inside. These then have a few T junctions which drop down to avenues, which run to the heart of the city. Then I try to force the sims to use only those to get around town.

Regarding the conditions of roads, I can attest in Akron Ohio that our concrete roads are nice, but two months (or two days) after completion, there are other repairs done (sewer, water, etc) and instead of patching with *concrete*, they patch it with asphalt... making a horrible sinkhole! Why they don't do infrastructure *before* the road, I never will know. For highways that are mildly useless, I point out US 224 west of I-71, which doesn't really need to be a four-lane divided highway. Also, the I-480 east of I-271 SE of Cleveland doesn't seem useful, given traffic levels. And regarding a Y-interchange, if it would look good and function properly, I'd use it methinks.
