This is a set of lots which will allow you to add rapid exit taxiways (RETs) to your custom airports. Like my 48m-wide runway lots, I created this set to be compatible with existing custom airport content, specifically those found in RMIP. There are lots for both 32m and 48m runways. In real life, rapid exit taxiways are linked to runways and allow aircraft to exit at high speed. They are common in most commercial airports, and as such you can easily look to satellite photos to learn realistic ways to use these lots. In the attached file, the lots come in two sub-sets: fixed and modular. Fixed RETs are designed for a specific spacing between a parallel runway and taxiway. They come pre-fabricated, and just need to be plopped down as three puzzle pieces. There is a five tile spacing, and a six tile spacing version for both types of runway. Obviously, this does not offer much in terms of versatility or customization. The reason I've included these is that the taxiways are built at a 22.5 degree angle. While this prevents modularity, it does make these lots compatible with the aircraft props currently being produced by @Barroco Hispano, so if you'd like to decorate these lots with taxiing planes you can do that. Still, I understand that users might find these less useful, so I kept them in their own folder. Feel free to remove it. The other subset is modular. As implied, these RETs have repeatable tiles, and can be expanded out indefinitely. They work for runways and taxiways separated by six tiles or more. Also included in this set are fractional angle taxiways. These use the same rapid exit tiles, but allow you to connect them with turns to orthogonal or diagonal taxiways. This creates something like a taxiway version of the FA road system. For improved usability, I've also included helper props to guide how to orient each tile. I didn't make custom-angled props, so they're all still at 45 degrees. Just know that wherever they point to on the edge of the tile, that's where the centerline of the taxiway is. Finally, the large size of these lots creates some problems for custom runways. Namely, if you're following the design guide provided with RMIP Volume 1, you may need to place TDZ markings on a spot now covered by the RET lot. To help with this, I've included some unused textures that will allow you to customize the lots and place runway markings as needed. An example of the results can be seen below. It's not the most elegant or convenient solution, but it does provide a bit more versatility if you desire it. In the included texture file, these additional textures start at 0xF92C5455. ------------------------------------------------------- DEPENDENCIES -RMIP (Vol. 1-4) sets by Voltaire -48m Runway set by me -AC MEGA Props Volume 2 ------------------------------------------------------- Thanks to @Scaley McSlitherfor the helpful beta testing on this. -

This is a collection of 48m (three tile)-wide runway lots designed to be compatible with the existing custom runway sets found in RMIP. It should contain 48m versions of all equivalent lots found in RMIP Volume 1, as well as additional intersection lots compatible with the diagonal taxiways found in RMIP Volume 3, the Diagonal Runway Project by @Scaley McSlither, and BriPizza's Runway 4x. The custom textures used in this set are modified versions of those originally posted by @Voltaire, so the majority of credit goes to them for putting in the initial work. I simply built off of it in order to create lots that would be visually compatible with existing custom airport pieces found on Simtropolis. Also, thanks again to @rsc204 and @Kloudkicker for the help in getting here. This is my first custom content so I really needed the help. The dependencies are the sets I've already mentioned: RMIP 2 Small Airport Edition Vol 1 RMIP 2 Small Airport Edition Vol 3 The Diagonal Runway Project In addition, though not required for functionality, I would recommend downloading BriPizza's Runway 4x set, in order to have something to go with one of the intersections. Runway 4x As I said, this is my first upload, so I apologize for any mistakes or missing content. Please let me know and I will fix anything ASAP. -
A quick question regarding AC Functional Airports and the ACB VLT packs: 1. Does the latter actually function as airports (ie provide CAP relief) because Voltaire mentioned it doesn't. 2. Do aircraft take off and land on the runway?

Hello Mitchell's As an kid (14.5 Years old as of 20/10/17) that played things like Bus Driver/Airport Tycoon 3/Falcon 4.0/FSX/NFSU 1-2/GTA VC SA/(I have an unconfirmed memory about 18 Wheels Of Steel) I learned there is an mod where you can make modular airports named RMIP But it looks like it only comes with runways and its nothing more than a "Master Controller Mod" But I Want to install EVERY RMIP based airport mod out there and I want to install every OFFICIAL plane mod So can someone give me an list of every RMIP based airport mod and official plane mod ?

So have uploaded RMIP-2 Vol 1-4 into the plugin folder but, only items from Vol 4 (I think) are showing in the airfields list. I have removed all other modds for the airfields thinking that there may be a conflict between the RMIP and the AC stuff but there was no change. Anyone else had this happen or got anything I need to check. P.S I also installed the MML to see if that will make them show up but no luck.

Hello all, Not sure if this is the proper forum for this so apologies if it is. I am looking for the light blank tile in the TMIP (Taxiway Marking Improvement Pack). Before when I had it on my other computer it was in the airport menu. I have used it as a filler before. I have AC MEGA textures and AC MEGA props. Am I missing something? They are like both the pictures below, the "lead out" tiles but without the yellow markings. Much appreciated Carl

Tutorial or Guides for Constructing Realistic Airports
Jimmyson posted a topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I have downloaded the RMIP and ACE Modular Airports Sets off SC4 Devotion and I need to find a tutorial on how to construct a realistic airport. I have come across a set of videos on YouTube, but they are not very useful for myself and the words overlay the content and the recorded Screen size is very small. There was a thread on another forum detailing the construction, but the screenshot have since been removed, or are no longer available. Is there a new and updated tutorial on this? -
(sorry if bad english i'm french) I wanted to create a 1x1 tile building (same properties as maxis international airport) to make my RMIP eye-candy airport become "real" airport I tried to do it in LotEditor but i can't reduce the size of the lot (maybe because maxis airport is upgradable ...) I don't know much thins about modding ,etc. so someone can help me ? Thanks.

Now Nyan Airlines can fly to your own cities from Schulmania! This pack includes 6 lots: the Nyan Airlines 737, 747 and MD-90 on both a runway and a basic taxiway, both from the RMIP pack. All lots are 2x2. Note that this file just contains the lot files, the models and other required files are not included in this download. Also note that the model for the 737 was made by airman15, who also planned the liveries for all three planes. All lots appear in the landmarks menu, not the airport menu. Dependencies: Nyan Airlines aircraft RMIP 2 Small Airport Edition vol 1 Installation: Simply unzip the file and place the contained folder in your plugins folder. -

I hadn't originally intended to upload this, but since many users requested I do, I am doing so. It is therefore not exactly "high-quality", but it was never intended to be uploaded again, so I'm sorry about that . There are no nightlights for this BAT (yes, I know how to nightlight a BAT), but I didn't feel it was necessary for this specific structure. You may find the lot in the Metro-Menu, under Transportation. (Required-Brown Box) Dependencies: WTC TRANSIT HUB http://community.sim...tc-transit-hub/ (Used for "Building" portion of lot, in the Lot Editor) (Suggested-Not Necessary, But Helpful) Dependencies: http://sc4devotion.c...php?lotGET=1544 (You will need to have a LEX account to obtain this) The lot is currently on a grassy texture, and there is no plane on it due to copyright restrictions. The avenue is fully transit enabled. Feel free to edit this in the Lot Editor by searching for: "Taxiway Over Avenue...." To add a plane, select the prop you wish to add in the Lot Editor and raise the plane using "Ctrl+Shift+UP ARROW". Take care guys, 10000000000000 (First Upload btw, woohoo ) * Mod update: Screenshot image replaced by CaptCity. Thanks to @SIM-ple Jack for pointing it out. -

Taxiway Markings Improvement Pack Menu Management Lots by fafalone I know these are long overdue, but they weren't finished before I went on hiatus, and I'm glad SCAG didn't delay releasing TMIP waiting for this. Description This package contains Menu Management Lots (MMLs) for TMIP. Two MMLs are included, one for the TMIP lots on the lighter texture, and one for the TMIP lots on the darker texture. When this package is installed, the lots will no longer appear on the menu. To make them appear, build the MML lot in your city. After approximately one game month, the TMIP lots will appear in the Airport menu. To hide the icons again, bulldoze the MML lot and reload your city. The MML construction lots will appear near the top of the Airports menu, but the TMIP lots themselves will remain in their normal place farther down when they become visible. Dependencies TMIP Vol. 1 (and its dependencies) must be installed; the MML download does not contain the full release. Support If you have any trouble with this release, drop by the SCAG forums @ sc4devotion. UPDATE: One lot in the dark texture set was only disabled, not hidden from the menu. The issue has now been corrected. -

If you're looking for the ultimate in SimCity 4 airport design, search no further! RMIP-2 gives you the power to shape your airside pavement like never before. This series of detailed, real-scale, modular pieces fits together seamlessly to create custom airports of any size. And because all the pieces are U-Drive-It compatible, you can fly planes from your airport when it's finished! Originally released as a small set of runway markings in late 2005, RMIP-2 has grown into a complete airport pavement system, composed of five main groups: Runways - precision, non-precision and visual runways, navaids, and approach lighting Taxiways - diagonals and orthogonals, with many intersection types and seamless transitions to ramps & aprons Aprons - parking for small jets and planes, hangars for light aircraft, and taxi lanes Ramps - passenger gates with jetways or air stairs, passenger walkways, and lead-in lines Grounds - taxiway signs, green chain-link fence with rounded corners, and plain grass filler Due to its size and complexity (over 200 Lots so far), RMIP-2 is recommended for aviation enthusiasts wanting to spend time building a realistic airport. Browse through the thread and see the project from its beginning -- there are many pics in here that never get posted in the STEX files or readme! Just wanted to let everyone know I am still working on further improvements in SC4 airport realism, mainly in the area of Lot textures, but also a little BAT work. Here is a sample of what I've been working on lately: These taxiways and a makeover of the small runways will occupy me in the near term, but I would like to extend the scope of my work to custom props for taxiway signage, and some tarmac-to-apron transitions. Given time (weeks-months) I would like to completely re-make the light props, because I am tired of the sea of flashing lights which the taxiways turn into at night. My BAT skills are definitely novice-level, but I'm learning fast with the help of some great tutorials in the Omnibus. I will keep posting updates whenever I have a nice pic to show, and I may even release some lots in a few weeks. Please leave comments - a high level of interest in these lots will definitely speed up production!
