The simulated bridge pieces of the CSK look nice and are very flexible...but in reality you would need a submarine to get under one. We've just taken care of that. Put on your truss, Baby... 'cause we've got some heavy lifting to do! Lift Bridges were once a very common & cheaper alternative to the more popular draw bridge whose primary advantage was that it could span wider waterways... and if you were a movie star being chased by bad guys, you could jump it in you car, plummet down 100 feet at 140 miles per hour... and somehow not damage the car's suspension. (the same car, btw... that needs a wheel alignment if you so much as scuff a curb.) Buy anyway, the Lift Bridge operates on the very simple of principle of just lifting the bridge up out of the way of passing water traffic. Nothing fancy... just reliable functionality. We liked them so much, we made two... one for roads and a double width bridge for avenues. These are not static lots. We've nicknamed them "Yo-Yo Bridges" as they go up and down all day long. Every time a boat shows up (which is every 4 hours, btw...), the bridges will go up. When the boat is gone, the bridges go down. There's no mojo involved... just well timed rotating props. Also, when the bridge is up, the safety gates go down. Bridge goes down... gates go up. We tried reversing that... but the canal kept filling up with cars. These lots plop as part of your channel/canal system. They are fully traffic enabled for all road traffic (peds, cars, buses, trucks, geeks on mopeds, etc...) & you can see the traffic cross when the bridge is down. When the bridge is up, traffic will continue to cross however it's not visible and just disappears under the bridge. This was done because the bridge stays up for 2 hours (game time) so that the player can actually see it up... and that's a long time to stop up traffic and would otherwise impact the game. These lots have no YIMBY/NIMBY effect, They are cheap to plop and cheap to maintain. First player to get their bridge to "walk the dog"... wins!! **IMPORTANT** The avenue bridge uses normal avenue transit enabling instead of using one ways roads with a dependency on the NAM or other network mod in order to allow one-way road to avenue connections. As a result, the avenue medians will show when the wealth in the area changes. When/if this happens, simply re-plop the bridge lot. They are cheap and we felt this was an easier solution to counter the game's default avenue mechanics. ** These lots have no external dependencies although installation of the PEG CSK is recommended. So... What's Up, Dock? Our next installment for the CSK2 is appropriately misnamed as its loaded with nothing but industrial docks for your channel and canal systems. Nothing says "Industrial Grunge" better than murky water lapping up against creosote pilings with the occasional 3-eyed fish floating on the surface. This collection of 6 new lots for the CSK2 will allow you to build an active waterfront in and around your industrial areas. These docks are loaded for bear with ever-changing barge traffic, shuffling dock cargo and plenty of hourly workers trying to look busy until their next coffee break. The 6 lots included are: 3 different styles of 1x1 Docks you can use to create variety along your riverfronts. A 3x1 row of Extended Docks to quickly cover long stretches of waterfront. An Inner & an Outer Corner Dock so you can build continuous docks of any shape or size. All dock lots have no positive or negative effects on the surrounding area. They are YIMBY/NIMBY non-gratis. They do produce a very small amount of water pollution but nothing collectively noticeable. Each lot costs 1 buck to maintain and they are all very reasonably priced to plop. They will appear in your Water Transportation Menu below the other CSK2 lots. ** This Add-On requires the PEG CSK2 This file also requires an updated version of the PEG CSK Channel Barges. * If you downloaded the Barges file prior to 9/19/05, you can either re-download the Barge props or apply a small patch file that is included with this download. See the Developer Notes section of the Readme file for instructions. Don't forget to Download the other CSK & CSK2 Kits & Add-Ons. A moment of reflective silence please as we mourn the death of the PEG CSK2. ..... ..... [sigh]..... Now... let's celebrate the rebirth of the CSK2 as the new PPond Canal Kit !!. The entire collection of variable-width CSK2 Canal Kit lots have been remodeled to use the new PPond style water. Not only does this allow you to seamlessly transition PPond rivers and lakes with canals.... but now you can also use any of the CSK2 specialty lots... like the Docks, Bridges, Extender lots and the Small Port... anywhere along a PPond river or lake. If the significance of this has not yet struck home... let's clarify. We just added a ton of double-duty new PPond lots to your toy box... without adding a zillion and one new menu icons. The PPond Kit just got about 4 times larger... and now includes a fully integrated Canal System, Industrial Docks and a functional Seaport that can be used along any PPond ploppable waterway. The Scows, the Barges, the functional Water Taxis... they're all now available for use with the PPond Kit. Freak out. * Most of the CSK2 specialty lots do not have the canal concrete side walls... and can therefore be used and blend in with the natural-looking banks of PPond rivers and lakes. This single download replaces all of the previous CSK2 files... except for the Small Port and the various bridge lots. Once installed, any CSK2 lots installed in your cities are updated automatically. You will not need to replop the lots... with a few exceptions for some of the specialty lots. The lot's menu icons remain the same &. in the same menu locations you are accustomed to. This new PPond Canal Kit directly replaces the following files... which can be deleted: * CSK2 * CSK2 Add-On * CSK2 Fountains * CSK2 Docks (Re-plop Lots) * CSK2 Water Taxis (Re-plop Lots & Reconnect Subway Tunnels) * CSK2 Annabellelin Restaurant (Re-plop Lots. Keep the RESOURCE file) This new PPond Canal Kit does not change the following files... which you should keep: * CSK2 Scows * CSK2 Random Traffic * CSK2 Small Port (Re-plop Lots) * The CSK2 Lift Bridges and 3x Bridge kits will be updated separately and should also be retained for now. The Locks are also scheduled to go under the knife. Patches/Updates to certain files will be released separately. * The single tile width CSK Canals will not be remodeled to be compatible with the PPond system. However, included as a separate file with this package is a new CSK Flood Gate transition lot that can be used to blend the original CSK Canals to the new PPond Canals. Once installed, the new transition lot will appear in your Water Transportation menu along with the other CSK lots. If you do not use the CSK single-width Canals, you can remove the file once installed. ** These lots require the following: PEG PPond Kit PEG CSK Barges All Pegasus files are now legacy content and are no longer officially supported - however support from the wider community can be requested here. -Cori Edit: Made dep linkys clickable. -

The first of several add-ons for the new CSK Channel Stream Kit. This one is all about moving up and down the terrain and building your channels at different heights. For navigation, that means locks. For simple water flow... waterfalls. The add-on contains 3 new lots for the CSK. Like all CSK lots, they have been conveniently placed in the Water Transportation Menu. The 3 new lots are: 1. Waterfall Lot - Virtually identical to the PEG Stream Kit waterfall except for the channel sections top & bottom and a new texture on the slope. 2. The Channel Lock - A 1x3 lot that is very similar to the waterfall except for the 2 stage lock in the middle. At different times in the day, the lock will be either filled or partially empty. Channel barges will also appear at the top and bottom of the lock during the day. 3. The Ocean Lock - Similar to the Lock, the lot is only 1x2 and is designed specifically for transitions to game default water. The lock is also a 2-stage model... and barges will appear at the top of the lock. ** This Add-On requires the PEG CSK as well as the PEG CSK Barges Prop Pack. This is a prop pack designed for use with the PEG Channel Stream Kit. It contains a collection of small barges that will be used on a variety of CSK lots. As such, this collection will be listed as a Dependency for most CSK add-on packs.... and possibly some CDK lots as well. Each of the barges is unique is some fashion... hauling different cargos such as 55 gal. drums and crates, bagged items such as grain, and bulk cargos such as coal, ore and even trash. There are also water taxis and a tour barge as well as several empty barges. The barges are included in several new prop families so that they can be made to appear randomly on certain CSK lots... and at different times. This should add a little life and variety to the otherwise static channels. The props may also be used by other developers in their creations. The details and specifics are documented in the Developer Notes section of the Readme file. ** This file has no dependencies. Now you can extend your Streams with a more Urban look with this 'channelized' add-on for the PEG Stream Kit. Although technically an extension of the Stream Kit, these concrete lined channels evolved during development (feature creep) into their own, stand-alone mini-canal or channel system. They will merge seamlessly with the existing Streams but can also be used all by themselves. The new single tile wide Channels are a great way to have water flowing through your city without sacrificing a lot of real estate. With the old and stained concrete look, they are grungy enough to look right at home in even the dirtiest industrial area. Yet, with the red tile wall caps, they have that old-world charm & Mediterranean styling that adds class to any residential or commercial area. Very flexible... with 2 styles of corners (square or round), a pedestrian bridge designed for use with the PEG Trail Park & Seasonal Trail Park, a roadway/network bridge and an extender lot to allow passage under elevated rail or highways, these channels can go almost anywhere. They are even mildly slope-tolerant and can traverse up/down smooth, modest slopes. The kit also includes a Stream Transition lot for a seamless transition to & from the original Streams. Additional lots, including a waterfall and a lock, are being developed for the first add-on to the new style. The individual lots retain a small taste of park & landmark benefits, however, their desirability values have been greatly reduced. They still provide a taste of the YIMBY, but they won't collectively blow out any caps. Their plop price has also been reduced significantly and maintenance averages $1 a lot/tile. * These lots have been relocated to the Water Transportation Menu for ease of use. ** The straight, 3x straight and straight Utility lots are slope tolerant and will allow the channels to flow down (or up) modest slopes. *** All the channel lots fully cover the tile(s) of the lot... so there is no concern about matching adjacent terrain. ** The Channel Stream Kit has no dependencies.
