Port de Caravella: Cruise ship and Container Terminal
Krisman posted a City Journal entry in Principauté de Caravella-Guatalaga
In the previous entry I've showed you guys the Passenger Terminal, but of course there is more to do in and around the commercial harbor. The Container Terminal is the main point for all general cargo transshipment handlings. The Container Terminal as an important transit point for transport of bulk and other goods between the European continent and the Principauté. The port is operated by the Port de Caravella Port Authority, originally a municipal body of Port de Caravella, but since 1 January 2004, a government corporation jointly owned by Port de Caravella and the Principauté de Caravella-Guatalaga. @feyss @JP Schriefer @mike_oxlong @kschmidt @_Michael @whiteshark365 @vinlabsc3k @kingofsimcity @Urban Constanta @Ln X @raynev1 : Merci! Next to the Container Terminal is also the Cruise Ship Terminal which can accomodate small and medium cruise ships that visit the Principauté de Caravella-Guatalaga on a regular basis. If you like it, let me know!- 7 Comments

The Seaport Re-lot file is based on the stage 3 seaport as saved from the Maxis Lot Editor. I could not save and load either stage 1 or 2. The maximum capacity was realized for stage 1 in-game but no upgrade was automated. There are 2 lots in this zip file. One lot is the seaport at stage 3 as is, and the 2nd lot is the expanded version I made using the Lot Editor. The user interface of both lots report about 50% efficiency, but neither reports any usage of capacity. NO DEPENDENCIES MAXIS SEAPORTS According to the BSC Seaport Controller "If your seaport funding is 100%, and the usage exceeds 95%, the seaports will upgrade on their own." BSC Seaport Development Project Version 3.1 https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1663 However, with the PEG CDK Seaport Controller also installed, no such effect was realized. As well, prior to installing either the BSC or PEG mods, the seaport did not upgrade automatically. Following is a list of resources used in the creation of the preview images: Drunken Water Mods, The Blues and Greys. In HD! PEG CDK3 SP Container Seaport 110 Lighthouse 2x2 Lot Pack 1.0.1 Stanley Seawalls 1.0.0 BSC Ploppable Ships (v1.0) https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2406 Container Carrier 1 PEG CDK3 SP Ploppable Ships Pack 1 1 Authentic Shipping Containers 1.0 Neither of the 2 lots in this zip file replace the in-game stage 1 seaport and will appear in the seaport menu with their own unique icons. The stage 1 seaport should be used as the primary seaport for the purpose of moving freight. The stage 3 lots are intended more for the purpose of creating an active and visually complex seaport. -

FANTA1990 Presents: A new look for the intermodal shipping containers appearing mainly on the Maxis seaport but also on many other custom lots, automata, and props. By definition, the containers are designed to be moved from one mode of transport to another (from ship, to rail, to truck) without unloading and reloading. Thus, with every trip their painted steel exteriors endure repeated assaults from salt water, brake dust, and graffiti. A crucial element that the Maxis textures fail to illustrate. Frankly, the default coloration is more suggestive of Lego blocks or a shattered rubik's cube. Fanta's exhaustive sampling eventually yielded a remarkably authentic texture available in two different color combinations to suit individual tastes. They each replace the cartoon like surfaces with a much more refined HD texture that works with both hardware and software acceleration. Since this is essentially an automata reskin, there are no dependencies and no configuration is required. This mod will boost the authenticity of any loading dock, but is indispensable when absolute realism is paramount. Required (Choose only one): Container Skin-96.dat - Installs a subdued version of the original textures with a visible pattern of wear Container Skin.dat - Installs a more distressed look befitting of dirty industrial zones Optional: Original Container Prop.dat - Includes default container props that are compatible with the above textures Container Prop_dcc5b702.sc4lot - A demonstration lot for use in the Lot Editor *** For the latest updates and other spectacular creations by Fanta Soda, visit his homepage on SimCity China at the following URL: http://www.SimCity.cn/thread-99303-1-1.html Fanta has taken considerable measures to make his site accessible to English speaking users. FANTA1990 Presents: A cosmetic upgrade for the larger of two harbor cranes appearing in the game. Mounted on rails and protruding over the water, these container cranes are primarily associated with, but aren't necessarily limited to high-usage seaports. Traditional cranes manipulate their payload via spooled cable working in conjunction with a pivoting mast. In contrast, Port cranes utilize a fixed cantilever mast to achieve considerably more capacity and stability. As a side effect, the bulky extensions could potentially interfere with each other or adjacent equipment. The industry addresses that problem with two equally viable solutions distinguishable in the game only by minor superficial differences. One adaptation from Cities XL extends and withdraws the mast horizontally on rails positioned above a fixed base (pics 1-3). The other alternative from Red Alert 3 repurposes the hinged mast for limited vertical movement in the absence of a payload (pic 4). Since this is essentially an automata reskin, there are no dependencies and no configuration is required. This mod will boost the authenticity of any port city, but is indispensable when absolute realism is paramount. Required (Choose only one): RA3 SeaportCrane.dat - Uses HD textures, but requires Hardware Acceleration to avoid visual defects. RA3 SeaportCrane-256.dat - May be used with Software Acceleration. CXL SeaportCrane.dat - Uses HD textures, but requires Hardware Acceleration to avoid visual defects. CXL SeaportCrane-256.dat - May be used with Software Acceleration. Optional: \SeaSidePort\*.* - Installing this folder will make the large crane chosen above overwrite the Small Harbor Cranes on the default seaport as well. *** For the latest updates and other spectacular creations by Fanta Soda, visit his homepage on SimCity China at the following URL: http://www.SimCity.cn/thread-99303-1-1.html Fanta has taken considerable measures to make his site accessible to English speaking users. FANTA1990 Presents: A cosmetic upgrade for the smaller of two container cranes appearing in the game. These rail mounted cranes are primarily associated with, but aren't necessarily limited to low-usage seaports. Their versatility and slim stature is ideal when size and weight are important factors. The first alternative, derived from Emergency 4 (aka 911), closely resembles the original, but has much greater detail and genuine signs of wear. The other option from Tropico 4 radiates vibrant colors for maximum visibility in a bustling port environment. Since this is essentially an automata reskin, there are no dependencies and no configuration is required. This mod will boost the authenticity of any port city, but is indispensable when absolute realism is paramount. Choose only one from the following four files: Emergency4 Small Crane.dat - Uses HD textures, but requires Hardware Acceleration to avoid visual defects. Emergency4 Small Crane-256.dat - May be used with Software Acceleration. Tropico4 Small Crane.dat - Uses HD textures, but requires Hardware Acceleration to avoid visual defects. This is a set of container lots for your city. They can be put in industrial zone or in port districts. For added variety there are 21 different lots! Press the HOME button on your keyboard to rotate it for even more variety! That way you can build a whole shipping district. There are many kinds of containers, forklifts and cargo. They are found in the middle of the landmarks menu. The menu icons help to find them easier. They cost nothing to build and make no pollution. The nuclear containers make no radiation. Dependencies are required because they are the props and containers on the lots and if you will not download them you'll have nothing. Container Cities offer an alternative solution to traditional space provision. They are ideal for office and workspace, live-work and key-worker housing. Three landmark lots, 2x3 and 3x3, roughly based on the Container City idea in London, UK. Three landmark lots without jobs: 2x2, 2x2, 2x3. All models are rendered in HD. Most of the dependencies, with perchance the exception of Orange TSC's cars, are common enough to already exist in everyone's SC4 plugins folder. Dependencies: #1 BSC MEGA Props CP Vol01 #2 BSC MEGA Props - Misc Vol02.dat #3 OrangeTSC MegaProp V.01.dat #4 PEG-SPAM_TEXTURES_RESOURCE_b200.dat #5 BSC Textures Vol 01 Thanks go to the Pegasus, BSC, WMP, and Orange TSC for their excellent props and textures. re-Factory lots are also available at the WMP Exchange. Mod Edit: Linked dependencies. -

Of course you may donwload this file, but in fact it has become obsolete. You can find its contents now in the BNL Essentials V2.0 or later. This is my third set of PropFamilies and therefore I called it Set 2. It contains three PropFamilies. I made them especially for my Container terminal lots. FU-Jes_Containerstacks_PropFamily This prop familiy contains Jes' six container stacks. There is already a prop family that contains the 15-containerstack props, but I added the 11-stack to it. This gives more variation on the lots. Dependency for this family: This one you will find on the LEX at SC4Devotion.com. You need to register at the site and additionally to the LEX. BSC MEGA Props - JES Vol07 https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1495 FU_ContainerPortProps1 This prop family contains a variation of props that are to be found on Container terminals. My approach to prop families is slightly different than the usual. Usually a prop family contains props that are closely related, like a set of containers, each with a different colour. In that case you always get a container. This is convenient if you want that. But I wanted as much variation as I could make with a small amount of lots. So I made this prop family that contains empty trucks, containers, container cranes and container carriers. Every placement of the lot gives a different effect. Dependencies for this family: BSC BAT Props - T1 Vol3 https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1764 BSC MEGA Props - JES Vol07 https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1495 BSC MEGA Props - JES Vol08 https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1778 FU_PEG_ContainersShips_PropFamily This prop family contains all seven container ship props by PEG. So the dependency is: PEG CDK3 SP Container Ship Fleet https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=19577 Have fun with them FrankU, 25-05-2010- 3 Comments
