I don't know if this is the same situation but I once had Reader v.1.53b corrupt a .sc4desc file while editing an LTEXT and I suspect it was because of ortographic accentuation (what we call tilde in Spanish, as seen in words like autobús or tranvía)
-
I see, that was indeed not the one I imagined it was, I thought it would be the Pyrenean terrain mod
-
@matias93 I would indeed be glad to help in translating the NAM!!! You can count me in If I'm reading correctly, it would be a matter of editing LTEXT files? Maybe we could coordinate to avoid working redundantly

Un único lugar para encontrar todo el contenido latino/ibérico
Edvarz replied to Edvarz's topic in Simtropolis en Español's Plaza Mayor
Excelente!!! Cuando tenga un poco de tiempo mañana, intentaré explorar la sección para ver como funciona Pensaba que tendría que hacer una mega tabla con información como autor, país, etc, pero las etiquetas harán todo mucho más fácil -
@matias93 Nice!! May I ask what terrain mod you use?

As someone who regularly deals with old content to try and bring it back to the game, I have seen my share of ugly and disfunctional models, and let me just say this is FAR from anything like it. Not only is the model more that fine, but it's been done in such a way that it has a unique look. And it's also been modded to be more than just a regular park or landmark lot, the creator could've easily modeled a normal house that only works in flat terrain, exported it as a park or something instead of messing around with the Reader, and called it a day. And not even then would a "beggars can't be choosers" comment would be warranted because it's a new addition to the game that has been made publicly available for free, despite it very much involving a real person's time and effort.

MAN!!!! I want these buildings so much!!! Amazing job!!!!
-
I don't think there was any mean intention behind that comment. Everyone has their own playstyle and if there's something true about SC4 it's that there is no "one true" way of playing it. It's a never-ending exercise of creativity. I too use grids in my cities for the most part, and have found that unless you have a lot of diagonal buildings, orthogonal grids yield the best looking outcome. But that's just me ofc.
-
Well, yes, indeed it sounds daunting. But I hope you don't get discouraged by it. It would be nice to see more SC4 content on other platforms. Yes! That is also an issue with many SC4 youtube videos Honestly, @Haljackey's are the only ones I watch, and as far as I knew he's the only one uploading new ones (I could do with some recommendations, if you have some). I also watch a lot of Cities Skylines videos since I can't play that game myself and it seems they are quite succesful. It would actually be very nice to have NAM related streams, like, say a masterclass for building a highway, tram or rail system; or maybe custom content showcases. Anything to interest more people in our community

I definitely support more people joining our little community! You can actually change yor Mayor name. Use Ctrl+X to open the cheatbox and type "hellomynameis" followed by you new alias

Descripción en español incluida en la documentación Though this building may look completely european, it is based on the Anthropology Museum from the city of Merida, Mexico. This building can serve an entire city tile and is an enhanced alternative to the Maxis Major Art Museum. It costs more but has more benefits: besides having an effect over sims of all ages (though the effect is greater on older ones) it offers a few civic jobs and no condition has to be met to build it. It doesn’t replace the original museum, so you can have both in your city. You can also build it more than once Stats: Size: 5x3 Monthly cost: §400 maximum Capacity: 36000 visitors CAP* relief: 6000R§§, 6000 §§§ *CAPs are growth limits that the game imposes on cities; they represent the maximum residential, commercial or industrial development a city can have. Lifting each category’s CAPs increases the limit and allows development to continue. Parks, rewards, neighbor connections, among other things provide CAP relief. You can find more detailed information here. Dependencies: Make sure you have all this files installed on your Plugins: *BSC Mega Props DBSSYMN Vol. 1 *BSC Mega Props D66 Vol. 2 *BSC Mega Props CP Vol. 1 *BSC Textures vol 2 *BSC Textures vol 3 LBT Mega Prop Pack * You must be registered at the LEX in SimCity4 Devotion to download. Notes: I did not make the model and do not claim any credit for it, all credit goes to Debussyman. You can alter this lot for personal use and redistribute your modifications (say, if you want to turn it into a mansion or a monument). The modding of this buildings was made using the PIM-X tool, and it was tested in a big city If you run into any issues, or want to see other things I'm working on, pay a visit to my lot thread in Simtropolis, you can also PM me here @Edvarz. If you want to know more about the real building, you can google “Palacio Cantón”, it’s a landmark in the city of Mérida, Yucatan, en México.- 3 Comments

Those tower blocks and wall to wall midrises are perfect for the task, plus, they really make an urban look while still having trees and open spaces!

Kind of, the height transitions are always hard to figure out! but it's otherwise very similar to a T interchange. Originally I planned to build a sunken highway, that's why the canal is so big, but that also made the process a bit easier.

A while ago I built this interchange between a major highway and a boulevard with a canal in the middle. It's one of my favorite builds ever. It serves a big industrial area and also helps with avoiding saturation in a transited avenue further ahead.

You should extract the downloads in your plugins folder and remove images and readmes from that folder, yes. Be careful, do not keep the compressed files in your plugins. What this post is saying is that after reading the readmes and looking at the pictures, you can save those in another location outside of the plugins folder. The images and readmes only, not the mod files. There is also the LEX at SC4Devotion (you need to create an account); Capital SimCity, a spanish site, and some japanese sites, but those are kinda hard to browse. If you are new to downloading content it's best to start slow so that you can control your mods and buildings

I think what that post intended to say is that you shouldn't keep the images (or readme files) in your plugins folder. Those are the files you need to move, they will slow down the loading time and they really don't serve any purpose ingame
