Description: This simple avenue roundabout filler, a 2x2 lot that can be plopped into the center of an avenue roundabout like any other roundabout filler, is designed after the NAM Logo, and as such, it is a tribute to arguably one of the the greatest and most important SC4 mods of all time. It can be found in the park menu. Dependencies: BSC Mega Props - SG Vol01: Required for the bushes and rosebeds. http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=746 Note: You must be registered at sc4devotion.com to download the dependencies mentioned above. Installation: Move or copy the folder in this archive into the Plugins folder of your edition of SimCity 4. To uninstall, bulldoze all existing roundabout fillers from this plugin and remove all of its corresponding files from your Plugins folder. Compatibility: This plugin itself should be compatible with all versions of SimCity 4; if not, please report. However, it is thought to be used in conjunction with the Network Addon Mod, and the NAM is only compatible with Cim City 4 Rush Hour or SimCity Deluxe.

These ancient ruins were made by someone deep in the well of time. There are many speculations as to its function, some say that human sacrifice were made within its stony walls and others say that it is an astronomical tool built to follow the stars. Today it stands there, solitary and well maintained by the current city staff, while traffic from a bustling metropolis moves by it. Sometimes people that identify with the ancients, conduct ceremonies there. Generations go by and the stones just sit there, unchanged, immutable and immortal. This Roundabout will replace the one that comes with the NAM avenue, just bulldoze the fountain in the middle and plop this and you are done. It will provide a small residential CAP relief. Requires no power, just a little water to keep the grass green. And its good for the environment due to the park effect. All you need is in this little package and one dependency and that is... 5. I installed NAM version 35 a couple of days ago, and works flawlessly, with little to no problems. However, it seems to be doing something with my roundabouts: the avenue, one-way, and regular road roundabouts seem to completely disappear, and I usually have to bulldoze the whole thing and attempt to rebuild it, with rudimentary results. This is a serious concern for me, as some of my cities are saturated with roundabouts. I've included a photo below for reference. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

  7. Welcome back to Petal, today we are exploring to the major shopping area, west of the roundabout full of some of the best shopping in the area. Home of some of the large box stores, grocery stores, and restaurants , such as Walmart, Kohl's, Target, Winn-Dixie, Starbucks, and more! So let's hop in our cars, and drive to the latest place to shop in the Parish! As we start off; we start at the roundabout, where we will take the western way to the shopping, and more! Starting with a Winn-Dixie, Best Buy, and a McDonald's, the Winn-Dixie gives this town the southern feel that we preserve; and with the low, low prices; Keep the people happy with the freshest produce and meat, while across the street you can go buy that new computer to play Simcity 4! Going a bit more west, you come to the only Holiday Inn in the city; the original Holiday Inn was torn down in 1993 to build this; and the original was built in the 1960s with one of those big Great Signs of Holiday Inn, now it's a modern lodging area to provide all with comfortable lodging, and attempt to compete against the hotels in downtown like Holiday Park, and the other hotels on this part of the avenue. As well, is a simple Chevrolet dealership, with new cars and great service; the Petal Chevrolet dealership which has been in business since 1928, will service you till your happy! Like any other city, Walmart's store here is always packed, and with everything you need in a modern Walmart; that replaced the original one in 2015, it as well features Subway inside for a perfect stop for a sub, while shopping for your groceries, clothes, or anything really! Of course, there is non-shopping to; we have a Chuck E Cheese's and a Starbucks near the Holiday Inn, with a Rite Aid pharmacy, all in one intersection! There also, is a old Motorola office building for Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, and the Alabama region to provide quick customer service and offices for those in the company or buying their products. Don't like Walmart? There is a Kohl's near the Days Inn and the Hampton Inn, to get you your discount clothing. Or if you want to go to the end of the shopping experience, is a Sam's Club, Lowe's or a Target. Notice the farms, and railroad; tells you the sense and the fast transition from city-suburb, to farms and rural. It really is a unique sight to see, and a characteristic of the city. Right off the avenue, sits a strip mall with a Arby's, Dollar General, and other small stores and a Home Depot, right in the suburban heart but not even a minute away from the avenue. To give you the sense of the shopping area's size, we couldn't even cover it in one photo from the end at the Roundabout! Show's how big it really is! We will see you next time here at Saint Clements Parish!
  8. Hi all. I downloaded NAM 35 yesterday and have been using it extensively since and I am very pleased with the upgrades, fixes, and new content. Hats off to the NAM team for all their hard work! I have one issue though regarding the MHW/Project Symphony; I found that the 2 level roundabout for the MHW does not connect on the right side to the L2. It connects fine on the left side and at the L0 network but it will not plop onto the intersection like the 3 level or the T-Junction nor can I drag the highway either to nor away from the roundabout. No matter what I do it simply will not connect on that side. After playing with it for quite a while I found that if I strip back the L2 and plop the roundabout on top of the L0 and then delete it by single clicking with the bulldozer on the very bottom edge (not by highlighting the entire roundabout) it will leave behind a small segment of L2 on the right side which I can then connect my highway to and THEN I can drop the roundabout in place and it works fine. I was wondering if this is somehow the bridge connector piece for MHW to RHW 4 but, even when I tried to use that piece from the menu it still didn't work. This is the only way I could make it connect. This was done on perfectly level terrain in a fresh new test city. Did I completely miss something here?

  15. Roundabout Filler (S3-06-C)

Results Announced Here! Roundabout Filler Create a Lot designed to accompany a roundabout Season 3 - Challenge #06 - Custom Content (31 days) Thanks to @kingofsimcity for the challenge idea. The Lotting Challenge is half way completed, and it's already time to introduce the next Custom Content Challenge... Roundabouts are primarily designed with functionality in mind. They're supposed to help the flow of traffic, improve safety, and reduce congestion compared to a normal road intersection. In SimCity 4, roundabouts have been made possible thanks to the NAM. It's a simple case of plop, connect and drive your Sims into a spin! However, there is also an aesthetic element to roundabouts. Fillers can occupy the empty space in the middle, and greatly enhance the otherwise boring appearance. This filler could be anything really -- from a simple plantation of trees, to a monument surrounded by fountains. For this challenge, we're looking for you to create a 2x2 Lot, which functions as an avenue roundabout filler. Of course, the obvious tool of choice would be the Lot Editor by Maxis. However, an alternative would be to use the PIM-X, which includes its own advanced editor for creating lots. This can be downloaded from the LEX, and there's also a user guide linked in the description. The choice is yours, and it's really what you feel most comfortable with. You may use any combination of models, props, textures or techniques to produce the desired result. If you'd like, you may also create your own dependencies, or even a specially made BAT to be used as the filler. This however is strictly optional, and not the focus of this challenge. Once completed, a screenshot should be taken showing the Lot built in the game. Daytime is preferable for this, unless your Lot contains dominant night lighting effects that you'd like to present. Specifications The Lot must be 2x2 in size, allowing it to fit in the middle of a roundabout. Overhanging props or similar techniques may be used to fill the gaps (since the Lot is square). Or if you'd like, a building (BAT) can be used to fill the entire lot on its own. Dependencies (buildings, textures, props) are not a requirement, but are highly recommended to give added detail. Any number of dependencies can be used, which are available to download from a public exchange (e.g. STEX, LEX). See the Possible Ideas section below for a few possible examples of roundabout fillers. This Custom Content challenge will run for 31 days. Requirements To qualify for entry, please ensure your entry complies with the following requirements: This challenge is only open to SimCity 4 Deluxe / Rush Hour. The Lot must be an original piece of content (created by yourself), and not previously released on the STEX or other public exchange. You must create a single, standalone 2x2 Lot. OR Separate lots which add up to the total area of 2x2 (i.e. they are modular). For example, two 1x2 Lots, or four 1x1 Lots. The Lot is created using the Lot Editor or SC4 PIM (X-Tool). The Lot is ploppable (a growable version may be included, but this isn't a requirement). Possible Ideas Here are a few ideas to get you started, just giving examples of ways to go about this challenge: Note: The following is not a complete list, or a requirement: Flower garden / display Plantation of trees or any flora Monument / memorial Sculpture / statue Flag display Model display (e.g. vehicle, aircraft) Fountain or other water feature Artwork / graffiti Billboard / advertising display Construction zone Walls or fences Pedestrian function (island, bridge, tunnel?) Subway / transit access point A utility building (e.g. power, water) A disused or derelict structure Something amusing... Leaderboard Rankings A new leaderboard system is currently running for this season. This has been designed to incorporate all challenges, linking with each set of results. Each place in a challenge has points on offer -- the higher you finish, the more points you gain. Then at the end of the season, prizes will be given out to the top 10 in the final standings, with the winner being crowned the Grand Champion! This Custom Content challenge is eligible for the "Overall" and "Monthly & Custom Content" leaderboards. Full details and the current standings can be viewed in the following topic: The winners will be the top 3 ranked images. Reputation prizes will be awarded based on the number of entries, and the overall average rating. See this topic for more info. For this Custom Content challenge, rep prizes will be distributed slightly differently. This time the top 5 placed entries will earn reputation, along with points for the "Overall" and "Monthly & Custom Content" leaderboards. As this is a longer challenge, the amount of rep and points will be greater. After the challenge has concluded and the winners announced, all submissions will be made available for the community to enjoy. Please post below if you have any questions. This thread can also be used as a way to showcase the development of your creations. Good luck to all, let the filling begin!

Avenue Roundabout Fillers This package contains four avenue roundabout fillers for use in the middle of avenue roundabouts. Six lots are available to choose from. Note that you must plop the avenue roundabout first, demolish the middle four tiles then build the roundabout filler in the middle of the roundabout. Pedestrian Underpass Stinking and humid, this pedestrian underpass should have been closed down a long time ago, as this place is mostly just used as a hangout for hoodlums, criminals and bums. Fountain This fountain has huge oversized gold and silver coins at the bottom of the fountain. The fountain walls and bottom are all covered in beautiful mosaic patterns. Generic These are just your average roundabout pieces, nothing special about them, and can be used anywhere and everywhere from downtown areas to suburbs. There are 2 different versions. Nowadays, they have somewhat lost their importance, but sometimes a windmill can get an important landmark reminding your Sims of the past or creating some kind of identity. Therefore, this Dutch windmill, originally created by oppie and unfortunately only released on the German forum of SimCity 4, has been re-lotted to become a filler for the large avenue roundabout. I re-worked the Traffic Control Center and added 6 more 2x2 Park Menu lots that can be used in the the NAM avenue roundabout. There are 3 more 'Control Tower' themed lots, and 3 different park lots, one is an amusement type using the Maxis Tilt-a-Whirl ride, one a forested rest-place with a gazebo, and the other a decorative grassy park. All the lots use Maxis props and lighting, and have unique Park Menu icons. All lots have the same stats: Park Effect: 10 over 10, Landmark Effect: 20 over 10. Power Consumed: 20 MWh, Water: 10 gph. Monthly Cost: 50§ Minimal water and air pollution. The landmark effect is a bit higher as they are feature parks, the 'Control Tower' lots having an imaginary civic function in controlling city traffic. The roundabouts are part of the Network Addon Mod (NAM) which is specialized for transit and traffic networks, but the lots are stand-alone and can be used separately as park lots. If using the NAM bulldoze the default lot in the center of the avenue roundabout and plop one of the 2x2 lots. Any 2x2 lot can be used. Dependencies: bldgprop_vol1.dat The dependency file is located on SimCity 4 Devotion (SC4D) on the following linked page: Maxis Lot Editor (LE) Tool and Addons Alternatively, the file below may be used instead of bldgprop_vol1.dat. It is a better option as it combines access to all the Maxis buildings as props and adds a better hover query showing the lot name. The above dependencies must be installed in your game application Plugin folder. To Install this package: Place the 'Roundabout Variety Pack Lots' folder in the zipfile to the 'SimCity 4\Pulgins' folder in user 'Documents'.

By way of a "Thank You" gift, we'd like to send you our STEX Collector's DVD. It's some of the best buildings, lots, maps and mods collected for you over the years. Check out the STEX Collections for more info.

Each donation helps keep Simtropolis online, open and free!

Thank you for reading and enjoy the site!
