  1. Can't find it?... Ask here!

Where can I get the walls that sorround the power plant? Thanks!
  2. Where do you find this in the menus? I've searched all over and I can't find it for some reason.
  3. Can't find it?... Ask here!

I couldn't get closer look to the river wall, but since it looks like Parisian style, I will guess "JENXPARIS Quais de Seine". You can get it here http://sc4devotion.c...hp?lotGET=2774. I am interested to the square building with blue roof, next to the bridge (on the north island), what building is that? and where can I get it? Thank a ton! That picture actually isn't mine, so I'm not sure what that building is.
  4. Can't find it?... Ask here!

I changed computers and instead of transferring all my mods from the old one, I'm re-downloading just the ones I know I want (which is tedious but worth it). Anyway, I'm trying to find these seaside things but I can't for the life of my remember what they're called so I don't know how to search for them - they're the things that make sea/riversides look more urban and real, like in this picture: Thanks a lot!
  5. nybt NYBT Two Bridges Shops

Wait, it's BAD that there isn't a Starbucks? That's a GOOD thing. Great mod, by the way.
  6. Logan Arms

    Yes!
  7. The Skyscrapers of Mankato

Mankato is no Manhattan, yet it has a small collection of noted skyscrapers. The city is known for its relative density, compared to its population, and this is in large part to its downtown, whose "main street" style three- to five-story buildings still house apartments and businesses, and are relatively free of abandonement. The Edgerson State Building and Judicial Center, named after Thomas Edgerson, mayor of Mankato from 1892-1898, houses the city's courthouse, city council, and numerous other government offices. (The historic city hall, which will be featured soon, houses a small amount of the offices of the Mayor, but is also largely a museum. The majority of work is done in "the Edge," as it is sometimes referred to.) It also houses the main headquarters for the Mankato Public School System, as well as KMAN, Mankato's public radio station, which explains the large antennae. It was built in 1929, finished weeks before the stock market crash, and became the tallest building in Mankato, and remained that way until 1962, when the Thompson Tower, now the ITM Tower, replaced it. The 20-story ITM Tower, built in 1962, became the tallest building in Mankato at 255 feet upon its completion. It was one of the first buildings in the Midwest to reflect the International Style, and became a model of functionalism. It originally housed offices, its largest tenant being the Bank of Southern Minnesota, now defunct. In 1983, it was bought by the ITM Company, and made its world headquarters. The ITM Company is a company that specializes in "business solutions." Nobody knows what ITM stands for. In its rear plaza, the New Memorial Column was built in 2001 as a memorial for the Native Americans that originally inhabited the area Mankato now stands on. On the left is the 24-story Bell Insurance Tower. Built just four years after the ITM Tower, in 1966, it became the tallest building in Mankato at 295 feet. It currently houses the Bell Insurance company. The Guise Building, built in 1986, is 230 feet tall and has 17 stories. It was named after Ethel Guise, the daughter of late-19th century millionare Leonard Guise, upon her death in 1981.
  8. Downtown Mankato Overview

Thanks - for the Regal Theater, see here: https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=16513
  9. Memorial Column

Memorial Column, the centerpiece of West Village, is a 234 feet tall column built in 1896 to memorialize citizens - particularly Minnesotans - who had died in the conflicts - American Revolution, Civil War, Spanish-American War, etc. - that had preceeded the building of this monument. Until 1929, when the Edgerson State Building & Judicial Center was completed, it was the tallest structure in Mankato. The statue at the top of the column is an allegorical statue of Peace, made out of bronze. Its placement in a residential neighborhood was controversial at the time, but was defended because it was located at the near geographic center of the city. Legendary Mankato mayor and future Senator Thomas Edgerson (of whom the Edgerson State Building is named after) also claimed he wanted the monument to be "for the people," and not something that only politicians could look out the window and see.
  10. Downtown Mankato Overview

Here is an overview of central Downtown Mankato, as well as, in the top third of the picture, a part of West Village, a historical row-house filled neighborhood just bordering Downtown. Over the next few entires, I'll focus on each of these buildings and tell you a little about them. (Note: Sorry about the lack of cars, I was having some trouble, but for future entries, the traffic should be back up to a decent level.)

    Thanks so much, everyone!
  12. Introduction

Hi, and thanks for checking out my city journal! Before I start, I want to thank the ST & SC4D community for all their support and AMAZING mods. Disclaimer: First of all, this city is made using entirely unlimited money, ploppable cheats, etc., etc. Second of all, this city journal does not seek to glorify or advocate Socialism, and defenitely does not endorse the crimes committed throughout history done in the name of Socialism. It does, however, seek to show an angle you may not have seen in a CJ, and simply to have fun with a "what if" scenario. Please keep the comments related to SC4/architecture/transportation/whatever - just not politics. Third of all, this Mankato, Minnesota bares no relation to the real Mankato, Minesotta (pop. 85,712), except its name and general location as inspiration. Thanks! Please comment! Thanks!
  13. New York Dutch Church

Yes, in-game pic would be fantastic.
  14. SC4 Extra Cheats DLL

Since the first post is virtually void of information, is it true that there's a feature on this where you can plop all the residential buildings? And if so, how do I do this?
  15. Consolidated Edison Building

Could be improved on - the lot is a bit awkward with all the open space behind it, and it's a bit textureless, with little of the great details it has, like that... THING that's on top of the tower. Still, I like it.
  16. Show us your city, road or transit maps!

Jacobquote> That's amazing - do you do this with photoshop or something else? It would be amazing if there was a tutorial for this stuff. I've taken to attempt to use Google sketchup as my map creator, since it allows for easy shape creation and you can move them around easily, but I haven't got very far yet. Does anyone know if there's a site out there dedicated to this kind of stuff?
  17. Delaware, Southside & Church

This is fantastic - I see you used the rowhouses from Troy, NY. I assumed you plopped those? I've downloaded them but the plugin manager has been acting up, and I can't for the life of me convert them to poppables. Assuming you did plop them, would it be too much trouble uploading the ploppable files for me via a downloading site or something like that? I complete understand if you don't want to because you've probably get plenty of better things to do, so please don't think this is a demand or anything, but if you don't mind, that would be amazing. Thanks so much! Amazing CJ, by the way!

Any day with a nofunk release is a good day.

Grand Central Terminal w/ Elevated Road Additional Images: 1 | 2 | 3 | I also have a book with loads of additional images of the Park Ave. elevation that I can easily scan, so if somebody wants more images, feel free to PM me. Description: Although nobody questions Maxis's decision to put the beautiful, monumental Grand Central in the game - and perhaps this is the landmark they did the best on in terms of detail and feel - they forgot a key component: how the elevated Park Avenue goes into Grand Central's "second level" and careems around it, before going into the Helmsley Building and, eventually, returning to the ground. Ideally, in SimCity terms, someone would construct a simple addition to the building in the front and back that connected to the elevated road already around the building that allows it to be connected to the NAM elevated roads. It probably wouldn't make much sense to include the MetLife building in back of Grand Central in this mod to give users the most flexibility, but if someone wants to do it in addition, hey, go ahead! I don't know how easy it is to make the road around the building itself to be transit-enabled, but even if that's impossible, the eye-candy would still make it a great addition. Grand Central itself also need not be transit enabled in terms of railroads, but again, if someone wants to do it, I'm not stopping them. Aerial view in Google Maps Why this would be benificial for the game or community: SimCity, with the help of the NAM team and the Simtropolis community at large, has created the unique ability to truly integrate transportation into a city-builder. On the other end of the spectrum, we have beautiful buildings being created every day - so why not combine the two? This would give users more control over road use in their city, especially elevated roads, while at the same time having a great landmark in their city! Grand Central is one of New York's most beautiful landmarks, and this added realism would make any city complete. I'd be happy to do some research or help in any way with the project if anyone so desires, since I'd love to see this happen. Thanks a lot!
  20. Downtown Fire Department

Are there any dependencies you haven't mentioned? I can't see the building, just the props.
  21. Woodworks Square Pack

These look graeat, but... that's a helluva lotta dependencies there. Maybe next time try to cut down on the dependencies so more people will download it, because not everyone wants to take the time to download 'em all - though the fact that you linked to them is good. I'll try them out!
  22. NDEX Underground Motorways Part 1

What's that building on the right in the picture?
  23. Communist Monument

The hammer and sickle is usually used for communism, but isn't always associated with it, it can be used to symbolize just socialism, sans communism.
  24. I've had this exact same problem as well - how do you check the wealth property? And what would I do to fix it?
  25. Grids make a city real?

If SimCity didn't force you to make grids - and Cities XL wasn't so stingy about building width, forcing you to make awkward roads if you want them to curve - I would love to make those windy, nonsensical European streets, but grid-plans, New York and Philadelphia (whose streets I'm pretty sure were partly designed by William Penn himself) being the most famous. My city, Columbus, Ohio, is strange in that it's quite no-grid like, especially for an American city. The avenues and streets are inconsistent and only go up to 20 or so, the east-west streets don't go completely parallel across the main street, High Street, and the north-south streets are as equally random. Also keep in mind that for European cities, planners like Haussman didn't necessarily want grids - Haussman built huge parallel avenues, but also diagonal ones that cut into the old windy streets, and the avenues aren't completely regular with each others either. It's just a different philosophy - though the lack of planning also has to do with it, proof of that is downtown Manhattan, which existed before they instituted the huge street plan.
