As someone from the UK, the Online Safety Act is ridiculous. Guised as protecting the children in order to strip away our rights and privacies. I've always found that the forum here is a very positive, friendly, old-internet space. I am very concerned with the way the rest of the web is going. Thank you for the heads up! @rsc204 I'm currently using WWS WestWind Streets mod. I had a few issues prior with the Cul-De-Sacs that have now thankfully been rectified. -

Hey all, Just a quick question on MGB - No Grass NAM (NGN). When I intall this mod, it works correctly with the sidewalks having no grass, however it overrides my custom street textures. Is this an issue of mod load order, or something else? Thanks! -

Hey all, I'm having some troubles with my automata, as most of the vehicles disappear after a second or two. When I installed NAM 49 I selected: NetworkAddonMod_Automata_Plugin_Automata24_Persist Would the Persistant Automata Mod be more effective as an Automata controller? Thanks! -

Hey all! I have a few quick queries relating to some street texture mods and NAM. I have recently downloaded the WWS WestWind Streets Mod alongside NAM 49. I have an issue with the Cul-De-Sacs with the WWS Street Cul-De-Sacs (For reference, I am utilising EU textures for the NAM). I am wondering if it is a file overlap or a texture overlap issue? Also, is the NAM Euro Cosmetic Re-Texture Mod still compatible with NAM 49? I am aiming for a UK/EU look for my playthrough. Photos below for reference: -

I always make yearly returns here because of how friendly the site is. I've been here just over ten years now and my Simcity4 has been a constantly evolving project over that time. It was only this year that I actually fixed a lot of longstanding performance issues which has given me a new motivation to finish an old region.

Questions on NAM 49 and Euro Retextures [Solved]

Hello All! I have a couple of questions regarding NAM 49 and downloading Euro retextures. I have recently returned to Simtropolis and have updated from NAM 36 to NAM 49. unfortunately, my past self had left a jumbled mess in terms of old downloaded textures for EU NAM. Does NAM automatically include Euro textures and SAM euro textures as a part of the newest version? If this is not the case, then would anyone be of any help in directing myself toward where I can find euro retextures? I also wondered if any of the old MGB Retextures were still compatible with current NAM, such as the SAM retextures? Thank you for reading! -

What a fantastic dll mod! I have a quick question regarding the Slope Mod supplemental file that is included. If I have downloaded the Network Addon Mod - Tunnel and Slope Mod, can I remove this file from the supplemental files and the slope mod included in NAM 49?

Hey all! I have been back and forth here over the last few months keeping up with some of the new DLL mod breakthroughs such as submenus and themore building styles plugin DLL. Since the recent 3D Camera mod came out on April Fools, I have been blown away by some of the photographs that people have been uploading. (I actually commented after I figured out that it was, in fact, not an April Fools joke!) I never thought I would see this sort of movement in the community, especially after the old 3D camera April Fools joke and the countless conversations about the chances of an update for the game from EA. Not only have I seen news stories about us as a community, but I have seen more activity here and on Reddit. It gives me much hope for the community going forth, and the fact that the game remains timeless after 20 years. I therefore thought I should create a thread asking people what sort of DLL breakthroughs they would hope to see, or maybe people's viewpoints on an OpenSC4 going forwards? I think its a great question to revisit after memo's and other's work. Another question that I have is where will these breakthroughs take us? I understand that the 3D Camera mod is in its infancy, but have these DLL mods enabled more of the games inner code to be studied? I am in the loop somewhat, and at the same time understand little about coding. I however am very intrigued over the future of the 3D camera mod and the more building styles as both of these have the ability to really open up the game for future BATs and an ease of access for new members. I would love to hear what others in the community think of future DLL breakthroughs, or how this may change the community?

I would love to know what other plans they had with the data menus, I always loved the pie charts and menus in SC3000. New data views would be an amazing thing for SC4. I've actually wondered if its possible to contact old devs from SC4? Would they be able to give a definitive answer on what was planned after Rush Hour before we got nothing else? Just something I had thought about from reading the thread and wondering if that jump to 64 would allow new data views to be placed into the files. -

Hey all! Just a quick Query about the BSC Essentials pack over on SC4Evermore. I am in the process today of locating missing dependencies with BSCcleanitol. I'm still figuring the software out, with varying success. With updated packs, I have some of the original packs, dating back to 2005/2007. I am always afraid of deleting files, what with my plugins being relatively old. Can I delete the older packs without issue? as well as this, I have the BSC Essentials v.2023 and also the BSC Essentials OG. Do I need both in my root Plugins folder? For Reference:

Thank you for such a detailed response. I think it helps me to read this and understand that these dll mods just unlock what was already set by the developers. I think definitely its important to look at where the recent mods will take the community, but as you have said they won't ever enable features that a modern game has without a rewrite that could potentially backfire and involve a lawsuit. Despite this, I think the biggest thing for myself is that these mods have got people talking and reinvested in the franchise, which in its own way has to have a discussion about the future I'm sure.
