  1. Gran Torre Santiago

It's Christmas in June!!!! FOUR Diego Del Llano buildings in one day!!! I think this is the first chilean skyscraper ever made for SC4, and it is truly beautiful. The lights man, those lights are something else!!
  2. Can't find it?... Ask here!

    Those would be Maloskero's creations.
  3. Show us What you're Working On

In my opinion, there is always use for urban parking lots for those who don't want to waste hundreds of tiles creating an american styled one. I would certainly find use for it, I´ve been using the same sets over and over in all my cities
  4. Travelodge Hotel Sydney

Awesome! It's so generic it can blend in anywhere, but it still adds a lot of visual interest. Thanks!
  5. I am deeply fascinated with this Mexico City mass transit map. Knowing this monster of a city, it couldn't have been an easy thing to design. :O

  6. Notre Dame in Paris is on Fire!

Well, you are right about al those points. I even read that the guy who oversaw the restoration in the nineteenth century included himself among the stautes of the apostles, so that one may be a good riddance. It'll be interesting to see what will be done about the spire. Is it better to reconstruct it? Does the fact that it wasn't part of the original medieval design make it apocryphous? Should the reconstruction bring Notre Dame back to it's medieval roots? Or do elements like these become an integral part of the artwork? There will surely be a debate among art historians, architects, the public, etc. Still, other than the architectural aspects themselves, I worry about the loss of artwork and historical documents that may have been housed inside.
  7. Notre Dame in Paris is on Fire!

I've read that both the towers and the overall structure are safe and the fire has been controlled. I'm not an architect but I suspect the fact that the main supporting structures are outside may have helped Notre Dame resist. Still, who knows what documents or artifacts may have been lost in the parts that were consumed. Maybe there's solace in the thought that it could have been waay worse.
  8. Thank you very much!! I also find the "education by age graph kind of useless, this one will serve me better.
  9. Hello! So, I have a little project that I want to release to the STEX; it's a museum that I want as a substitute for the Maxis Major Art Museum. I've looked at it in Reader and it lacks some properties to work like the Maxis counterpart, like the ability to provide CAP relief and Park effect, as it stands now, it works like a regular musem. If I use Reader to copy the properties from the original Maxis exemplar and paste them in my museum, will it work without any problem? Thanks in advance!
  10. Modding reward buildings

Ahh, I see, I use version 1.54 but I'll switch to v093 for this touchy procedures. And thanks for the info and the useful tip! In the end, losing the lot wasn't so bad, I had taken screenshots so it wasn't hard to recreate it; it's already done in fact.
  11. Sometimes large commercial buildings develop and can throw the demand off balance for a bit, maybe this is the case? Cori's recommendation is a good one, the Census repository is a very very useful tool for helping healthy city growth. BTW!! @CorinaMarie You made this a bar graph!!! Neat!! I wish there was a way one could switch between line and bar graphs in game, both are useful in their own way.
  12. Modding reward buildings

So... I don't know what happened but Reader decided to wipe out the lot exemplar and a Parent Cohort exemplar appeared instead, corrupting the whole SC4.Lot file in the process; PIM-X even refused to load with the file in my plugins folder. I deleted the Parent Cohort thing and it's back to normal but the lotting is gone and I didn't make a backup so I'll have to do it all again. May this be a lesson...
  13. Terring's Terrible Lots

I myself had thought about doing just this. It would be a very useful set of lots, altough maybe you can make a couple of pieces without lightposts for those of us who use light replacement mods
  14. Modding reward buildings

@matias93 Ah yes, In fact I wanted to replicate what he's done with his many civic buildings. @mattb325 Thanks! That is essentially what I want to do, indeed I used the museum template in PIM-X. So I'll just raise the EQ boost to match that of the maxis museum, and cross check the properties
  15. Can't find it?... Ask here!

Hello! Does anyone know where I can find this building?
  17. Central Park Corporativo

Dude, compa, without you, my skyline would be veery very different (Or it wouldn't exist at all). Please never stop making awesome BATs!!
  18. @matias93 He was jammin' a little too hard. Also, this is a great musical discovery for me, I wish I had known about this ensemble when they played in Mexico two years ago. I wasn't really listening to this, but Matias' recommendation put me in the mood for some more jazz. This hidden gem is one of my favorites:
  19. Why have a rating sistem anyway, it's not like you're spending money on anything to justify such a thing. If you don't like something, don't download it; If you think you can make it better, the tools to do so are readily avaliable; and lastly If you have an opinion, that is entirely welcome, leave it in the comments box and be polite about it. People don't get paid for this, by you or anyone; it's their free time they're spending on making time consuming projects. Again, nothing in the STEX is made by a professional game company, receiving big annual income; it's some dude using their own free time so they can share something they are passionate about with the community. So, american consumer manners don't apply here.
  21. Save Warning

Oh wow, I didn't know I needed this but I deeefinitely do. I know about the corruption issue but I am so clumsy that accidentally clicking the 'Save and Exit' button it's more than probable. Thanks!!!!
  22. Show us What you're Working On

Looks fantastic!! I don't normally download heavy industry buildings but I gotta have this one, feels right at home with the style of my cities. Actually it reminds me of a massive Cemex plant I used to pass by on my way back from high school
  23. Hotel RIU Plaza Guadalajara

  25. Bad news: My hard disk seems to be having some trouble and it's likely to die

Good news: I managed to back all my Plugins and Lot Editor projects up before the inevitable happens. Phew!

Time to get a new hard disk, I guess

    1. matias93

      matias93

If you have some idea of where on the disk the issues are, you can partition it avoiding those sectors and extend its lifespan. I've done it and the disks have been worked for years after that.

Oh, I'm afraid it wasn't a bad sector, I did a scan with the chkdsk command and it turned out nothing, so it's a hardware issue.

It actually lasted seven years withouth any kind of failing
