My first upload ever This is a mod I made quite a long time ago. I had been playing it for several months, until I noticed that it is really nice – so nice, that I just can’t go on keeping it for my own usage only. So today I share it with you and hope that you’ll find it nice as well. The mod contains more than 1100 relotted Maxis lots – residential and commercial of all stages with seasonal trees insted of Maxis flora. Not only flora was replaced – for some of lots I changed textures, so that they look smooth when base-texture replacement plugin from Sudden Valley TM is used. I also decreased the number of lights on some lots, to make them less overlighted with using the Light Replacement mods, and made some other minor changes like adding crowds and beautiful fences. Installation: Copy the PaulSawyer folder into the Plugins folder. If you want to use the CAM version, you must only copy the CAM folder. The seasonal trees will appear on new growing lots. The lots that grew before the installation will stay unchanged, so you’ll have to choose whether to demolish them or to wait until they eventually get rebuilt. Compatibility: I wouldn’t recommend you to use it along with other mods that contain Maxis lots with same names – like pc whiz24’s Realism Mods and others, since the files may interrupt with each other and the mods will not work correctly. Dependencies: Surely, first of all you’ll need the trees: BSC MEGA Props CP Vol01 BSC MEGA Props CP Vol 02 BSC - VIP girafe common spruces Optional: These are packs you should have if you want to see fences on some R$$$ lots. There are very few of them though (something like 3 or 4…) so if you haven’t got them – don’t bother, it will look good without them. A while ago I played with a huge region, in which I managed to build a lot of highways with cool interchanges. Several days ago I stumbled upon it while browsing my region folder; the original plugin pack was lost somewhere, so a lot of textures and props are missing, but the interchanges are intact, so I thought why not sharing them?

City tiles thumbnails aren't being saved after transition to Windows 8.1

Hello. It happened so that for a long time I've been playing SC4 Deluxe Ed. on Win 8 (x64) and only recently did I upgrade to Win 8.1. Now, the process went smoothly, everything works fine, the game starts, plays, saves and exits except for one thing - the thumbnails of city tiles are not being saved anymore. The cities themselves work fine, it's just the prospect of having the whole region like a dead green bedsheet that annoys me a little. I play using SC4Launcher in windowed mode on DirectX with 1280x768 resolution; tried to change the settings there (resolution, render mode, window mode) - didn't help. Also tried reinstalling the game and updating NVIDIA drivers - no results either. Has anyone ever experienced something like this or got some idea on how to handle it?- 9 Replies

How funny these things sometimes are: you tinker around with settings, updates and reinstalls, dig into geek forums, brainstorm intensely, when the actual solution for the problem is pure and simple - run it in Compatibility Mode for Windows XP SP3. Thank you guys, but I'm well aware of this moment and it's not the case here. Didn't help The program doesn't like my current region (too wide) so I looked the affected tiles up in Reader - they do have a PNG of a flat plate and some other empty PNGs, but no pictures of actual tiles It is overall in the game from what I see. I did some testing and nothing is quite clear to me so far. It seems to not happen in plain vanilla, and with mods it seems to depend on the size of the tiles - once it gets over something like 3.5 Mb it is unable to configure a PNG. I don't know, I guess I'll have to play around with it more later. P.S. By the way, I'm unable to open some city tiles in Reader... Should I worry?- 9 Replies

Hello. Great mod, but I'm having a slight problem: for some bizarre reason palms on streets and roads are not affected at all, they remain all maxis. I tried this mod alone without any other plugins and the problem stayed. Is this something to do with the mod itself, or something wrong with the game? Update. I did some more tests and found out two things: 1) The clean install I told about earlier wasn't really clean - my bad; 2) it looks like Cascadia Tree Controller was the cause of the problem - it loaded before the mod and caused conflicts with it in some way (I'm not savvy in that matter). I changed the order of the folders so that the tree replacer comes after the CTC and everything works perfectly. So, the problem solved. Thank you for the mod!

As I've written in the description, this mod and pc wiz's mod use lots with same names. It means that if you put them both in your plugins folder, it won't cause any catastrophy, but there will work only one of the mods - which was put last, and the other will be blocked. So, we can say that they are uncompatible.- 50 Comments

I didn't modify them in PIM-X, so - no, this mod is unCAMpatible. Sorry :) Unfortunatly the trees on same lots do not vary, so yes, you may very often see the whole block with same style of green plantations... I guess creating prop families and putting them insted just props might solve this, but I don't how to create prop families. No, this pack contains only growables. I'm going to share some buildings (including civics) a bit later.- 50 Comments

Quick answers I guess I am %) And I agree that it was quite rude of me not to share it. The whole work took me something like 2 weeks. Not too long, but it was really diffiicult to deal with every single lot. Frankly speaking I'm not sure how to do it :) I tried to put each group in a pack, but it didn't do much to the size of the whole mod. May be there's something I don't know? That's a good idea, thank you for hitting! No, I didn't do any changes to industrial lots since they don't have a lot of trees and furthermore there are some good mods for industy existing already, like PEG's SPAM and TWreck's Industrial Revolution. And thanks to all for your comments so far!- 50 Comments

Looks very bright and natural! By the way, your previous entry inspired me and I started changing all the trees on all the Maxis lots into seasonal ones! I think I'll post an entry about it in my Notes CJ soon to describe some more details, and I also think about sharing it here on the STEX. Just letting you know, if you're interested :) -
Very bright, historical and original. I espacially love the surrounding area, all those fields bordered by trees - something I've always been trying to do in my cities but not always managed to do it in a proper way. Here it's done really perfectly!

I had the same idea not so long ago, but when I started deleting all the trees on all the lots I understood, that it was going to take a good half of week, so better to leave this intention :) I think, anyway, it would be great if someone made a mod changing all the maxis trees into seasonal ones. But it is surely much more timeconsuming than simple deleting so... -

I really like this one! Great idea of making walls, separating the town from beach, looks very originally.
