  1. mipro mipro

Thanks! Glad you're enjoying our BATs! So mipro is exclusively for Michigan projects. I will, of course, still work on Milwaukee projects from time to time, but those will be on my own, and not part of mipro. Enjoying would be saying the least! Been loving them for years, especially after you guys really got into the nightlights in the wake of SimFox's advances. I've followed both of your releases regularly for a very long time. I've never been to Detroit but I know it has a lot of fascinating architecture and it will be exciting to see more of it around here
  2. Nofunk's BAT Thread

Congratulations on a surprisingly productive year! With the exception of Slows to Go, which I've not yet tried, I've enjoyed all of these very much. I'm hoping you'll consider making 100 E Wisconsin and/or the Milwaukee Center someday. They were my favorite buildings when I lived in Milwaukee

Congratulations on your new project Jason and nofunk! Both of you set a gold standard for BAT quality. I'm looking forward to the new project and will be following closely One question: will this be exclusively Michigan or will there be Brew City bats as well? I lived there back in '07-'08 and it quickly became (and remains) my favorite city in the world
  4. motokloss MS WSP (Warsaw's Nursing School)

Awesome! Diagonal, HD, and good night lights is pretty hard to beat!
  5. mipro One Detroit Center

Really a beautiful building and an apparently perfect recreation of it. Fantastic!!
  6. mipro Penobscot Building

Wow, all that work really paid off! Absolutely top-notch work!!
  7. Art128 - Japanese Buildings Compilation

These buildings are just awesome :O  Thank god someone finally got around to finishing the modding :D
  8. Devon Tower

That looks just about perfect. Great work!   I was going to compliment you for choosing nice parking textures too but I guess it's a separate lot :D
  9. Siilijoki--Welcome to Winter

Hi everyone! It's been a very long time since I've updated here. In part that's because my region Siilijoki has been inactive for almost a year while I've been focusing on a group region called the NORO Cooperative over at SC4D. And in part it's for the same reasons so many others decide not to maintain journals over multiple sites. While I've never considered Siilijoki "retired" it essentially was until a nomination for OSITM over there last month arm-twisted me into action. I don't want to get into details to the point that it gets boring but to summarize: 1) I've started from scratch on an enlarged version of the same region (thanks to drunkapple) 2) Plugins have been redone from scratch (though I did borrow pretty heavily from my old Siilijoki plugins and from the NORO ones) 3) Copies of its region and plugins files are hosted online and the plugin-building has been collaborated with Swordmaster. Collaborative play is a possibility in the future. 4) During marathon play to be able to put on a week of featured content I could be really proud of I built a pretty significant amount of area for me (my playing style is very slow and detailed). Unfortunately I may have to start over due to some hurried modding that could cause problems down the road, but with the terrain saved the bridges, waterways, and transit networks will be easy to rebuild and those are the most time-consuming things anyway. 5) The new Siilijoki will maintain most of the style of the old. Most recently I've been working on snowy scenes. It ended up taking me a lot more time than I expected after I decided the snowy terrain mod didn't properly fit my new snowy rock mod. Turns out terrain modding is a lot more work than rocks & beaches & such. Anyway, hope you like what I've been up to Trying to capture the feel of midwinter's noon in Lapland Tigers looking for a reindeer snack I love snow in the twilight--which is probably good considering I live on the Arctic Circle Without trees and in a mountainous area you can get a better idea of the textures of the terrain. Other than the my rocks in the steepest areas the textures are based off of the Antarctic Terrain Mod on the STEX Thanks for looking!
  10. Dependency on dependencies

Keeping track of dependencies isn't the nicest thing in the world--nobody likes to do it--but I think the problem is very often exaggerated. For one thing, almost all the stuff released on the STEX or the LEX in relatively recent times uses either no dependencies or a handful of ones just about everybody has: your BSC textures, CP props, Porkie props, etc. The vast majority of author's are pretty responsible about not adding unnecessary ones, in part because they can expect to be complained at for it. Some authors who are serious lotters use a number of them to take advantage of the props they like the most--usually in pretty specialized files like parks, walls, and the like--which I think is great. And weird as it sounds, some dependencies are actually pretty exciting, like the VIP flora and props. I'd call dependencies just plain necessary, rather than a necessary evil, at least if you want realistically-scaled parking spaces or nice-looking trees. Anecdote: I just built a plugins folder--took forever and still needs modding and tweaking--but I just copied over the props and textures from my last plugins folder and have yet to run into a missing dependency. So for me at least after dealing with the dependency hassle once it seems I'll not have to again. If only finding properly modded and lotted, high quality buildings of a variety of wealth and zone types to match a specific style were so easy
  11. Reddonquixote's BAT thread

Really awesome work on these recent bats! I particularly like the various Art Deco works.
  12. U of W - Science Complex

Awesome building! It would be useful in many more circumstances without that overhanging plaza though.
  13. Darknono35 US Buildings Thread

The Bank of Hollywood looks great--and with your ability at texturing and nightlighting I'm sure it will be fantastic. The Comcast building is of course beautiful as well, I just have more need for smaller buildings.
  14. DK35 Systems Design Inc, Lexington, KY

Perfectly done little W2W building! Perfect for our co-op project.
  15. No More Neighbour Connection Arrows

One of those things I never realized bothered me--but now that I think of it it does :D  Nice work!
  16. METMW: Blood Pack Comm Relay

Pretty! And unlike your other recently made (also pretty) bats I don't have to think too hard to find a place for it in my non-sci-fi cities :D
  17. RHW as props

Depending on what exactly it is you're trying to do using model-tweaker to offset car props could be a good method. There's certainly not an easy way to do what it sounds like you want.
  18. Nam. Majstra Pavla, č. 27 a 28

Looks beautiful! It would be very nice to see a night picture though.
  19. Leroy Merlin

Looks really nice! I'd love to see a picture of the whole lot. Without a picture of the lot I can't tell the scale/size or how you've used a nice-looking set of props in the lotting.
  20. Optus Centre, Melbourne, Australia

Looks excellent! Too bad there's no diagonal version :(
  21. Reddonquixote's BAT thread

Fantastic work here!! Your models, textures, and especially lights are excellent and perhaps the best thing of all is all these diagonal releases. I'm working on a section of diagonal grid right now and it's going to be pretty Melbourne-influenced And that train station...just wow.
  22. hkabat-forum-threads PaulvMontfort's Showcase

That's some outstanding work with lighting (always a favorite area of mine) and an extremely promising "new" building! Speaking of lighting, I was wondering if there's any chance of your Pacific Place bat getting a darknight render. It's an absolutely outstanding bat and I'd very much like to be able to use it in a diagonal grid area some friends and I are working on. Hope SimCity piques your interest again soon
  23. SBT- Ceafus' Car Repairs/Auto Parts

What a lovely little bat! I would suggest using HD car and tree props but that can be fixed and I suppose your approach keeps the dependency complainers at bay :D  Thanks and 5/5!
  24. Modular Containers Lots Set

These look great! NIce work 5/5
  25. 3DS Max Office Furniture

Looks really good! Very nice of you to make them available for others' BATs :)
