  1. RHW-4s never seem to work

Good evening Guys, I've been practicing the construction of real highway networks and I have to admit I have a real problem with the real highway... I mean RHW-4 network in particular. In the picture below, I attempt to build an RHW so that unemployed Sims from the nearby residential zones can reach the jobs they need. I tried this already with RHW-6 and about 5000 sims have successfully used this highway to cross into another city and reach their workplaces. However, when I rebuilt this network as an RHW-4, the entire scheme collapsed and the road has become totally deserted for some reason. As you can see, I use the neighbor connection tile, just like the manual instructs, in order to ensure proper functionality between the cities. I think there is no error here (it worked just fine for RHW-6 after all). I also attach the picture of how the "receiving" end of the highway looks like. I know it looks a little dirty but, again, the same, exact makeshift entry / exit (abrupt end of the mainline + branch coming out of cosmetic extension) worked well with the RHW-6! I'd like to ask for your help in determining what is the source of the problem here. I believe I keep missing some simple point that hides in plain sight. I presume this is due to my very basic knowledge regarding the RHW family and the mechanics of the ramps themselves...
  2. Hey guys, I’m trying to play SimCity 4 deluxe edition for the first time and i heard about the NAM plug in, i wanted to try it so much. I’ve installed it watching guides and stuff from youtube. But the game doesn’t open, first i thought it would take time but it never opened. Can anyone tell me the feature difference in rhw and without it. And should i 4gb patch if playing wothout rhw. I wanted to ask this on discord but I’m not confirmed there yet.
  3. ACERENZA

ACERENZA Acerenza is an agricultural town This city is crossed by a beautiful river Of course there is a small lake where two rivers join. These rivers run through farms The city has a very old style. The train station also has the traditional style The heart of the city has a beautiful church with a large square The city also has somewhat modern commercial buildings This city passes a highway and there are some exits The night comes and the city takes on another aspect The church has another look at night The night is deep and the buildings have different colors with artificial lights COMMENT REPLIES: Sambuca @TheMurderousCricket Thanks for the comment @AP Thanks for the comment. Your mods for the beach are already there. Those beaches are MMP but you can see them in the next updates or if you are in the discord server of SC4D and Simtropolis or on reddit then you can already see the images @Dreamcitybuilder Thanks for the comment
  4. QWERTY-LAND, Chicago

started this region few month ago,... after watch a ton of Haljackey vids. As well as tons of other vids on YouTube. Coming up with my own play style is easy... but not so easy to capture and share.... lol. The region used is from a down load map from simtropolis. There's a ton of maps of Chicago....
  5. Height transition on RHW?

I know this isn't probably the correct way to use the real highway mod. As of the moment I still suck at using it lol... But how do you do a height transition on this part where I drew a white arrow? it's a level 2 RHW-4, and I want to raise it a level to go through those roads. It's basically an exit from the bridge and entrance to where the future airport will be. When I try to use any RHW on level 3 or 4, all I can see is just the pylon, or nothing, when I plop the starter piece..no road part at all. I looked everywhere for transition pieces, I found nothing. How to do this?
  6. NAM 31 - 34 RHW

Dear Simtropolis Users For those of you who are familiar with the NAM system and the RHW I'm addressing my concerns to thereof. While playing SIm City 4 and I'm trying to make good use of the RHW and MIS in lieu of using the existing highways produced by Maxis I'm experiencing two technical issues. The first issue is that whenever I connect two cities together using the RHW system, the no sim cars will pass through other than Freight trucks. I've also tried using the neighbor connector pieces and that didn't work either. The second problem which is shown in the attached image below is the use of the Level 3 and 4 starter pieces which does not show the road textures other than the columns.
  7. Partial Cloverleaf (PARCLO)

From the album NAM Showcase - Monthly Challenge #5

Just a regular medium sized partial cloverleaf interchange that I am in the process of building. The construction is complete and I'm down to the finishing touches.
  8. Real-life inspired interchange

From the album NAM Showcase - Monthly Challenge #5

This is a Real Highway interchange I have created using NAM 33 inspired by the 400 / 401 junction in Toronto, Canada. View a large mosaic of the interchange here: https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/779/23269149944_398dc3de30_o.jpg
  9. NAM 33 Interchange

From the album NAM Showcase - Monthly Challenge #5

I have to submit this image. While it was made in the NAM 33 pre-release, I think it qualifies. A design like this simply wasn't possible in previous versions of the NAM. I consider this as a 'proof of concept' of what NAM 33 can do. View a large mosaic of the interchange here: https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5758/21221733605_bd2cbbb7cf_o.jpg
  10. RHW Real Highways Help

So I've installed the RHW package and even managed to customize the installation by removing some things I don't want to use right now (like canals). I've begun a city where I want to create a ring highway, with most of the industry on the outer edges and residential areas in the center. But I'm having a hard time using the RHW pieces. I've read through a lot of the PDF documentation with RHW, but there are so many abbreviations and terms I don't know, so it's really hard to grasp. I looked up Youtube video tutorials, but most of them were from 2012 and earlier, and did not have all of the newest features. Are there any newer video tutorials or even simpler text tutorials you can recommend? My biggest trouble is that I want the highway to curve around a bit to fit the shape of the outer edges of my map, and I can't get curves figured out. I know there are curve puzzle pieces, but then I have trouble properly connecting those to the existing highway. I also can't quite manage to figure out how to connect my ramps to my streets. Last, I have built it as RHW-4, which I understand is one direction on each side. Sometimes when I drag out from the existing RHW-4 to add to it, it reverts to RHW-2. I've attached a screenshot of what I've built so far. Help???
  11. I installed NAM 31.1 trying to change some things I did not like when I had NAM 31, in example, that bullet train mod that destroyed the monorail. Anyway, looking at the options I saw the German style highways and I selected them. Everything continued and I started to play. To my surprise the highway looked very strange, as it was now a different design with only two lanes per way, as opposed to the traditional three lanes. That was not really a problem until I saw that with the intersections, the clovers, accesses from other ways, it looked like the traditional highway, and that was very ugly, as the ways seems to be cut from a part and made into 3 lanes, adn then again 2 lanes, in other colour, etcetera. I tried to fix that installing again NAM and changing the styles to others, but it kept the same. I have tried a lot of times, changing different options, and it keeps the same, still the same ugly 2 lanes highway mixed with the 3 way highway in some parts. The options I have tried to change (activating or deactivating) and that have not worked are: -Euroroad textures -The double lane/triple lane option for Euroroad -Real Highway -Extra width highways -Maxim Highways new textures And I think I have tried with other ones, and it has not worked either. Also I tried uninstalling the game and installing it again, and uninstalling NAM and installing it again; and it never works. Please help me, I have been trying to fix this for days, but it never works, I can't neither have the maxim style highway neither those weird Euroroad-real highway styles, but a weird ugly mix. Update: I tried already updating with 31.2, and I have the same problem.

  18. RHW Slope Mod

    Version 1.0

    14,030 Downloads

The Real Highway (RHW) slope mod, originally created by nwelsh (who also went by bigdope404 later) is now available for download on the STEX! -While this mod was released as an attachment on page 24 of the RHW thread on SC4Devotion back in August 2007, many members have had difficulty accessing the mod. -Due to it's high demand and hard to find download location, I have discussed it's release to the STEX with the NAM Team for some time. Now that permission has been granted by the NAM Team, I have now made it available for your downloading pleasure! Simply extract the file into your plugins folder (it does not have to be in your NAM or RHW folders to work) and you will be able to drag your RHW network (RHW-2) with smooth slopes. This slope mod is moderately restrictive, as you can see in the attached screenshot comparing it to a road with no slope mod (default) that isn't very restrictive and the Bullet Train slope mod which is highly restrictive. The photo shows a comparison of the amount of tiles you need to drag your networks to reach the 'ground lifter's' height from the hole digging lots package. As with my other uploads to the STEX, good faith is assumed (such as my uploads from APTX in the past). Credit for creating this for this mod belongs to nwelsh/bigdope404 . I have simply uploaded it here. I would also like to thank Tarkus for providing technical and background information surrounding this mod. Dependencies: -Real Highway Mod (RHW) -Network Addon Mod (NAM) Please post any questions or concerns you have with the mod below or to the RHW support threads on Simtropolis or SC4Devotion. Lastly, enjoy creating realistic slopes with your RHWs! -Haljackey

Well, people, after 1 year I have decided to release the final version of my Capital District Sign Pack. These signs were made for the Exit 5-6 on the Capital Beltway in my CJ The United Cities. Ever since V. 1.2(Which I am removing), the textures have been redone, with my new sign style, and the design slightly changed. The billboard style allows it to work with all highway networks. All the signs are rendered in HD quality FILES This pack contains the following files: - Capital District Sign Set.dat This file contains all stuff for this pack. - Capital_District_Signage_Submenu.da This file contains the submenu support - Readme.txt The readme of this pack - Cleanitol_Nathanthemayor_Capital_District_Sign_Set.txt This file allows you to remove previous versions of the file. INSTALLATION - Extract the ZIP-file. - Copy "Nathanthemayor" folder into your plugin folder to install. UNINSTALLATION To uninstall the pack, remove the files from your Plugins folder. It is highly recommended to run the cleanitol with the installer and remove any previous versions from your plugins.
