Description: Higher education in America centers traditionally has centered around a college campus, which tends to spawn a localized community all its own, particularly in smaller cities and towns where there is not much competing industry. Students come from all over the planet to receive degrees in engineering, medicine, law, and basket weaving. This comes with four BATs, each with a growable and ploppable lot: - University Bookstore: Students need to have that place to buy that new edition textbook the professor put out that changes three words and will require you to take out a second mortgage on your first born to purchase. - Dunkin Donuts: A New England based coffee shop chain, where students can get fuel to stay awake for the entirety of finals week studying things they didn't bother to learn the rest of the semester. - Primanti Brothers: A Pittsburgh area coleslaw-and-fries eatery that has served its fair share of students of varying levels of hunger and blood alcohol levels. - Sigma Iota Mu Fraternity House: A fictional college fraternity and the site of shenanigans that have ended in laughter, memories, and the occasional arrest. Description: Stadium Village is expanding and the Llamas are on a winning streak. Stadium neighborhoods take on a character all their own, centered around a facility which can balloon in population for a few hours and bring a boost to local business. This pack contains four BATs, all of which have a ploppable version and three of which have a growable version (I figured no one would want a random building with rooftop stands popping up facing a residential high rise for example). - Quentin's Casa de Nachos (fictional): Nachos are a stadium staple, at least in America. - Yellowcard Diner (fictional): A soccer-themed retro American diner for only the most loyal Llamas fans. - Infield Fry Rule (fictional): A baseball-themed burger and fries type standard American restaurant. - Infusion Coffee and Tea (based on a real company): Infusion fills the role of Starbucks on the island of Guam, where there are no Starbucks, believe it or not. For this building they occupy the ground floor of a small collection of apartments. On the rooftop, there are bleachers inspired by the buildings across the street from Wrigley Field in Chicago. They would be strategically situated to allow more fans to catch a view of your game - adding more seats to a place in your city where there may be limitations on stadium expansion. Greetings! I'll ask everyone to bear with me here while I try once again to produce some BAT's, and hopefully get a few of them onto the STEX this time perhaps... Since I don't expect my presence to be known by anyone outside the ST live chat room, I'll just say that some many ages ago I attempted to kick-start a BAT thread which never got anywhere and I've staggered into BAT'ing on and off since. I have a limited knowledge when it comes to working in 3dsmax and everything I know I taught mostly myself, however I'll mainly be doing most projects I think with Gmax, so forgive my potential crudeness... Now to business - I've gathered the courage to start this thread and face the criticism (I hope) of the now very experienced and professionally BAT community so that I can finally contribute at last... by this I mean strictly Toronto BAT's, for now at least. However I don't have anything really I can post here yet, I do apologize if this thread turns out to be a little pre-mature, but as I am still busy in the real world I'll be sure to make the time to get something to show after the weekend when I get to really sit down and hammer something out... Hello! This is a night lighting up date. I got a bit better at night lighting.. so I wanted to redo the lighting in this on and re-uploaded it. (: I also shrunk it to fit the scale of the game. it's now a 3x3 lot. It is just a ploppable. it does not grow. (it looks a lot better in the game. The pictures messed it up so yeah..) if you have any problems with it, please leave a nice or nasty comment. (: either way I'll still try to fix it! I will be releasing some more BATs soon! Basically this was just more practice for me, its loosely based off a coffee chain in my hometown. (I'm not sure if its only located in that town or if its in other places, but that is the only place I've seen it.) In my honest opinion this place has better frappucinos then starbucks by a longshot. Anyway its a CS$ stage 2 2x2 growable only. Updated July 28, 2007! All my old files are being updated and re-released to fix a host of minor issues and mistakes I made when I was still learning. The lot and desc files are the same the original meaning that the new version will replace the old one in your cities without any brown boxes as long as you delete the previous version. A BSC Cleanitol file will be available on SC4Devotion BSC exchange as soon as I have all the updated files released, which will make the job of deleting the old versions easy. Perks is a small coffee chain in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. The chain operates three outlets in the city, one on Lower Water Street by the ferry terminal and two on Quinpool Road. The small local chain is now facing increased competition with the addition of Timothy’s and Starbucks into the Halifax market. However, Perks’ superb geographic locations will likely allow the chain to weather the storm. This bat is based on the Perks’ Quinpool Road location. It is my second bat in my series of bats from Halifax’s Quinpool Road. Perks grows on a 1x2 corner lots andprovides space for Cs$$. Emmas Coffee Shop, part of the Smalltown, USA Series by JBSimio Remember when coffee shops still sold coffee? Actually, neither do I, but apparently it used to happen. Emma Baxter opened her coffee shop in this charming historic building nearly fifty years ago. While her daughter now handles the day to day operations, Emma still exerts a fierce influence over her business. Tourists often ask why the coffee shop doesn’t modernize and get with the times, to which Emma simply replies, “Smalltown takes care of its own. This is what the town wants and this is what I serve.” Records show that this building was constructed in 1918, but the local old timers cannot seem to agree on what its original purpose was. The debate can often be heard at one of Emma’s tables over a nice cup of coffee. Journey of the Mind Bookstore occupies the second shop. The owner, Neil Dixon, takes pride in his vast collection and searches constantly for rare and out of print volumes. Unfortunately, the love he shows for his leather bound antiquities makes him a fairly poor salesman. He hates to part with his treasures. Another fine bit of gossip at Emma’s centers around how much longer Neil’s business can stay afloat. Emma’s Coffee Shop is the sixth release in the Smalltown, USA series. A treat for all the Canadians from a friend right across the Detroit River. Yes, Tim Hortons is back to stay. Well known for their coffee, donuts, and timbits amongst other things, Tim Hortons is well spread throughout Canada and the northeast to midwestern parts of the United States. Included in this file are a 3x3 CS$$2 growable and a 3x3 CS$$ ploppable. The ploppable includes a custom icon in the landmarks menu and has been modded to include jobs. The growable and ploppable share the same stats which are as follows--- It employs 55 sims, has a pollution effect on air/water/garbage of 2/5/7 respectively, power consumed is 22, water consumed is 27, and costs $150 to bulldoze. In addition, the ploppable costs $22500 to plop. Have fun with it and feel free to showcase it whereever your heart desires. -
