  2. St. Paul's Building

    Version 1.1

    2,663 Downloads

The St. Paul’s Building is an historic office building located at the corner of Barrington and Prince Streets in Downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Named for nearby St. Paul’s church, the five storey building was built in 1897 for prominent Halifax entrepreneur, George Wright. Wright made his fortune in guide books and invested in real estate, including the Marble Building (aka Wright’s Building) two doors down. The Dumaresq family, whose four generations of architects have shaped Halifax, designed the St. Paul’s Building. Over its 107 year history, the building has housed a variety of prominent commercial tenants including the Continental and Lloyds bank branches and the Belgian, Argentinian, Italian and Chilean consultates. As Barrington Street declined in the face of competition for retail and office space from the suburbs, the St. Paul’s Building stopped being a highly sought after address. For much of its recent history, the first three floor housed Halifax’s largest used bookstore, J.W. Dohl. Dohl moved to the suburbs two years ago and the space has been vacant ever since. The upper two floors currently house a variety of professional and legal offices. The St. Paul's Building comes to SimCity on a 1x2 corner lot (both left and right versions). The St. Paul's Building fits wall-to-wall and in setback, textures and style, matches my other bats and JBSimio’s small town set. One dependency, BSC essentials which you should already have if you use any of my other bats.
  3. Vogue Building

The Vogue Building (aka the D'Allaird Building) is a 5 storey Art Deco structure. It's located on Barrington Street in the heart of Downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. The Vogue Building's original three floors were likely built in the 1930s, during the Great Depression. The Depression hit Halifax hard, bringing construction activity in the city to a standstill and making the Vogue Building a fairly unique Halifax example of Art Deco. Around the 1960s, a concrete block addition was added on top of the original Vogue Building to create an additional two floors of office space. The Vogue Building is owned by Barrington Street's largest landowner, Starfish Properties. Starfish plans to incorporate the Vogue Building into its redevelopment of the adjacent Roy Building. In Starfish's plan, the Vogue will remain a separate structure, but plan renderings show a combined roofline and greenspace on top. The Vogue is named for its major tenant, Vogue Optical. Vogue Optical began in Charlottetown PEI in the late 1970s and has grown steadily to 65 locations spread throughout Eastern Canada. In November 2013, a deal was struck to sell Vogue Optical to New Look Eyewear creating a 145 store optical retailer, one of North America's largest The Vogue Building comes to SimCity as a 1x2 corner lot (both left and right corners). I personally think the concrete block addition to the original D'Allaird Building is ugly so I left it off my SimCity version. One dependency, spa essentials (found in BSC essentials) which, if you use any of my other buildings, you should already have. See the readme for a link.

The Dominion Public Building is a Canadian federal government office building located on Bedford Row in Halifax, Nova Scotia. It's also known as the Old Post Office Building because it was built in the 1930s to serve as city's main postal station. It is also sometimes referred to as the original skyscrapper because it was Hailfax's tallest for over 30 years. Built during the height of the art deco movement in the 1930s, the Dominion Public Building is a one-of-a-kind structure. It's richly adorned with marine inspired stonework, including several large seahorse statutes at the top of the tower. A four storey addition was added onto the building in the 1960s to provide the postal service with additional administrative space. In the later half of the 20th century, changes in mail technology and in Canada Post's operations left the Dominion Public Building largely vacant. In 1993 it was transferred to Public Works and Government Services Canada's control and the department undertook a major retrofit to convert the space into general office use. The retrofit included glassing over the old 5-7th floor window well to create more contiguous floor plates and a really impressive atrium. Today, the Dominion Public Building is almost fully occupied by PWGSC and the building serves as the department's Regional Headquarters. The Dominion Public Building comes to SimCity as a 5x3, a 6x3 and an 8x3. Two versions, one with an underground garage and one without. Five dependencies, which, if you've been using any of my other bats, you'll probably already have. 5. Marine House

    Version 1.0

    3,325 Downloads

Marine House is a federal government office building located in Downtown Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada. The building has sat on the corner of Portland Street and Alderney Drive since the 1980s. Built on the site of a used car dealership, it started out as the Dartmouth Medical Centre and provided office space for a number of doctors. The federal government purchased the building in the early 2000s and converted it to general office space. Under government ownership, the building was renamed Marine House in honour of the major federal tenant, the Department of Fisheries and Oceans. To feed and coffee all the office workers, there is a small privately run cafe on the ground floor. Marine House comes to SimCity as a 4x3 growable and a plopable. Three dependencies (you probably already have them if you've previously used my stuff). BSC Essentials (mandatory, query) BSC Mega Props CP Vol01 (optional, shrubs, planter, cars) BSC Texture Pack Cycledogg Vol 1 (mandatory, base textures)
  6. Halifax Boxes

    Version 1.0

    5,620 Downloads

Last one for the week! Throughout Halifax, Nova Scotia's pre-War history, two housing styles have dominated: the Halifax Big House and the Halifax Box. The Big House came first in the 1860s after fire decimated much of the old city. The Box replaced the Big House around the 1880s as new suburbs were developed outside of the old core. The typical Halifax Box is a simple two-storey wooden building with an almost flat roof and an off-centre door. Boxes had full kitchens on the main level with a coal-fired furnace and storage in the basement (apples and potatoes!). Boxes in the wealthier suburbs to the West of Robie Street tended to have bay windows whereas the ones East of Robie were built to provide housing for workers and tended to be simpler structures. The worker's Boxes tended to be built wall-to-wall, but frequent narrow gaps were left, which today have become very narrow driveways. This upload replicates the worker's Boxes. For several decades Boxes dominated as Halifax grew. The Halifax Explosion of 1917, however, flattened many of them in the North End and others were lost to new development over the years. The area between North Street, Robie Street and the Citadel, however, was shielded from the Explosion by the hill at Fort Needham and declined economically throughout the late 20th century. The result of being spared disaster and being unattractive to development is that Halifax Central has the greatest surviving concentration of Boxes left in the city. Streets like Bauer, Creighton, Woodill and, in particular, Maynard are still lined with Worker's Boxes and have not changed significantly in 100 years. As Halifax Central has gentrified over the last decade, many Boxes have been renovated and restored to their former glory. Where they were once home to the working class that powered Halifax's factories, they're now increasingly home to the city's urban professionals. Included in this upload are 28 different Boxes, 14 with two windows on the front and 14 with three windows on the front. Each Box is individually textured with a unique front and back. All 28 are part of the same prop family meaning that any Box can be paired with any other for a total of 378 unique combinations! Not to brag, but this is probably one of the most varied single housing sets available The Boxes provide housing for R$$ and come on several lot sizes: 1x2, 2x2, 3x2 and 4x2. The 2x2s include corner versions and the 3x2s and 4x2s come with narrow driveways to reflect that particular Halifax pattern. Four dependencies: BSC Essentials (mandatory), BSC Texture Pack Cycledogg Vol 1 (mandatory), BSC Mega Props CP Vol01 (trees, trash cans and cars) and BSC Mega Props - SG Vol 01 (rose bushes). UPDATED: Fixed the larger lots (2x2 and larger) from growing on low density. Sorry for any inconvenience.
  7. Victoria Hall

    Version 1.0

    6,397 Downloads

Victoria Hall is a retirement home for women in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Victoria Hall traces its roots to 1860 when the Home for the Aged was established as a charity in a small rental house on Gottingen Street, not far from the Hall's current location. The charity's goal was to provide accommodation for elderly women and it offered more than just the basic necessities of life. It was quite successful and within 3 years had outgrown the small rental house. To provide more rooms, the charity purchased Senator William Roach's house farther up Gottingen Street in 1863. Over the next two decades, the Home for the Aged again outgrew the space and decided to expand. In the early 1880s the charity hired a preeminent local architect, Henry Frederick Busch, to design a new building. Busch's creation, Victoria Hall, was finished in 1885 on the site of Roach's original house. The stately building has graced Gottingen Street ever since although the charity that runs it has changed its name over the years. Started as the Home for the Aged, it became the Old Ladies Home in 1906 and then finally Victoria Hall in 1970. The charity still owns and operates the building today and its original mission to provide housing for elderly women remains unchanged. My version of Victoria Hall is a close, but not perfect, replica of the real building. I didn't, however, try to match the lot to the real thing. The real building is red, but I have included three other colour variations (blue, yellow and grey) for variety. Victoria Hall grows on a 4x3 medium density lot on the Chicago and New York tilesets and offers space to 252 R$$. Five dependencies, but if you use any of my other creations odds are you already have them: BSC Essentials (mandatory), BSC Texture Pack Cycledogg Vol1 (mandatory), BSC Mega Props CP Vol01 (flowers, cars, shrubs), BSC Mega Props D66 (manicured hedges in garden) and MJB Mega Props Vol01 (small trees in planters). UPDATED: Fixed problem with the lot that allowed it to grow on low density.
  8. Elmwood Apartments

    Version 1.0

    7,136 Downloads

Elmwood Apartments is a sunny Victorian apartment building at the corner of Barrington and South Streets in Halifax, NS, Canada. Built in 1890, Elmwood started out as a hotel and originally featured a wrap-around porch and grand entrance on South Street. Its location overlooking Cornwallis Park within easy walking distance of the train station and waterfront made it a prime spot for a hotel in the early 20th century. At some point over the years, the hotel went out of business and the building was converted into apartments. Elmwood is a survivor, dodging fires, modernist vandals and Hurricane Juan (tore the roof off). It's one of only a few large multi-unit wooden buildings that have survived in Halifax to the present day. A lot of the Victorian charm still remains inside including mouldings, wood floors, fireplaces, high ceilings and banisters. I'm particularly attached to Elmwood because I lived in apartment 4 for 11 months (2nd floor front, left corner). The only reason I moved is I bought my own house. Best apartment though that I ever had so I made sure to leave the light on in SimCity in my old unit My version of Elmwood is a very close, but not perfect, replica of the real building. The real building is yellow, but I have included an additional three colour variations (dark blue, green and brown) and left and right corner versions of each model for variety. Elmwood grows on a 3x2 corner lot on medium and high density on the New York and Chicago tilesets. It provides housing for 181 R$$. Four of my usual dependencies, BSC Essentials (mandatory), BSC Texture Pack Cycledogg Vol 1 (mandatory), BSC Mega Props CP Vol01 (trees, cars, flowers) and BSC Mega Props - SG Vol 01 (garbage cans).
  9. Victoria Apartments

    Version 1.0

    6,484 Downloads

The old apartment building at the corner of Hollis and Morris Streets was a prominent local landmark in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada for over a hundred years. The old row house portion on Morris Street was built in 1820 by the Morris family, right next door to their primary home. Charles Morris was Nova Scotia's Chief Surveyor and was instrumental in laying out Halifax from plans drafted in London in 1749. In the 1850s, the Morris's sold the whole property and after several different owners, it was finally purchased by A. J. Manley in 1895 at a sheriff's auction. Manley moved the original Morris house farther down Hollis Street and added a Queen Anne addition onto the 1820 row house. The newly enlarged building became the New Victoria Hotel and apart from the removal of the corner tower, the structure remained substantially unchanged for the next 100 years. The Victoria Hotel became the Victoria Apartments in 1910 and the Zive family later purchased the property in 1947. The Victoria Apartments went through several transformations after 1897. Local lore holds that when the southern end of Hollis Street served as Halifax's red light district, the building was a well-established brothel. Under the Zive's, the building's condition steadily worsened (the Zive's properties were generally easily recognizable as they were all painted with the same dull battleship grey colour). The Victoria Apartment's cheap rents in the heart of the city attracted musicians, artists and students and at some point it went from brothel to unofficial dorm. My wife and I actually lived in the building as students from 2008-2009. After the death of Dvara Elaine Leventhal (Zive) in 2005, the property was purchased by Dexel Developments. Under Dexel, the Victoria Apartments long colourful history came to an end. After decades of neglect, the building was in poor shape, but the surrounding neighbourhood had gentrified, making it a prime site for redevelopment. In 2009, Halifax Regional Council approved a development agreement with Dexel allowing the demolition of the existing buildings and the construction of a new 10 storey apartment building with ground floor commercial space in their place. All the tenants moved out in September 2009 and by the New Year, the Victoria Apartments had become a pile of rubble (the Morris House has, so far, survived having been moved to safety for a third time at the last minute). The Victoria Apartments are gone, but it won't soon be forgotten as it lives on in the memories of those who lived there and, now, in SimCity 4 as well. The Victoria Apartments comes to SimCity as a 2x2 corner building with left and right versions. It grows on medium density on the Chicago and New York tile sets and provides housing for 261 R$. Two dependencies, BSC Essentials and BSC Mega Props CP Vol01 (trees and dumpster).

Here's some colourful old wooden duplexes from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. They are a design that is typical in the Schmidtville area of the city, with the largest concentration located on Church Street near the intersection with Harvey. I have noticed the style in a few other locations in the South End and even across the harbour in Downtown Dartmouth. I'm guessing that they were once even more prevalent and that some have been lost to redevelopment over the years. For the most part, the surviving duplexes have stood up well over the last hundred or so years. Many of the original architectural details are still intact or have been tastefully replicated and, as is traditional in the Maritimes, they are still painted in a mix of colours (no 100 shades of beige here). Some of them, however, have fallen into disrepair at the hands of "slum" landlords and are mainly used to provide cheap housing for Halifax's large student population. The 6 variations included in this uploads reflect the "best" of the bunch. Church Street apartments come to SimCity as 1x2s and 1x1s that grow on the Chicago and New York tilesets on medium density. They provide housing for 23 R$$. Dependencies: SC4D LEX Legacy - BSC Common Dependencies Pack v8 (and above) The below listed dependencies are all can be found in the hereby linked dependency pack compilation. Update: 30.01.2024 - the upload has been updated for Project ZIP (the *exe installer has been replaced by a simple ZIP upload) and the documentation got updated as well. - Tyberius06
  11. Knightsbridge

    Version 1.0

Knightsbridge is a rowhouse style condominium in Halifax, NS, Canada. The real building is an old 3 door blue wooden structure that has recently been renovated and has had a modern addition added on the back. I wasn't able to find much detail on the original building's history other than it was likely built sometime between 1870 and 1900 when the rest of Inglis Street from South Park to Barrington was developed. The name Knightsbridge doesn't appear to have any particular significance to Halifax. Knightsbridge, however, is the name of an exclusive residential district in London. Given that between 1870-1900, English Canadians still thought of themselves as British subjects, I would guess that Halifax's Knightsbridge was named after the London neighbourhood to try and market it to wealthy Haligonians. This bat is a recreation of Halifax's Knightsbridge. To add variety, I have included green and yellow versions and several sizes (2x2, 3x2, 4x2, 5x2 and 6x2). All grow on the New York and Chicago tilesets. Three dependencies: BSC Essentials (mandatory), BSC TexturePack Cycledogg V 01B (mandatory) and BSC Mega Props CP Vol01 (trees, cars, fences).

The Bank of Nova Scotia Building sits near the centre of Halifax directly across from the Nova Scotia legislature on Hollis Street. The beaux-art building was designed by Canadian architect John Lyle and was built in 1930 to house the bank's main office. Scotiabank still owns the building and the structure still houses the bank's formal headquarters. As far as I can tell, maintaining the bank's formal headquarters on Hollis Street is strictly a ceremonial and legal thing as well as a nod to the bank's Maritime roots since the actual corporate headquarters moved to Toronto decades ago. The Bank of Nova Scotia Building is a finely detailed piece of architecture of national significance. On the exterior stone panels and throughout the interior of the building there are carefully crafted scenes of Canada's economic history. It is one of Halifax's finest building, if not the finest. The Bank of Nova Scotia Building comes as a plop and a growable with several different lots (2x3 and 2x4). It fits wall-to-wall on the sides and is very snug all the way around on the 2x3. The Bank provides 502 Co$$$ jobs. Three dependencies from my usual favourites: BSC Essentials (mandatory)BSC MEGA Props - SG Vol 01.dat (rose bushes and boxes in the 2x3 alley version) BSC Mega Props CP Vol01 (trees, planters on 2x4 plaza version).
  13. Dennis Building

    Version 1.0

    4,024 Downloads

The Dennis Building has a long history in Downtown Halifax (long by North American standards anyway). It was built in 1863 to house a dry goods firm, T.E. Kenny. T.E. Kenny eventually relocated and William Dennis, owner of the Halifax Herald, purchased the building in 1900. The Halifax Herald had just gotten comfortable, however, when the building was almost completely destroyed by fire in 1912. Dennis had deep pockets and he had the original granite facade reinforced and the interior gutted so that three additional floors could be added on top, giving the Dennis Building its name and current look. The Herald eventually relocated to Argyle Street, but the Dennis Building lived on as a provincial government office building. The Dennis Building's future is uncertain. It leaks and has air and mould issues. Its immediate neighbours were senselessly destroyed and turned into parking lots for a development that never happened leaving it orphaned and alone. In 2008, the Province acquired the empty adjacent lands. Since the Province now owns nearly the entire block, the Dennis Building is likely to eventually be part of a major redevelopment. Whether it survives intact, the facade is retained or is levelled completely is an open question. The Dennis Building comes as a 2x2 growable (both left and right corners) and a plopable that provide 373 Co$$ jobs. The lot textures and setback are designed to fit my other 2 deep lots and JBSimio's set. Three dependencies, BSC Essentials (mandatory), BSC_TexturePack_Cycledogg_V 01b.dat (mandatory) and BSC MEGA Props - SG Vol 01.dat (boxes in the alley).
  14. Morses Teas Building

    Version 1.0

The Morse's Teas Building is a surviving piece of Halifax's old industrial waterfront. The site was occupied from about the time of Halifax's founding back in 1749 by the Jerusalem Coffee House. After fire destroyed the original Coffee House in 1873, the present Morse's Teas Building rose from the ashes. In 1910, after a string of different owners, the building was purchased by Morse's Teas to serve as the company's head office. The building has been known as the Morse's Teas Building ever since, largely because of the faded old advertisements just below the 6th floor windows. Morse's Tea is no longer based in the building, but their tea still graces grocery store shelves in Atlantic Canada. Until recently, the Morse's Teas Building was home to the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD), but NSCAD has relocated to a new facility at Pier 21. Starfish Properties, a developer with a long history of restoring old buildings in Halifax, purchased the building and is renovating it to accomodate general office space. The Morse's Teas Building comes as a corner 2x3 C lot (two version, one left corner and one right corner) and provides 506 Co$$. Also included is a plop. Two dependencies, BSC Essentials (mandatory) and BSC Mega Props CP Vol01 (trees and planters at back).
  15. JW Johnston Building

    Version 1.0

The J.W. Johnston Building is a provincial government office building in Downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. The building is named for James William Johnston. Johnston was prominent public figure and politician when Responsible Government dawned in Nova Scotia (birth of Canadian democracy). Johnston led the fledgling provincial government as Conservative Premier from 1857-1860 and again from 1863-1864 before becoming a judge. The building that bears his name, however, was not always home to government office workers. The building was built in 1928 to house an Eatons Department Store. At the time, it was the largest department store in Halifax and it cemented Barrington Street's status as the City's main retail strip of the pre-WWII era. Eatons relocated to the suburbs in the 1960s and Woods Department Store briefly occupied the space. The Nova Scotia government acquired the building in the 1970s and has completed several major refits. The Johnston Building is one of the best preserved heritage buildings in Downtown Halifax. Included in this upload are three versions, 1 plopable and two growables. One of the growables has an alley in back while the other has a plaza. All lots are 2x4 and provide 542 Co$$$ jobs. Three dependencies, BSC Essentials (mandatory), BSC MEGA Props - SG Vol 01.dat (planters, bushes, alley trash) BSC Mega Props CP Vol01 (trees).
  16. The Roy Building

    Version 1.0

    3,326 Downloads

The Roy is located in the heart of Halifax, Nova Scotia. It's the largest old building on Barrington Street, but it has unfortunately lost a lot of its luster over the last several decades. The Roy was built by James Roy in 1897 who made his fortune in organ and piano manufacturing (go figure) and speculated successfully in Halifax real estate. The large building streatchs across the middle of an entire block and actually backs onto Granville Street. It was built in three phases starting in 1897, continuing in 1918 after a fire burned much of the original and concluding in 1928. The building is home to a number of small offices and I have heard it said that the interior feels like a 1930s detective movie set. The Roy's century long stay on Barrington Street, however, is nearly over. There is currently a proposal to redevelop the site that will see the building levelled (a demolition permit has already been issued and several tenants evicted). The building's owner is proposing to build a replica of the Roy that will have a large office tower on top. The developer's consultants have indicated that the Roy's original facade is too far gone and too damaged to be restored. It's too bad since this section of Barrington Street is one of the few streetscapes that is still intact in Halifax and the Roy Building is one of the city's few large old building's that has survived. In SimCity, however, the Roy is back and restored to its original glory complete with awnings. The Roy comes as a growable and a plop that provides 1,922 Co$$ jobs on a 4x4 lot. Three dependencies, BSC Essentials (mandatory), BSC MEGA Props - SG Vol 01.dat (barrels and boxes in the alleys) and BSC Mega Props CP Vol01 (trees). See the readme for complete details.

Thisis a bat of the Halifax Explosion Memorial Bell Tower in the City's Fort Needham Park. Ninety-one years ago today, on December 6, 1917, disaster struck Halifax in the form of the largest man-made explosion before the invention of nuclear weapons. The Explosion occurred when two ships, the Mont Blanc and Imo, collided in Halifax Harbour. The Mont Blanc was fully loaded with munitions and caught fire. The ship's crew fled and the stricken vessel drifted right into the Halifax waterfront around Pier 6. Almost nobody knew what the Mont Blanc was carrying so no one thought to take cover or flee. The eventual explosion devastated Halifax. Everything within a 2 km radius was flattened and roughly 12,000 other homes were badly damaged. Toppled woodstoves ignited the ruins and fires burned out of control since the city's fire department was virtually wiped out in the blast (firefighters were on Pier 6 trying to extingish the blaze at the time of the Explosion). Approximately, 2,000 people died and 9,000 others were injured. Relief efforts were hampered by a blizzard that struck the very next day. The first major shipment of outside aid to reach Halifax came from Boston, something that Haligonians and Nova Scotians have never forgot. This is why every year, Boston’s official Christmas Tree is carefully picked from the wilds of Nova Scotia and is provided to the city free of charge by the provincial government. The long-term impact of the Explosion on Halifax was major. The disaster wiped out the city’s already struggling industrial base. Most of the industry was never rebuilt. The devastated North End rose anew as the Hydrostones, Canada’s first public housing project. Halifax became a centre for research into blindness due to the large number of people whose vision was damaged by flying glass. American military planners carefully studied Halifax and a similar incident in Port Chicago, CA, in preparation for the atomic bomb attacks on Japan. The Explosion is remembered by Haligonians every year at the Memorial Bell Tower in Fort Needham Park. To this day, the North face of the clock tower on Halifax City Hall is frozen in time at 9:05. Included in this upload are two lots, a plain 1x3 plaza and a 1x4 park lot that is compatible with the BSC Park set. See the readme for complete details.

Wright’s Building is a historic office building on Barrington Street in downtown Halifax that, due to its red marble colonnettes, isalso known as the Marble Building. It was built in 1896 by George Wright, a successful local entrepreneur who made his fortune publishing business guide books. Wright was lost with the Titanic in 1912, but his building has survived to the present day. Wright’s Building has been wonderfully preserved and currently provides office space on the upper floors and a home to a Greco Pizza parlour on the ground floor. Included in this upload are two 1x2 lots, a growable and a plopable, that provide 86 Co$$$. Wright’s Building fits wall-to-wall and is made to match my earlier 2 deep lots and JBSimio’s small town set in terms of alley lot texture and setbacks. One dependency, BSC essentials. See the readme for complete details.

The Canada Permanent Insurance Building is a modern high-rise on Barrington Street in downtown Halifax, NS. The building extends along the edge of a narrow city block and actually backs onto trendy Argyle Street. The structure is a great example of International Style architecture. It was built in 1950 and is significant because it was one of the very first modern high-rises in downtown Halifax. Heritage advocates have argued that the building contrasts with its nearby 19th and early 20th century neighbours, but I think it adds some contrast and visual interest to Barrington. Recently the building was converted into residential units, but the Mercury Bar, the Tim Hortons and the small convenience store have all remained on the ground level. Despite the conversion to residential, my SimCity version is a Co$$ office building since it would look out of place popping up in residential zones! Included in this upload are two versions a 1x2 and a 1x3. The 1x3 is fairly true to the real building whereas the 1x2 is a shortened version. Both come with a plop and growable that fit wall-to-wall on both sides. Both versions provide Co$$ jobs. One dependency, BSC essentials. See the readme for complete details.
  20. Tramway Building

    Version 1.0

    3,944 Downloads

The Tramway Building is a unique gem from Halifax’s Barrington Street. Built in 1916 to house the Nova Scotia Tramways and Power Company, the operators of Halifax’s now defunct streetcar network, the structure is one of city’s only modern neo-gothic buildings. The use of concrete as the building’s main material was, in 1916, well ahead of its time. Today the Tramway Building’s upper floors provide office space to an animation company, while the ground floor is home to Frozen Ocean (clothes) and Venus Envy (bookstore/sex shop). The building is a definite local landmark and is generally known as the building with the faces (blown up pictures of peoples faces fill most of the windows on the second floor). Included in this upload are three lots, a 1x2 growable and plopable and a 1x3 growable. All lots provide 107 Co$$ and have been done to conform with the style I have used previously and JBSimio’s small town set. Two dependencies, BSC Essentials and BSC MJB Mega Props Vol 1. See the readme for complete details.

The Five Fishermen is a seafood restaurant in downtown Halifax, NS, Canada. It occupies an old building across from City Hall and Grand Parade. The building was once a funeral parlour that hosted, among many others, Titanic and Halifax Explosion victims. Not surprisingly, the restaurant is said to be haunted by more than late-night binge drinkers from the nearby nightclubs. The Five Fishermen fits w2w and matches the small town series. See the readme for complete details.

Video Difference is a small video rental chain based in Canada's Maritime provinces. The flagship store (this bat) is located in a converted house on Halifax's Quinpool Road and is the world's best video store. The place is open 24 hours, has a wide selection of movies including an impressive assortment of foreign and independent films, rents kids movies for free during the week, has a food for fines program tied to the Metro Food Bank and actually accepts Canadian Tire Money as currency. The place is a definite Halifax landmark. Video Difference fits w2w on one side and has a narrow alley on the other. It matches the small town set and comes with a growable and a plopable landmark. See the readme for comlete details.

The building is home to several shops including Maritime Frame It, the Running Room, Deco Restaurant and Life Salon and Spa. The upstairs offices houses a variety of tenants including Sports Nova Scotia (owners of the electronic bill board), Da Tang Language School and Sun Holidays.
