Dollarama is a Canadian dollar store retail chain headquartered in Montreal. Since 2009, it has been Canada's 2nd largest retailer of items for four dollars or less. If this happens, use the Immortality Killer to get rid of the lot. Mod Edit: A new lot file is now provided to address this issue. Please delete the existing PLOP_3x5_Eighth Avenue Place - East Tower_402448f5.SC4Lot in the zip file. For a seamless installation, download this file with sc4pac instead. But since the 3dsmax files have become corrupt, I can no longer finish the model. So, you'll notice details about the building a different and a few incomplete things here and there. Just thought I'd upload it as is rather than it go to the graveyard. Oh well! No dependencies. Enjoy!

  10. Halifax Boxes

    Version 1.0

    5,620 Downloads

Last one for the week! Throughout Halifax, Nova Scotia's pre-War history, two housing styles have dominated: the Halifax Big House and the Halifax Box. The Big House came first in the 1860s after fire decimated much of the old city. The Box replaced the Big House around the 1880s as new suburbs were developed outside of the old core. The typical Halifax Box is a simple two-storey wooden building with an almost flat roof and an off-centre door. Boxes had full kitchens on the main level with a coal-fired furnace and storage in the basement (apples and potatoes!). Boxes in the wealthier suburbs to the West of Robie Street tended to have bay windows whereas the ones East of Robie were built to provide housing for workers and tended to be simpler structures. The worker's Boxes tended to be built wall-to-wall, but frequent narrow gaps were left, which today have become very narrow driveways. This upload replicates the worker's Boxes. For several decades Boxes dominated as Halifax grew. The Halifax Explosion of 1917, however, flattened many of them in the North End and others were lost to new development over the years. The area between North Street, Robie Street and the Citadel, however, was shielded from the Explosion by the hill at Fort Needham and declined economically throughout the late 20th century. The result of being spared disaster and being unattractive to development is that Halifax Central has the greatest surviving concentration of Boxes left in the city. Streets like Bauer, Creighton, Woodill and, in particular, Maynard are still lined with Worker's Boxes and have not changed significantly in 100 years. As Halifax Central has gentrified over the last decade, many Boxes have been renovated and restored to their former glory. Where they were once home to the working class that powered Halifax's factories, they're now increasingly home to the city's urban professionals. Included in this upload are 28 different Boxes, 14 with two windows on the front and 14 with three windows on the front. Each Box is individually textured with a unique front and back. All 28 are part of the same prop family meaning that any Box can be paired with any other for a total of 378 unique combinations! Not to brag, but this is probably one of the most varied single housing sets available The Boxes provide housing for R$$ and come on several lot sizes: 1x2, 2x2, 3x2 and 4x2. The 2x2s include corner versions and the 3x2s and 4x2s come with narrow driveways to reflect that particular Halifax pattern. Four dependencies: BSC Essentials (mandatory), BSC Texture Pack Cycledogg Vol 1 (mandatory), BSC Mega Props CP Vol01 (trees, trash cans and cars) and BSC Mega Props - SG Vol 01 (rose bushes). UPDATED: Fixed the larger lots (2x2 and larger) from growing on low density. Sorry for any inconvenience.
  11. Elmwood Apartments

    Version 1.0

    7,136 Downloads

Elmwood Apartments is a sunny Victorian apartment building at the corner of Barrington and South Streets in Halifax, NS, Canada. Built in 1890, Elmwood started out as a hotel and originally featured a wrap-around porch and grand entrance on South Street. Its location overlooking Cornwallis Park within easy walking distance of the train station and waterfront made it a prime spot for a hotel in the early 20th century. At some point over the years, the hotel went out of business and the building was converted into apartments. Elmwood is a survivor, dodging fires, modernist vandals and Hurricane Juan (tore the roof off). It's one of only a few large multi-unit wooden buildings that have survived in Halifax to the present day. A lot of the Victorian charm still remains inside including mouldings, wood floors, fireplaces, high ceilings and banisters. I'm particularly attached to Elmwood because I lived in apartment 4 for 11 months (2nd floor front, left corner). The only reason I moved is I bought my own house. Best apartment though that I ever had so I made sure to leave the light on in SimCity in my old unit My version of Elmwood is a very close, but not perfect, replica of the real building. The real building is yellow, but I have included an additional three colour variations (dark blue, green and brown) and left and right corner versions of each model for variety. Elmwood grows on a 3x2 corner lot on medium and high density on the New York and Chicago tilesets. It provides housing for 181 R$$. Four of my usual dependencies, BSC Essentials (mandatory), BSC Texture Pack Cycledogg Vol 1 (mandatory), BSC Mega Props CP Vol01 (trees, cars, flowers) and BSC Mega Props - SG Vol 01 (garbage cans).

Here's some colourful old wooden duplexes from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. They are a design that is typical in the Schmidtville area of the city, with the largest concentration located on Church Street near the intersection with Harvey. I have noticed the style in a few other locations in the South End and even across the harbour in Downtown Dartmouth. I'm guessing that they were once even more prevalent and that some have been lost to redevelopment over the years. For the most part, the surviving duplexes have stood up well over the last hundred or so years. Many of the original architectural details are still intact or have been tastefully replicated and, as is traditional in the Maritimes, they are still painted in a mix of colours (no 100 shades of beige here). Some of them, however, have fallen into disrepair at the hands of "slum" landlords and are mainly used to provide cheap housing for Halifax's large student population. The 6 variations included in this uploads reflect the "best" of the bunch. Church Street apartments come to SimCity as 1x2s and 1x1s that grow on the Chicago and New York tilesets on medium density. They provide housing for 23 R$$. Dependencies: SC4D LEX Legacy - BSC Common Dependencies Pack v8 (and above) The below listed dependencies are all can be found in the hereby linked dependency pack compilation. BSC Essentials BSC MEGA Props SG Vol01 v3 BSC MEGA Props CP Vol01 BSC Textures Vol01 BSC TexturePack Cycledogg V01b Installation: Copy/extract the BSC parent folder into your plugins. If you extracted the _Documents folder into your plugins, too, it's highly recommended to keep it, but move it out of the Plugins folder. Un-Installing: To un-install the files, simply bulldoze every lot from this download in your cities and delete the files from the plugins folder afterwards. Update: 30.01.2024 - the upload has been updated for Project ZIP (the *exe installer has been replaced by a simple ZIP upload) and the documentation got updated as well. - Tyberius06

BMO Field, Toronto, Canada Built only 2 1/2 years ago in east Toronto, it hosts the Canadian Nationals, and Toronto FC, the Canadian Major League Soccer team. It seats over 20,000 people in certain arragements. Written in the seats are the words "BMO" on the south side, "TORONTO" on the west side, as well as the team's logo, and a maple leaf appears on the east side. This, along with its open-air design make it a unique landmark of Toronto. My 50th building and the finale to this weeks release party! The Canadian Broadcasting Centre is a special purpose office building in downtown Toronto. Completed in 1993, the building is the heart of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), Canada’s publicly owned television and radio network. Most of CBC’s English programming and a significant portion of the network’s French shows are produced in the building (television in the roof studios and radio on the floors below). To accommodate television and radio production, the building is built on a series of rubber pads that minimize unwanted vibrations. In total, the Broadcasting Centre is home to 3 radio studios, 19 production studios, 3 television studios, 2 local television studios, 2 all purpose studios and one national news studio. Besides the CBC, the building is also home to the International Academy of Design and Technology. Perhaps though the structure’s signature feature is the 13 storey Barbara Frum Atrium, named in honour of former CBC news anchor Barbara Frum. In 2006, several Canadian police forces and the Canadian Security Intelligence Agency cracked an Islamic terrorist cell and potentially averted an attack on the Broadcasting Centre. The 17 suspected terrorists had a long list of potential targets and had considered attempting to storm the building, take hostages and seize control of the air waves. The Canadian Broadcasting Centre comes to SimCity with a growable and a plopable lot that measure 7x7 and provide 3,718 Co$$$. Three dependencies, BSC Spa Essentials 2, BSC Mega Props CP Vol1 and BSC Texturepack Cycledogg V01 b. See the readme for complete details.

The growable and ploppable share the same stats which are as follows--- It employs 55 sims, has a pollution effect on air/water/garbage of 2/5/7 respectively, power consumed is 22, water consumed is 27, and costs $150 to bulldoze. In addition, the ploppable costs $22500 to plop. Have fun with it and feel free to showcase it whereever your heart desires.
