  1. ideas Site Suggestion Box

Following the mentioned issue of lost files that were attached to posts, I was wondering if there is a way to search for posts that have such attachments. If not, could this be added? I feel that there is a number of very valuable or useful ones amongst those files-in-post. Yet they are hidden in a kind of darknet as they cannot be searched for. Here are a few examples of those files-in-posts: Wallibuk's files https://community.simtropolis.com/forums/topic/761930-wallibuks-bats/?do=findComment&comment=1774965 https://community.simtropolis.com/forums/topic/761930-wallibuks-bats/?do=findComment&comment=1790739 https://community.simtropolis.com/forums/topic/761930-wallibuks-bats/?do=findComment&comment=1799863 https://community.simtropolis.com/forums/topic/761930-wallibuks-bats/?do=findComment&comment=1802716 memo' NAM.dll: https://community.simtropolis.com/forums/topic/762985-namdll-open-beta/?do=findComment&comment=1788789 rsc204's Diagonal Bridge bugfix: https://community.simtropolis.com/forums/topic/763609-diagonal-bridge-rrw-issue/?do=findComment&comment=1807747 11241036's Secret Railway Stations: https://community.simtropolis.com/forums/topic/73220-cant-find-it-ask-here/?do=findComment&comment=1745711
  2. Can't find it?... Ask here!

I have sent you the file (and others) with a PM.
  3. Simtropolis Returns!

I see, so those are long lost images, which might have had an ImageShack or PhotoBucket placeholder that now has been replaced by an ST placeholder in the course of the restoration work. That makes sense. Thanks!
  4. Simtropolis Returns!

@CorinaMarie, @Cyclone Boom, I have a more general observation which I post here instead of in the recovery pages. Are we sure that nothing was lost prior to 17 June, 2024? E.g. for the file I link below, there are a great many comments going back to 2012, all with images. And all the images have a placeholder. I am certain I have seen placeholder images before in posts older than 17 June, 2024. I also notice that the original image name for all of these is "%3C". Maybe this helps investigating it.
  5. Riktor's Point Airport

There is a good airport tutorial, How to build an Airport: https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=6600.0. Its the one I used for learning how to do this. There is also a 5-part YouTube series called SimCity 4 Masterclass - Airports which is a good start. As for the Airport pack, I still use SC4D LEX Legacy Ultimate Airport Pack despite the fact that it is labelled obsolete. I just don't know what else to use. There is the newer SC4 Legacy - Airport Common Dependency Pack but that is just a large dependencies pack. There does not seem to be a corresponding pack for Lots.
  6. Riktor's Point Airport

Riktor's Point is a small peninsula that reaches into Quonock River. It was deemed far enough from the city centre to build an airport: Riktor's Point Aulton, RPA. The airport attracted industry with buildings using all of the scarce space. The first passenger terminal quickly became too small and was refitted as a cargo terminal. Thus the control tower is placed next to the cargo terminal and not the passenger terminal which is newer. The passenger terminal is very busy and will soon be running out of space. Wedged between the runway and the industry on the riverbank, the passenger terminal can only be reached via tunnels Due to the proximity of the river, there is no option for more terminals or a second runway. Plans for a second airport are already being discussed. Aulton is never finished.
  7. Shenzhen Software Industry Base

The mechanical floors at the top are marvellous and the nightlights on the lower roof terrace are something to behold. Stunning!
  8. Can't find it?... Ask here!

I assume "Bell Tree Tower" is the Detective Conan manga name for the Tokyo Skytree? Both the Marina Bay Building and the Tokyo Skytree have been shown in City Journals by @thecitiescenter and Ke|is (see below). Unfortunately, no public downloads are available for either one of them. For Marina Bay this has to do with licensing rights and so is not likely to change. Perhaps @Ke|is has some additional information on the Tokyo Skytree?
  9. When recreating images, should we not add the recreations as new ones and leave the old placeholder images? That way creators can still see the name of their missing images (unless this is not necessary as the information is kept somewhere else, like in the tracker).
  10. LEX Files - New Download Links Using @CorinaMarie's SC4 Devotion LEX Files Cross Reference, I started some month's ago to compile a list with new URLs for LEX downloads. I could find matching links for almost 90% which leaves a few hundred entries open. Perhaps we can fill the gap together? If you have a working link for one of the missing URLs (or a correction or update) please post this below and I will update the table. As with Cori's LEX Cross Reference, use Ctrl+F here to search. The File ID corresponds to the lotGet= number in the LEX URL, e.g. File ID "2920" is for the LEX URL: https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2920
  11. Riktor's Point Airport

@Tyberius06 @monicadm @TheMurderousCricket @ilikehotdogsalot @911Diva Thank you all very much for your kind comments!
  12. Sharer HQ: File Sharing Collaboration

Just so that we have everything in one place, I quote here posts by @memo and @hugues aroux, who have shared their repository links in another thread:
  13. The details on how to restore files are described in this post: As for where to find files, there is, to my knowledge, no central repository. I think most, like myself, work from their own downloads, at least for now. The Calling All Volunteers! thread has post where some members provide a list of their downloads. Some provide public access to downloads: --------------------------------- EDIT: The Sharer HQ: File Sharing Collaboration thread has links to publicly accessible repositories.
  14. Verifier HQ: File Verifying Info & Discussion

I noticed that I am not prevented from verifying files that I restored myself. Is that an oversight or is it ok if I verify those as well?
  15. Is there a post explaining how to add a file to the existing latest version (i.e. update it)? It seems I am creating new versions with the same version number.
A marvellous set which is not limited to utopian cities. I have used the underwater pipes in contemporary harbour settings.
  16. bugs Simtropolis 9.0.x - Bugs & Issues Report Thread

Could there be however a hiccup caused by the restoration effort? I am not sure but I think I saw the yellow "Update Available" button for files I already have. I concluded that the restored file must have a different upload timestamp. It's not really an issue though.
  17. Toranomon Hills Station Tower

This looks great, @thecitiescenter, but do you think you could narrow down the dependencies? The BSC Common Dependencies Pack and the Moonlight Compilation - Japanese Sites - Simtropolis are rather large. Also, the RDQ Prop Pack has an old LEX link. There is now the SC4D LEX Legacy - Reddonquixote Compilation on SC4Evermore, but it is not small either. It would be good to know what specifically is needed from that as well.
  18. Can't find it?... Ask here!

I found the post below by Belfastsocrates, which confirms it is a relot. Perhaps the name "Gilbert Scott Building" is fictional.
  19. Can't find it?... Ask here!

I am not 100% sure but this resembles more the Canadian Parliament. I know only of the BAT by @otty8116 and that one looks very different. Maybe your screenshot shows a mod or relot or was photoshopped.
  20. Can't find it?... Ask here!

The backlink to LEX is just a reference. To download, click on the file-icon and then on 내PC 저장.
  21. Guess the City/Metro from Satellite Image

You made that one easy: Nice in France. This one is not very big, but well known:
  22. Guess Who's Next V2

Yes, though it feels like I have been here before. Speaking of déjà vu, shouldn't this trigger an appearance of Prophet42?
  23. Posto Petrobras

I love the roof, it looks very realistic. Well done!
