  1. Show us What you're Working On

@Dreadnought Someone with BATing skills like myself maybe I just made two fort pieces and a filler lot for that (and I also modified Ferox lots), but I'm quite excited with doing some more of these as the side project it started as, and why not, some gun turrets in a Maginot (concrete) style or something older and more accurate mixed with what I showed here (the textures I used are from a fort built in 1874, following a doctrine that was the more modern in france around 1870 to 1880 I think, and some of these already had gun turrets from which I could get some inspiration. As well as insane steel drawbridges on steel wheels ). ...So I may lead this to a small pack that could be decent enough to be shared.
  2. RRetail Development

That's a very neat one, you're improving your skills ^^ About the roof texture, I would suggest you to search for something a little darker, a little more dirty and with more contrast. Here, a pattern is slightly visible. IRL, roofing is seldom maintained with any care.
  3. Show us What you're Working On

I went back on these few fort pieces, I combined them with some of @Ferox fort pieces and other stuff. I'm quite convinced with the result
  4. Björn_1984's BAT's

Interesting though - there's quite a lack on hospitals. Nice work so far
  5. Can't find it?... Ask here!

@kschmidt Hey, as you're pretty active on this thread, I wanted to ask you how did you manage to have plain concrete sidewalks, without grass, on the various images of your recreation of Praha. I wasn't able to find any information about that... Thanks in advance ^^
  6. Show us What you're Working On

@kingofsimcity This is extremely nice, your work fits very well with these awesome ruins by Simmer2 - certainly the best abandonned lots I've seen so far, and it was really needed. I need crippled neighborhoods to go with industrial areas
  7. Twinkle, twinkle, little BAT...

@madhatter106 great to learn about an architectural style I didn't know about and that apparently, had not much influence in Europe - or I simply didn't notice yet Looks good so far ! I guess it will receive fancy colors ?... As it, without textures, it reminds me of the many 70's / late 70's buildings that are so common here, especially in public services. But usually, it's brown with grey and brown with grey, lol.
  8. "Scoty Modular Airport" project

I've started an ATC tower a few months ago but just left it unfinnished, going on with other projects - I'll be back on it when I'm done with what I have in the cooking currently I guess ^^'
  9. Arquennes - Old City (2)

I tend to infer some precise real life cities that could have been influences just to realize that this city is simply very realistically shaped - and simply represent very well lots of mid-sized cities in western europe, and that you nailed like the concept of them. Very well done
  10. RRetail Development

Dental clinic chains. I had no idea this could actually exist Othwerwise, nice to see you go on in BATing, looks great. I have nothing to add that @T Wrecks hadn't already said.
  11. SimCity 3000 BAT project

@Huston Wow, that was unexpected - and really nice There are a bunch of these small office towers built from the 60's to the 80's in any mid-size european city. Always good to have more of them
  12. Show us What you're Working On

@Simmer2 I was, of course, talking about the signboard letterings that are facing inwards, towards the central part of the roof, not all the four of them. Only the ones that are facing inwards and that have no reason to be painted here
  13. Show us What you're Working On

@Simmer2 Great stuff, but I agree with T Wrecks, it seems to be a little out of scale. Also it seems weird that there are texaco signboards overlooking the roof, where they are not visible from the ground and therefor useless. But still, lovely and "industrialy" shorn art deco architecture
  14. IDS's (mostly) Minnesota BATs

Great stuff here Texturing on that tower is indeed very well done, nicely atmospheric, we never have enough of this. And I also like a lot that small fire station - the perfect thing to be lotted in order to be placed along FAR - what I'll certainly do when it'll be out
  15. Krasner B.A.T. thread

First models exported, so I made a first quick lotting draft into the LotEditor. Due to the adaptation of proportions, which went a little gawky, what was 2X2 in sc3k and was supposed to be 3X2 maximum here, went as far as 3X3... Let's say nobody noticed... At least I hope people will like it.
  16. Lagos

(...Or maybe this one that just sounds like it could last forever and still hold your mind the same. Pretty good soundtrack to depict such a huge city I guess ? )
  17. Lagos

I haven't commented on your MD for a while - but for that particular entry, I must say that you're still getting better and you still surprises me ^^ Many images here have a particular shine, I always spot new details and I'll certainly come back to this more than once - as well as Lagos has been for years one of the few cities I'd like to go to one day. I especially like how you managed to somehow, extract a damn realistic "sparkle" from these Maloskero buildings. Thanks ! (Also, for anyone who may want some accurate soundtrack for this, why not some from this famous Lagos musician Fela Kuti ?...)
  18. Krasner B.A.T. thread

Been working on the back part today... It's coming up quite quickly.
  19. Show us What you're Working On

@Simmer2 Thx ^^ And normally I always forecast the proportions of a building right from the beginning so the +133% is already "done", which means I simply have pressed in my mind which proportions are more or less good, by habit. It seems good imo.
  20. Show us What you're Working On

Roof junk is done... There's still some detailing to add like flowerpots, curtains and stuff and I will move to the next model. As the original sc3k model is quite blurry please consider that I had to interpret some ambivalent heaps of pixels @Simmer2 Looks cool, I really like some of the sculptures. I know a few small towns with now closed industries that have similar stuff on the central plaza ^^ But aren't these bus shelters a little bit big ?... The benches also look out of scale.
  21. Show us What you're Working On

...As some may already know, for a second I thought that I've lost this in a saving issue. Fortunatelly I had a backup hidden somewhere, that I've saved almost by mistake basically... So I'm back on it. I had to re-make most of my advancement, by the same time I've improved the textures. I hope it looks better already. The earlier version seemed rather fake imo. ...That's still part of that sc3k revival project btw. I'll make this first one, the other similar 3X3 lot and a 4X4 or 4X5 higher (but still low-rise, probably not more than 4 floors) model of the same style, but from my own imagination
  22. SimCity 3000 BAT project

@nofunk That is looking great so far I made a rough comparison of the proportions with the original building, and maybe yours deserves very little vertical stretching. I may be mistaken though. That's probably not important.
  23. Linus van Pelt's BAT Thread

I don't know what to say - it looks very, very good so far
  24. AndisArt's BAT cookery

That's a shame... I don't think I've ever hit the technical limitations of the game like this... Nonetheless, this really small (and barely noticeable) default kept apart, it looks great
  25. Show us What you're Working On

@Simmer2 Not really related but, in addition to your excellent work the way you set it up in game is always very pleasant to look at
