  1. Scenes From Africa

    Unbelievable...
  2. It's been more than a year since I created this addon. (Time flies by so fast!) It still works on the current version of Simtropolis. If the "Activity" tab still shows circle avatars, simply refresh the page it should show the correct avatar display.
  3. I am concerned about Nonny.

It is September now. I do not want to say it yet but as each day passes, there is an increasing possibility that he may never return. I hope I am wrong.
  4. Day'n'Night

    How was that curve done?
  5. How to kill Bennet Music Corp?

I'm familiar with the BSC No Maxis Mod but how does one implement and create custom blockers? There are certain buildings (even a few custom buildings) I might want to temporarily stop growing (setting the growth rate to 255). But it seems that setting the growth rate isn't the whole picture.
  6. Myrtos Beach

I can't believe I missed this gem. This is absolutely sublime. Thanks for the kind words -korver
  7. 1st place Downtown Athens

    Superb work!
  8. Kroonburg downtown

Great job. Where is this exactly in the Kroonburg picture?
  9. Entry no.38 - The Apotex Refinery pt.1

I always like looking at this CJ primarily for the infrastructure!
  10. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/07/17/nice-terror-attack-police-vans-blocking-promenade-withdrawn-hour1/ ISIS claims it inspired the attack. Take note of the word 'inspired'. They are not claiming he acted under their orders. Unlike the 2015 Paris attacks, Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel does not seem to be an 'official' member of the group. ISIS released their images of the Paris attackers online showing them fighting in the battlefield and to praise them. But they don't have Bouhlel on their database. He was radicalized and probably operated on his own as a lone wolf outside ISIS- a copycat crime.
  11. I've seen footage and photos of the aftermath. It's hard to believe what you are looking at. How did a night of celebration turn to an eerie, bloody, creepy evening? The boulevard was flowing with blood. FYI, This is an interactive map of the route of the truck by the NYTimes: http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2016/07/14/world/europe/trail-of-terror-france.html
  12. A Failed Military Coup in Turkey

It was a bloody coup d'etat. At least 194 people killed as of press time. 14. I cannot imagine putting myself in the shoes of those who were there. The terror of running for your life from a truck chasing you at full speed watching bodies and people scream as they are rammed one by one. The terrorist tried to maximize his kills by turning to pursue people fleeing the area. Absolutely despicable. Another awful day.
  15. I am concerned about Nonny.

Ah, so that explains it. Good that I wasn't the only one concerned. It's been more than a month. I hope nothing terrible has happened. No Log-in since May 30 which is unusual for him.
  16. It's one of the most promising breakthroughs of the decade. CRISPR was co-discovered in 2012 by molecular biologist Professor Jennifer Doudna and Professor Emmanuelle Charpentier whose team at Berkeley, University of California was studying how bacteria defend themselves against viral infection. CRISPR is a biological system for altering DNA, giving scientists and doctors the ability to edit DNA. The promise and the possibilities are enormous. There is hope for families suffering from genetic diseases or disorders. And hopefully, new ways can be found to edit genes to prevent faulty ones from being passed down to future generations. Gene editing could be the end for many genetic conditions. Of course, there is also the very complex ethics issue. Give someone a centimeter and they want a kilometer; it's human nature. We could see the era of customized humans and the start of an equality problem in society. Gene editing has already saved some lives. This young baby was saved from an aggressive form of leukemia: The future looks promising. What are your thoughts? 17. Rogue One trailer released

Interesting. But my main concern with films today is the quality of writing (which is usually forgotten). I hope they polished the script this time.
  18. The lesson of Microsoft's Tay AI chatbot: Experiments are hard (but worth it) In March 2016, Microsoft launched the Twitter account of its experimental AI chatbot named Tay. Tay is designed to speak like a flippant 19 year old teenager on Twitter and learn from the internet. Unsurprisingly Tay was taken offline by Microsoft after a number of racist humans saw a vulnerability in the AI. Tay had posted a number of unacceptable racist, sexist, and offensive tweets including one where she denied the Holocaust. Business Insider: Microsoft is deleting its AI chatbot's incredibly racist tweets Tecnology Review: Why Microsoft Accidentally Unleashed a Neo-Nazi Bot Did she pass the Turing Test? The Turing test does not directly test whether the computer behaves intelligently. It tests only whether the computer behaves like a human being.
  19. Bombardiere's London/ English Bats

    These are lovely. Excellent work.
  20. Entry no.34 - Dresden Finale + previews of Central Pretoria

I really like how you weave the transportation networks. It must have taken hours.
  21. Explosions in Brussels

With regards to comments here about the pictures I posted, they were from the BBC (as seen above) which has strict standards about the type of pictures featured on the their website (ie. no excessive gore, dead bodies, amputations and mutilation). Moreover, these same pictures were also shared on many international news broadcasts, so suffice to say they are generally considered SFW. I would never post pictures of excessive gore or uncensored dead bodies.
  22. Explosions in Brussels

This is absolutely horrific. It follows the bombing and carnage in Turkey last week. It could be a reprisal for the Paris Terror Attack suspect's arrest. Terror Attacks on Metro Station and Airport in Brussels, Belgium
  23. What a shame. Gone forever just like many sites pulverized by ISIS. The loss of sites of historical and cultural heritage is priceless. Report: 31,000 Islamic State Women Pregnant with Jihadi Babies ISIS has to be defeated within the next few years. They have been making long-term preparations to make the war last through several generations for some time already. It's difficult to confirm numbers like these but in any case, raping and impregnation of captured women and recruiting jihadi brides are not unheard of.
  24. Qatari investors build country's first super car.

Those are tail lights? I thought someone was cooking raw beef on the back using the heat of the engines.
  25. Qatari investors build country's first super car.

That looks like an excellent snowplow. With some modifications, it can cut grass on lawns.
