Nice canal system going on there, or is it a river @michae95l? Anyway, you got your work cut out, and I am excited to see the end results!

It's a river system, with the seawalls. :)

Bonjour !

Nice pictures! I really like the Space Needle because I happen to live near Seattle. Next time please write in English since this is an English language forum. Use Google Translate if you need to. Thanks!

If those are landmarks with jobs, more brigdes. A lot.

When the sorrounding areas get populated, thousands of sims will be trying to get to their jobs and finding bottlenecks.

In any case, you could also wait for it to happen and build it when needed (which is a more realistic approach), but you should consider to planify where the new brigdes will go, to reserve space at each side of the river.

I'll work on those bridges. :)

More elevation and green areas. :)

The elevation changes for the current area are off shot, and those for the surrounding area are yet to be terraformed. Green? Thats's coming. ;)

Thanks guys!

@michae95l I would suggest a larger stadium, seems small compared to the parking garage

I thought about this, and am still thinking about it because though I've thought about this, I still have more thinking to do as to stop thinking about it would mean not to think.

Well, just to commit publicly to someday actually playing that region instead of (a) terraforming it manically and (b) manically choosing/testing new stuff in new combinaisons to put in it, here is a temporary picture of Islandsia (the name speaks for itself), a handmade one.  And if someone knows how to force SC4 to show that totally elusive upper right corner, please tell me (I managed the bottom left one by mosaicing, but my screen obdurately refuses to move eastward more than that...) The river might be a canal or something of the sort down the line, I haven't decided yet (I am trying JENX Quais de Seine and... aaaargh !)

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed.  But they produced Michael Angelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and The Renaissance.

In Switzerland, they had brotherly love and five hundred years of peace.  And what did that produce?

The cuckoo clock !

WORK  IN  PROGRESS --

The bridges over the eastern terminus of the Ems-Jade Ship Canal....

I used Tariely's slope mod to build approach ramps to a bridge tall enough for seagoing ships, figured out how to tunnel through the ramps to ease traffic congestion, and actually got the PEG Eroded Sandstone Mod to work!

Not bad for a guy that doesn't know one end of a terrain controller from the other !!

Lining up all the LBT props that I plan to mod. There's all kinds of stuff on that Mega Pack!

PrJ46e0.jpg

I'm already seeing those nice fountains and gazebos on some park set. There will be at least 30 prop families, plus timed props and whatnot. The only thing I'm dreading is modding the cars, it'll be a bit of a tedious work.

Great to see! IMO it is one of my favorite mega-packs to date. I have been wanting to mod the rest of the props for awhile but have never got around to it.

If you're curious, I have already created prop families for the cars (grouped a few different ways by number of cars over number of spaces). Timing them would be tedious work, but if you want to use mine as a starting base, feel free.

Thanks! I'll certainly check them out. I also want to group them over number of cars x number of spaces, and I want to have both commercial and residential cluster families much like the Maxis ones. So it will indeed be a bit tedious.

You too, heh? I have been sorting and modding mega packs in my plugins folder for a whole year now and I am not nearly finished! Instances, exemplars, properties ... never ending story :P

Fun fact: In older times *cue shaky voice and trembling hands resting on a cane* prop pack uploaders used to include a sample lot that displayed all of the props in the pack. This had two advantages:

  • Downloaders could see at a glance what the pack would offer them
  • Downloaders could check against screenshots whether everything displayed properly in their game

What happened? Well, downloaders didn't bother to read the description, simply slapped it all into their plugins folder and then complained bitterly about the "useless extra lots" that mysteriously appeared in their parks or landmarks menu... :meh:

Quite. Although one of the benefits of PIM-X over the regular Lot Editor, you get a visual list of props and textures to scroll through. For me, I much prefer this way of working. I think the issue many lotters have with this approach is that they tend to load their entire plugins suites when lotting. Which you can get away with using the Maxis LE, but PIM-X will CTD every time.

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.
