There's something fascinating about Japanese cities. The fact that you could easily find a million story monolith of a building right next to a technologically ancient little hut is something very unique.

That's pretty similar to the mid-density neigbourhoods of my cities, and I'm not even doing north american ones!

Hello all.

As some of you already know, I have been busy creating an entire Oil Depot complex. I have already posted a few pics on another thread but I thought that I should post them on the proper thread.

Thank you for providing us with such amazing content!!!

Where did you find those grey tanks and the refinery (?) building that are shown mainly in images 5 and 9? I am aware of nbvc's oil port set and Decius' Rising Sun Oil stuff, I know the refinery props by Tag_One and the RJM team, and I guess I'm familiar with jestarr's mega props 1-9. However, I have never seen these models. Oh, wait. This is Citynut's modular oil refinery, isn't it? I guess I'll have to download and inspect those CNUT prop packs because he seems to have some nice stuff.

Got it, thank you! I took a good look at all of citynut's props yesterday, and I'm thinking about using his refinery props for additional IRM I-D lots, whereas Tag_One's shinier refinery props may end up as IRM I-M lots, or even I-HT. It's a pity that citynut's stuff doesn't seem to have night lights, and some of the vertical ladders are seriously overscaled. However, the overall impression is just too good to pass on these.

I also discovered some warehouses I haven't used yet in one of jestarr's mega packs (6? 7?), so thank you for making me take a second look! I would've missed out on a lot of great stuff otherwise!

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed.  But they produced Michael Angelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and The Renaissance.

In Switzerland, they had brotherly love and five hundred years of peace.  And what did that produce?

The cuckoo clock !

Once again, I'm planning more than playing the game. Here are networks and zones maps for my main region, recently restarted.

I frankly thought that this terrain would be easier to work with, but an increasingly strict realism approach is making everything harder: I'm trying to simulate natural city growing, wealth segregation, RL scaled infraestructure, reasonably dense CBDs (with space for parking and avoiding skyscrapers to clump together as W2W buildings), walkability, etc.

Networks' Map: Highways  - Avenues and Carriageways - Railways - Terraformed Canals

Zones' Map:

  • CBD
  • Main Commercial Roads
  • High Wealth Residences
  • Medium Wealth Residences
  • Low Wealth Residences
  • Mixed Residencial+Industrial
  • Heavy Industrial
  • University
  • *Stripped: low density

More quality overload for my parks menu. Appreciating the customizable approach, I think it would be great to have some bigger ploppables too, mainly for lazy begginers like me.

SM2 Rail Service Yard 1 is almost done.
Revamped the texture (there is a little old pond in there too), added more details and created several sets of timed props for that special touch!
It will have jobs and it is transit enabled for both freight and passenger trains but it will not be a freight yard. Got to keep it real  ;D
SM2 Rail Service Yard 2 will follow soon.

Here are the latest pic.

I hardly ever do any one of these sort of beachy type towns, but it had to happen at some point. The empty lots will consist of residences for wealthy people and there will be golf courses everywhere, so that the Lexus and Audi drivers have somewhere to go in the weekends. Hopefully @antsel can help me out with that.

Already thinking about removing PvM's De Admirant (the white high rise on the lower left). I like the builfing, but it seems a little misplaced. We'll se how it looks with some flora added. :)
