KOSC Presents: Logistics Essentials (Formerly IdM - Trucking Essentials) Introduction Do you want to recreate a large distribution center with ample truck parking space of all angles and populate them with tons of random trailers from different freight and logistic companies? If so, then you've come to the right place! Package Overview This package contains a set of 175 overlay textures, offered in either white or yellow (mostly) paint. There are 36 prop families for @MushyMushy's HD North American trucks and cabs, covering all bases and angles. Update 2.0 introduces 16 new prop families that cover some of the more irregular angles of @Angry Mozart's cabs. Additional details are in the enclosed README. Install Instructions Drop the file in your My Documents/SimCity 4/Plugins folder. It is highly recommended to load this file last, as the original prop descriptor files are overridden here. Failure to do so might result in the families not loading properly in-game. Obsolete Files The following files are made obsolete as of version 2.0. Please remove these files from your Plugins folder, or use the included Cleanitol file with BSC Cleanitol. IdM_TruckingEssentials_MM_PropFamilies.dat KOSC_IdM_TruckEssentials_Textures.dat KOSC_TruckParking_SHKBases.dat (found in Costco Super Distribution Center) Dependencies The textures are standalone and will not require any dependencies. AKNOWLEGDEMENTS: This mod would have fundamentally impossible to do without the work of Rivit, MGB, Gobias and KOSC. I'm basically blending their creations or mimicking them, and using their software to create usable plugins. DESCRIPTION: King of SimCity recently published a repository of its SuperSHK and SuperSHK+ textures and taking the opportunity to expand the coverage of my sidewalk mod, I've downloaded it and created this custom textures, that REPLACE KOSC's ones. Why replace? Because it allows you to use them directly on any lot that already uses SuperSHK parkings, and because I'm lazy enough to not even try to get my own IID range. As a design choice, these textures don't include the coloured tiles on the paving (because keeping them produced some strange cropped and jagged patterns), but only the base tiles, subtlely wealthified like in the sidewalk mod. This is the Sudden Valley version of the retexture, but it uses an open source texture that merely matches the colour and grain of Gobias' mod, so there is no actual redistributing of his work. In the near future and according to the users' demand, I'll release more versions for SD and HD grass textures; same thing if I manage to publish the basalt tiles' sidewalk. COMPATIBILITY: This mod REPLACES the original SuperSHK and SuperSHK+ (FAR) textures, so get sure it will load AFTER THE ORIGINAL KOSC FILES; alternatively, you can overwrite them to use less disk space, but that's not necessary. As they are a replacement pack, the textures will be automatically changed on all lots that use the original textures. FILE FORMAT: The files are updated on 7z format, because it does wonders with repetitive bitmap files. You'll be downloading the full pack on just 3.4 Mb, while the full repository is 180 Mb. To open these files, you'll need 7Zip, which is a free, open source, cross-platform, lightweight and programmable file compressor (unexplainably not the standard for everything); download it here. If, for any reasons, you cannot open the file or can't download 7zip, send me a PM or left a comment here and I'll upload a more compatible zip version in no time DEPENDENCIES: <-- copied from the original SuperSHK readme "None. This set will serve as a future dependency for my [KOSC] lots. While it is technically a standalone texture pack, SHK Parking Pack is very, very highly recommended to take full advantage." As is obvious, this mod will work but look awkward without using both Gobias' Sudden Valley terrain mod and my Veredas Santiaguinas sidewalk mod. You can also achieve a more seamless look complementing with MGB's TGN for Sudden Valley. Even more obvious, as this is a replacement pack for a dependency, you'll see nothing of it working unless you have grown or plopped lots that use the textures: look for lots that require the SuperSHK textures or use KOSC Superparking modular lots to create your own parking lots in game. LICENSE: This mod has a Creative Commons Attribution - Non Commercial 4.0 International license, what means you can use all its content directly or creating something derivatively, as long as you give explicit attribution to all previous authors, and as long as you don't charge for accessing or using this content or a derivative you create of it. To create the textures, I used a grass texture on the public domain and Paint.NET to mimic the colour of Gobias' Sudden Valley; and obviously, KOSC's SuperSHK repository. This last one is subject to its own license (check the linked post above) and previous authors, particularly Shokthrpy. KOSC presents: SuperSHK+ FA3 Parking Textures Introduction Happy New Year! Need some irregularity in your lotting? SuperSHK is back with a plus and a whole assortment of FA3-aligned textures for you to play with. Overview This set contains at total of 482 new overlay textures. SuperSHK+ takes the original set and adds quite a bit of additional support for FA3 angled pathways. Additionally, there are a host of extra textures included meant to patch some missing areas from the first set. Details These textures are broken into 4 DATs. The included resource guide offers a slightly more detailed look at the different texture options offered here. DAT 1 - Curbs: Contains an assortment of FA3 aligned curb pieces and connectors. DAT 2 - Parking Transitions: Contains transitions and intersections between different parking types with FA3 curbs. DAT 3 - Pseudo-FA3 (PFA3): Contains a set of FA3 aligned orthogonal parking spaces and a few basic transitions. DAT 4 - Extras: Adds medians and additional support for S-Curves from the original set. Install Instructions Drop the files in your My Documents/SimCity 4/Plugins folder. These should show up under the overlay texture section in the lot editor and PIM-X. Dependencies NONE. This set is a dependency. Lotters that want to take full advantage of this set will need the SHK Parking Pack and base set: Credit to shokthrpy for the original SHK set. Are you currently using @kingofsimcity's excellent SuperSHK+ MEGA Parking Textures? Would you prefer them with TGN-compatible grasses? How about some custom sidewalk choices too? Otherwise, perhaps you want to make a custom set just for your setup? Well now all this is possible, thanks to the generosity of KOSC. For full details of SuperSHK+ MEGA Parking Textures, please see the original release, I won't duplicate it all here. Note that these files are intended to be a total replacement for both of these packages: When you run the linked installer (had to host on my Google Drive, the size got a bit out of control), you can optionally select SWN, TGN and TSR versions to install. Any combination of these, including TGN support with Maxis Sidewalks or SWN support with Maxis Grasses can be installed. This is all controlled by telling the installer you use either or both mods, then selecting the style you use. Select TSR support if you use Rivit's Urban TSR streets, it'll change some pieces to match Rivit's mod. Note that KOSC has uploaded a Do-it-yourself kit for making totally custom variants, please see this thread for full details and a link to the repository for use with GoFSH texture automation: Installation Unlike the original mod, these have been re-packaged into an installer. This just makes installation way simpler and less prone to error, given the number of choices available (currently 24 different sets). By default they install into either your SWN or TGN folders, since the use of this download means you should at least be using one or the other. If you don't select either SWN or TGN from the first options screen, the installer won't actually install anything. Included is a resource guide containing a general breakdown of the set as well as a sample lot (found in the parks menu) and layout examples. There are also PIM-X groups included, for better organization and some time saving while digging through this massive set! These included resources are installed (optionally), to the following folder: My Documents\SimCity 4\STEX_Downloads\KOSC SuperSHK Parking This is to avoid clutter in your plugins folder. Lotters, copy the contents of SSHK_PIMX_Groups.txt into your groups.ini file located in the PIM-X install directory. Note if you were using the previous release, this file supersedes the previous one named "PIMXGroups.txt". As of November 6, 2013, BJ's operated 200 BJ's clubs in fifteen states and employed approximately 25,000 team members (both full- and part-time). KOSC presents: SuperParking Modular Parking – Extension Set Introduction This is the 2nd expansion pack of my SuperParking modular parking series, which unlocks even more ridiculous combinations for your parking lots. This set adds some much needed larger basic pieces and covers advanced pathing, S-curves, and more. Package Overview There are two different packages available for download: one for Right-hand Drive and Left-hand Drive. Choose one. The set contains a set of 44 lots. There are 2 functional “parking garage” pieces, with Transit Enabled connections which are located in the Misc Transportation menu, and 42 cosmetic pieces located near the top of the Parks menu. All of the menus are grouped and color coded according to the specific type of parking, ranging from A to D type. These are broken down in the included readme, which also includes a couple of useful tips for some of the more complex combinations. DAMN Support is available with v 1.2 of my DAMN menus. General Stats Street Entrance Plop Cost: $250 Capacity: 1,000 Avenue Entrance Plop Cost: $500 Capacity: 3,000 Cosmetic Pieces Plop Cost: $0 - $9* *The minor plop cost introduced here was to allow for cleaner organization of menu items, so that like groups are kept together. All of the cosmetic pieces are considered “neutral lots”, meaning they have pretty much no stats, come at no maintenance cost, and are not of any particular wealth. The detailing on these lots were kept minimal, as to ensure that MMPs can be used on them liberally. Install Instructions Pick one version (either RHD or LHD) and drop the files into your My Documents/SimCity 4/Plugins folder. Dependencies SP Modular Parking Base Set SP Modular Parking Expansion 1: Diagonal Set Not truly necessary, but some of these lots will feel a little pointless without the base sets. It is also HIGHLY recommended that you get the latest up-to-date versions of these releases. In my humble opinion, @mattb325's UK Retailers simply looked too amazing to be used without @kingofsimcity's new parking textures. So here I am, combining the work of two great members in one upload. Thank you to @twalsh102 for notifying me of dependencies I failed to list and wrongly listed. --------------- Installation: --------------- If you want to override the original lots: Once you download Mattb325's Retailers pack, please delete all of the old *.sc4lot files and replace them with the ones in this upload. IMPORTANT: it is key you keep Mattb325's *.sc4model and *.sc4desc files or the lots will not work as intended. If you want separate instances: You can safely delete everything except Mattb325's *.sc4model files. KOSC presents: SuperSHK MEGA Parking Textures Introduction Take parking lots to the next level! SuperSHK MEGA Textures is the backbone of my Superparking Project, and combines the original Volume 1 alongside the newly complete Volume 2 set. This MEGA set combines both for the ultimate parking lot texture resource for SC4. Overview This combined set contains at total of 1281 overlay textures (352 from Vol 1). Volume 2 contains a mind-boggling 929 new overlay textures. This set focus on expanding the core aspects of Volume 1 while adding some rather ridiculous new options. As with before, many of the new textures influences were found primarily from around North America's tech centers including Overland Park, Denver Tech Corridor, Silicon Valley, and Irvine. Additionally, some other inspiration came from various locations around the UK, including Portsmouth - these were largely responsible for my designing of a bunch of UK-style road markings. As it is now officially part of this combined set, SuperSHK Parking Textures Vol. 1 is now obsolete! This set retains every single texture from volume 1 and provides some overall enhancements to a large amount of them, including the following: Smoother curves Alignment fixes Smoothing and resizing of existing road markings to maintain consistency Furthermore, the "Extra" textures included with both modular sets are also no longer necessary. To aid you in cleaning any leftover old stuff, there is a Cleanitol file included. You may also refer to it for manual deletion as well. Details These textures are broken into 8 DATs. The included resource guide offers more detailed explanations. DAT 1 - Ortho: Combines a ton of new pieces with the original Ortho set. Deals mostly with orthogonal parking and associated transitions. DAT 2 - Islands, Paths & Curbs: Combines the original set of Islands & Curbs with Paths (excluding markings). Adds many brand new curb pieces and transitions from various different parking types. DAT 3 - Diagonals: Combines the original set of Diagonal with new ones. Adds islands, offset diagonals and more orthogonal transitions. DAT 4 - Markings: Contains road marking goodness! Highlights include more block-end stop markings, pathing, and an entire section of UK-specific ones. Also comes with a way to transform standard parking spaces into "boxed" ones. DAT 5 - D-Types: Contains significant support of the original SHK diagonal-oriented spaces. Includes a full complement of transitions, curbs and some bonus special pieces including handicapped spots and an alternate style. DAT 6 - Combo Pieces: Adds an enhanced set of standard parking and curb textures with sidewalks and grass. DAT 7 - Miscellaneous: Includes some additional pieces that didn't quite belong elsewhere like parking-to-path transitions and S-curves. DAT 8 - Alternate Style: Adds an alternate orthogonal parking style in two colors. Feldberg Employees - 22,000 Stores - 145 Founded - 1954 Closed - 1999 February of 1999, New England lost another major regional retail chain of store. Caldor, the company founded by Carl and Dorothy Bennett in 1951, turned to dust. This was the end of the sales pitch for the 4th largest retail chain in America. 22,000 workers took home pink slips for their trouble. 145 stores in nine states were put up for lease. Caldor got it's name from combining the first names of the Bennetts, Carl & Dorothy and opened one small store in Port Chester, New York. The Bennetts sold Caldor to Associated Dry Goods Corp., and in 1986, ADG merged with the May Department Stores Co. In 1991, Caldor went public and grew into a company with 2.5 billion in annual sales. Though in recent years, Caldor failed to distinguish itself from other regional discounters, like Ames Department Stores and could not compete with retail giants like Wal-Mart, Kmart and Target. _______________________________________ This is part of my series of bankrupted department chains that I have created for your Sims to relive which what we had experienced in North America. Ames, Zayre, Woolco, Bradlees, and now Caldor all have been swallowed up by the effects of Sam Walton's, Wal-Mart. This BAT was originally created by Bobbo662 (aka B62). Verbatim from Bobbo's original 2006 readme: Welcome to Bradlees! Headquarters: Braintree, MA President: Peter Thorner Employees: 16,000 (Jan 1994) Founded: 1958 Closed: 2000 A little bit like Ames Department Store but with bigger stores located in bigger towns,and a very unique layout. They offered general merchandise with many discounts all year around. They had 130 stores before they filed for Chapter 11, and then came back with 102 stores in 1997 up to 105 stores in 2000. CEO Peter Thorner cleaned up the financial problems of the company and wanted to see Bradlees operating 150 stores. They did opened new stores including one in a former Caldor in Staten Island. Emerging from Chapter 11 in February of 1999, nobody cold have predicted the kind of end they announced on December 26th 2000. (Isn't that something, spend all your hard earn cash on christmas and then come back from the holidays and WHAMMO! - no job!) Bradless store layout was different from Wal-Mart and K-Mart. Wide open, entering the store you could see from one end of the store to the other, not that the store was small, but the ceiling was high, asiles not tall, it was simple, and easy to shop. First Bradlees opened their doors in 1958 in New London, CT. The name "Bradlees" was taken from Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, cT where the Company's earliest planning meetngs were held. The Stop & Shop Co. acquired the chain in 1961. The Company operated 105 stores in seven (7) Northereastern states: Main, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. This set covers diagonals - largely uncharted territory - by adding a plethora of new parking options for your cities including the ability to create fully-diagonal oriented parking lots. As if that wasn't enough, there's a wealth of different orthogonal transitions and connector pieces to combine with the base set for even more ridiculous combinations. Package Overview There are two different packages available for download: one for Right-hand Drive and Left-hand Drive. Choose one. The set contains a set of 50 lots. There are 3 functional “parking garage” pieces, with Transit Enabled connections which are located in the Misc Transportation menu, and 47 cosmetic pieces located near the top of the Parks menu. All of the menus are grouped and color coded according to the specific type of parking, including A, B, and Joiner categories. For users that prefer less clutter, there's DAMN Support for these! All of the menus are grouped and color coded according to the specific type of parking, ranging from A to D type. These are broken down in the included readme. For those that prefer less cluttered menus, there's DAMN Support for these. General Stats Street Entrances Plop Cost: $250 Capacity: 1,000 Road Entrance Plop Cost: $500 Capacity: 1,500 Cosmetic Pieces Plop Cost: $0 - $6* *The minor plop cost introduced here was to allow for cleaner organization of menu items, so that like groups are kept together. All of the cosmetic pieces are considered “neutral lots”, meaning they have pretty much no stats, come at no maintenance cost, and are not of any particular wealth. The detailing on these lots were kept minimal, as to ensure that MMPs can be used on them liberally. Install Instructions Pick one version (either RHD or LHD) and drop the files into your My Documents/SimCity 4/Plugins folder.
