@MeMyself&I Thanks! But no, they aren't. They are props in the SFBT Train Props release. Click for the link.
  2. Show us What you're Working On

@simmytu I'm really liking that central business district you got going on. As said, I'm delivering an update to the station. I solved the prop issue by just replacing the catenaries with the SFBT cats. I figured out some other issues as well and added details here and there. Not too much longer now.
  3. Sydney

Amazing. You almost make me want to start a CJ.

This is awesome man! I decided to go ahead and finish up the station I was working on. Not quite done yet but making headway. It seems as if the props are conflicting, I'm also missing the ICE train-set from the lot. So that's an issue as well. The textures are custom made, and yes, I even included wires from each signal box if you look closely.
  5. Show us your Mosaics

i ABSOLUTELY need to know what that large factory on the bottom shore with the huge smoke stack is? And possibly the one to the left as well?

Thanks! I appreciate all of the kind words. It's a good feeling when another person can really see the aesthetic that you were aiming for. I've been a member (not always present) of the SC4 community for 10 years now (a member of ST for 8) and I've learned quite a few things along the way. Maybe one day when I have some time, I might eventually piece together a CJ or something. The Navy takes a lot of my time. Who knows though? Your commentary makes me want to hurry and finish building.
  7. Show us What you're Working On

Yes. I took some stone texture, mapped it out, then I used Illustrator to draw the road markings, apply some layer styles, etc. I'll show you. The city is a pretty "loose" creation using a lot of buildings from London. I wanted a European feel so I made this little square. (It also doubles as a staging area for the rail station adjacent to the square, city and long distance bus service.) It seems as if a lot of people liked those images, so I'll share another. So far I have a pretty basic skeleton of the city & all the transit excluding the underground lines, enjoy. A lot of the streets are modeled after London neighborhoods. [FULL SIZE] [FULL SIZE]

Working on trying to piece together this small section of my city. Lots of texture making and lotting required.

What prop pack do you use to populate the ped areas? I'm lotting some things and can't decide whether I want to use Maxis sims or something else.

Everybody wants to be Cobble Stoned! Name: 'Cobble Stoned' HD Sidewalk Mod Description: The 'Cobble Stoned' HD Sidewalk Mod can help you relive your nerd fantasy of medieval sidewalks and stuff like that. The mod will be together with your roads and produce a plethora of beautiful HD sidewalk tiles. This is only suitable for medieval settings/urban settings/DENSE suburban areas. Just install it once, I'm sure you will love it. Installation: Simply put the .dat located inside the download in your C:/MyDocuments/SimCity4/Plugins folder. How to Uninstall: Remove the .dat from your plugins folder. You CANNOT have any other sidewalk mod installed while this is installed as they will conflict. Enjoy the fruits of my labor and sweat.
  12. Progress / Handa port & Atayami

They are the BAT work of somy, a Japanese batter. I'm not sure exactly where they are, it's been years since I've downloaded them, but I'm sure if you find his work, you'll see them there as well. Try the SC4D Japanese BAT thread.

Everyone can always appreciate some work from Kelis!
  14. Can't find it?... Ask here!

I swear I could have had one. Maybe not.
  15. Can't find it?... Ask here!

So I've been an active member for quite some time now. I swear I had a version of the Battersea Power Station with textures but I lost my plugins. Would anyone on here have a copy of that file? I can't remember who batted it and why it's no where to be found.
  16. SC4 misses you. It almost makes me want to buy CS just so I can experience your work

Might I recommend creating a lot for that AVE-2 abrupt ending? maybe leading into a company or something. It throws off the picture. ' making some progress on Carlisle. Started creating some textures for a train station/roundabout/plaza type area. Hopefully have these in game by tomorrow so I can lot that hotel by Tonks.

@kingofsimcity amazing shot! Everyone can appreciate a little microcosm. I dug up some pictures of a little city that I was working on named Carlisle. Completely lotted in Lot Editor. Every single, building. I mad good progress. But my files are on the other side of the country so I had to start over. On the left side, there's a train terminal and also another one on the right side. I had a central business area going with some monuments on the West side of the city and east side. Kind of going for a London/American city feel. sadly, I had to start from scratch. I always start with a skeleton and a rough idea of how I want the city. I'm just afraid it won't amount to what I had before. But I'm sure it will be even better. I even created custom textures. In due time.

@Hotwheeler: I'm loving the NYC you have there. The only suggestion I have to you is to possibly use a wider range of road networks. Like the 6 lane avenue, 5 lane OWR. It makes for a more realistic NYC, and I notice you roads have a slight slope going on. [Click pictures to view in 1920x1080 resolution.] Nothing much going on. I'm just laying down some infrastructure and grid for my city, Carlisle which will be completely lotted in lot editor. This is always the first step in kind of branching out. My inspiration is London. Not many London bats other than commercial, but I can make it work. I even have St.Helens and the Gherkin next to each other. I'll create a CJ of some sort eventually. (The road tiles represent a future pedestrian path or alleyway.)
  20. nos.17 Lot Development

I'm liking the lots. Always a supporter. But one thing I might change if I were you are the textures, they look repetitive and maybe download a variety of cars. LBT and VIP have some great packs, you have to learn a little Spanish and French though.
  21. Show us What you're Working On

I'm loving the scale of that NY recreation. My only comment would be just to keep your ideas open and approach any problem you have with an open mind. I started laying out the skeleton of my new city. Doing a bit of flattening for the business area and need to lay down 4 or 5 railway stations. (Yes, I know the UI is up.)

bravo. We can never get enough Tri-State buildings.
  23. Just bought CitiesXL '12

I haven't posted on the forum in ages, but.. Just because Sim City 4 is 9 years doesn't make it great. I'd much rather play SC4 then CXL. The custom content keeps it as a great game and always fresh. You can build to your heart's content even though there are SOME restrictions. With that being said, CXL isn't a bad game but some of its mechanics throw me off and don't allow its players to really plan their cities as SC4 would. -Deion

Now you can be dirty too! Name: 'Civil Grunge' Sidewalk Mod Description: The 'Civil Grunge' Sidewalk Mod is a sidewalk mod based on urban, gritty Euro cities which aren't quite gritty as they seem. The sidewalk mod is a gray sandstone that works well in urban and medium/high density suburban areas. The sidewalk mod replaces your city/town's sidewalks and gives them a more gritty and custom look. Installation: Simply put the .dat located inside the download in your C:/MyDocuments/SimCity4/Plugins folder. How to Uninstall: Remove the .dat from your plugins folder. You CANNOT have any other sidewalk mod installed while this is installed as they will conflict. Have fun with your dirty sidewalks!
  25. Show us your Downtown!

Just a little something I've been working on for a while now. It's a completely lotted city based after mostly London with a hint of Chicago and New York.
