Hatsukaichi - The Port + Extra
Ke|is posted a City Journal entry in Saitama Prefecture - The Port of Japan
• Update #8 || Hatsukaichi - The Port + Extra • ############################################################################## • Hello everyone, today I want to share with all of you the last update of Hatsukaichi. We have visited this wonderful town in the last 2 updates but I wanted to leave the port for the last update of Hatsukaichi. Why ? I have put a lot of effort into making this port and I'm really happy with the result, to me the port of Hatsukaichi means a step forward in my way to the perfect recreation of the Japanese landscape. I hope you enjoy all the pictures and the update itself • • In the past, the Hatsukaichi lighthouse was located far from the population and the buildings. This was previously a small peninsula far from the habitable zones of Hatsukaichi • • Due to the strong demand in the country and the shortage of land, the city was gradually gaining space to the sea and today the lighthouse is part of the town itself • • To understand the progress of the port first it is necessary to explain its past. The port is divided into 3 parts, in these two pictures you can see the old port; this one was the first port of Hatsukaichi. It's shape is quite simple, just a small zone created on a a shallow area, building it was simple and for the small and old boats there was no problem of depth ( In the past Hatsukaichi used its port only to supply fish for its inhabitants ) • • When the people of Hatsukaichi realized that the fishing could be a good business, they built an extension of the old port, the part two. Part two consisted in building a dock for ships a little bigger and deeper where the first fishing companies could be established. The Hatsukaichi fish market was also built • • Part two of the port was built between the lighthouse and the old port of Hatsukaichi • • In this image you can appreciate how the old port (Part 1) and the extension (part 2) are perfectly connected along the shoreline • • Currently part 2 of the Hatsukaichi port is normally used by small boats because the larger ships use the new port that we will see below. A small security post was also built to maintain maritime control of the area • • The new port of Hatsukaichi (Part 3) is bigger and more modern, its docks are more spacious and functional and it has much more space for the workers and their trucks • • The part 3, the new port of Hatsukaichi is the heart of the town, most of the inhabitants are working here, fishing is the main business for this people and Hatsukaichi has it own fame. It is located far of the city center, far from the main ports and industries of the prefecture. Its fish is fresh and it is very famous in the entire prefecture of Saitama, for that reason during the all day ships are transporting fish from here to the main port of the Prefecture, located in Tokyu, the biggest city of Saitama Prefecture • ################################################################################## • If you are one of those people who usually come to Hatsukaichi to buy fish or you are just passing by, I recommend you visit this small town located west of Hatsukaichi • • It really has nothing special but for those people who live in the big cities of the Prefecture small towns like this are pure fresh air, simply walk through its small and narrow streets while listening to the sound of the Saitama Sea • • The Saitama Prefecture It is a huge place, it is known as the port of Japan, the whole prefecture is destined to the sea and not only the big international ports are important, ports and places like these contribute to keep our Prefecture in perfect operation. I hope you enjoyd your visit and until the next time my friends • ############################################################################## Greetings / Saludos / Groeten # Jonathan.- 15 Comments

Hatsukaichi - Closer View
Ke|is posted a City Journal entry in Saitama Prefecture - The Port of Japan
• Update #7 || Hatsukaichi - Closer View • ############################################################################## • Hello everyone, in the last update we've seen Hatsukaichi from the heights, now is time to get closer and see all the details that this village can offer to us. This update has a great amount of pictures and all of them are focused in the village of Hatsukaichi and non in its port. We will visit the port in the next update. • • This is Japan and that means that you can reach all places easily. You can reach Hatsukaichi by car; using the Highway, national road or just driving across the roads of the prefecture. By train and also by ferry. in this picture you can see the Highway that cross Saitama from south to north and also the Shinkansen line, it has not station in Hatsukaichi. • • Trains are everywhere, even if only one rail line cross the village there are trains passing through Hatsukaichi all the time • • Here is where the national road is connected with Hatsukaichi, it is one of the entries of the village • • Hatsukaichi during normal days • • The first school in Hatsukaichi, still in function • • There are not too many flats in this village, most of the areas are covered by old low houses • • Some trains parked right in front of the Hatsukaichi station • • The sea has always been good friend in Japan, anyway it is better to keep distances • • The city hall and the Hatsukaichi temple • ( More info later) • Hatsukaichi at night (Very nice and quiet place to live) • ############################################################################## Greetings / Saludos / Groeten # Jonathan.- 11 Comments

• Update #5 || Toba - Bay of Saitama • ############################################################################## • Toba is a small town located in bay of Saitama. It has a population around 55.000 inhabitants and as most of these villages located in the bay of Saitama it produces rice and fish. It is located in the South of Handa peninsula, almost where the bay of Saitama begins. From Toba you can reach the new Saitama's airport very Quickly because is located nearby and since the last year is also possible reach Kawasaki easily due the new Tunnel that cross the bay of Saitama and connects Kawasaki with Handa Peninsula. • • Towns like Toba are very popular in the last years, why ? It's quite simple. Here you can find all you need to have a normal life...the transport is perfectly connected with all parts of Saitama and the rest of Japan but life here is much simpler and easier than a chaotic urban area...• • Yes, Toba is also connected with the rest of the Prefecture by train. Trains are really important in Japan and every single village of town must have their railway lines and stations. You can reach from Toba using the train one of the Saitama's central stations in 1 hour more or less... • • The noise from the trains is part of the city, there are trains crossing the city and reaching the train station during all day, there are some trains at night too • • There is nothing really important or special in this town, standard layouts for roads and buildings. Everything has to be efficient here. [In the center of those pictures you can see the city hall] • Toba is also connected by the Highways system of Saitama. • • Some of the streets and areas of Toba, as I said is a quiet and normal location of the metropolitan area Saitama • • This is the port of Toba. Its and old port and in the past most imporant part of this town. Today the port is used by the inhabitants of Toba and it has not an important role in trade of the prefecture, but in the past this port was important to bring fresh fish to a big number of person in this area when the transport system was not that good... anyway the Toba's port is very popular among people of this small town and they love to visit it every day to buy some fresh fish or get some of the ferries to go somewhere in the Prefecture...• • Students and workers, the trains are filled with them and they come from city center every single night... • • The natural barrier that protects the bay of Saitama from big waves makes it possible to built all those big and small ports along the shore. As you can see the protections are not really large. This also affects the number of inhabitants, making possible more urbanization areas along the bay • • Thanks for your visit and I hope you enjoy this update about TOBA • ############################################################################## ~ Greetings from TOBA, Saitama Prefecture ~ ############################################################################## Greetings / Saludos / Groeten # Jonathan.

• Update #4 || East Enokido Rail Line • ############################################################################## • Enokido is a town located between the bay of Saitama and the mountains of Handa. Enokido is a town with around 120.000 inhabitants and it is part of the metropolitan area of Saitama. Today we will visit the East part of Enokido which is mostly a residential zone • • There are two rail lines going through Enokido. One goes through the center of Enokido and the other one goes through the East part of Enokido. Today we will visit the "East Enokido Rail line" which has some interesting views of this part of Enokido • • The rail lines run along the Kasumori canal. This canal is used to supply water to this part of Saitama which has a great number of rice fields. As you can see the Kasumori canal is very close to the railways • • As I said, East Enokido is mostly a residential zone and not just that, Enokido is a old town and some parts still has the old Japanese architecture style, from the train you can see a lot of these houses, they are made in wood • • The Enokido rail yard is located here. There are coming trains from the south part of Saitama, in this part of Saitama there are a lot of villages and towns and this rail yard serves to all those trains which are operating in this zone of Saitama • • At the end of the railyard there is also a freight train station. As you can imagine, this station is very important for Enokido and also for Saitama and its production • • Here in this picture you can see one of the symbols of Saitama, in most of the villages you can find one of those water towers. They were built for a company from Dresden. (BIG THANKS takemethere) • • "DIN DON" Welcome to "Jr Enokido East" station, as always the train is on time • • During the night the trains are still running through the East of this fantastic Japanese town. I hope you enjoy your trip in one of our trains • ~ Greetings from Enokido, Saitama Prefecture ~ ##################### ~ R - E - P - L - I - E - S ~ ############################################################################## tariely Thank you my friend ! Ke|is posted a City Journal entry in Saitama Prefecture - The Port of Japan
• Update #3 || Progress / Handa port & Atayami • ############################################################################## • Hello guys, I hope everything is going perfect for all of you. Today I want to share with you some pictures to show you my progress in the region. I'm working in the surroundings areas of the Saitama international airport and the Handa Port. Most of the time I'm working creating new low residential areas and farms but also I've started to work in the Handa port and its power plant. As you can expect, these progress are taking me a lot of time but I'm happy with the result so far • • This area is very populated and highways, national roads and rail ines are everywhere • • Itayama and villages are surrounded by rice fields. Rice is one of the largest industries in the region • • The center of Itayami, where you can find the market, city hall and several kind of shops... • • Moriyama is less populated than Itayami, most of its surface are rice fields. Those villages are fantastic places to live far away of the noise and chaos of the city but perfectly connected by train, roads and highways with the rest of the Saitama Prefecture • • Green cranes in the entrance of Handa port. This is the oldest Saitama's container terminal, not able to work with large and modern ships • ##################### ~ R - E - P - L - I - E - S ~ ############################################################################## lucasfg3 Thank you so much, I'm glad you like it. sucram17 Do you want to see more ? SIAT / Saitama International Airport
Ke|is posted a City Journal entry in Saitama Prefecture - The Port of Japan
(Click HERE to get a full size image) • Update #2 || SIAT / SAITAMA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT • ############################################################################## • After some years of work, the new Saitama International Airport is finished. Everything is completed and working fine and the airport is ready to connect Saitama with the rest of the world. In this update we will see all the interesting points of this magnificent marvel of engineering • • The first step was to build a large island in the bay of Saitama. This was the most difficult step but it had to be in a new island, there was not enough space to create the airport inland. (In these photos you can see the final result and how the airport looks) • • The design of the structure is quite simple, The design consists of a long building that is divided into several sections. The terminals are named as A B & C. #Terminal A (Dedicated only to ANA Airlines company) #Terminal B (Dedicated to domestic flights. Only japanese flights) #Terminal C (Dedicated to international flights from other companies) • • #Terminal A ( ANA Airlanes Terminal) In these pictures you can see some 787 dreamliner. • #Terminal B where some Boeing 737-800 are ready to flight to another japanese cities (There is only one flight out of Japan from this terminal, it connects Saitama with Seoul in South Korea) • #Terminal C where you can see airplanes coming from Taipei in Taiwan, Busan in South Korea, Beijing in China and one 787 JAL Airplane which connects Saitama with Paris in France • • The Saitama International airport has all kind of facilities, now we'll see some of them... • • Safety is always the most important, here you can see the fire station that has the most modern vehicles to ensure the safety of all passengers • • This is the hotel zone, here people can find all kinds of services. Hotels, restaurants, offices dedicated to business, tourist offices, etc ... • • The company ANA Airlines has in this airport one of its headquarters, in this picture you can see the new and modern building • • The airport has also a small port, this port is used to supply kerosene to the airport, an airport can't work without kerosene for all those airplanes • • The cargo area is one of the most important parts of every airport. All kinds of packages, postal and courier are sent and received here • • The last thing we will see today is the control tower. It is quite modern and its design is one of the new faces of Saitama Prefecture • ##################### ~ R - E - P - L - I - E - S ~ ############################################################################## sucram17 Thanks for your comment. Welcome to Saitama International Airport
Ke|is posted a City Journal entry in Saitama Prefecture - The Port of Japan
• Update #1 / WELCOME TO SAITAMA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT • ################################################################## • After a long journey, we finally are about to land on one of the two international airports in Saitama Prefecture. We hope that your flight has been enjoyable and that everything has been to your liking. Thank you for choosing ANA Airlines and welcome to Japan • • Before disembarking, we will give you dear passengers a brief information about the new Saitama airport • • The name of the airport is "Saitama International Airport" / SIAT. It was open in september, 2015. It is located on an island in the bay of Saitama. There is a bigger airport in the prefecture, the Nagano international airport, for that reason the authorities in Saitama decided to build a medium-sized airport and not another big airport, in this case was possible to built the airport on an island in the bay of the Prefecture • • Thanks to the new airport, air transport in the prefecture is more fluid. Now international flights from Europe, Africa and America are operating in the other International airport (Nagano International airport). The new Saitama international airport operates most of the flights in Asia. The airport is a base for the japanese air company ANA Airlines. There is a dedicated terminal for Japanese flights and another dedicated to international flights • • If you are lucky you could see and enjoy the new airplane by ANA airlines, it is dedicated and decorated with the STAR WARS colours and it has a stop from its fly from Tokyo in the new airport in Saitama • • There are many ways to get to the different cities of the prefecture from the airport. You can take the special fast train connecting the airport with the city and with the other airport. You can take a bus or a taxi, but the most special, fun and definitely the most famous is to take the new Saitama's ferry. It connects all the important points in the bay of Saitama • • If you need to stay in the airport because you don't want to suffer the trafic problems and th noise of the big city, that is not a problem. There are hotels, restaurants, stores and all those things that you could need in your stay in Saitama • • During the night the airport looks amazing, it is a new and modern airport and you can see that, the blue is the color of the Prefecture and also the color of the new airport. I hope you enjoy your stay here and please be welcome to Saitama Prefecture • |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| ~ R - E - P - L - I - E - S ~ cmdp123789 Thanks for your support my friend. What are you doing now? Still working with your NYC recreation ? Saludos amigo. jmsepe Hello, Thanks for your comment ! Well after alot of time playing in this style I think I got a good result, but I have to work more on it... there are some hard points to recreate, like the urban areas, for example areas like Sumida in Tokyo with that medium density... raynev1 Thanks for your comment and your support my friend. Here you got the first update, I hope you like it and enoy it. Tonraq First of all, thanks for your comment ! I also want to say that I respect and enjoy with the work of everybody in this community. This is a game and we cannot forget that. When I said those things about the realism in others regions is not a criticism because players are free to make whatever they want, I just was talking in terms of realism. For example if you know about japan you will know about the importance of earthquakes and how much they influence in the Japanese architecture... I say this, because for example I see alot of people using buildings from Hong Kong or China (I know Some of them can perfectly fit in a Japanese environment) and is very common to see a "Japanese themed city" full of pencil towers which is... well we can say totally impossible... this is just an example, there are more things, such as a good transport system, a real map or a real location for a Japanese city which I think is really important... but as I say this is not a critic to other players, in the past I also made japanese cities with alot of tall buildings from USA or China, cities located in wrong maps, etc... and after make alot of regions and work with all kind of plugins I think I got a good result... so please don't take that message as a critic, its just my opinnion about the japanese regions in simcity4. I respect everything, every city and region created in this big simcity 4 community. Thanks again for your comment and I hope to see you again around here. I really like your CJ and I enjoy a lot with it. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| Greetings / Saludos / Groeten # Jonathan.- 22 Comments

Saitama Prefecture V2 - Information + Region Map
Ke|is posted a City Journal entry in Saitama Prefecture - The Port of Japan
~ Welcome everyone to Saitama Prefecture. Here you will discover japan like never before ~ Saitama Prefecture is a prefecture of Japan located in the region of Honshu. Saitama has a population of around 5,377,631 and has a geographic area of 8,112 km2 (2,359 sq mi). Saitama Prefecture borders Okayama Prefecture and Osaka Prefecture. Sakai is the capital and the largest city of Saitama Prefecture, with other major cities including Kawasaki, Hatsukaichi, Higashihiroshima, and many other great cities that together define the region and prefecture of Saitama. It is important to state and confirm that this project is not a recreation of any japanese city. I am simply taking some places and some names of the real Japan, as well I am using real cities as a blueprint and as inspiration for my own creation. But this is not a recreation. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Information of interest: A metropolis surrounded by nature: The city and prefectural capital is a vibrant metropolis with more than three million inhabitants where nature, modernity and antiquity live side by side. The region has a young and modern culture that respects and strongly remembers its past. Religion is important and there are many temples scattered throughout the area which we will gradually visit and get to know. The city has a modern transport system, skyscrapers, ports and international airports, and is a metropolis surrounded by sea and mountains. - Economy: The city has an economy based largely on the sea, its industrial ports and the movement of goods around the world make this region an economically positive place. Tourism, business, and Japanese culture are an added bonus that make this region a place with a more than assured future. In recent years, the regional government has made great efforts to bring the region up to the standards of Japan's major cities and regions. - Urban planning and architecture: Large residential areas cover most of the prefecture's land. In fact, the whole region is connected by different villages and towns in which residential houses predominate. The region is heavily populated by old Japanese style houses, made of wood and mostly coloured in different colours. This is one of the characteristics and signs of this region. If you go to the centre of the prefectural capital, you will find modern skyscrapers and department stores. The region does have skyscrapers at the moment, although there are plans to build some more in the future. - A Religious Culture: Shinto is a religion originating in Japan, sometimes considered the indigenous religion of Japan. Along with Buddhism, it is one of the country's two main religions. The region is full of temples and shrines dedicated to these religions. Little by little we will visit and get to know all of them to discover this interesting culture which has motivated the construction of marvellous places all around the Prefecture. - Tourism: Prefecture's tourism focuses mainly on the region's temples and shrines. The Prefecture is visited to enjoy these unique places, such as Sakai Castle or Itsukushima Shrine located on an island in the prefecture's bay. In general, most tourists visit the region for a couple of days, usually including the Prefecture as a stopover on their travels around Japan. Currently, tourism in the region is not comparable to that of cities such as Tokyo or Osaka, but the local government is making great efforts to change this and put Saitama in a higher place. - Transport: The favourite word of Saitama's inhabitants is TRAIN ! The train is the biggest and most efficient transport in the region. You can practically go anywhere using the train. We will gradually get to know all the trains and models running around the Prefecture. The list is very long ! In addition, the city has two airports, a large number of ports, ferries, an excellent Highway system, two bullet train or shinkansen stations, last but not least, the region is also connected by an excellent bus system. - Ports and maritime economy: The region's economy is based on the transport of goods by sea, and its ports are the fuel of this economy. The entire coastline of the Prefecture is full of industrial ports. There are large areas of land reclaimed from the sea dedicated to port areas and there are already plans and future projects to build new ports in the region. Among the ports we can find container areas, gas and fuel ports, ports dedicated to the export of vehicles, as well as a large number of small ports dedicated to food and fishing. - Airports and international connections: The region has two airports, one for local use and one international airport built on an area reclaimed from the sea. Ana airlines and Japan airlines are the main airlines of the prefecture and the country. ANA airlines has one of its headquarters in the region as well. The International Airport is fully equipped to handle flights from all over the world. The city also has a small airport used to handle local flights, which is located in a densely populated area on Sakai's Bay. Little by little we will learn much more about these airports and their management. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Welcome to Saitama Prefecture- 7 Comments

# Hello; - My name is Jonathan, and today I want to present you my biggest SimCity project. I have this project on my head since I started to play SimCity, even I started this project during the 2006 but I had to leave it because I couldn't get the result that I did want. I am a perfectionist and wanted to do the best New York in SimCity but I did not have the necessary knowledge level. During all these years I've been playing SimCity and trying to make better every single part of the game, more realistic and more visual, almost like a real city. Somebody maybe can remember my recreation of Berlin, or all my Japanese cities, even my first recreation Hong Kong, it had been quite successful here in simtropolis...during these last two years I have been working on my best project called "Windows on the World" with this project, I try to make real or imaginary places around the world and now it's turn to New York city. Now I have everything that I need to make the best recreation of this city, also I have a lot of new ideas to make this Recreation even more special, I just need all your support and all your advices to make this recreation even better. - I decided start here this project because I am another NYBT member since it was created, and one of my main goals was to make this, a large window to show all the buildings created by my team mates. I just hope you can enjoy with this project, I just want to show New York city, my favorite city in the world, one of my dreams since I was a child and the main reason I started to play SimCity 4. ##################################################################### # In this topic we will see the current progress of the recreation. This will be a very slow recreation because I have to create and plop every single building, park or road and I spent a lot of time making the lots and even sometimes I need to create some little models on 3ds max, so for that reason please be patient, the result will be better and much realistic. I will try to update with every new picture what I have on my hands and when the city is large and it is evolved I will do major updates showing one by one the most famous and important points of the city, even I'm thinking of creating a youtube channel to make the city more real, let's see what happen in the future with this. # Well I think that's all for the presentation of the project, so I hope you support me and together we can make the most realistic New York city recreation, Thank you so much and Greetings ##################################################################### || Welcome to - Recreating New York city by Kelistmac ||
