Great idea. I could have used this a couple of months ago. This won't work for an inner-city construction, but is wonderful for paving the wilderness. For the bilingual description I wish I could give an additional 10/10. Everyone should post multi-lingual if they can, and help translate for those who can't. Even if English is wide spread, the internet is international. Ummm.... Merci et tr

I live near Ft. Lauderdale, FL. After rendering, just be sure to cover every area of the mainland with VERY DENSE trees and many, many canals (BSC brick canals maybe?). Birch and Noble would probably look closest to the Cypress, Maleluka, Australian Pine, Black Olive, and "southern pine" that congests every undeveloped area and blankets even many areas of metros. Palm trees? Only naturally occuring ones are by the beach. The rest are added along Avenues (which are 6-8 lane).

If you are not making your region available to others, could I see some shots of your South Beach area (in particular, the area with the shops and clubs)? Its the only area I have visited more than once. Well... I drive family to a Dr. off of Miami Gardens Drive, but after getting off of I-95 (right near the 826 interchange) its only a 3min trip to their doctors. I myself live in Pompano Beach, Broward County, FL (about 30min @45mph north of Ft. Lauderdale) I've thought about doing a north east Broward County region, but I'm still new at Sim City 4 making mistakes as I go along with my current region. Good job.

Ever thought of doing for I-M/D/H what you did for I-A (tracking, rewards, etc)? That would be cool. Especially if it opened up new commercial buildings too. (ie: logging->saw mill->Scotty's Lumber, paper mill->publisher->"Big Box Books" stores) (ore mine->foundry->steel mill->steel dependent factories) Try to get permission to use existing lots to lighten the load.

I have no use for it yet (small towns) and I'm not recreating my hometown (N of Ft Lauderdale, FL) yet (lots of seedy stuff west of the tracks). I have seen better detailed lots, but its MUCH better than EA lots. Since I doubt I'd ever build a lot, I'll probably use your clubs for the "strip malls" *g*

My game crashes, please help
WKRP_Simcinnati replied to jakethedane's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
I was having a similar problem (except it would BSOD with repeating sound) and could not figure out why. It turned out to be a two part problem. 1) The CMI87xx sound card I had recently added was the main problem. It added instability to the system in general, but especially when using any game that uses a lot of sound (like SC4). I tried different drivers and some crashed less often than other. I found many others (on forums) with BSOD problems with that card, so it wasn't just me. I took the card out and went back to using the onboard sound -- 80% of the crashes went away. Also, I could use "hardware graphics" setting without a horrible slow down. With the CMI soundcard, I had to use software or it would freeze for 2 seconds at a time. Without, it runs fairly smooth in hardware. 2) My CPU was running a little hot. Even after cleaning out (dust, etc) the computer the temp would still go a little high. I then broke apart everything and went as far as to was my heatsink in bleach and soap. When reassembling, I alcohol'd the CPU sruface clean, gave a light sanding to both surfaces and reattached the heatsink with Arctic Silver as a paste. Temps are still high (despite adding another case fan), but not as bad and not as often. Now I have no crashes what so ever. As it applies to you, you may have different drivers. Were you using updated drivers before and now you are not? Sometimes new drivers introduce new bugs (conflicts with old hardware/software) that the companies decide not to fix. You could try removing all your cards and memory and reseating them. Sometimes they are not making a good connection. -- even a small bump has knocked 'em loose in the past. If you are using a firewall like Zone Alarm, sometimes it can do some freaky stuff when interacting with other drivers on your system. I still don't understand how a virtual drive driver interferes with a firewall, but it did! DISCLAIMER: All of this assumes you know how to perform computer hardware maintenance/installation. There are lots of non-obvious precautions you mut take to not toast your system (or you). If you don't know what you are doing, learn/read more first. Oh, and "good luck" on fixing that problem. -
This lot is great! I live in S.E. Florida and once worked at one too. (lousy place to work, because of management at most stores) I won't use it unless I can figure how to edit the jobs. The jobs are WAY off. 80% $, 9% $$, and 2% $$$. Its mostly by $6.50-$7.50/hr part timers that are given 39hr weeks. The only one who seemed to be making anything decent (and still not $$$) was the store manager, and sometimes a dept head if they were around for a while.
