WORK IN PROGRESS --

The Jade Bight --

Wilhelmshaven.

The "Kaiser Wilhelm Nationaldenkmal" by Debussyman.

I think I have finally found a way to properly showcase the monument.

Lots of building and landscaping still to do.

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed.  But they produced Michael Angelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and The Renaissance.

In Switzerland, they had brotherly love and five hundred years of peace.  And what did that produce?

The cuckoo clock !

Looks cool,  sweet use of the old highway walls. That traffic control lane marker thingy makes next to no sense that way though.

Wonderfull! I think all paeng park users would agree: share this please!

Shouldn't the big fountain (neptun?, top of image) be centered according to the grass patterns left and right of the plaza?

Yo --  Simmer2 !

Pardon me for being a bit dense --

Is this railyard compatible with the Maxis double track ??  I have the feeling you need a Nam32 puzzle piece to convert -- right?

@Dreadnought As you can see in the pictures, it definitively is NOT compatible with  Maxis double track . You need the latest NAM installed and then if you wish to use RRW dual track, you only need the DTR to STR piece to make it work. Or you could just run an STR line to the lot.

Ha good point. I thought it might look a little wonky but decided to put it in. Might take it out.

If anything its for train operators to know what tracks they can use (what is open / closed for their direction of travel)

Now this is a gap filled that I wasn't even aware of! Very creative work there, and the model looks really good to me as well.

Long time reader, first time post.

I thought I would put up a few photos of what I have been working on, the first photo is of a region that i had made myself, not know any of the mods to create maps it was done by hand.

    4_zps5g6ijxxs.jpg

I've stopped working on this region as I wanted to start again using CAM, RHW, terrain mod for snow with proper mountain ranges and a much larger map area. URL]

I found Humboldt by @panerai1 and decided to use that with Columbus terrain mod for the snow mountain ranges, Im currently planning to have 3 major city centres with two close by on either side of the main river outlet and another one at the top of the river nearer to the mountain ranges. As you can see the population for the whole region is still under 300k as I've been mostly busy getting cities started and building the golf course for the sim challenge at the bottom of Crystal City.

"IMGUR" has gone "goofy" on me and I can't get seem to get a code to paste an image in here.

They've got a "beta" page up there -- must be changing something.

Can anyone suggest another image host??

I wanted a new water mod for my region so I downloaded

I went with the dark blue version, however I find the texture to be a bit too bright and cheerful for what water looks like around where I live, so I edited the texture.

    Thoughts?

Dreadnought is right, set it by WMP.

Nice change in hue Metasmurf, though the texture seems to have lost some of its finer details, maybe play around with the contrast a bit?

And is maybe too... purple? I would move the hue a bit to the green, try using satellite or aerial images to get an idea of how water looks like from avobe, which is always different than how it looks from the coast.

@vortext  Lowering the contrast was done on purpose, because I thought the original texture looked too detailed and sharp, so with a combination of gamma correction, lowering the levels of the white, and slightly reduced contrast I got my result.

@matias93 Good point. I'm gonna change it very slightly since otherwise it will look too green for my taste. Satellite pictures aren't the best reference for SC4 as drone photos/videos are more close to actual sc4 view.

I am currently working on redoing my chicken Farm on the STEX... going to get a complete face lift.

here is what it currently looks like.

    812073c5524620cb218e24d5824d7e3b-chicken

going to change the farm fields to corn to begin with. this lot is also going to get a house placed on it and some new bats will be created for the lot. this one is a longer Term project. but I am in no hurry the Goal for this lot is to give it a more realistic look.. It is also going to get a new name which Free Range will be part of the title.

So I have finished my first RHW interchange, what a nightmare. This definitely has me second guessing going back to maxis highways

My biggest bugbear is that it appears to be broken

The first thing I would say is that what you show here is simply very far removed from anything that's remotely possible with the Maxis Highways. Yes you could have a general layout that comes close, but it wouldn't look half as realistic.

As for it working or not, there are many factors to consider here. For example, if all the freight traffic is using this route, it's because the pathfinder has determined it is the quickest one. The game doesn't think like a human would, so traffic will not use the "intended" layout for it's route. The real issue is that highways are typically a separate network entirely from the other roads. Usually you only enter or exit a highway at a dedicated junction or interchange. However, if you unrealistically run highway into roads as you've done here, unexpected results may occur. Not least because the way you've connected the East and West sides of the highway were never intended to work like that. Why would a six lane (or larger) highway suddenly end with a T-Intersecting road?

Ultimately, each player must decide if RHW is worth it for them or not. Building with RHW does take a lot more time and effort, plus, like a lot of NAM content, it's not always easy to get started. That said, persevere with it, and the results, if only in terms of looks, will always be superior.

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.
