  1. Show us What you're Working On

The current heatwave in Europe is forcing me to find an indoor activity—good reason to further expand my Plantation Bay region. Here an overview of the existing tile; the expansion is planned for the southwest. 1st step: creating a nice seamless transition from these mostly industrial areas including port structures... ...across the border into the next tile: 2nd building a basic transport layout: I´m not sure if I´ll keep the avenues or downgrade these to roads in the beginning. Next will be adding the 1st residential areas, most likely at the northern coastline using the s-bent road as main connection, surrounded by big farms next to the rail line. Later expanding the transport networks and zoning a 2nd res area surrounding the southern bay. Region view, I marked the new tile: Transportation overview: Comments are welcome!
  2. First FLUP issues

    1. Red Circles: I use the "route under pedmall" pieces in these cases which you find in the FLUP Tab ring. 2. Blue Circles: You can use overhanging fillers like these: They have to be placed in the spots of the underground stairs withe the overhanging diagonal part filling the gap. 3. Yellow: AFAIK overpasses don't work here. Solution could be changing your road lay out, maybe by dragging the roads one tile further apart from the avenue and building a second smooth 90° curve, like an S-Bend?

    Thx to everybody involved!!!

  6. Getting started

Very nice pics. I´m happy about every new cj. I like the scree slopes (or debris cones - don´t know the exact term in english) on the feet of your cliffs-- reminds me of my geographical/ geological studies many years ago. Did you mmp those or are they part of a rock mode? It seems that you have great eye for a realistic, not griddy road layout in city and region view, just keep an eye on bumps, slopes and curves, this might bother you in the long run. At least that's how it was for me until I considered using slope mods and digged deeper into curve - drag patterns and flex pieces - compared to other long time players I´m still on the learning curve too. Looking forward to the next chapter!
  7. Show us your City's Details/Close-ups!

Even modern suburban architecture can have some nice aspects. Sims like to live in this blocks next to shops, church, hospital and marketplace. Just around the corner, maybe not so nice....

    Great to see you back!
  9. Show us your City's Details/Close-ups!

Opposite side of the bay. Old town center surrounded by a dense urban conglomeration of skyscrapers. My post in show us what you're working on can give you an overview.
  10. Show us your City's Details/Close-ups!

After some I changes I like this part of my city. The bridge leads to the dense center district. Next step will be giving some attention towards the coastline.
  11. Show us What you're Working On

Rebuilt one of my bridges. Before: After: To be honest the one and only reason was that I somehow never liked how the route was running right in the middle of the lower district in the pic. As there runs a subway route under the seabed it was never much in use and is actually without any traffic at all....haha. If you like you can find some more recent developments between both pics. Some decades have passed...
  12. NAM: Requests - 2nd Edition

I know, should have mentioned that.

I think you misunderstood my "target": The pic shows a functional diagonal maxis highway connection which I built using the "route under diagonal highway" FLUP piece plopped over isolated (with the network eraser tool) connection arrows. I'd like to do same for an avenue, therefore i was searching for this avenue piece. There´s no need for going over or under it. I know that I can convert an avenue to small maxis highway stubs just at the border, but that doesn´t look very nice from my point of view. I have a possible solution in my mind but that will be a hassle: I think the old Rail Viaduct Puzzle Pieces (before RRW) should work for that. So: searching for my old NAM backups, downgrading/ building and return to the actual state, not sure if it´s worth giving that a try.....
  14. NAM: Requests - 2nd Edition

There is this mod: Thx for pointing that out. I installed it some time ago on my mac version but couldn't get it to work. As I'm now on windows via bootcamp I have to give a new try
  15. NAM General Support

Hi Tarkus, thx for the reply. Just wanted to make sure that I´don't miss something in the menus. I´m fully aware that there are many other things going and a lack of peeps having time and skills to speed up things. The more I´m using your stuff I´m feeling kind of sorry that I'm not able to help out.... One more question: The reason I was looking for the diagonal avenue FLUP piece is that i`d like to build diagonal avenue neighbour connections.Do you or anybody else have an idea how to achieve this? Any diagonal avenue piece that can be plopped over the neighbour connections? Just as an example here a diagonal maxis GHW connection build in the same way Thx in advance, even if there is currently no solution. Edit: The diagonal avenue puzzle pcs I was looking for are not needed to build diagonal neighbour connections. You can build an ortho connection, isolate the connection arrows (network eraser) and drag the diagonal avenue plus a road stub on the outer arrow.
